Praise18:For the TEF/TCF exams, you actually must know French. 6 months is rather short except you enrol in an intensive French class. You would have to attend classes everyday and do a lot of work on your own too. It all boils down to having the time and the right motivation. I started April this year. I attend classes daily (Monday-Friday) including a private conversational class on Saturdays. Sometimes, i feel i'm making progress, other times, i feel i havent done much. Now i love the language even beyond passing TEF. Back to your question- Do you have the time? Are you well-motivated? 4 Likes |
Health / Re: Lady Accuses Hospitals Of Turning C-section To A Profit Making Venture by ayandee: 2:35pm On Aug 10, 2019 |
Kendumazy:beyond an adéquate cervix, there are other issues that may necessitate c-section even in a pregnancy that appears normal from the outset. Childbirth is a serious issue. It's better to have a woman and her child live. If your doctor says CS and explains why, please cooperate with him. When I had my second child, a woman was brought in from a traditional birth centre. She was in coma and had laboured for a long time. The doctors had to do an emergency surgery. The baby lived but the mother died. Her bed was next to mine. Throughout that night all of us (new moms) in that ward couldnt sleep. We didnt know her but we all grieved. Also, a difficult labour can give rise to complications which can cause brain damage for the child. This happened to a friend's child. Now, she's spending a lot of time and money on therapy. Yes, everyone wants vaginal birth but if doctor advises C-SECTION, please dont run. 2 Likes |

It's possible she took a bank loan with very high interest rate and all the deposits for the exam were taken by the bank. I find it hard to believe that someone who groomed a school to the point of having almost 300 students enrolling for waec would want to scam and destroy what she has built because of 5million. |

I'm considering Tcf too but the listening part of the TCF scares me (one gets to hear just once). nonye6194:i visited the Takwa bay beach in 1992 during àn excursion trip. I was in J.ss1 then. We boarded a ship (Yes it was a ship). We went through Snake Island, Ogogoro village. There was a tour guide on the ship doing the narration. The beach was pristine. We had so much fun that i came down with a fever and couldnt go to school for the next 2 or 3days. It was organised by the social studies teacher. Each student paid N100. It was well-planned. Teachers were really committed then. 48 Likes |

A quick one pls. I'm in the process of evaluating with Wes. Which delivery option do you advice- standard or tracking? Tracking cost an additional 80dollars. What's the implication for choosing standard? I'm only assessing my South Africa masters. Is that Ok or should I add Nigerian first degree? 1 Like |

Detreasure:I'm in the same situation. I maxed out my ielts score( LWSR 8.5,7.5,8,9) and having noticed that crs draws have been on 450 for some time, I started learning french from scratch since 1st April. I got a private tutor (not cheap, but I am determined). We hold 3 classes per week (Monday 1hr, Tuesday 2hrs, Thursday 2hrs). Most times, he exceeds the hours. I do a lot of learning on my own too. I watch easy French, rfi, tv5monde, watch French in action videos, all on youtube. I also downloaded some TEF materials from this thread. I had to read this thread from the beginning and I've been following quietly for some time. Now, I can read to an extent. Listening is still an issue, a big one. I think French people talk too fast. But I still practise listening daily even though I can only pick a few words. My teacher encourages me to listen all the same. I listen while driving, cooking and whenever I have some spare time. I've started practising speaking too. We hold 20minutes french conversation (he talks, i just listen) at the beginning of each class. He talks about world politics, the society etc. After conversation, we do grammar. Last week, he introduced role play after grammar lesson (e.g buying stuffs from shops, asking and giving directions, just simple everyday stuff). I also joined Duolingo, a French meet up club in Lagos. We watched a movie last month (Les tontons flinguers). Another meeting is coming up this weekend and they would be discussing "les couleurs" and " Les vetements". I am still learning and simply enjoying myself while at it. I still have a lot to learn. For books, I got Bescherrelle for French verbs, French dictionary and few novels. I downloaded Schaum's outline on French grammar. Be ready to use a lot of internet data. For now, I do not "economise" on data. My teacher says 8months is doable depending on how well I immerse myself. I'll join Alliance Francais TEF class before taking the exam. No date in mind yet as it's such a humbling journey. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Please I need info on things I need to do for visa grant for me, my hubby and 3kids. I'm going with family cos that's the only way I can focus on my studies. From discussions with my supervisor, I may likely get a tuition, living expenses scholarship. With a scholarship, education fee would be waived for my kids. I read that somewhere. I would only proceed if there's scholarship as the fee is about 84k I would like to know the following: 1. cost of medicals, biometrics, health insurance, visa application fee. 2.the minimum amount that should be in SO A? Which SOA would I present?mine, hubby or a relative. 3. What can enhance our visa chances? School is UNSW. Course LL.M by research. 2 yr programme 1 Like |

when I was in secondary school in the late 90s, a girl brought her American passport and those of her sisters to show off. Our Yoruba teacher entered class and saw the passports. He summoned her immediately and explained to her how important those documents were. I'm sure her parents were not aware she took them. |

And one of his daughters studied medicine in UI in the early 2000s when other politicians and MILADs who had looted sent theirs abroad. She lived with us in Queens hall. We queued together for water during outages and even fetched "konga". Have you seen any former governor's children in any Nigerian varsity of recent? They are all abroad. His housing estates were not for the rich. They were for low income earners. My mum said even pepper sellers were allocated flats in the estate. 2 Likes |
