OP, you have to understand that the concept of freedom is not something most people outside the SS/SE understand. For most of them, Lord Lugard is God Almighty who made them 'Nigerians' in 1914! Mr. Agbor man, in all of Abioma (Good land in Igbo language) only Kwale has oil. Agbor has no oil though both of them are in IGBOLAND. In Agbor, they speak a distinct variety of the Igbo language. There is mutual intelligibility between the Igbo in Agbor and the one in Ikwerre and the rest of Igboland. The indigenous people of Anioma and Ikwerre are Igbos. Go and study history. No one is forcing anyone to be anything. Funnily enough, the Efik and Ibibio see the Igbo as a closer kin than they see the Urhobos, Isokos or Ijaws. The people of the present day Akwa Ibom suffered as much as the Igbos in the old Biafra. Ask the average Akwa Ibom man. If you have a referendum, I am sure the Ibibio and the Efik and the Ogoja will rather go with the Igbos than go with the Ijaws.

Back to the question on the thread. Niger Delta is merely a name given to oil producing states. Imo, Abia and Ondo are oil producing states. The SS is different from the ND although all the SS fall into the ND. Now, go back a little further and you will even see that the SS is merely a political creation to divide the region that led a rebellion against the state. Rivers, Akwa Ibom and some part of Delta State are geographically, and culturally part of Eastern Nigeria . There are no clear cut geographical demarcation between them. You can go to Imo from Rivers in less than 10 minutes. A community in Abia speaks Ibibio. Some communities in Akwa Ibom speak Igbo. The question of who is Igbo is irrelevant for now. What the SS and the SE need is to put their heads together and fight for the development of their lands and better treatment for their people. If they can get said perks in Nigeria, fine. If they can get it in Biafra or any other thing, I honestly don't care. I am an Igbo man, born in the North, raised in the North and East, educated in the South and Working in the West. I have seen the good in every region of this country and I will miss it if it ever breaks apart.

I'm in support of regionalism as against the total death of this country.

We will not reach such heights when we are still in Nigeria 'squabbling' with the Yoruba and Hausa man.

As for Niger Delta Republic, it sounds fine on paper but unrealistic. I am yet to see anyone carrying one single flag protesting for this unlike Biafra. Unlike, MASSOB, IPOB, BIM, BZF, there isn't a single organisation out there agitating for the minorities of Southern Nigeria to be independent, not one! To make matters worse for Niger-Delta Republic, Im not sure if their map actually joins together if you take out the Igbos and Igboids of Rivers state. Also, the Efik/Ibibio nation who are much closer to Igbos than anyone else have not indicated any interests in it. Either way, the indigenous of the land who the British criminal called Lord Lugard forced together into an unholy Union in 1914 must be granted a referendum to decide their political destiny.

It will be a day to treasure when we Igbos are no longer in 'one Nigeria' with the Hausa/Fulani and their Yoruba 'orderlys'

The fact that oil was discovered in the state does not necessarily make it an oil producing state.

Personally I think what has been working for Anambra is the appointment of technocrats as the head honchos in recent times

At the last sitting of the court, Adegboruwa informed the court that the respondents declined service of the court processes on the ground that the hearing date was too close. The lawyer therefore sought for a short adjournment from the court to enable the bailiff serve the respondents. Based on the development, the court adjourned the case to July 8 for hearing.

Adegboruwa in the suit is also asking the court to stop the government from alleged constant invasion of Biafra protests by soldiers and policemen, leading to severe human casualties by soldiers and policemen except, and in a manner, permitted and sanctioned by law. Respondents in the suit are President, Maj- Gen Muhammadu Buhari, the Federal Republic of Nigeria , the Hon Attorney- General of the Federation, the Inspector- General of Police, the Chief of Army Staff, the Chief of Navy Staff and the Chief of Air Staff. The Lawyer is asking the court for a declaration that the arrest, detention and killings of innocent and unarmed citizens of Anambra State, Enugu State, Imo State, Abia State and Ebonyi State by the respondents, in respect of Biafra peaceful and lawful gathering, constitutes a flagrant violation of the citizens’ fundamental rights guaranteed under sections 39 and 40 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 and Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10(1), 11, 20 and 28 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act, Cap. 10, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 and is illegal, unconstitutional, null and void. IPOB and MASSOB went the peaceful way, they were killed. It's only natural that IPOB and MASSOB will support the Avengers since peaceful protests is not what the Government wants.
