Politics / Work Begins On Lusada-Atan Road In Ogun State (Photos) by AutoReportNG: 12:23pm On Aug 21, 2019
Ask anyone in Ogun State about the Lusada-Atan roads, we are sure they won't have a good story to tell. The Lusada-Atan Road has been a nightmare to all road users in this place. Despite housing mega industries, both the Federal and State Government have left the populace to suffer the plight of these bad roads. It is disappointing that even the industries on this road are helpless and can't help to reconstruct these roads either. The former Ogun State Gov., Mr Amosun made several promises to fix the road but nothing has been done so far.

According to Punch Metro, residents, commuters and motorists plying the Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road in the Ado Odo-Ota Local Government Area and the Agbara-Igbesa Local Council Development Area of Ogun State have lamented the hardship they are facing as a result of the poor state of the road traversing the areas.

“Two Chinese companies are handling the project; one is handling the Lusada-Igbesa end and another is handling the Atan to Agbara end, which is a federal road. But we have said on several occasions that most of the roads that we are doing in Ogun State are federal roads and this is because most roads that link major cities in every state are federal roads.

A closer look, however, seems work has begun on the Lusada-Atan road, according to a report by one of the indigene in this area name Gbenga Oyero, according to him he wrote...

On Lusada-Igbesa and Atan-Agbara roads. Ogun-Guangdong Free Trade Zone did well with the level of work done on Lusada-Igbesa road. I'm satisfied with the quality so far. Safety, commendable. Speed needs to be doubled. We need explanations about why the excavation is temporarily stopped at FTZ gate. We were told the construction would be extended to the township roads.

Palliatives on Agbara-Lusada road is commendable. At least, it reduces the usual deaths, accidents, and nightmares on the road. I had a smooth ride this Ileya.

It is time Ogun State Government connected Igbesa to Lagos from Itekun and Totowu (Camp Davies road) so as to reduce traffic and unbearable loads on the roads mostly caused by heavy trucks from hundreds of industries in the FTZ and Agbara. Not mentioning numerous socio-economic opportunities that will come with it. Igbesa to Isashi in Lagos is about 10 minutes. Igbesa to Igando in Lagos is about 20 minutes.

If this is done, the traffic (stress) on the roads will reduce heavily. The roads' lifespans increased. Expenditures on periodic maintenance reduced and the roads will be safer.

These are images from the road of the Lusada-Atan road...

MudRaker:
Helipads are meant to serve as visual markers and provide clearance for safe landings from obstructions and also what is referred to as "whiteout" or "Brownout" landing conditions where the aircraft lands on a snowy or dusty surface respectively.

These two adverse landing conditions reduce vertical downward visibility to zero making it impossible for the pilot to gauge how close or far he is from the surface.

This was what led to the crash involving the VP when the Caverton crew attempted to land in a dusty open field in Kogi.

The pilot couldn't see how close he was to the surface as a result of the downdraft that lifted dust debris (brownout) and so he hit the ground with too much vertical uplift making the chopper to overturn.

This is why Helipads are also very crucial to safe landings where altimeter settings are not available.

Well Said... Thanks

One of the first thing the federal government did when Pres. Buhari won the presidential election was to construct a helipad at his residence in Duara. Even though this cause for public debate as many can not differentiate between a helipad and an airport but which was cleared by the federal government.

A helipad is a landing area or platform for helicopters and powered lift aircraft.

While helicopters and powered lift aircraft are able to operate on a variety of relatively flat surfaces, a fabricated helipad provides a clearly marked hard surface away from obstacles where such aircraft can land safely.

Larger helipads, intended for use by helicopters and other vertical take-off and landing aircraft, may be called vertiports.

A helipad is a specially designated landing pad for helicopters. They usually follow a standard design of a round circle with a large letter ‘H’ on it. Helicopters are vulnerable to obstacles when landing, so a clearly marked landing space is necessary. Helipads can be found at hospitals, hotels, and a variety of businesses and venues, either in the grounds or on top of buildings. They are also widely used at military installations and on ships.

The first helipads were used in the Korean War in the early 1950s when the US Army used helicopters to evacuate wounded soldiers from the frontline battlefields. Without a clear landing area, the helicopters would not have been able to land safely in the country’s mountainous terrain. The use of helipads for helicopters was further expanded during the Vietnam War when they were used to move troops and military supplies around the country.

Most times you either see a helipad with letter H in a circle or in a triangle but many do not know what this means. A triangle is used when environmental or safety concerns demand helicopters to land into a certain direction, a circle when the pilot is free to choose based on wind direction (you want to land into the wind when possible).

Whats your take on this airbag?
Health / This Wearable Airbag For The Elderly Could Help Save Their Lives During A Fall by AutoReportNG: 3:48pm On Aug 19, 2019
A company in China has designed an inflatable belt that rapidly inflates to protect the person wearing it during a sudden fall to the ground. The belt works similarly to a car's airbag system, making use of a micro-gyroscope that accurately detects the speed and the angle of the fall. A microprocessor then triggers the airbag to inflate within 0.18 seconds.

Created by Suzhou Yidaibao Intelligent Technology, a company with experience in making airbags for cars, the belt is an innovative product aimed specifically for the needs of the rising population of the elderly in China. The country with 1.395 billion people has had a declining population growth with the number of retirees rising fast in recent years.

According to Song Zhangxuan, the deputy manager of the tech company that makes the belt, as reported by Euronews, "there are two main problems" they decided to focus on:

"There are two main problems we focus on," he said. "One is how to judge an older man's posture in real-time, so how to tell when he is about to fall down. The airbag has to pop up before he falls down so he can be protected by the airbag.

"The second is how to deflate the airbag within 0.18 seconds. According to our statistic, an old man falls to the ground in 0.3 seconds, so technically the inflation has to complete in 0.18 seconds."

China's population growth rate continued to slow in 2018, spelling possible trouble ahead as a swelling number of retirees pushes up against a shrinking labour pool. Figures released in January by the National Bureau of Statistics put the population at 1.395 billion in 2018.

Care for the elderly is a rising government concern as the working-age population continues to fall as a percentage of the total.

Song adds: "According to our statistics, China has the biggest elderly population in the world, which is about 200 million. To roughly estimate, if we share 5 percent of the market, that is nearly 10 million, which is a fairly big market for us."

Watch the video below and share your thoughts about it! What other needs of the elderly should we try to look into?

Car Talk / The New Bugatti EB110 SS That Costs 4.8 Billion Naira by AutoReportNG: 11:36am On Aug 19, 2019
Earlier this week, Bugatti posted an extremely cryptic video showing the rough outline of a possible EB110 tribute car, and now we know why.

Set to debut this weekend at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Bugatti has revealed the EB110 Hommage (AKA the Centodieci) in all its glory, and it's stunning.

According to reports, At the front end, the Hommage features a horseshoe grille that is much smaller than the example found on the current Chiron, but similar to the one found on the original EB110. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like these are functional.

Situated behind the side windows is a set of intakes that were also inspired by the EB110. Its influence is apparent at the rear end as well, where the incredibly thin LED taillights pay homage to the old exhaust vents.

In standard Bugatti style, the Hommage sits upon a set of very over-the-top wheels that look like their recent wheels, but are obviously inspired by the original ones.

Considering that it is based on the Chiron, we can imagine that the Hommage makes use of the same 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine that produces 1102kW and 1600Nm of torque. This allows for a 0-100km/h time of 2.4 seconds, and a 420km/h top speed.

Recent reports have mentioned that production of the EB110 Hommage may be limited to just 10 units worldwide, but those claims aren't confirmed. Alongside this number, a potential price tag of $13 million (4.8 billion naira) has been thrown around.

Car Talk / Acura Type-s, Successor To The Acura TLX Sedan, Unveiled - Photos by AutoReportNG: 4:41pm On Aug 14, 2019
Acura is trying to bring more performance back to its lineup, and the Honda luxury brand is reviving a name that hasn’t been seen in more than a decade to do it. Debuting during Monterey Car Week, the Acura Type S concept heralds the return of the Type S name to Acura’s lineup, as well as new, sportier versions of Acura’s current models.

The Type S concept is a four-door sedan with aggressive styling. Acura said some of the styling elements were influenced by the ARX-05 race car, but we see a lot of Chevrolet Camaro in the open-mouthed grille, slim headlights, and upright front end. The Type S concept wasn’t intended for production, just to herald the return of the Type S badge. As during the previous run in the early 2000s, all Type S production models be based on existing Acura models.

Between 2001 and 2008, the Type S badge marked the sportiest Acura models sold in North America. It may have been a step below the Type R models sold in other markets at that time, but it showed Acura was still committed to performance in the afterglow of the brand’s 1990s golden age.

During its first stint, the Type S badge was applied to sportier versions of the 3.2CL and RSX coupes, as well as two generations of the TL sedan. Acura said it will launch two new Type S models over the next few years. The first will be a Type S version of the TL’s successor, the TLX, Acura confirmed. The automaker did not say what the second new Type S model would be, but wouldn’t be surprised if a crossover, perhaps the RDX, got the Type S treatment.

It's obvious you're not studying and following successful online businesses. This
is the problem that the majority of Nigerians have. Successful domainers on this
thread INVEST quality hours studying what works and what is not working.

Until then, wait for another 5-7 years to make a dime online.

I don't believe in replying every mentions but at times, its important to put the record straight. We all know LIB and according to her, it takes her like 5years before she starts cashing in. We need to stop this mentality of easy and quick money flows on the internet, everything in life is about steps, process and doesn't come easy. For your domain to even rank on google despite your SEO takes at least 3-4 months, don't tell me otherwise cos its what I do daily, I spend at least 10hrs on my blog alone developing, writing and researching for quality news.

In conclusion, there is money online no doubt but it takes days of quality work, research and not wanting to quit when all seems bleak but not as sudden as you put it.

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate a million. Even if we're
not working together, I can offer suggestions for you here and it
may benefit others as well.

For you to make passive income online with a domain name, you can
do several things with it. First, start a blog on it. You can create
a blog yourself with self-hosted WordPress blog. Create quality content
regularly that targets long tail keyword phrases and publish them on
your blog.

Thereafter, you can monetize it with Google Adsense. If you're religious
(no, FANATIC) about this, you can make between $50 and $100 per day. From
here you'll be able to raise sufficient fund to start a travel agency
company if that is your desire.

Remember, starting a brick-and-mortar company in Nigeria requires a lot
of funds, professional certifications and greasing of government officers'
hands.

Secondly, you can build an authority website with lots of targeted traffic.
Sooner or later, other webmasters will notice you when your web pages
consistently show up for "money keywords" on the first page of popular
search engines such as Google.com, Bing.com, Yahoo.com, etc.

Before you know it, they will start approaching you to sell advertising
spaces on your blog or CPM impressions.

All in all, let me know what exactly you want and I may be able to help.
For me, time is of the essence and that is why I was reluctant to join
any forum thread in Nigeria. But because domaining is my "first love"
online since 2007, I decided to be truly Nigerian here.

Thank you

See the way you typed it as if its that easy... What you typed here may take 5-7years before he starts to cash it. If na so e easy, bloggers go don hammar and buy companies. What happens to days of humble beginning?

Science/Technology / See China's First Airplane Developed By Private Firm, Sets For Commercial Sales by AutoReportNG: 12:45pm On Aug 09, 2019
China's first aircraft independently developed by a private company, the Guanyi GA20, flew at a height of 3,000 meters for the first time during its 50th test flight on Wednesday, and secured intent orders for 100 aircraft.

The GA20 is a four-seater, general-purpose, single propeller-driven aircraft developed by Guanyi General Aviation, a private company in Shanghai. It is produced at an industrial base in the Nanchang High-tech Zone, Jiangxi province.

On Wednesday, pilot Christian Briand boarded the plane at 12:00 pm and flew it into the sky at 12:03 pm at the Hengdian General Airport in Zhejiang province. The 39-minute flight aimed to test flight envelope extension and load factor.

The test showed that the GA20 has the shortest takeoff distance of 400 meters and a landing distance of 350 meters, with a maximum mileage of 1,200 kilometers and a maximum speed of 265 kilometers per hour.

The GA20 can climb up 5 meters per second, and at the height of 2,600 meters, its fuel consumption is 32 liters per hour. Its general performance is better than all the global competitors.

Zhu Songhua, the chairman of Guanyi, said the plane reached a height of 3,000 meters safely showed its excellent performance and it will open up a path for China's independently developed general aircraft to go global.

Wutong Aviation Sci-Tech Co, a leading private aircraft service company in China, signed the underwriting agreement with Guanyi on Wednesday order of intent for 100 planes.

Zhao Haiyang, general manager of Wutong Aviation, said the GA20 has first-class performance and advanced self-owned core technologies in the world, and thus the company is confident of its sales in the global market.

Guanyi began to develop the GA20 for multiple purposes such as aviation training, private aviation, and tourism in 2014. The plane made its debut in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi, on May 21, 2018.

With an overall length of 8.1 meters and a wingspan of 9.4 meters, the plane is powered by a Lycoming O-320 engine and equipped with a Garmin aviation system.

On Sept 19, the plane made a 26-minute maiden flight at an airport in Nanchang, and ascended to a height of about 300 meters, made a number of routine tests, before landing smoothly.

This is the 50th test flight for the GA20, and the first time it has reached the 3,000 meter mark, a milestone in the maturity testing of the aircraft.

The GA20 has a maximum range of 1,200 kilometers and can reach 265 kilometers an hour.

The good performance of the GA20 raises confidence in high tech and intelligent products made in China, said Zhu Songhua, the chairman of the Shanghai-based Guanyi General Aviation. He added that he hopes planes made in China demonstrate to the world China's strengths in core technology.

An order for 100 planes was made to Guanyi General Aviation by China's private flight platform, Wutong Airlines, on the day of the latest test flight.

On March 11, GA20 completed its first public test flight at Hengdian General Airport in Zhejiang.

Guanyi will complete 200-300 test flights in accordance with Civil Aviation Administration of China requirements and plans to start the plane's industrialization process, after obtaining certification, around 2020.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has clarified its stance on the ruling of the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos that fines imposed on motorists by the Agency are illegal.

Reacting to the judgment, the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olawale Musa explained that LASTMA does not and will never commit any illegality in violation of the Law while discharging its duties.

Musa maintained that LASTMA as a law-abiding institution had always complied with the ruling delivered by the Federal High Court on September 16, 2011, in Suit No FHC/L/CS/653/2011, by issuing offenders a referral notice for appearance in Court, stating the specified fines and penalties.

The General Manager further stressed that "No LASTMA official has the power to impose fine on any traffic offender without recourse to the court which then pronounces judgment on the matter".

He hinted that some motorists, who accepted guilt for their offence and were apprehensive of facing court action, on their own volition opted to pay the stipulated fines to avoid penalties that could result from further inspection of their vehicles.

He assured members of the public that LASTMA remains fair but firm in its responsibilities of traffic management and compliance, saying “we will not condone any illegality in our operations in any way, but rather intensify our efforts at ensuring compliance as well as safe and free-flow of traffic by the commuting public on every road in Lagos State".

While assuring the residents of effective and efficient traffic management, he enjoined all Lagosians to cooperate with LASTMA officials in order to ensure that traffic gridlock is reduced to the barest minimum by obeying traffic rules and regulations, especially during the upcoming festive period.

Recall that the recent judgment resulted from the appeal to an earlier ruling delivered by Justice Okon Abang declaring the arrest, seizure and continuous detention of an applicant, Mr. Jonathan Odutola’s pick-up van (BE 736 KSF) by LASTMA in March 2011 as unlawful, illegal and a breach of his fundamental right to human dignity as guaranteed by Section 34 of the 1999 Constitution.

Politics / Killing: RRS Restore Normalcy In Ikotun - Photos by AutoReportNG: 4:20pm On Aug 07, 2019
It's that season when miscreants engage themselves on seniority and who takes charge of the tolling of vehicles but things not to go as planned as they end up causing chaos and disrupt the peace of the community.

The Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command has restored normalcy in Ikotun area of the State after pandemonium broke out following the killing of a young man.

More Police Officers have been mobilised to the axis.

Vehicles have returned to the road, while RRS Head of Operations is engaging stakeholders in the area on the need to eschew violence.

Car Talk / Hyundai Launches Car With A Roof-based Solar Charging System by AutoReportNG: 3:54pm On Aug 07, 2019
Hyundai Motor Company has launched its first-ever car with a solar roof charging system. In an announcement Friday, the business said that the technology would be used on the latest version of its Sonata Hybrid and then introduced to other vehicles over the coming years.

The idea is for the solar roof to support the car’s electric power source, boost fuel efficiency and lower carbon dioxide emissions, Hyundai said. Silicon solar panels have been attached to the roof of the vehicle and can charge while the car is moving.

Hyundai added that 30% to 60% of the car’s battery could be charged using solar technology. With six hours of charge per day, the vehicle could increase travel distances by 1,300 kilometres per year.

In a statement, Heui Won Yang, head of the Hyundai Motor Group’s Body Tech Unit, said that the technology allowed its customers to “actively tackle” issues related to emissions, adding that the business hoped to expand the technology to vehicles with traditional internal combustion engines.

The vehicle is being sold in South Korea and will also be released in the North American market, although there are currently no plans to make it available in Europe.

The idea of attaching solar panels to vehicles is not a new one, and neither is it restricted to land-based modes of transport.

In August 2018, an unmanned, solar-powered aircraft from the European aerospace giant Airbus completed a maiden flight lasting 25 days, 23 hours, and 57 minutes. In 2016, the Solar Impulse 2, a manned aircraft powered by the sun, managed to circumnavigate the globe without using fuel. The trip was completed in 17 separate legs.
