diegwu01:The video of the Nigerian Army surrounding Kanu's house is on youtube. The video of heavy gunfire at Kanus gate is on youtube. The video of the aftermath of the raid is on youtube. Plus, the Army declared victory over IPOB. So what do you the Army surrounded Kanu's house for? To offer him protection? |
I dont know how people as different as Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba/Igbo were brought together in one madness called "one Nigeria" and people expect it will work |
adelee777:Well at least he fought for three years before running away. You guys ran away from Northerners even before any fight even started |
Yyeske:There are places to joke and where not to joke. The Nigerian Army does not shoot people over the issue of Biafra alone, they shoot people for different sorts of reasons. It could easily be you on the floor dead tomorow over an issue that has nothing to do with IPOB or Biafra or simply because someone doesnt like your face. So if you are not yet mature enough to speak against military violence, make way let those who can do so. |
God is listening to the cry of his people being murdered by the terrorists in uniform called the Nigerian Army simply for agitating for their freedom. All I know is that come rain or shine, we Igbos will one dsy be free of tbis damnable creation of the white man called Nigeria |
Declaring IPOB was just selective justice and everybody can see the hypocrisy, even US and UK. Buhari has no problems proscribing IPOB that has never killed anyone but cannot do the same to his herdsmen brothers that are killing people all over the place. Ok... |
It is shocking that the Nigerian Army is still denying that it raided Kanu's House even though there are several videos of them doing so |
MICHEALADEX:Of course, a slave is a slave. |
HunterofPigs:People pray, so does Nnamdi Kanu. The man often prayed before starting his broadcats In the pictures, Nnamdi Kanu was praying which is why people bowed and knelt down. The guy who kissed Nnamdi Kanu's shoes maybe Yoruba |
HunterofPigs:You are posting these pictures but you cant even look and see that Nnamdi Kanu is praying in all of them which is why people are kneeling or bowing aside from the the guy who kissed Kanu's shoes. |
MICHEALADEX:I still think that the guy who bowed so low and kissed Kanu's shoe like that was a Yoruba man |
Bowing is optional in Igbo culture and the few places it happens is with someone highly respected or revered such as the Obi of Onitsha. Other cultures bow to anybody such as an elder If I saw the Obi of Onitsha in public, I just probably would have raised both my hands and hailed "Igwe!" |
The write up was concise and exposes opration Python dance as an illegality. It also shows why IPOB cannot be termed a terrorist group no matter the utterances of Kanu. |
I will be mourning all those we lost in Abia state and Obigbo to the murderous terrorist gang called the Nigerian Army. I will never ever celebtate 1st October for as long as I live for that day was the day my people entered real bondage. |
Rawani:Wether military brutality and extrer- judicial killings happend to Shia's or IPOB does not make it right. Doing the wrong thing, no matter how many times, will not make that action right or normal. The Army has no business shooting people in peace times. If there is break down of law and order, it is the job of the police handle that situation. The Army is not a crime fighting unit. If the Army were moving in a procession and IPOB attacked them with sticks and stones as they claim, does the Army have the right to respond with live ammunition? They do not. In a situation like that, what the Army should do is withdraw and alert the Police. The Army deviated from its constitutional role to become judge, jury and executioner and that is horrible. As for Nnamdi Kanu, I still wonder how a single individual can threaten a whole country with only his mouth? Nnamdi Kanu has the right of free speech. If he likes he can say he will send Nigeria to outer space for all I care. What a person says his mouth and what he actually does are two different things. At least Nnamdi Kanu is only talking Niger Delta militants killed destroyed properties, Nigerian government dialogued with them and gave them amnesty Boko haram is killing everyday, government is still dialoging with them which led to release of Chibok girls Herdsmen are massacaring people left and right, not one of them has been arrested But what some people foaming at the mouth for is what an unarmed Kanu said or didnt say. Laughable |
Rawani:The video showed Soldiers firing and retreating. Soldiers should not be shooting over sticks and stones. That is not what the Nigerian government put guns in their hands for. Did you also see the agitator who was shot in the leg? Clashes between the civil populace and the police/Army happens every day all over the world, it is nothing new. But when Police/Army decide that sticks and stones is enough reason to shoot into a crowd, then that wrong. After 2 days, Soldiers in Abia state now regrouped and stormed the place killing several unarmed people. I dont even want to go into the human rights abuses they commited by gunning down people all over Aba and Umuahia and making people lie down in muddy water. |
Rawani:Dont turn around what I said. Even the American police will shout warning and instructions before they open fire unless a clear and present danger already exists. But in a situation where a convoy of American Policemen are passing a group of agitators and the agitators pelt the convoy with sticks and stones, never will they get down from their vehicles and open fire directly into the crowd. |
Rawani:The difference is that because America is a civilised place, they would never shoot their own citizens with live ammunition over being attacked with bottles and stones. That is not a good enough reason to bring in guns. |
When you look at the resons they came up with to tag IPOB as a terrorist group, you just fall down in laughter |
Countries have to pick and choose who to brand terrorists oe else, everybody would branded terrorist Basically, Lie Mohammed said that Kanu is terrorist because of what he said. But Fulani herdsmen killing people everywhere are just mere criminals |
Trumpism:That useless man who never dreamt he would one day become governor? Everybody is just tired of him |
KingNom:Intead of you to be questioning why your military sre shooting down unarmed people, you are writting the above trash |
November 18th "Ubochi Ofe Nsala" Lets boycott the elections umu nnem! |
preciouseres:You should be more worried that your coward Nigerian Army needs APC's and machine guns to go against unarmed people while in other civilised countries, only dialogue is needed. |
Elbowroom:Whatever you think Kanu has said, he still.has freedom of speech granted to him by the law. In a situation were his speech breaches the law, the law precribes that the police investigate and charge him if found wanting. Kanu is already in court. It doesnt matter what happend in Umuahia, IPOB have their own story and the Army have their own. What matters is if the rule of law was followed. Does the Armed forces regulation act allow the Army to shoot civilians if provoked? It does not. Does the rules of engagement allow the Army to shoot civilians because of sticks and stones? Is that proportionate response? No it is not By virtue of section 217 of the constitution, are the Army allowed to invade a persons house or any area in Nigeria during peace times and take over the job of the police? No they are not. Is the president of Nigeria allowed to deploy soldiers in a peaceful area devoid of armed insurrection? No he is not. Im no Lawyer but the number of laws broken in relation to opration Python dance 2 in Abia state are many and we should all condemn them |
Nnamdi Kanu is one crafty man. I remember during the Presidential elections, he urged his radio listeners not to vote for GEJ, and indeed, GEJ had less votes from the SE/SS than he did in the previous elections. I think that Kanu wanted Buhari to become president because Buhari's military past would make him a far more confrontational leader than GEJ who largely ignored IPOB. Buhari fell into every trap Kanu set for him. The Kanu arrest, the media chat where Buhari could not hold his anger when Kanu was mentioned, disobeying court judgements. Kanu then came out of jail and piled on the pressure. Disregarding his bail conditions, Kanu held mammoth crowd rallies, insulted Buhari with reckless abandon, baiting Buhari. Had Buhari been wise, he would have been patient and used the instruments of the courts to get Kanu down. But he could not wait. The military dictator in him took over and he returned to Nigeria from London to order opration Python dance knowing fully well it would cause fracas between IPOB and the Army. The Army then headed for Kanu's home and broke all the rules of military engagement known to man. To cover up their crimes in Abia state, they hurriedly rushed to court to declare IPOB a terrorist organisation. I didnt even know about section 217 of the constitution that outlines the use of the military before opration Python dance 2. Now Lawyers are pouring over that section of the constitution and realising that the president not only violated the constitution by the illegal deployment of the Army, but that the Army commited gross abuse of its principles by usurping the role of the police. Today, Amnesty International and HURIWA are investigating the gross human rights abuses of the Military in Abia state. The entire government of Nigeria has been turned into the laughing stock of the world by their classification of unarmed IPOB as a terrorist organisation but Killer Herdsmen are 'mere criminals'. The international goodwill Buhari enjoyed from the international community has all but disappeared while support for Biafra at home and abroad has skyrocketed. I got to hand it to Nnamdi Kanu, he chose the best promoter of Biafra with Buhari. |
Nice one by ADF. The implication could be huge because if opration Python dance was illegal, then it means that the invasion of Kanu's residence and the proscription of IPOB may well be illegal. |
Yyeske:It doesnt matter what happend in Umuahia, IPOB have their own story and the Army have their own. What matters is if the rule of law was followed. Yyeske:I watched Donald Trumps inaugration on CNN. While the inaugration was going on, anti- Trump protesters were fighting with Police and Army all over Washington with sticks and stones, nobody was shot at. I saw clips of the London riots from years ago where youths attacked London Police with not only sticks and stones but petrol bombs too, the police never shot back with live ammunition. In civilised countries, live ammunition is only last resort and it is usually against a group that is armed with guns too. Clashes between civilians and Police/Army happens all over the world, it is nothing new. Even Police and Army have their own occasional spat here in Nigeria. But when the military or police start shooting unarmed civilians because of clash, then there is serious problem that affects everybody What happend in Abia was just a case of Military brutality and extrer-judicial killings which all sane people should condemn. |
Yyeske:Povoking and attacking (with sticks and stones) is not a good enough reason for a Soldier to shoot a person. The duty of a Soldier is to shoot at someone who is armed on his level (gun) |
A young unarmed man was murdered by the Nigerian Army because they dont like his politics. It maybe a different government tomorow and anybody could be murdered for having an opposite view. People keep calling Kanu without considering that the Nigerian Army does not shoot people over the issue of Biafra alone, they shoot peoole for all kinds of reasons So why should Nigeria have an Army that shoots people in peace times? That is barbarism You are shot for Biafra today, shot for restructuring tomorow, shot for protesting next tomorow. How long before it will be your turn? How many times have we heard that the Armies of other countries are shooting civilians? Nnamdi Kanu didnt kill this young man, this man was killed as a result of having an uncivilised and unprofessional armed force in an uncivilised Nigeria. Adiu Bro, in the struggle for freedom, some will fall along the way. But eventually, we shall be free and it will be the duty of the free to remember the sacrifice of the dead. |
Gotze1:And if they dont want Nigeria restructured, what will anybody do? Restructuring is a waste of time, the North will never allow it. Which means that everyone will either have to accept Nigeria the way it is or become an 'Nnamdi Kanu' No two ways about it |
