Famous missionary, Bishop Ajayi Crowther, visited Igbo land in 1857. He came with other missionaries to help spread Christianity. He visited places like Onitsha, Aboh, Asaba etc. He wrote extensively about his visit . Some of the things said are enumerated below, however, note that in 1857, there was nothing called "Nigeria", not even the creator of Nigeria, Lord Lugard, had been born. Ajayi Crowther: I may mention Abám to the north of Ogobéndo , Isiápo a small district between Ndoki and Bonny and which may be reached by canoe , Oráta to the eastward of O’zuzu , and finally Omiúnsi , a town in Elugu , the inhabitants of which are said to be Igbos. The religion of I’gbo is entirely Pagan , mixed up with numerous rites and ceremonies , neither in general so frightful nor so bloody as those practised in Bíni , in Dahómi , and other more western countries , but still all of a pre – eminently superstitious character . “The I’gbos all believe in an Almighty – being , omnipresent and omnipotent , whom they call Tshúku , whom they constantly worship , and whom they believe to communicate directly with them through his sacred shrine at A’ro . “The town is always mentioned with great respect , almost , at times , with a degree of veneration , and the people say “ Tshúku abyama , “ God lives there". But they speak also of another and a dis tinct Deity , who at Abó is known as Orissa , but throughout other parts of I’gbo , as “ Tshúku – Okéke , ” “ God the creator , or the supreme God . ” Abó people believe that after death , those who have been good on earth may either go to Oríssa and abide with him , or they may , if they like , visit any country on earth ; and so slaves often , when dying , say that they will go and revisit their native land ; if , on the other hand a wicked man dies , it is understood that he is driven to Qkómo , or hell ; derived from oko , fire , and mo spirit . In Abó every man and every woman of any consequence keeps as djú – dju or sacred , the lower jaw of a pig , or , until they can procure this , a piece of wood fashioned like one . This is preserved in their huts , and produced only when worshipped , or when sacrifices are made to it , which are at certain times , at intervals of from ten days to three weeks . The particular days are determined by the djú – dju men or priests , and by them intimated to the people . They sprinkle this djú – dju with palm – wine , and touching it with a kola – nut , speak to it , and ask it to be good and propitious towards them . It is named A’gba , meaning pig , or A ‘ gba – E’zhi , or pig’s – jaw ; but when kept as djú – dju , it is also termed Ofúm , or “ my image , ” and also Tshúku . People also select particular trees near their huts , or , if there are none in the neighbourhood , they transplant one ; these they worship and call Tshúkum , or “ my God . ” They hang on these bits of white baff ( calico , ) as signs of a djú dju tree , and as offerings to the deity . No one ever touches these , and if they rot off they are replaced . Little wooden images are also used , and are styled O’fo – Tshúku , or “ images of God , ” and to these they talk and pray . When a man is suspected of false hood , one of these is placed in his right hand , and he is made to swear by it , and if he does so falsely it is believed that some evil will speedily befal him . Sacrifices , principally of fowls , are made to these latter , as to the former . In Isuáma and in Eʻlugu there are similar usages , but the pig’s – jaw is not employed , and no white baff is hung on the trees . At Abó one large tree is held as djú – dju for the whole district , it is covered with offerings , and there is an annual festival in honour of it , when sacrifices of fowls , sheep , goats , and bullocks are made . When a man goes to A’ro to consult Tshúku , he is received by some of the priests outside of the town , near a small stream . Here he makes an offering , after which a fowl is killed , and , if it appears unpropitious , a quantity of a red dye , probably camwood , is spilt into the water , which the priests tell the people is blood , and on this the votary is hurried off by the priests and is seen no more , it being given out that Tshúku has been displeased , and has taken him . The result of this preliminary ceremony is determined in general by the amount of the present given to the priests , and those who are reported to have been carried off by Tshúku are usually sold as slaves |

In 1954, five young Nigerian men were selected to attend the prestigious Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, England. Four of the men were Igbos, while one was from the Angas tribe of Northern Nigeria. Their names and Army number are Michael Okwechime(N22), Patrick Anwunah(N19), Arthur Unegbe(N23), Alexander Madiebo(N21) and Yakubu Gowon(N20) All five men passed out of the Academy in December 1956 and and returned to Nigeria where they became officers of the Nigerian Army. Ten years later in 1966 all five men had become Lt Colonel's when the first coup happened. Unegbe was killed. The second coup of that year, targeted at Igbos, saw Madiebo, Anwunah and Okwechime escaping to the East. By the time the Nigerian civil war broke out, Gowon had become Military head of state, Madiebo had become commander of the entire Biafran Army, Okwechime had become commander of the Biafran 11th Division, Anwunah had become Adjutant General of the Biafran Army and Principal Staff Officer (PSO) to Biafran leader, General Ojukwu. General Alexander Madiebo commanded the Biafran Army from the start of the war until the end. He flew into exile with Ojukwu. With Ojukwu, Anwunah and Okwechime now all late, the last two Major actors of the civil war on either side is Major General Alexander Madiebo, Officer Commanding The Biafran Army, Republic Of Biafra. And Major General Yakubu Gowon, Head Of State And Commander Of The Armed forces, Federal Republic Of Nigeria Madiebo returned to Nigeria in 1980 and wrote one of the greatest book about the Nigerian civil war "The Nigerian Revolution And The Biafran Civil War". He now lives in his hometown, Awka. Gowon went on to become Nigeria's longest serving head of state, he was in power for 9 years. He was overthrown in 1976 and lived in exile in London for many years before returning to Nigeria Both men are almost 90. It would be good if both men had a debate about the civil war Pic 1. Im always amazed by people like Joe Igbokwe who claims to love "one Nigeria" so much but he only is ever concerned about the insecurity in his zone Never will you hear Joe talk about the wholesale slaughter going in middle belt by killer herdsmen, or that ISWAP murdered 120 people in a Market in Sokoto, or that Boko haram beheaded 44 farmers in Borno But if unidentified people kill one person in the South east, Joe Igbokwe and others like him will come out to wail, then tell everyone we are 'one Nigeria' What a hypocrite |
As bad as Lekki tollgate massacre was, Obigbo massacre was much worse. Obigbo, also officially known as 'Oyigbo', is a town in Portharcourt, Rivers state During the ENDSARS protest in October last year, some ENDSARS were protesting in Obigbo when they came across a combined team of Police and Army. What happend next is not entirely known, but what is known is that the security forces opened fire on unarmed ENDSARS protesters, which in turn caused the protesters to turn violent Some of the security forces were allegedly killed, the local Police station and some government buildings were burnt. But worse was yet to come All over Southern Nigeria, there were violent running battles between ENDSARS protesters and the security forces, but while other Governors were running around trying to de-escalate the carnage, Governor Wike of Rivers state was the only one who chose to make things worse in his state The very next morning after the Obigbo incident, with no investigation whatsoever conducted, Wike went on Tv to blame seperatist group, IPOB, for the violence, and invited the security forces into Obigbo. Wike went around shouting that IPOB was taking over his state and the Nigerian should come and save his people The Nigerian Army heard him and moved into Obigbo. What happend next was days of extra- judicial killings and indiscriminate arrests of unarmed defenceless Obigbo residents by the Nigerian Army Those who were arrested and lucky to be alive, were airlifted to different military bases in Northern Nigeria where the males were tortured and the females raped for months Those who were unlawfully killed were thrown into the local River. It is said that for days, corpses were seen floating all over the River To hide the atrocity that happened, a military cordon was thrown around Obigbo and the Governor declared a curfew Obigbo massacre must be joined to Lekki tollgate report, and all those involved, including Wike, must eventually be made to face justice |
The disgrace of a Police Officer known as Abba Kyari, came to Imo state with his rebranded 'SARS', now called IRT(Response Intelligence Team) and unleashed an orgy of violence, intimidation and death on Imolites. Under the guise of looking for IPOB/ESN members, Abba Kyari Indiscrimately arrested several civilians, locked them up in his notorious 'Tiger base' Owerri, before they were shipped off to different prisons in the North. Many had to pay up to one million Naira to get out of what they knew nothing about. Many who could not afford this money are still languishing in different prisons up in the North. Abba Kyari and IRT were engaged in arson, kidnapping, illegal detention, extortion and extra-judicial killings. All they had to do was label anyone 'IPOB' or 'ESN' for the person to end up dead, detained or simply disappear. I hope someday, Abba Kyari is brought to book for all his crimes in Imo state. God has already started punishing him for his sins Why Obi Cubana called this terrorist of a Policeman his friend, and even hosted him in hometown, Oba, as he was killing innocent Igbo youths in Imo, I will never know My advice to Obi Obi Cubana is to apologise to the Igbo nation for ever having anything to do with a blood sucking murderer like Abba Kyari. He probably didnt Abba Kyari well enough, and people will understand

Nothing like Southern Nigeria, make everyone answer him papa name |
Billionaire businessman and Senator representing Anambra South, Ifeanyi Ubah, was left embarrassed at Nnamdi Kanu's trial today. The Senator had gone to attend Nnamdi Kanu's trial but was refused entry into the court room. As if that was not enough, the Senator came out of the court premises to address a large crowd of Kanu's supporters, only to be embarrassed once again As Ifeanyi Ubah opened his mouth to talk, Kanu's supporters started singing "onye tuo vote o na ugwu-awusa!" (anyone who votes will relocate to the North!). The song drowned out any effort by the Senator to talk leaving him thoroughly embarrassed. He then left for good. Some people see Ifeanyi Ubah's new found interest in Nnamdi Kanu as an election ploy to secure votes in next month's Governorship elections in Anambra https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=167742738892990&id=107604521573479 |

According to Kanu's Lawyers, this is a gross violation of Kenyas Immigration laws as well as extradition treaties signed by Kenya The court sat and heard the petition and has given the Kenyan government 3 weeks to file a response. The court will reconvene on 3rd November 2021 for continuation of the matter Somto Okonkwo is a close associate of the Kanu family. He was one of the lucky few who escaped death by the whiskers when the federal government of Nigeria sent Soldiers to invade Kanu's house in September 2017. Twenty eight people are alleged to have been killed during military attack on Kanu's home.

Some of you may remember the picture below from a few days ago when the Commissioner of Police Imo state, Abutu Yaro, paraded over 20 men and claimed they were IPOB/ESN members arrested in a Hotel in Orlu. He also claimed that the owner of the Hotel was sponsoring IPOB. What they never told you is that the security forces invaded the Hotel, randomly arrested the 20 men, burnt the Hotel down, burnt shops around the premises, and moved further down to burn the home of the owner of the Hotel. All this after investigating and clearing the Hotel owner of any wrong doing.
