I've got no problem with any tribe opting out of the idea of Biafra, after all, it is not right to force anyone into what tbey do not want to belong to.


What I have a problem with is when people claim to speak for other tribes in the name of a geographical expression called "Niger Delta"

An Ogoni man is free to say that Ogoni land is not part of Biafra. But when the Ogoni man starts saying that an Efik man is not part of Biafra, that is wrong, it is for the Efik man to speak for himself.

In the issue of Biafra, it is not right for anyone to leave his or her tribe and start speaking for another tribe.

There are many practical reasons why there will be no Arewa, Oduduwa, Biafra or other postulates. Most people ignore these practicalities because nationhood is an affair of the heart. It's emotive not cognitive so reason is irrelevant.

But I tell you what, we will see restructure , involves an increase in state powers and a similar increase in devolution. This is a moving train no one can stop.

However romantic fantasies of splintered nation are great talking points but useless to the massive preparatory work that needs to be done at state level. Commonsense commentators should aim their guns at our governors otherwise we stand to return a feudal system that is so base that it will make our current ramshackle unitary system look like paradise.

I am looking to engage with practical Commonsense and not nirvana dreamers.

If you are thinking that Nigeria is going to be restructured or that powers are going to be devolved to the states you better forget it. A restructured Nigeria makes no sense to the core North and they are going to fight it every step of the way. To devolve powers, the constitution has to be changed and the core North with their massive control of the legislature are holding all the keys.

So the question is, what will anybody do when the North says no to restructuring?

You all go back to singing the ONE NIGERIA song?

The question sensible people should be asking is what provoked these people to hurl stones the Army? How many times have we heard that the Army were going about their lawful business and people started throwing objects at them for no reason?

It is most likely that the Army did something to draw the anger of the people first.

The Army says that it only fired warning shots but we have seen the picture of the guy shot through the leg.

Diversity and population does not mean anything if the country is not working as a nation. Switzerland has a population of just 8 million people but has a bigger GDP than Nigeria. Belgium is just 10 million people but is richer than Nigeria.

Nigeria is stopping the Igbo nation because the coal in Enugu and the limestone in Abakiliki is not under the Igbo nation, it is under the Nigerian ministry of solid minerals.

The Oil and Gas in places like Ohaji, Aguleri, Ukwa is under NNPC. The Coal in Enugu is under Nigerian Coal Corporation. Igbo land does not control its resources because we are under Nigeria. Nigeri decide what we use, when and how.

It is time for the Igbo nation to be independent and manage its self outside Nigeria

The motivation for Biafra is freedom. It is time for the Igbo nation and the minorities who comfortable with us, to be independent. If there are no minorities that are comfortable with us, we go it alone.

Gambia is just 1.8 million people, not even up to the population of the city of Onitsha, but Gambia is a sovereign nation. The Igbo nation should be independent. Let the Abakiliki man develop his limestone, let the Ezza/Izzi man develop his agriculture, let the Nnewi man develop his auto-mobile industry, let the Aguleri/Otu ocha man develop his Oil, let the Enugu man develop his coal etc

We have to start thinking bigger than Nigeria but we must first start by being and independent nation.

This is just a concise and simple truth as to why biafra will never happen.... Biafra has been an agenda of few men that is fueled by greed and dangerous motives. BIAFRA is not and was never the will of the people from the east,, it was an idea fueled from greed by ojukwu and now Nnamdi kanu..and this idea was forced upon to the gullible people of the east, and they took the bait...Catalan independence that is currently trending in spain was started by the people, online pool shows that about 80% of catalans wants independence,, they dont need a man like Nnamdi kanu before they protest, unlike in NIGERIA where majority of easterners dont even care of biafra,, all they need is for the federal government to represent their region well in Abuja...A biafra by Nnamdi kanu forced upon by gullible easterners will not hold....Biafra can only succeed if it indeed comes from the heart of 80% of easterners.

So why is everybody afraid of referendum? By the way, how did Kanu, who is just one man, manage to force millions to accept Biafra?

At least Biafra is an idea, an ideology and an agitation. Nigeria was never any of the 3 but a mere colonial contraption foisted on the people by imperialists

Besides, when Rivers state was created in 1967 parts of the old Aba division such as Obigbo were carved into it.

I dont think that a lot of youngsters today realise that parts of the present day Rivers state such as Obigbo (oyigbo) used to be in the Old Aba division.

Im no Lawyer but the bail conditions do violate all his rights under chapter 4 of the Nigerian constitution

The stand if IPOB is a non violent one. What they are seeking is a referendum in the lower Benue and SE/SS area with the exception of Edo state.

So far, IPOB have not killed anyone or turned violent. It is actually IPOB that have been shot and killed and all manner of violence dished out on them by the security agencies of Nigeria just excercising their contitutional right to peaceful agitation.
