I said they were interested, as it is a business opportunity, didnt say the SAN are going to buy it, that is way tenders are open to SA companies and foreign companies and thus the tender that best reflect SANs requirements will be chosen.

I thought you said you have an accounting degree!
Tenders are not in accounting line, it's the job of purchasing and supply or supply chain management professionals, its public procurement.

You don't even know what accountants do.

I thought you said your South African education is better than my Nigerian school.

Sure you would say here tomorrow that pilots pilot ships through the ocean and sailors sail aeroplanes through the air.

Soweto school products on display here

If SA dont build there own OPVs(which i find very unlikely ) DCNS has shown a lot of interest and is marketing their Gowind class OPV for project biro:
Oh ! Changing story? You said SA will build your own Soweto designed OPVs, now it's France to your rescue. Confusion galore...proves Project Biro has no type of OPV to acquire since 10 years ago.

Paper project Biro has gathered too much dust, can they even find the document file?

NO NEW OPV FOR SHOUT AFRIKAA shocked shocked

They come to take money and repatriate profit back to Mzansi. ABSA is also rumoured to join suit very soon.

All Nigeria's spares and parts for cars assembly will be acquired in SA and shipped to Nigeria.
Nissan carefully ran away from South Africa to Nigeria, they were making losses due to your greedy union strikes.

Nissan South Africa and Nigeria repatriate profits to Japan.

All spare parts? No, deal was signed for Nissan to use local content from Nigeria, new government auto policy forbids whole sale import dependent assembly plants, it's a new regime and law

I keep stressing that you guys keep Ghana out of this comparison of d1ck sizes, but you keep bring us into this fvckkery.

Kwaaaa! @BOLDED! Coming from someone who is a citizen from a one party state, this is laughable! Ghanaians have shown the mettle in changing governments when the need arises, receiving lectures about democracy from Nigerians is an insult. tongue … What delusional lies are you making about EPA? First off! this agreement does not involve east Africans, secondly! You guys always W'ack off this your idea of controlling Ghana's economy, no wonder your country is the number one fraud capital on earth. What economic miracle exists in Nigeria? You only sit down for mannah(oil) to fall, whilst countries like Ghana do the hard work, see how your oil dependent economy is crumbling as a result of low prices in oil? Sloganiarism is the hallmark of the Nigerian, from giants of Africa to Africa's biggest economy, there is nothing to show for all these years of boastfulness. Y'all behave like the student whose father can't pay his school fees but has money to buy a cow to celebrate his birthday.
Dude, we are Nigerians, the Naija Ninjas of Africa, we fear nobody, not even the white nations. How do you think we will obey your command to 'Keep Ghana out of this talks' ?

Where were you this week when your Ghanaian country man Kwametut -AwodwaGyan was teaming up with South Africans to heap unprovoked insults on Nigeria?

This is our nairaland internet forum, nobody orders Nigerians around here, it's Lagos NOT Accra !!!

You are an ungrateful fellow, I spent one hour ending that information for you, you couldn't do it yourself. I got banned as agaugust posting Nigerian stealth combat catamarans from defenceweb, you try it and see . Ingrate.

215 ships was many years ago deal around 2008, since then we bought dozens more including the Dutch advanced vessels under construction now. We have over 300 total.

I posted photos of Nigerian stealth catamarans today because I know it shocks every South African.

Where's Nigeria's sea replishment vessel?

Like unicorns it doesn't exist, if say you wanted to attack Tanzania at sea and destroy somee naval you'd have to beg countries along the way.
Let South Africa go attack Angola at sea and learn what an Su-30 Flanker will do to a Valour Frigate

I beg to differ. SAN is a blue water navy while NN is still a brown water navy which makes it inferior to SAN in terms of the figures.
I proved my $2 Billion value. You should be honest enough to admit that.

Define blue water navy from dictionary and lets see where NNS centenary, NNS Unity, NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana will stand after sailing from Lagos to Australia without refuelling, I guess the deep ocean is not blue from Lagos to Australia, it's all brown swamp river water according to South African educational textbooks

Your navy doesn't have basics like;

- Replenishment ship
- Operational frigate
- Submarine

Nigeria has a coast guard - South Africa has the most advanced and sophisticated Navy in SSA
Your navy doesn't have basics like :

- High speed high sea interceptors
- Long endurance ocean patrol cutters that can sail around Africa
- Stealth OPV
- Stealth MPV
- Stealth IPV
- LUH helicopters

South African navy will be dribbled and defeated by high speed pirates at sea or on coastline

I beg to differ, SAN is worth more than NN with submarines and frigates. NN mostly use small patrol boats.
I did my math before I said both are $2 Billion navies.

12 Shaldag, OCEA and Eagle crafts alone cost $100 million.

2 stealth OPVs alone cost about $250 million

2 Endurance cutters Value is about $400 million

We have over 300 new patrol boats various sizes, all brand new.

4 Valour frigates and 3 Heroine submarines cost about $300 million each.

Nigerians think before they talk. Reason why the white man fears us more than they fear you South Africans

USN retired the ship in 2014 - because they dont sail obsolete ships

The Americans stripped the ship of all valuable systems before they transferred it to you

Prove these magical radar claims

SANDF has not yet deployed to directly confront rhino poaching, and yet it on the decrease

The entire Nigerian Navy is dedicated to combating piracy, and yet it is on the increase
Okay in 2013 US sailed around the world in an obsolete ship?

America does not deploy obsolete equipment overseas.

We don't need to drag this thread back, I posted full upgrade and regular modernization of the ships here few few months ago, I won't repeat it.

All American ships in that Hamilton class were stripped of missiles and CIWS many years ago during active service and America used them like that for many years without missiles

The rest of your post is just lies busted before on this forum

Thank Botswana for doing what SANDF failed to do cheesy

first, Nigerian Navy is not a $2 Billion navy

Second, Your coastal artillery is zero threat as I have proven many times

Third, range of our SSM's are over 20 km

Fourth, you are getting no mythical "chinese warship"

Fifth, Warrior class is capable of 34knts, Super Lynx is capable of 324 km/h

Nigeria is no where near us and the old man aradu will not change that equation
South Africa's burning desire for OPVs and IPVs proves you woke to realize that Nigerian navy was smart to build a powerful patrol force and you dream of copying us now....but you cannot, you invested your money into missile frigates and submarines which have not added any value to your economy or serve any purpose except photography for @THIZA cheesy cheesy

Shaldag speeds up to 50 knts I suppose. Show me proof of your old rust bucket Warrior class boat.

You don't know what pirate interception is, no South African navy boat can catch a pirate once they are 10km ahead of you, Lynx helicopter will fly above the pirate but you cannot stop them unless you fire torpedoe on a civilian vessel cheesy

To intercept high speed pirates you need to catch up side by side, overtake and make it impossible for him to keep sailing .

The Europeans and Israelis that build high speed sea interceptors are not fools, they have more helicopters and OPV than South Africa.

Different equipment are built for different challenges.

South Africa does NOT have a balanced navy, deal with it !

MikeCZAR:
Weren't you the one claiming "modern" here?

Your navy would perish, if they faced SAN. what would a Hamilton class vessel do? SAN OPV(s) can sink them easily.
NN and SAN are both $2 Billion asset naval forces with modern assets, but built to defeat different threats.

Nigeria has piracy threat that cannot be defeated by missile frigates and submarines, so we bought what we need.

South Africa has very little piracy threat because there is no oil and gas business in your poor oceans, all you have is fish, cheap fish of little value.

As long as South African navy is afraid to enter Nigerias 22km maritime law territorial waters for fear of our coastal artillery power, we are safe.

Meeting in neutral high sea, you have an edge today, but you will lose that edge when Aradu is refitted and the Chinese combat ship is transferred to us, maybe in 3 months time.

Today, South African navy has no high speed sea interceptor vesels like Nigerian navy Shaldags, SAN cannot challenge a fleeing pirate once it is 10km ahead of your Valour frigates, best you can do is to bl.ow up a civilain speed boat because your navy has no high speed vessel to catch up.

NN and SAN today have different purposes they are built to serve. None of us has a balanced navy yet

Long endurance vessels yet you cannot even secure your own waters?

Long endurance vessels that have no conventional warfighing capabilities?

Second hand, obsolete vessels that even the USCG turned their noses up to
US ship that sailed in service till 2014 is not obsolete, Americans don't deploy obsolete ships overseas, American upgrades equipment very regularly, more than any other country in this world.

NNS Thunder and NNS Okpabana have sea voyage range and radar range beyond the wildest dreams of SAN Valour frigates.

Nigerian waters are secure, we even save Ghana and Angola.

Piracy is a crime, you cannot stop crime, you only control and limit it.

Why has South Africa not eliminated Rhino poachers with your special rangers, special forces, army, and air force, plus invited American commandos that fought poachers in South Africa.

Why did Zuma run to hide 500 Rhinos in Botswana? South Africa is NOT safe.....even with your Gripen jet flying recce missions cheesy cheesy

T-72 performance in every war it has ever fought in shows us it is trash. No one takes poor quality Nigerian propaganda seriously.

T-72 is absolute trash and ranks amongst the worst tanks ever made, and is most certainly the worst MBT in existance. Simple as that.

Yes, poor nations cannot afford to buy from the rest so they buy from China, because their products are cheap knock-offs of Soviet era equipment.

Gripen is one of the best single-engine multi-role fighters in the world.
America was using 3rd generation Abrams tank with modern composite armour to defeat much older 2nd generation T-72 tanks of Iraq with old steel armour.

Let American Abrams tank fight Algerian T-90 tank of same 3rd generation and see what will happen.

Southies have a problem with logical reasoning

But it again proves that the Nigerian navy can't challenge SAN at sea.
No hurry, you built your missile ship fleet first, then you want to build OPV.
