As a full Igbo man who travels the North, south west and eastern part of Nigeria I will say the NBA statistics is very deceiving but not totally false.
1. Yes alot of rural areas in the east are developed with modern buildings, but there are no commercial areas like you'd find in Lagos.
2. The Igbos need to use this statistics as a motivator to developing more commercial areas and industrial zone like is available in the south west.
3. The south western parts of Nigeria, states like osun, ondo and ekiti have one thing going for them, they all have industrial zones that bring in big businesses.
4. Poor infrastructure, little or inconsequential trade, but strong commerce compared to the east.
5. Development of the south west is rapid because all tribes contribute though this is mostly just Lagos and Ogun state.
6. Again the data used by the NBS is questionable and doesn't show the reality on ground.
7. If we as Igbos must develop commercially, we need to bring more businesses home, not only to our states but to the south south too, as development with these states must go hand in hand.
