Sorry, I don't do this but I am too busy for this Sir... I am not LASG or EAC Rep, channel all your complaints to the right channel. If you don't quote me or mention me, I won't even reply. We are here to educate and if you felt otherwise, LASG, EAC are both on twitter and they are active, you can always call them out.

Our posts are for educational purposes, we are not paid either are we sponsored.

Sorry for the pains you go through, maybe next week, we will try to visit the place and join you to create an awareness to the state government.

More

I think you need to reliase two things though I am not a rep for Eko Atlantic City or for LASG... Alpha beach is quite different from EAC... EAC is the Bar-Beach that was reclaimed for this project and which was being developed to curtail these menace. I was in VI at the weekend and I took a stroll close to place and I didnt notice any of this.

Alpha beach is a private beach thats is located in Lekki, EAC is located in VI, whats the correlation?

The Great Wall of Lagos was designed to protect EAC from Ocean and flooding, Alpha Beach is not in this plan. Maybe you can take some moments and read about the planning and execution of this place.

Cheers bro!

Car Talk / See The Breathtaking Concept Proposal For Uber Air Skyport By Corgan by AutoReportNG: 2:55pm On Jul 08, 2019
Imagine a Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt where you can park your chopper close to your office and get in where you are done for the day.

Uber wants to revolutionize the way we travel, and the future of urban air mobility might be closer than you think. No, it’s not a chopper, it’s something more affordable transportation service that we common people would have access on it. Just imagine soaring above traffic where you can arrive at your office or airport at the right time. Corgan CONNECT | EVOLVED is a concept proposal for an Uber Air Skyport, this infrastructure features scalable, connected, and sustainable design that would change the way we travel.

Corgan prefers to implement a scalable design that integrates with existing infrastructure and considers its environmental impact. This futuristic skyport is comprised of a kit of parts that can be customized for a variety of budgets and locations, therefore, it can be installed in most places to encourage a lifestyle of aerial mobility and connectivity.

Corgan Architecture and Design Firm has designed a Connection Plaza for this scenario. It’s a gateway and meeting point for a community that includes restaurants, retails, hosts cultural or art events, it also connects to last mile transportation services such as bike and scooter charging stations. Uber lobby would become the first touchpoint where passengers and UberAir can meet. The reception services can help passengers to customize their air travel experience with biometric ticket and security validation, everything can be done in less than a minute. Next, passengers can go to the Quick Queue Lounge on the elevated Flight Deck. On this deck, eVTOLs would be in constant and fluid motion, especially during peak hours with potential of 25 takeoffs and 25 landings every hour, carrying over 200 passengers per hour.

CONNECT | EVOLVED Air Skyport for Uber has been designed to be a practical system of modular components that can be built upon demands for urban air mobility. As demand grows, it would be easy to expand and create additional landing or parking pads with minimal additional development. The sustainable design of this skyport utilizes innovative water management systems, air purification methods, and on-site energy generation. It harnesses kinetic energy of visitors through the floors, while green spaces such as urban farms, parks, and playgrounds help reduce the heat island effect in cities. During the day, it harvests sunlight to create soft illumination during the evening.

Just as we have the great wall in China so also we have the Great Wall of Lagos, we know that many people may not know about this reason why AutoReportNG decided to research and bring this to your notice.

Many people may not have heard about this but it exists, yes, we have The Great of Wall of Lagos in Lagos, Nigeria.

While The Great Wall of China was designed for tourism and to promote the cultural value of the Chinese, The Great Wall of Lagos was constructed to protect the shoreline of Victoria Island and its environs from the ocean surge.

The Great Wall of Lagos was constructed to protect the shoreline of Victoria Island and early phases of Lekki from coastal erosion. Before the construction of The Great Wall, the waves from the Atlantic Ocean would regularly flood Victoria Island and the early phases of Lekki, threatening countless lives and businesses. The Great Wall of Lagos, reaching a total of 8.5km in length when completed, has already achieved its primary goal of protecting Victoria Island from Coastal Erosion. Once completed the wall will protect the early phases of Lekki from coastal erosion as well.

Over the last 100 years, pounding waves from the Atlantic Ocean have eroded the land off Lagos, bringing the sea closer to the financial centre of Victoria Island. The threat of serious flooding was a major concern. Before the Great Wall, tidal surges used to regularly cause water and debris to spill over onto the main coastal highway – Ahmadu Bello Way.

Today the highway is clear from flooding, already protected, thanks to the development of Eko Atlantic.

The Design Of The Great Wall Of Lagos In Depth

The Great Wall of Lagos is a large sea revetment that protects the emerging new city as well as Victoria Island from the threat of flooding due to ocean surge. The Wall was designed by Royal Haskoning Marine Engineers from Holland: world-renowned for their over 100 years of experience in urban planning and developments. Royal Haskoning, in their design process, took into consideration the Atlantic’s tough nature and designed a wall that would more than sufficiently protect the city.

At the end of this design process, Royal Haskoning took this design to the Danish Hydraulic Institute and built a full-scale model of the wall to be built in Eko Atlantic City. The sea wall was subjected to the worst waves predictable in a 1,000 years cycle. The finished sea wall model withstood the tests without showing any signs of distress.

Testing for the planned 8.5 kilometer long sea wall finished early 2009, and construction began on The Great Wall of Lagos in mid-2009. Today, you can see the progress being made every day off Ahmadu Bello Way. As of today Eko Atlantic City has completed over 6.5 kilometres of sea wall and grows daily.

As the final step to the Great Wall of Lagos, an 8.5 kilometre long, 12.5 metre wide, promenade will be built on top of the Great Wall. This promenade will provide a tremendous amount of recreational space to residents looking to take advantage of the oceanfront open area and impressive ocean views.

Throughout this entire process, the designers of The Great Wall of Lagos remain on site every day to monitor the progress of the building of the sea wall to ensure the quality of construction is up to design level. Nothing is left to chance.

As the Wall expanded further and further, Victoria Island began seeing the positive effects of the works that were happening 2 kilometers offshore. The ocean surges which were once hitting Victoria Island were now hitting The Great Wall of Lagos.

The physical tests of The Great Wall of Lagos can be seen in this video below:

Testing the Great Wall

Before the first of the giant concrete armoured blocks for the Great Wall of Lagos was lowered into position, its ability to withstand the worst of the Atlantic tidal surges was put to the test. Urban engineers at DHI, the world-renowned Danish hydraulic research centre, carried out extensive scale model trials. Data analysis by computer models showed that the Great Wall would keep Lagos safe from the worst tidal surges that can be expected.

Facts and Figures on the Great Wall of Lagos

When it's complete, the Great Wall of Lagos will be over 8.5 kilometres long. It is made from tens of thousands of concrete blocks (accropodes) weighing 5 tons each which interlock loosely to form an effective barrier that dispels the force of the waves and provides the primary armoured sea defence. Beneath the accropodes are various layers of rock that function as the secondary armour and core.

Here are quick facts about The Great Wall of Lagos

- The wall’s length is 8.5 Km.
- It is built out of 100,000 concrete blocks.
- The wall rises 6 m above sea level.
- An accurate scale model of the wall was built in Copenhagen at the Danish Hydraulic.
- Tests were conducted to test the sea wall’s strength against the worst storm in 1,000 years.
- Factors for global warming and sea level rising were applied to these tests.
- All tests were successful!

These are some of the images of the Great Wall of Lagos as seen from the site...

Car Talk / Dutch Firm Releases 'First Solar Car That Travels 450 Miles On Single Charge' by AutoReportNG: 9:03am On Jul 08, 2019
Lightyear is one of the pioneers in clean mobility, this time, it releases the prototype of Lightyear One, the world’s first long-range solar car. After two years of dreaming, thinking, designing, and developing, finally, Lightyear has achieved its mission of making clean mobility available for everyone. Presented to a selected audience of investors, partners, press, and customers in the TheaterHangaar in Katwijk, the Netherlands, Lightyear One Solar Car wants to represent a new era of sustainable driving.

Started from scratch, Lightyear followed the laws of physics to purposely design a car that has the ability to get the most out of every ray of sunshine. The development team focused relentlessly to optimize efficiency as well as safety. The main goal of this project is to fill in where electric cars fall short because research has shown that range and the lack of charging options are becoming the top concerns to most people when considering electric cars.

Lightyear One offers an exceptional range of 725km using a relatively small battery. Furthermore, it can charge directly from the sun because its energy consumption is much lower. In this way, all charging options out there become easier since you get a lot more range for the same amount of energy charged. You can charge up to 400km per night just from ordinary 230V sockets. The prototype of this car is constructed from high-tech materials yet have the lowest weight possible without sacrificing passenger safety. Lightyear One is propelled by four independently driven wheels, no energy is lost in transit from the engine to the wheel. The solar cells are built onto the roof and hood, about five square meters, in safety glass so strong that even a fully grown adult can walk on them without causing dents. Lightyear One Long-Range Solar Car can also be charged at a fast charging station or a regular outlet.

At this moment, Lightyear One is still at the prototype stage with staggering specifications, but the company promises the next models would have a significantly lower purchase price. Lightyear wants to combine the low operating costs of the vehicle while providing premium mobility for low rice per kilometer. The company will start the production of Lightyear One in 2021.

With the releasing of Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, and Model Y, there’s no doubt those letters add up. But Martin Hajek, a Netherlands based industrial designer, believes that there’s a letter missing in this electric alPhabet. Here’s Tesla Model P Smartphone Concept, a design proposal for Tesla to complement its futuristic electric cars.

Elon Musk created a market for electric cars, tunnels under LA, launching rockets into space, and even selling flamethrowers. Martin Hajek thinks it would not be long until this genius decides to enter the smartphone market. Martin believes when that happens, Elon Musk would never design boring and same looking phone. Therefore, here’s an attempt to design a Tesla-inspired smartphone that would carry Tesla design DNA.

@AutoreportNG don’t you think the residence of this island might experience flooding or any form of disaster in the nearest future cause Lagos State is the land of Aquatic splendour and water can’t be tamed for so long

Well said and I think that's why the handlers of this project are doing all they could to make sure they curtail this, for example they are working on the Marina axis of this place to channel water to the lagoon without the overflow reverting back also, I heard they are building a massive Great Wall of Lagos... This is the rocks and massive stones used to guard against the water from the sea... Next week, we will speak more on that if we have more time.

This is the Lagos Atlantic City, a proposed city by the Lagos State Government. Imagine a city where everything works which includes the drainage, power and a serene environment, then this city might likely be a place to be but with a warning, make sure your pocket is well loaded.

According to an earlier post by AutoReportNG, as at 2010, lands are reportedly to cost within $825 to $1660 per square meter. A rep of the company sent this when someone made an inquiry into their lands 9 years ago and she said...

Eko Atlantic City is being built on a planned 10-square-kilometer (3.8-square-mile) stretch of land that’s being reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, Ronald Chagoury, chairman of South Energyx Nigeria Ltd., said in a May 23 interview in the commercial hub. When the final project is complete, as many as 250,000 people are expected to live in the development, where a three-bedroom apartment could cost almost $1 million, according to online property listings.

"Plots are currently available for sale. Plot sizes start at 2000 square meters and up, and have a starting price of $825 (#302,000) and go up to $1660 (#606,000) per square meter (please note we do accept the equivalent in Naira). Prices are determined by where your land is in location to water.

The first building in this city is Eko Pearl Towers, the first residential development in Eko Atlantic City, is a set of high-rise buildings, privately owned and developed by the leading Eko Pearl Construction Company. The development which is situated about 500 meters away from the financial center of Lagos on Eko Atlantic City, consists of five high rise residential towers, each topped with deluxe penthouse types, two & three bedroom apartments exuding a luxurious home experience with a view of the Lagos coastline.

The Great Wall of Lagos has reached a total length of 6.5km of the planned 8.5km it will eventually achieve.

Eko Atlantic City as a whole has also progressed tremendously. To date over 6,500,000 square metres of land have been reclaimed.

Recently, a group of people went on tour to this place and they got some exciting visuals of this emerging city from the ocean.

Politics / Nigeria Diplomatic Passport: Why Politicians Don't Release Theirs After Office by AutoReportNG: 1:54pm On Jul 05, 2019
Last month, the Nigerian Immigration boos accused some former senators and governors of still retaining their diplomatic passports after their tenure has expired in office. Under the Nigerian immigration law, governors and some senators that hold some key positions are subject to have diplomatic passports.

Many have wondered about what is special about this red Nigerian diplomatic passport and what makes it different from the normal 32 pages that we have in Nigeria. Going through the privileges and perks that come along with this passport, we see why these senators and governors will not want to surrender their passport anytime soon.

According to the Nigerian Immigration, only the former presidents and vice presidents have the opportunity to hold on to their diplomatic passports for life. Others are meant to submit their passports once their tenure expires.

One of the ways to identify a Nigerian Diplomatic Passport is that it's red in color unlike the usual green passport that everyone has, it also has a 10-year expiry date attached to it.

What makes A Diplomatic Passport Special?

Diplomatic passports are simply passports used by diplomats to identify them as assigned the duty to manage negotiations and other official affairs on behalf of a country or state. This is what is referred to as conducting diplomacy. So is this the only purpose of a diplomatic passport? Does it have any privileges toa diplomat? Is it worth having it? we will be answering you all your questions bit by bit below.

Remember, an honorary consul is not a holder of a diplomatic passport and hence he does not enjoy the following privileges.

Advantages And Privilleges Of Having A Diplomatic Passport

The most important advantage of diplomatic passports is that it is proof that the holder enjoys diplomatic immunity and identifies an honorary consul to the authorities of the host country. However, there are other numerous advantages and privileges of having a diplomatic passport. These privileges vary from one state to the other and with the main objective behind the diplomatic appointments.

Some of the common advantages and privileges’ of having a diplomatic passport include;

· Red carpet treatment by international governments

· When travelling, a diplomat may use the diplomatic channels of airports and will not be subject to time delaying and annoying customer checks

· Diplomatic immunity- under international law, the office and the residence of diplomats are extended sovereign status, as such they are off limits to all governments and their agents — even in their native countries.

· Diplomatic passport not only raises the business success of the diplomat but also boosts the or her social status and prestige.

· A diplomat acquires free diplomatic vehicle license plates (CC or CD)

· A diplomat enjoys a no travel or airport departure tax. Once a diplomat acquires a passport he or she is freed of any tax that may result from traveling either on land or on air. An honorary consul or a diplomat can, therefore, travel from one state not only quickly but also cheaply as no tax is imposed on him.

· A diplomatic passport holder enjoys confident movement and activity internationally. Once one acquires a passport, travelling becomes easier. The so many questions and requirements at the airport are greatly reduced. This enabled a diplomat to get to his area of destination on time. Similarly, any activity that a diplomatic passport holder may get involved in, either in his native country or in the host country is made easier.

· A diplomatic passport holder is freed of tax liability on income from outside the host country. Doesn’t that sound great? Yeah, it does. A diplomat who has not only confirmed his acceptance of the diplomatic appointment but has also acquired a diplomatic passport pay no tax on income that comes from other countries or states apart from the host country.

CONCLUSION

See, there are a million and one advantages and privileges of having a diplomatic passport. It is not of no great importance as many people are programmed to think. It is actually something that you do not have to think much about whether you need to apply for or not. It is instead something that everyone should strive to acquire before the end of times.

Remember, diplomats who have confirmed the acceptance of the diplomatic appointments and are ready to serve their native state are the only holders of a diplomatic passport.

It's no news that creativity abounds in Nigeria. First, it was with a Nigerian artist that draws the American comic art, Kelvin Hart, this time, we may be seeing a Nigerian being elevated to a new level.

A Nigerian photographer named Kasope did a photo-op shot for Mercedes Benz and he decided to try his luck by uploading it on his twitter page thereby calling for a retweet so that Mercedes Benz can see his work. According to him, I did a campaign shoot for Mercedes Benz in Nigeria. Enjoy this thread of images. Please retweet in hopes that they see it. The retweets finally got the attention of the brand's notice and they replied with Wow, you really have a talent. Thanks for capturing these beautiful pictures of our stars, we love them!

Being a smart Naija guy that never dulls when opportunity beckons suggested to MB to offer him a contract for more of these photoshop, Mercedes Benz, of course, replied by sending him a DM... We want to assume things go on as we wish.

These are some of his photo shoot that got the attention of the world's biggest brand in the automobile.

Education / Protesting LASPOTECH Students Ground Ikorodu BRT Terminus by AutoReportNG: 3:52pm On Jul 04, 2019
All seems not to be well with users of the popular BRT Buses in Ikorodu. According to reports reaching us, activities were grounded at Ikorodu Garage Roundabout owing to the demonstration of LASPOTECH students due to management fracas and lockdown of their institution.

It was reported that they needed some BRT buses to convey them to State House, Alausa for their protest but Primero is not ready to grant them the usage of their buses this act angered the students who grounded activities at the Ikorodu BRT Bus Terminal.

Passengers who are heading to work are deprived of buses and hooked at the terminal the early hours of this morning.

It was gathered from one of the students that after a while, the head of transport at Ikorodu terminal came to address the students and released 4 BRT Buses instantly which conveyed the students to Alausa... These are some of the pictures we have from the protest that ensued this morning.

Travel / Nigeria Pet Passport: These Are Things You Need To Know And How The Law Works by AutoReportNG: 1:36pm On Jul 04, 2019
Pets are seen as man's best friend, an example is seen in dogs. Dogs are lovely creature that doesn't work but give joy and happiness to their owners. Many a time we love to travel with them but we are not sure of their travel documents and what the law says about pets passport.

Many people do not know that pets do have their international passports. These passports range from countries to countries and interestingly, Nigeria is not left out in the regard. According to PetTravel.com, The term “pet passport” was originally popularized in the European Union (EU) where dog, cat or ferret owners could get a blue pet passport from their veterinarian and travel freely through the EU member countries. This is still true today for people living in the EU. It will last for the lifetime of the pet as long as the rabies vaccination is kept up to date.

However, for pet owners residing in countries outside of the EU, a “pet passport” is simply a term we use to represent all of the pertinent documentation needed to take your pet to other countries. Customs officials will need to see these documents in order to clear your pet, and the inconvenience caused by losing them can be significant.

Your veterinarian can help you create a pet passport for your pet to enter almost any country in the world. For example, if you are from the United States and are visiting most European Union countries, then the pet passport will consist of the following:

- The Annex IV and APHIS 7001 forms for the country you will be visiting (they are all different) completed by your veterinarian and endorsed by the State USDA veterinarian.
- Your pet’s inoculation record which must be attached to the certified Annex IV form. (Sometimes the inoculation record is referred to as the Rabies Certificate.)

If you are visiting one of the United Kingdom countries (England, Ireland or Scotland) or Finland or Malta, your pet will need proof of a tapeworm test to complete your pet passport.

For those bringing in their pets from outside Nigeria into Nigeria, these are some of the things you will need in order for your pet to be allowed entry into Nigeria.

Nigeria Pet Passport & Import Regulations

Fact:
Nigeria does not quarantine cats and dogs that meet the following requirements. All requirements also apply to service and emotional support animals.

1. Pet Microchip

To enter Nigeria, your pet must first be microchipped with an ISO 11784/11785 pet microchip that has 15 digits and is non-encrypted. If your pet's microchip is not ISO 11784/11785 compliant, you can bring your own microchip scanner.

2. Vaccinations

Your pet must be vaccinated for rabies between 30 days and 12 months prior to entering the country.

3. Rabies Titer Test

Pets entering Nigeria should have a rabies titer test no sooner than 30 days after their primary vaccination.

4. Health Certificate

Within 48 hours of entry, USDA (or CFIA) accredited veterinarian must then complete the bi-lingual Veterinary Certificate for Nigeria for endorsement by the USDA or CFIA if traveling from the United States or Canada. If you are traveling from another country, the Governmental Authority should endorse the forms.

5. Import Permit

An approved import permit is required when entering Nigeria with a personal pet.

6. Ticks and Tapeworm Treatment

A tick and tapeworm treatment is not required prior to entering Nigeria but is recommended due to the availability of these products in the country.

7. Entering Nigeria by Air

Pets must enter Nigeria via Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos or the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja as checked baggage or air cargo. Whenever you travel to a foreign country like Nigeria, it is always advisable to carry some form of identification indicating ownership of your pet.

All domestic dogs and cats must be free of evidence of disease communicable to humans when examined at the entry airport. If your dog or cat is not in apparent good health, further examination by a licensed veterinarian may be required at your expense.

8. Banned Breeds

Nigeria does not publish a list of dangerous dog breeds.

9. Other Animals

Birds, invertebrates, tropical fish, reptiles, amphibia, mammals such as rodents and rabbits are not subject to requirements of rabies vaccination, but may have to meet other requirements and should have a health certificate to enter Nigeria. Pet owners are strongly advised to seek further information from the relevant authority of their country and/or that of the country of destination.

10. CITES

If your pet is not a dog, cat or ferret, and especially if it is a turtle or parrot, you should verify that it is not protected under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). You will need to apply for additional permits if this is the case. Over 180 countries participate and enforce CITES regulations. .

Travel / First Time Driving In Lagos? These 25 Lagos Driving Rules Will Help You by AutoReportNG: 11:54am On Jul 04, 2019
Lagos, the center of aquatic splendor is full of its bubbles, opportunities, and vibes, it's a city its residents refer to as a city that never sleeps. Lagos, being a developing megacity has its ups and downs and one of its down moment is the traffic. A popular comedian says Lagosians sleep and lives in traffic, we only visit our homes to change clothes.

For someone who is new in Lagos and new in Nigeria, may find driving in Lagos to be very weird especially seeing tankers, trailers, okadas and danfos on Lagos roads. In Lagos, we idolize these folks, without them, we all will be trekking in fact within 2 weeks, the children of Israelites will look fresher than us.

A Yankee based Nigerian was in Lagos some years back and this time, he decided to drive himself across the city of Lagos but he was amazed that all the driving skills that he learned abroad are not applicable to Lagos. According to him, he said " I consider myself a decent and polite driver; however, when I got behind the wheels in Lagos, I felt my driving style completely mutate into something I couldn’t recognize… but I knew I needed it to survive. Here are some tips I picked up as a driver and passenger."

* The lines demarcating the lanes are recommendations; at best suggestions. Actually, they are opinions. It’s acceptable to ignore them. Just ignore them. If you see an opening, go for it, that’s your lane. In Lagos, you can create your own lane.

* The roads are so bad in many areas that the sight of good roads could make you want to accelerate. Go ahead and accelerate. Enjoy it while it last.

* Traffic lights are also suggestions. Red means go. Green means go. Yellow means go. Basically, just go. It’s always a pleasant surprise when a driver adheres to the traffic light.

* Try not to make awkwardly long eye contact with any of the street vendors unless your intention is to purchase something. By the way, you can buy just about anything from those vendors…even a new car!

* Signaling with your hand is more effective than using your signal light.

* The majority of traffic jams are caused by drivers slowing down to avoid multiple potholes on busy roads. #fixthebadroads

* Everyone is always in a hurry and impatient because their time is apparently more important than yours. Deal with it.

* When you cut someone off just stare them down as you do it. They will respect your audacity. And it will also make you feel like the “OGA ON TOP” of the road.

* It’s safe to assume other drivers do not have insurance. In the words of one of the taxi drivers that gave me a lift: “Wetin be insurance?”

* Be advised that the yellow taxi buses can stop anytime and anywhere so don’t follow too closely unless you have brand new brake pads and comprehensive auto insurance.

* Expect pedestrians to cross the busy highways and freeways. Watch out for them.

* It doesn’t matter where you are going just know that there will be traffic.

* If you’re involved in a fender bender with a yellow bus taxi driver he would more than likely beg you to forgive him by lying flat on the ground. Forgive him and move on, it’s not worth the argument back and forth.

* Keep one hand on the steering wheel and the other hand next to the horn.

* Honking your horn is part of the driving culture in Lagos. It’s just a convenient way to let other drivers know that you do not trust their decision-making skills.

* The only person to trust on the road is you. Remind other drivers and pedestrians you don’t trust them by honking your horn loud and proud.

* Expect to get into screaming battles with pedestrians trying to cross the busy roads. Be careful because they may put juju on you.

* If you have any paraphernalia related to the Nigerian Police, Army, Air Force, or Military, then make sure it is displayed visibly for others to see. It will help you bypass those random police checkpoints.

* There is nothing random about a random check by the police. The police officers are skilled at sizing you up as you pull up. If you do get pulled over, make sure you have some loose cash (you know why) or a lot of time to spend arguing back and forth with them about random things like showing your permit for tinted windows.

* Non-injury accidents are taken care of at the scene of the accident. In essence, there is no veering off the road. Both drivers would more than likely step out of their vehicles and engage in a screaming match in the middle of traffic.

* Okada drivers always feel they have the right of way even when it’s obvious they don’t.

* Always lock your doors and wind up your windows as you drive, especially when stuck in stop-and-go traffic at night.

* One-ways are more like two or three ways. If the road can fit three cars why restrict it to just one car when three cars can go multiple directions? The unapologetic perpetrators are the Okada and Keke drivers.

* Okadas are like water. They find voids in traffic, unassigned lanes, sidewalks, and just flow through. Watch out for them.

* Many drivers liter. Watch out for trash flying out of vehicles in front of you.

Lastly, avoid anything called trailers, tankers with every bit of skill in you! These guys are called the king of the road, they can bash your car, SUV and heaven won't fall. Want to have a smooth ride? The fear of tankers and trailers is definitely the beginning of wisdom.

Politics / Lagos State Government Resumes Construction Of The Ten-Lane Lagos-Badagry Road by AutoReportNG: 12:54am On Jul 04, 2019
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday resumed the construction of the ten-lane Lagos-Badagry Expressway ten years after its commencement.

Performing the flag-off, the Deputy Governor of the state, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, stated that the return to the road not only marks the fulfillment of a promise made during a recent visit on June 2, 2019, to the people of the State by the Sanwo-Olu Administration but is also designed to bring relief to commuters who experience hardship daily on the road.

Speaking at the site office of the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), contractors to the project, the Deputy Governor noted that the Sanwo-Olu administration would honour all the promises made to Lagosians.

He further stated that the project covers specifically the Agboju to Trade Fair segment as well as the rehabilitation of the Eric Moore – Mile 2 stretch.

Hamzat said, “We must obey the law, citizens co-operation is critical to what successes we will be able to record during this tenure. We must also monitor the project and report progress and observations to us.”

Hamzat further commended the co-operation of the Federal Government as both the State and Federal Agencies will be present along the road up to the Seme border.

He explained that Lagos State is handling Eric Moore to Agboju while FERMA will do four-lane maintenance to Agbara while the Federal Government has awarded Agbara to Seme as a six-lane Highway.

He said the State Government will deploy Taskforce to clean up the area and ensure a free flow of traffic.

It should be recalled that the notion to expand the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, a major gateway connecting Nigeria and other neighbouring West African countries was conceptualized in 2009 by the Babatunde Raji Fashola administration to ease traffic in the region and upgrade the infrastructure from four (4) lane into ten (10) lane dual carriage.
