Referendum is not WAR. Get it.

What else are you calling for, if not war, by threatening to crumble the 'zoo' and kill any group or member of the armed forces that dares to arrest nnamdi kanu (a mere citizen like everyone else)?

Nnamdi kanu and his violent group of Igbos need to be met with fierce and ruthless force now before everything goes out of hand and they run away to sierra leone leaving the innocents to die!
Politics / Re: IPOB Will Kill Anybody Who Comes To Arrest Me - Nnamdi Kanu by austinvsb1(m): 12:34am On Aug 28, 2017
This is not even a subtle threat anymore. The federal government and its armed forces would be stupid and seen as weaklings should they fail to incarcerate this guy soon, and i mean, soon!

What effrontery, threatening the president and the security services of the nation you still are a part of openly with death!! Nnamdi kanu's arrest should be the number one priority to ensure that nigeria doesn't plunge itself into another civil war!

A country like germany with strong anti-hate speech laws would have had this thing locked up ages ago!

Edit: I understand that there are paid pigs all over the forum whose task is to defend all things immoral and bad.

A party can sponsor independent candidates in certain regions/states to reduce chances of rival party candidates.

For instance if my party is not popular in the SS and SE, I can sponsor 2 or 3 Presidential Candidates in each region to split votes while I get block votes from my region.

So many ignorant comments, so little understanding.

Every single country of the world seek for FDIs. Even the US as the biggest economy in the world still seek for FDIs. In fact the US is the largest receiver of of Foreign Direct Investment in the world. Britain is planning of bringing FDI to us through our power and oil and gas sectors and some kids here are shouting enslavement. Can Nigerians alone provide the investment to develop these sectors? Would we prefer the Chinese or the Russians to invest in these sectors instead of the British? Foreign Direct Investment is coming from Britain you're complaining. FGN seeking for external loans you still complain. Yet, you complain of lack of development and lack of jobs. Will the investments needed to develop the country fall from heaven?

Fact is you don't have to complain about everything, sometimes just ignore what you have little or no understanding of.

I certainly am not one to dismiss any form of FDI but will I prefer China or Russia instead of Britain??Certainly CHINA without an iota of doubt!

What happens in the evening this ia majority option? Define having a rerun election with the same guys over and over?

Voting is a civic responsibility. There is no infringement of freedom or rights here. Australians have been doing this for years. they have some of the highest election turnout in the world and accurate representation of the people's voice and no one's been talking about freedom infringement. There is an ongoing debate in the UK to make compulsory voting a thing.

when blank takes the most votes (highly unlikely) the second highest vote becomes the representation of the majority.

if the majority votes blank or none of the above, it would even be more damaging to the Nigerian government and the oghanaeze ndi oli na ama.the political parties would be forced to substitute new candidates who would likely be rejected again. the only solution is to add referendum to the Nigerian constitution as is the case in modern Democratic constitutions. southern Cameroon peacefully seceded from Nigeria through a referendum.

You want referendum in the constitution but don't want to vote in representatives that legally demand for the inclusion. Who are this people?

Take your time to read and understand and maybe you'd be able to grasp that this is way beyond your current directionless biafra agitation and as a matter of fact may even help out in achieving your breakup real quick and without war.

if you all participated in elections and elected officials that represents your biafra agenda, it will signal to the rest of nigeria that the majority of igbos in the SE really do want biafra actualisation. UNTIL THEN, IPOB and biafra is just a group of lunatics and thugs headed by a fraudster derailing the peace of the south east.

Politics / Compulsory Voting: A Solution To IPOB Election Boycott Threat. My opinion by austinvsb1(m): 3:52pm On Jul 19, 2017
What is compulsory voting?

As practiced in Australia, Belgium, Singapore,Switzerland, Brazil, just to mention a few, Compulsory voting refers to laws which require eligible citizens to register for and participate in democratic election of representatives to form governance of their country, State or local government. Effective compulsory voting imposes penalties on citizens or constituents who fail to cast a vote in an official election and actively pursues eligible citizens who fail to register as voters as required by law

I think a piece of legislation should be passed both at federal and state level that:

- Effective immediately, All Nigerian citizens between the age of 18 - 70 (except those of unsound mind or those convicted of serious crimes) must be registered to vote and show up at the poll on election day.

- Nigerians who do not show up are subject to several public services disfranchisement (e.g ineligible to secure government jobs, increased health care cost etc) and fines. (at least until the next election period)

- Although those who were ill or otherwise incapable of voting on election day can have this limitations and fines waived after providing sufficient proof.

- The act should not explicitly state that a choice must be made, it only states that the ballot paper be 'marked'. Thus if a voter feels like no candidate represents his views and policies, a NONE OF THE ABOVE OR BLANK
option should be included.

- A JUSTIFICATION FORM for not voting should be made available to be filled at election centers & post offices nationwide. This is for voters who have other tangible reasons for non-participation[/b]
[/color]

Measures to encourage voting should include:

1. Nigerian voters can vote in an embassy if they are abroad or can empower another voter to cast the vote in their name; the voter must give a "permission to vote" and carry a copy of the voters card and their own on the actual elections.

2. those who were ill on voting day are excused by requesting a doctor to prove their condition.

3. those over 500 km away from their voting place are also excused by asking for a certificate at a police station near where they are.

ADVANTAGES & ARGUMENTS FOR THIS includes

- Voting is a civic duty comparable to other duties citizens perform (e.g. taxation, compulsory education etc).

- The Government (especially Legislature) reflects more accurately the "will of the electorate."

- Governments must consider the total electorate in policy formulation and management.

- Candidates can concentrate their campaigning energies on issues rather than encouraging voters to attend the poll.

- The voter isn't actually compelled to vote for anyone because voting is by secret ballot and they can always vote 'blank' or 'none of the above'

If you secede from Nigeria you will be assuring your own demise, as you will lose access to Africa's largest market of 200 million, and be forced to compete with Japan, China, and the west for access to foreign markets. Well to start with am a marine engineer and in the maritime sector in Africa the Ghanaian, Egyptian and south African licenses are well respected. The first job I got straight out of school was with my Ghanaian certificate and to think that the company was located in Texas. I am also working on another company now and once I told them where I graduated from they were very excited to have me join them but in Nigeria the reverse is the case our licenses are not even respected in Nigerian waters talk less of outside the country. Someone who has never even sailed before in Nigeria can forge a captains license. Nigerians ruined the maritime industry and the Nigerian license. The other federal universities like KNUST and university of Ghana are well respected all over. They have exchange programs with top universities in Europe and the USA, very quality lecturers. Their universities are well funded. Neat campuses, nice classrooms and well maintained hostels.

And Ghana has far better infastructure than Nigeria. Though they have smaller single carriage roads, roads are well maintained. They have constant electricity and their citizens live far better lives than Nigerians.

and this soo called respect was from who? let me take a quick guess. 'not blacks' for sure. #slavementality
