Ability to afford cars, houses, and etc. could make people venture into corrupt means. If I see my neighbor buying cars, I might be tempted to also go and steal or siphon public money because I want to afford it.

So if I can also get a car like my neighbor with ability to pay back in installments, I won’t have that much reason to steal or be desperate to siphon money to get the same thing.

That’s what Tinubu is trying to say.

Are you saying people who own houses and cars don't have corruption tendencies? The accountant general that stole N80b doesn't he have houses and cars? Or what type of car and house does he want to acquire with such large sum.

Sani Abacha who siphoned billions of dollars abroad, was the money to buy cars and houses? How many cars or houses will a person acquire before he gets satisfied?

People don't have jobs and can't eat three square meals you are talking about cars and houses.

Tinubu governance style doesn't believe the govt should do anything for the people. He believes the people should pay taxes on everything and at the same the people should pay for anything the govt provides.

This is like saying the people exist for the govt and not that the govt exist for the people

Mortgage is not a new idea it has been there all the while. How does the market woman who sells tomatoes at mile 12 market in Lagos access and affords mortgage when the state govt keeps sending touts to harras them to pay one levy after another. How will the transporters afford it when half of their income is collected by agberos at every bus stop.

Lagos state has never had a robust and comprehensive housing scheme like what Lateef Jakande did. Lagos state is now like a commercial entity that only pursue projects that yields the highest revenue into the pockets of government officials and their cronies. They careless about the average citizen and the poor. Is Eko Atlantic being built for Lagos civil servants to acquire or for market women in Oshodi market?

Markets are being renovated and priced too high beyond the reach of market people. Governance as far as Lagos is concerned is all generating revenue and less about helping the people and making life better for them.

People are not corrupt because they want to buy a car or house, they are corrupt because our system allows for corruption. Human greed is not limited to cars and houses. Tinubu has been milking Lagos state since 1999 yet he is not satisfied even though he has cars, houses and private Jets.

Credit system works better in a highly industrialized system with high productive capacity. Imagine everyone buying Innoson cars on credit how will he run the business and pay staff salary.

Besides, credit is not just given anyhow, you have to be credit worthy to access credit.

Lagos state has recently been reported as the second worst cities to live in the world. This report questions the profile of Lagos as the city with the biggest economy, with a budget bigger than some African countries.

How do we explain a state with high towering Internally generated revenue (IGR) and is at the same time the worst city to live in the world?

In my opinion as someone who grew up and live in Lagos state, successive governments in the state since the return of democracy in 1999 has gradually abandoned true governance and the delivery of the dividends of governance to pursuing only commercial viable projects to puts constant cashflow in the hands of some government officials and their cronnies. A good example in this regard is the Eko Atlantic city. Who does the state government have in mind with the development of such white elephant projects? Certainly not civil servants with 30k minimum wage salary.

So residents in Lagos pay so many levies and taxes without much benefits from the government. With the high monthly IGR of the state, many roads remain unmotorable thereby causing traffic and road accidents. Transporters pay endless levies at bus stops and motor parks without any benefits from govt for these levies.

Is Lagos an over rated city?

This is the handiwork of Tinubu's campaign to incite the north to revolt against the Peter Obi movement in the northern region.

Tinubu has never won any election based on ideology or known ethical standard but thuggery, bribery, vote buying, voter suppression and intimidation etc.

I expect Labour party to issue a disclaimer immediately. Tinubu must to be allowed to be president of this great nation.

If Tinubu becomes president of Nigeria, this is how he will pocket every govt agencies and institutions and maneuver the system to do his bidding whether legal or not.

This kind of game is what has given Tinubu undue advantage in Lagos. He is not great politician as many want us to believe. He is at best a great crook.

The god of iron and thunder can't fight on the behalf of the God of Elijah. God can win a battle with silence.

I laughed when the northern governors came up with a push for power to shift to d south. They were only playing the script that has long been written. Why is it that many of them were silent on power moving to the south until the 11th hour.

Everyone expected the entire south to team up together and throw their weight behind southeast candidacy. But Tinubu kept singing "Its my turn" chorus.

Oga, pls can you shut up. Southwest is d real traitors and betrayals. They want fairness and equity that only favours them.

If APC eventually chose Lawan as the consensus candidate, then Buhari should be seen as the greatest traitor of all times. Imagine someone stood by you when all hopes was lost, ensured you won APC ticket in 2015 against heavyweight like Atiku and Kwankwaso and almost completing your second term, when it was time for you to reciprocate, you felt because you're the president, someone is no longer good for you. When you wanted this power by all means, this person was good for you that time. Anyway, it's a lesson for all to borrow not only in politics but in our daily interaction with people. Never put ur trust or rely totally on anyone, they can disappoint you to suit their selfish interest.

Yoruba's kept deceiving themselves claiming that Ahmed Lawan is Tinubu's boy and will definitely work for Jagaban. The same Lawan raised the motion that transferred NEC powers to NWC.

The same way Osubanjo, Kayode Fayemi, Ibikunle Amosun are plotting against Tinubu. You missed his point of argument which is the SW and SS joining forces to support SE for the presidency on the basis of fairness and equity. Else, the north can do another 8 years.

South east is no more interested in the presidency, they just want to spoil southwest chances by supporting any northern candidate.

If Lawan is given the APC ticket, Uzor Kali will definitely be his running mate.

At the end it will be a northern president and VP from the south east.

Yoruba are the single reason the north seem to be overshadowing the entire south. If the south can speak with one voice the north can't be taking us for a ride. But Yoruba half intelligence and selfishness is the cause of all this rubbish.
