Ignorance Is Bliss? undecided

Education shouldn't be viewed as a tool for amassing wealth but rather a tool towards human enlightenment and self-development.

The moment you mark education as a stepping stone towards achieving wealth then you're already missing the point.

All humans are not born with the same intellectual capacity but it mustn't stop us from striving towards developing the human mind.

Civilization thrives on the continuation of education.

#KnowledgeIsPower
You're absolutely correct. My certificate is somewhere cooling off, I don't even think I'm ready to work with it anymore. At least, not with all these 100k and below jobs. May be DPR, NNPC, CBN, FIRS and co sha but not even the lecturing job.
And that won't stop me from giving my kids the best education I can afford. And thank God, they love books

Not everybody will prepare because the zombies are exempted.

Tell the fuel attendant that you're a zombie and he/she would sell fuel for you at #65.
It doesn't matter if the price goes down or up in as much as I'm not forced to live through what you are looking at in pictures below. I lived with that for 16 years of PDP misgovernance. One litre was being sold at N600! Never again!

Why couldn't they invest the #400k into something productive or even plead with the victim to show them the way to multiply that money to better their living standards?

They just wasted the poor guys life over nothing tangible.

So sad.
I don't think they succeeded.

Gas now 10k per 12.5kg

Now charcoal is about 4K cheaper.

EducationRe: "Niqab Ban At FUNAAB Is Illegal" - MURIC. Calls For Protests by authority2006(m): 1:59pm On Nov 29, 2021
Seun:
As reported on Nairaland in 2017, the Federal University Of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) banned the niqab, which is an Islamic dress that covers the entire body of a woman except her eyes. The reason for this was obviously to ensure that people on campus could be identified. They didn't ban the hijab, which covers a woman's face and neck, or the chador, which covers a woman's entire body except her face.

Recently, a former student of FUNAAB came to the university dressed in a the niqab. The security men insisted that she must remove her face-covering veil before she could enter university. Subsequently, the university confirmed that the niqab is banned at FUNAAB.

Now the Muslim Rights Concern, a very important muslim rights organization headed by Professor Ishaq Akintola, is challenging the niqab ban at FUNAAB. According to him, the niqab ban violates the freedom of religion guaranteed by the constitution, which says "Every person shall be entitled to freedom of ... religion ... to manifest and propagate his religion or belief", so it's illegal.

He said, "No institution of learning, from primary to tertiary, whether federal, state, or even private, has the right to prohibit the use of hijab or niqab. It is a contravention of the provisions of Section 38(i) & (ii) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended. To that extent, therefore, all anti-niqab pronouncements, memos, circulars, posters, etc issued by FUNAAB are null, void and of no legal effect whatsoever. Same goes for all such declarations and actions in other academic institutions throughout Yorubaland."

He provided a possible compromise to address the security concerns: "if the authorities are not just keen on profiling Muslims, all they need to do is to ensure that Muslim women wearing niqab or hijab are checked by female security personnel. Their identities can also be verified by female officials who will take them to one side and take a look at their faces and cross-check on their identity cards."

He called for muslim students to take action against the niqab ban, saying, "FUNAAB has crossed the red line. This oppression must stop and Muslim students have to take their destiny in their hands or the humiliation will continue ad infinitum. From now on, any institution in the South West that messes up with Allah-given fundamental human rights of Muslim students will face the wrath of the students." (peacefully)

Way to go. They always shout Islamisation and religions persecutions but they are the ones persecuting Muslims in Nigeria. It's even worse with southern Christians. Hypocrites

Irresponsible parenting has left our communities awash with irresponsible youths perpetrating crime at will like its a hobby. What has the woman done to them to deserve death. Dispossession her of her personal effects wasn't bad enough they had to take her life. Bunch of cowards.
I'm thinking what could they have possibly achieved by killing her? It didn't make sense unless they are ritualists or she was hated by some people or someone like her hubby sent the killers after her.

I packed my goods in one park and started looking for a place to pass the night, I went to a police station but they were questioning me like a criminal even after narrating my ordeal to them. I left and went the a church and the security turned me back that they only allow people to sleep in the church during vigils. I ended up sleeping in an uncompleted building in the state university.
If your dad could lend you 100k and you were still an undergraduate, I wonder why you were putting yourself through all those stuff. I'm a bit confused, I just don't get it.
