1st October was the worst thing to happen to the Igbo nation. It was the day we entered 'one chance'

Had people like Zik, Dr Okpara known how disasterous the union of Nigeria would turn out to be, they would have been in the fore front of Igbo land being an independent nation. But how could they have known?

I can never celebrate 1st of October for the rest of my life, for me, it will always be a dark day.

This story is too wild to believe. Soldiers busted in his compound shoot the place up and didn't capture or kill Kanu.

I saw the video on youtube last night. The sound of gunfire just by Kanu's gate was so deafening that my wife thought I was watching a war movie. It is quite shocking that Nigeria claims to be a democracy but the Military can still go a peaceful area and turn.the place into a war front.

It is shocking the level of dictatoship that Nigeria has sunk to under Buhari.

That Soldiers who should only be seen in war situations can raid an unarmed mans house, and open fire with no regard to the santity of life.

So you think Solidiers are meant to shoot unarmed people who confront them? That is murder, its just that Nigeria is an uncivilised place where the rule of law does not exist.

Can you imagine if it were America or Germany and the Soldiers gunned down unarmed peopl. And when the Soldiers were asked why they did this, they say they were "confronted" or "challenged".

The Soldiers would be in a Military court the next day on murder charges.

This sort of backward Nigeria where life and the rule of law doesnt mean anything isnt what I want my fellow Igbos to belong to. It is a nation of darkness and we should aim higher than this

Personally, I dont believe Senator Uchendu wrote this because the whole write up sounds childish.

It talks about demonstrating on the streets and celebrating Trump. How is it a senators business what or whose Presidency IPOB chooses to celebrate?

The World Igbo congress has been held in London, it has been held several times in America, but a Senator is complaining about it being held in Portharcourt?

Then he talks about Obigbo, has he investigated what brought about the problem in Obigbo? IPOB just got up one morning and started attacking people? Something they have never been known to do? Who was doing all the shooting in Obigbo? Was it IPOB?

But the funny part of of the letter is that the Senator while aknowleging the right of IPOB to peaceful agitation now turns around to tell IPOB where their agitation is confined to. He now goes on to appoint himself speaker of all the ethnic groups in Rivers by saying what Rivers people will be and what they will not be.


I find it hard to believe that a Senator would write something so childish as this so if it is actually from him, it is regrettable.

Only a fool will look this picture and think that it is a mosque.

It looks more like an abandoned building taken over by drifters

Dont talk like a child. It doesnt matter if Kanu said he owns all the Nuclear warheads in Russia. If the authorities feel that the infomation is credible, they should arrest him and charge him to court, which they have already done. If people are supposed to jailed for what they say with their mouth, everybody would be in jail today.

As for BSS, have they taken up arms? Have they touched anyone? So the crime they commited was to wear berets and salute each other? Are we going to hunting the Salvation Army tomorrow?

The law is that a crime has to be commited before a person is criminalised. The FG must fold its arms until a crime is commited or if they have credible information that a crime is about to be commited.

Then you need to read chapter 4 of the Nigerian constitution because that section allows Kanu to say what he likes under his freedom of free speech and also to agitate for whatever he believes in, be it Biafra or not.

IPOB is an unrecognised contraption that wasn't given any mandate to agitate on anyone in the Niger Delta's behalf. If you in the South East see them as your freedom fighters, then by all means let them lead you to the polls.

The video shows machine gun fire at the residence of Nnamdi Kanu today in a show of shame. The Nigerian military is not a crime fighting unit and their entry into a peaceful Abia state has turned the place into a war zone.

Try and get sense. You saw a video of IPOB looking for Hausas to kill? Lets just assume that those boys were actually IPOB members, how did you draw your conclusion that they are looking for hausas to kill? It could have been they were looking for Hausas to warn against going into volatile areas, it could be that they were looking for Hausas to search for weapons

What he swore an oath to do is to uphold the constitution and chapter 4 of that constitution allows Kanu and IPOB the right to agitate about anything they like including Biafra. Until this python dance thing, there has been almost no report of violence by IPOB

Is it not IPOB that goes around threatening Igbos not to vote, not to work, etc? They are causing destabilisation of the polity. Why did they not do that when Jonathan was in power? Their hypocrisy stinks. If they were a genuine movement, they would agitate for Biafra regardless of who is in power. Not only when a Hausa man gets to power then you say you want Biafra.

Try to live in the real world

They asked their people to boycott elections which is legal, they never threatend anybody about voting

They asked people not to go to work, they never threatend those who went to work

They agitated not only during GEJ's regime but that of Obasunjo as well under MASSOB. If yoy are just hearing about them now thats your problem. I.have k own about IPOB agitation since 2013.

The video is ine of the most disgraceful things I have seen this year and exposes the Nigerian Army as an organisation of thugs who have no come to terms that are now in a democracy

Its important that my Igbo nation realise that the sooner we are not in one country with either Yoruba or Hausa, the better for us.
