A clogged evaporator won't allow the cabin fan suck in air across the fins of the evaporator. This in turn won't allow the AC cool well. Another thing a clogged evaporator would do is the formation of ice on the body of the evaporator. This constant water logging/ Ice forming might cause corrosion on the evep, which will eventually cause leakage.

You are actually right, nice attempt,but this is not the biggest issue , but if I may ask further, what is the science behind the formation of ice on blocked evaporator .

i did not want to answer the question oh, i just wanted to point the above fact out to intending participants of this wonderful thread.

The main purpose of this thread is get more enlightened on ac system, debunk some wrong notion and show case better testing met and troubleshooting of ac system.
Let kick start this thread with this short quiz .
What do you think will be the long term effect and the most expensive repair that a clogged evaporator will cause on ac system .

Imagine someone even suggested that op should do outright change of compressor if filter is ok ,just like that And no need to flush the ac after u change compressor ,ok na , ignorance combine with poverty no go kill us .
My advice to the op is to find a recommended tech to check the ac for him and do away with all these change this ,change that suggestion for what they don't even know the root of issue.

We may call them all sort of unpleasant names but the fact remains that they are still better than our B.Eng, engineers who take their cars to them to fix.

The so- called B.eng shows the decay level and rots in our educational system and we can't use this semi illiterate guys as yard stick ,cos they are engineers on paper, no innovative ideas that solve practical problems.
Modern cars have gone so much sophisticated technologic wise that it takes science oriented geeks to handle them .
I had had opportunity to attend a lot of automotive seminars and workshop abroad and I sees alot of professors and PhD holders running a auto workshop and coming out with lot of high level testing methods and contributing innovative ideas into the industry just because their society value system strive on science knowledge that solve practical problems unlike own which is why you see the artisans handling what the science guys are suppose to take charge .
Seriously the artisans "kazeem" have no business handling sensitive parts cos their mind can't just comprehend those high tech stuff ,and you the car owner will be putting yourself at risk as well.

Seriously, kazeem are only good for performing plug and play job on your car like changing suspensions, brake ,etc and not for handling sensitive and high level jobs that concern modules ,ecu ,wiring etc cos they will mess u up .the guy must have ignorantly fried your ecu

What you just experience is what is being referred to as brake fade .As result of heat generated ,your brake fluid that is in liquid phase boiled and turned to vapour and since vapor is compressible unlike liquid that why u experienced that spongy feeling on the brake cos instead of pressing again liquid your are pressing against air .

You will need to check electrically to understand what ecu means by "blower motor locked " error code. Nobody else can accurately decipher the issue than the person physically present testing and troubleshooting ,any suggestion is a mere guess talk .

Don't assume or suggest, do a test to confirm the root cause 100% .
A fan motor is basically an actuator driven by power and ground and this is what you test for instead of checking for fuse only, and the result of this test is what will guide you to the next test or the root cause. The principle is this : test and test and more test till you hit the target will make a better tech instead of throwing parts which is tantamount to wasting of scarce resources and more confusion.

okay, can i tell you the truth? that area is over saturated.

Maybe u mean the local kazeem & rewires that are notorious for adding more to car problem in name of solving problems, those one are common around around na but getting a graduate good & competent professional auto electrician with up-to-date auto diagnostics skill is a very rare skill, even in my outfit we are currently looking for one to employ in our workshop but those skill set are not available what we can do to salvage the situation is to train those with potential and recruit them. Same issue shops abroad are currently trending facing as well .
Those skillset are getting scarce by the day cos manufacturer are churning out more electrical complexity in vehicles ever than what today technicians can handle.
Unfortunate majority of our so-called graduate autodiagnocian are lazy and prefer to maintan status scope and are not interested in exploring futher knowledge except to be chasing codes upadan and making guesses based on mere codes ,which is nit different from our local kazeem methods.
however nowadays modern cars have evolved and they demand alot more of core electrical skill to understand them fully .

Forget about the scan dtc ,describe the issue u are experiencing .

Your fan has been tampered with.

Spacer will not always works for some some model of vehicle cos the ecu strategy employed to decipher efficency of cat is not alway the same accross board especially for the late model cars ,also it is also important to know that not all P0420 codes implies issues with cat cos what comes to minds of average tech or diy without any second thought is to change of cat blindly which can lead to a very expensive repair which doesn't solve the issue. what P0420 implies technically is that there is imbalance of stoic ratio which can set up a condition that is not perfect for the cat to operate at its optimum condition not alway about the cat itself.
So when dealing with the dreaded P0420 code ,apply caution ,avoid throwing parts blinding so that u don't get burnt .
To sum it up ,if your vehicle fall into the category of late model (2010-till date) don't even bother with spacer ,the cat efficency strategy has been modified to beat that hack .

I use a carmy 04 model v6, 1mzfe.

Pls of recent I got my CEL on, scanned it the codes are
P0300
P0301
P0303
P0305
P0420
P0430

Have changed spark plugs, checked coils (with a multimeter they are okay, even swapped coils, since it's a V6 but I still get misfire codes in the banks 1) changed fuel filter, gotten new air filter, serviced fuel injector, at a time I swapped the fuel injector bank 1 to bank 2 and vice versa.

Still get these codes come up after covering 75Miles.

My kazeem says the car compression is okay,


I don't feel any drivability issues. It's revs well and fires well on the road. My mech even took it for s spin drive and said that the car picks very quickly and well unlike other cars he has driven.

I need your help in resolving this issue as am not comfortable with these CEL codes being on.
