Ok, so how should we go about it?

If a senator from the east should move for a referendum in the National Assembly will they allow it pass?
Of course not, the motion won't even reach second reading.

You are not going about it in civilized manner and the people at forefront are acting more like thugs than cerebral agitators.
You don't go to look for separation by insulting people all over the social media.
Oh really? And how do you think Lugard brought us all together? By buying our fore-fathers playstation games? Those who see the call for Biafra as a call for war are usually those who don't have any sense of self determination. The very idea of freedom is something strange for them. Therefore, the idea that two people can shake hands and walk away doesn't come to their mind, only how to fight.

Nels4reel:
As days go by, the unity of the nation continues to widen due to what is been perceived as marginalization in the current appointments made by the president but the question is, does the president really understand the meaning of federal character, does he understand that the southerners are grumbling against this unjust cause and finally, does he understand that nation building does not work on a foundation of disunity. The situation in the country today reminds me of the travails of former PM of Iraq AL- Maliki , who for his hatred of Sunnis end up destroying his country.

I wonder if this will now be adopted as a standard in Nigeria politics, where winner takes it all. My question is this , are there Northerners who disagree with president on this issue?
Biafra is a task that must be done!

Foreign AffairsRe: UK Votes To Leave The European Union by attackgat: 5:47am On Jun 24, 2016
This should serve as a pointer to the fanatics and zombies of "one Nigeria". Referendum is a democratic instrument of letting people decide their sovereignty. No union is a permanent thing, no marriage is final. Therefore, if any of the ethnic nationalities that Lord Lugard forced into the illegal Union called Nigeria in 1914, such as my fellow Igbos, want to leave as a separate country, they should also be given a referendum

It will give me great joy to see him being sent to jail by the ICC for all the extrer judicial killings of unarmed protesters he superviced. Naturally, when Biafra is declared, the Court of Biafra will issue bench warrants for Arase, Burutai and Buhari for crimes against humanity.

and you do not have to defend corruption, it's a shame to wear uniform with full decoration to a pathetic civilian court to face corruption charges , if that was a military tribunal or court martial process it would have been different , Just try not to insult me or my family , if you do there'll be consequences, those who know might mention you and warn you and how many people has EFCC Indicted in recent times and came out innocent ? Dasuki , FFK , Olisa Metuah , EFCC wouldn't have invited him if he was innocent, but again, this is not about judging, it's about that is wrong , Armed forces Uniform is sacred, it shouldn't be ridiculed in court

Olalan ,Uricas , @here all seem to think the same thing
Stop talking like a kid. Your job is to follow the constitution. The constitution says that everyone is presumed innocent until a court on the land pronounces them guilty. That is the law. Just because a person is charged to court does not make them guilty, and if you think so, then you are the one breaking the law by going against the constitution. Zombies everywhere

Its not we didn't know that Buhari would 'Northernise' Government. There is no surprise there. Buhari is one of the 'Murtala Boys' who who's life mission it has been to keep the core North in control of political power in Nigeria. They have been conducting coups since 1966 to the 90's. I laugh at people who think that Buhari is a detribalised Nigerian who loves Nigeria. Buhari's main reason for coming back was to protect Northern interests.

That is the problem with you.. You think that once a republic is formed, one will want to form a Lord over the other... SMH.. .We are more United and I know it hurts you so much, take nairaland for example, you will never see an isoko /urhobo man attack or insult a brother from Calabar because of tribal sentiments but I can show you several fights between igbos from anambra and igbos from imo state and how they attack themselves constantly. ..you even relegated ebonyi to the backgrounds. .lol..
BTW how many votes did the igbos give in the last government in the election when compared to votes from delta, Rivers, Edo and other nigerdelta states? You guys were a monumental disappointment dispite your noise making and majority claiming rants.. ...Abeg go sleep
Instead of this long ranting, what you should do is support a referendum. Those want to be together, will decide, those who want to go will go, those who want to stay will stay. That way, everyone will be happy.

One of the most interesting write ups I have ever read on Nairaland. Inciteful and analytical. It lays all to bare about the fraud called Nigeria that was initiated by the Devil known as Lord Lugard in 1914.

I support the right to self determination!
I support the right of anyone to decide their political destiny!

I support autonomy, self rule and sovereignty!

And I reserve my God given right to decide for myself if I am a Nigerian or not!

FREEDOM!

You are the joker.. .Always thinking igbos are the unified when in actual fact igbos are the most divided tribe that speaks the same language.. .why do you think it is difficult for the igbos to even come out with a presidential candidate? I have stayed with several tribes and found out that igbos are the most divided people...If igbos were united why do they need the help of Niger deltans for their biafra dream? Why do they need militants from the ND region to help them... If nigerdelta is divided you can't get their help, that's a FACT.. .
Even ojukwu came out for a political post and his same igbos didn't vote for him.. .So who are you deceiving?
Nigerdelta republic has been on for years long before you guys thought of biafra so get that into your thick skull. .
Because igbos are divided does not mean other tribes are and any of them who are residents (take note of that word) and want biafra instead of nigerdelta can simply migrate to meet his people in enugu...
So you know any tribe in Nigeria that is united? Do you even know any family that is united? The Igbos you are talking about, were they United in who they voted for in the last presidential election or do you think now is before? You keep talking about this Niger Delta as if it is a tribe. The Niger Delta Republic you are talking about, probably the one Isaac Boro declared, was just for his Ijaw people only. Niger-Delta was originally a term the British used for Riverine communities, mostly Ijaws, but people now use it to describe anyone who isn't Igbo or Yoruba in the south of Nigeria. People like you keep saying that Igbos want join certain minorities in their Biafran dream but you will at the same time join more than 30 ethnic groups in your so called Nigeria Delta region, most of them are people you have historical connection with. It is really funny. How can an Urohbo man be claiming to be brothers with an Efik man? Even the Igbos who have a border with Efik/Ibibio's and interacted with them for hundreds of years have not claimed them, it is a Bini/Itsekiri/Isoko man on the other side of the River Niger who wants to claim them? Laughable. Well, a referendum will surely come some day and everyone will choose where they belong.

Nigerians should please endure this time and stop causing more damages and allow him to proove what he is doing.

Joker. There can't any Niger Delta Republic because there little or nothing that connects the more than 30 tribes in it. There is no unifying agent amongst them except Igbos because it is only Igbos and Igboids that share a land border with almost all of them. Should the minorities of Southern Nigeria secede, it is most likely that what will happen will be that the Ibibio/Efik nation in the East will become a separate nation while the Ijaw/Edoid in the west go their own way. Igbos/Igboid will go their separate way. Niger Delta Republic is a pipe dream.

PoliticsRe: Those Calling For Return Of Biafra Were Not Born During The Civil War – Buhari by attackgat: 10:33am On Jun 22, 2016
DONSMITH123:
President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that anyone who witnessed the civil war between the now rested Sovereign State of Biafra and Nigeria will never clamour for its return
The age of using the propaganda of "Biafra = war" no longer fools anyone. Biafra has never been about war, it has always been about self determination. It is the insistence of Nigerians such as Buhari that "we must be united by force" that has been the cause of war

He said, “Nigeria is a one united nation, which can never be divided by anybody’s selfish interest"
So it is when Nigeria is "one united nation under Nothern selfish interest" that everything is fine? Story for the birds and Lord Lugard.

Buhari, therefore, called on his Ministers and indeed, Nigerians at large to pray for the country.

The President noted the month of Ramadan as a special time when God listens and answers prayers of the faithful
We are also praying for the soul of the Igbo woman beheaded in Kano and all others that are yet to be killed.

He gave this charge Tuesday night while breaking fast with members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), mainly his Ministers at the presidential banquet hall of the Aso Villa, Abuja.

His words, “It strengthens our resolve to build our country to make it stronger and to make sure that the incoming generations are sufficiently motivated to be patriotic
Would that incoming generation include the hundreds of young Shia Muslims slaughtered in Kaduna? The hundreds of unarmed IPOB youth gunned down in cold blood? The areal bombardment of places the south south that has claimed many lives?

“It is no news that we are the biggest country in Africa, we are the economy engine of Africa, which are true by the way. But, we must always be patriotic in our dealings with others
Of what use are those titles if the life of the common man has become worse under you?

"This (Ramadan) month of prayers and service to God, let us keep on these prayers all the times, believing that God in His infinite mercy will listen to our prayers, give us peace, security and better the economy once more, so that we can quickly rebuild and even do more for the country"
Words of a born hypocrite

“Let me assure that the time of Ramadan is making us more conscious of what leaders at every level ought to do, and leading the people is not a joke. It means accepting responsibilities for good or wrong,’’ he said.

He further recalled the economic challenges and the agitations for the sovereign state of Biafra.

President Buhari reminded the agitators of the Nigerian Civil war that claimed over 2 million lives
Buhari should stop decieving people with this sort of talk. Buhari, tell Nigerians that it was the inordinate ambition of the Northern oligarchy, of which you are a long standing member, to control the political and economic life Nigeria that made you people come down to the East where people were enjoying their new found freedom to kill over 2 million people.

“We need a lot of prayer. Certainly, with the nation’s economy going down. We haven’t developed the agriculture; we are still trying to talk on those who will come and develop the solid mineral for us[
You Northerners definitely need a lot of prayers to convince international investors to come to an area known for sectarian strife.

“The militants in their various homes, we need to reflect very seriously on what happened between 1967 and 1970 where about two millions Nigerians lost their lives
Veiled threat? Northern soldiers like you killed the 2 million, it should be you people reflecting. You are stealing peoples resources in the name of 'one Nigeria' and the same time you are asking why they are militating? Joker!

"And at that time, as young military officers, you hardly heard of anything about petroleum or whatever money you got from it"
Come off it Gen Buhari. You young Northern officers knew what you were doing. It was all about the Oil. Who are you going to convince that you people did not know that Oil was a very valuable commoditie?

"Look at what Gen. Gowon said; `To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done’ and every soldier whether he has been to school or not knew what the General meant"
Yeah, we also know what it meant. "To keep Nigeria one is a task that must be done as long we have no Oil and Seaport"

"But, we were quarreling with our brothers, we were not fighting an enemy and then somebody is saying that once again he wants Biafra"
You northerners slaughtered over 50,000 of your so called "brothers" in broad daylight but you were not quarelling with them? Chei!

"I think this is because he was not born when there was Biafra. We have to reflect on the historical antecedent to appreciate what is before us now and what we intend to leave for our children and our grand children,’’ he warned
I do not need to be born before the war to know my right to self determination. The disasterous history of Nigeria is a good reason for people like me to strive not to have my kids born in it

President Buhari thanked the ministers and other members of the cabinet who have identified with his government despite all odds.

Speaking on behalf of FEC members, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, expressed gratitude to the President for inviting them to break the fast with him
The "commissioner" speaks

Buhari is a clown. Just look at a Gworo chewing Hausa/Fulani man who thinks the Igbo man is his brother. The same hypocrite called Buhari supports his Muslim brothers in Palestine getting their own country. The same hypocrite supports his fellow Muslims getting their own country of Western Sahara from Sudan. But when it come to Nigeria and Igbos, he will quickly remember 'one Nigeria forever'. The same Buhari is aware that Britain that created Nigeria had a referendum in 2014. So who is Nigeria not to have a referendum? This was the same referendum that Ojukwu offered to Gowon so that there would be no war, but Gowon said 'we must be one Nigeria'. This is the same silly sentiment that Buhari is re-echoing? In this age of self determination? The man is a joke.
