iLegendd, come and cuntinue the story |
Osinamoney:True, it seems he doesn't want to evolve tactically |
1.0 He's tactically outdated: Almost all new elite coaches now employ the high press, high defence line, passing from the back and other new tactics but Mourinho is still stuck with his customary hoofing hopeful balls into the opponents half, no interest in keeping possession and controlling the game. Mourinho hasn't evolved tactically, he is still stuck in the past. In fact his tactics has gone extinct, you wouldn't be wrong to say his tactics is a dinosaur 2.0 His ego doesn't matter any longer: Mourinho at the peak of his managerial career was the gaffer with the biggest ego. He didn't wait to be sacked before leaving a struggling team because he had so much believe in himself and trust in his coaching system. He knew he can't stay a day without work, clubs were always queuing yo have him pen his signature on the dotted, he was the "poster man" of coaching. He resigned in October of 2007 during his first missionary journey at Chelsea after his team drew against Rosenberg at Stamford bridge. Mourinho now loses to championship sides at home then reminds the media the financial implication of sacking him. He can't just leave without getting his payoff, if he resigns, he may get little or nothing as payoff. In fact, he now waits to be sacked 3.0 He's too interested in defending: Since his arrival, Mourinho has signed a defender in each of his three seasons. Signing defenders itself isn't bad but doing so at the expense of other positions in more need of quality is disastrous. Manchester united doesn't have a natural right sided attacker and an adequate backup for Lukaku but Mourinho was more interested in splashing £60m on a 29 year old defender. Mourinho wouldn't mind signing "men of the night watch" to protect his defence if more than 10 outfield players was allowed in football. Mourinho hasn't realized you can't set up a team to defend for 90 mins, they'll buckle under pressure. 4.0 Second season league success : Irrespective of how difficult a league was, Mourinho was always certain of a league title in the second season. He won the league with Real Madrid in breathtaking fashion (most goals scored, most points) against the best Barcelona side in history. He is now in his third season at Manchester united and there's nothing to suggest he'll ever win it there. 5.0 He blames everyone else except himself after defeats: You won't see Pochetino or Sarri single out a player for criticism after a drubbing, Mourinho was adept at defending his players even when they fluffed their lines. He knew exactly how to protect his players from media tongue lashing after a thumping. Now Mourinho's is excellent at openly chastising his players, picking fights and slating them on the media. A far cry from what he initially stood for. |
I have been nurturing an intention of attending one of the biggest churches in the country. I have been a passerby severally in the last couple of days, it was just a matter of how soon before I debut in the church. Today, I finally strolled into the House that stands high on the Rock. After the usual security check peculiar to most new generation churches, I was given a pass into the edifice. I thought I would take some steps after the security point straight to the church gallery, but I was wrong. Instead I saw what looked like different childrens' amusement parks on both sides of the lobby. A little walk further, I was at the exit. My adventure was set to last shorter than a two-minute man, how sad! I walked back again to the entrance hoping to find possible "directional" signs to the church gallery but saw none. I went around looking for who to ask but almost everyone I saw were in pairs. By now, a science student would have taken oscillations of my to and fro motion and in no time the conscious security men may become suspicious of my wandering and even confront me thinking I'm sent by Shekau of the sambisa republic to plant explosives. Fortunately, I met a guy half way into my next fro motion, he was resting on the hand rail of the stairs looking very relaxed, you'll wouldn't doubt if he told you he was only of the first set of members of the church. He stood like he knew the church move than any other person. I briskly walked to him and the following conservation ensued, "me: boss, good morning, where's the way to the auditorium? Guy: "This is your first time here I guess", starts a run down of the programmes that hold in church every week, ask where I live and tells me the unit I should join. I cut in "Oga, na visit I visit, I just wan come see how the place be, I've been hearing about this church. The guy instead of pointing to the direction to the gallery volunteered to walk me in the auditorium and give me a seat. He opened the door and I saw a sea of human heads, I wanted to suggest we use the back door so I could avoid the many prying eyes. Care freely, the guy walked through the multitude while I followed, I couldn't feel my feet walking through the whole church, seemed i was tip toeing on water but unlike Peter I didn't sink. I was given a seat in the midst of ladies. Just in front was a cute girl, I had barely sat when i planned how i will start a chat with After service with the "I almost tapped you in church thinking it was my "mum" narrative then tell he about the unexplainable semblance, it that doesn't pique her interest. I'll throw her an Ikpa Udo's punch " ntà ntà ame ashine tutu, ashine amana ashine" since that will sound like Tuface's Ibibio line of Amaka. That would definitely interest her and we'll talk it from there. I started observing some PDA moves from the lady with the guy right beside her, my curiosity took me to her third left finger; she is a married girl!. Why are young ladies rushing to marry when I never blow yet? Who will I now marry when all of them fine girls are married? I asked myself. I may not have 30 billion I'm my akant but I have 15 naijabet tickets with a potential winning of #1.5 mila, I consoled myself. To my left was another lady (The Chisom Mgbonu of tennis) discussing Serena's loss to Noami yesterday. She had so much grip of tennis that the husband maybe bf was just nodding to every of her analysis. I wanted to share some views on her loss but her spouse may suspect me of using football to get at his better half. Dear future wife, please it wont be "the promise" and "double kara" everytime, watch Tennis, moto GP and football too. By now, the AC in auditorium has got me gooseBUMPS that couldn't even HALT the SPEED of cold. i was sandwiched between two fatter people but this couldn't still cushion the effect of the cold. I shivered like I had Class A fever. The service was about starting, how will I endure this cold for three hours? I pitied Nigerians who live and work in cold countries abroad and instantly became a Pan-African. Everybody rose for the opening prayers, I turned around to look at the congregation, if I can convince everyone here to vote me in 2019 Guber election in 2019, OBong Nsima and Deacon will be a walkover. Dr. Adetokunbo Obinna Dollar gave the message, I have forgotten the topic but I won't forget that he's a funny Preacher. |

There's a deafening campaign from some quarters for a youth to occupy the hihest office in the country. Already, Some youths have taken up the challenge. Whether they are out to change the bad governance status quo or join the "our yam eaters" bandwagon is left to be seen. As expected the base of their supporters are predominantly youths. Ask the advocates for the young Nigerian president what has informed their choice, they'll tell you the "elders" have stayed too long and should be duly given the boot, some will chip in with 'cleaning the rot in the system" narrative which has almost grounded the country but honestly does one need to be a youth before he can clean the rot in the system? Definitely not. To them (the advocates of a young President) youth equates good governance. They probably haven't remembered that Yahya Bello the debtor-in-chief of Kogi state is a youth who was touted to chance the face of governance in the state. To say he has failed abysmally is a fair remark. Already we've seen cases of "yam eating" amongst the youths, exactly the same reasons for wanting the elders out. Can I remind them that SUG Presidents saw Unionism as a the perfect time to setting up their lives; marrying wives, buying cars, renting choice apartments and even establishing businesses. I know of a departmental President that emptied his departmental account on completing his tenure. In fact, I can't think of any SUG President who didn't have financial misapropration case leveled against him. This isn't an isolated case, it happens in almost every public tertiary institution in the country. It leaves a sour taste in my mouth when I realise these people have started "stealing yams" in "micro" politics, what happens when they occupy public offices, they could probably steal the yam barn. If the youths want to oust the elders so they can now drive the van of yam stealing, they should bury the young President ambition. We need a President that will change the face of governance; allow institutions to be independent, provide basic infrastructures, end tyranny, nepotism, disobedience to the rule of law etc. Nigeria needs a competent leader not a youth. |

1.0 No desire to control games: You would expect a team in the class of Manchester united to dictate the pace and control the tempo of the game but they hardly do..Average sides so many times take the game to them thereby forcing them to make mistakes; exactly what they ( Man utd) should be doing. You can't do much playing on the back foot Slow build up: Manchester united take too many unnecessary passes going forward. Jones passes to Bailly, Bailly passes to Young, Young sends it back to De gea. When they're through with the cycle of unnecessary passes, their opponents would have taken their defensive shape, thereby making them almost in permeable. How do you breakdown an opponent with many slow, non intricate passes? They play too deep: If should come as a surprise that the heat map of our wingers is closer to their half instead of their opponents. How will you hurt your opponents from almost 50 yards. Manchester united wingers occupy positions that are too far from the goal. You can barely hurt your opponent(s) from such distance De gea: I know De gea does no wrong in the eyes of an average football fan but this isn't exactly truth. His frequent hopeless punts makes the team chase the ball far too often. Manchester united will control the game better if their goalie plays from the back. His distribution isn't particularly pleasing, he almost always either kicks the ball straight to his opponent(s) or gives his teammate a poor pass that he'll be crowded by opposing team and the ball subsequently won. In contrast, Ederson's distribution is top notch, he assisted Aguero in the Carling cup final against Arsenal and did same today. Imagine De gea doing same Inconsistent Lineup: Very few teams have had a more frequently changed lineup than Manchester united, there's so much chopping and changing, this makes understanding amongst players difficult. Against Leicester city, Man utd lined up with Rashford, Mata and Alexis. Today, it was Lukaku, Martial and Mata. Against Tottenham it's certain Mourinho will start a very different front three |

The 2018/2019 season is barely three weeks away. Transfers are going almost smoothly, players are moving from new to old clubs in search of; new challenges and bigger wages. The ones surplus to requirement aren't left out. The preseason has kicked off in full swing already, new players and academy players have been given the platform to shine; some academy players already have given their coaches headaches; "should I send him on loan, will he be the revelation of the new season?". Unfortunately the bulk of players who participated in the world cup knockout rounds are still yet to join their respective clubs because of the exertions of the world cup. This has made it very difficult for the coaches to build an understanding between the old lads and the new signings on the field of play. Most of the players who participated in the semis are almost certain to miss the first and even the second week of matches. Mourinho, since inception as a football manager has always been a go-getter who is always upbeat about his team's chances of having a trophy haul. That is a far cry from the in coming season's. The Man utd's gaffer mood is totally dampened, doesn't exude confidence and lacking believe. He is either complaining of fatigue, unavailability of his "world cup" players, injuries or insufficient signings. His mood is a source of concern for fans, and football lovers alike. Has the "whining one" sensed failure from far away U.S? Why does he keep sounding like he has conceded defeat in the pursuit of the EPL title before a kick of the ball? Manchester city and Tottenham "9" (talk sport) both had the most players in the semis. Manchester united "8" (talk sport) came a close second. But I've not heard Pep and Poch complain so much about fatigue. Mourinho has even had the luxury of making Pogba the most expensive signing in the EPL and Sanchez the highest paid player in the league. Yet he says he hasn't been backed in the market. Even if other managers are whining, José shouldn't join the queue |
