Hello everyone,
I need your candid opinions, I intend to learn French in order to boost my crs score. Is it possible for me to achieve this feat?? The last time I studied French was in primary school. I just need 10marks more to get ITA.

Please, French experts in the house can I understand and write the exams within six months .

Thank you.
For the TEF/TCF exams, you actually must know French. 6 months is rather short except you enrol in an intensive French class. You would have to attend classes everyday and do a lot of work on your own too. It all boils down to having the time and the right motivation.

I started April this year. I attend classes daily (Monday-Friday) including a private conversational class on Saturdays. Sometimes, i feel i'm making progress, other times, i feel i havent done much.

Now i love the language even beyond passing TEF. Back to your question- Do you have the time? Are you well-motivated?

Health / Re: Lady Accuses Hospitals Of Turning C-section To A Profit Making Venture by ayandee: 2:35pm On Aug 10, 2019
Kendumazy:
Learnt something already. While your wife is pregnant, you can let her go for cervix scan to see if her cervix is okay to birth virginally. If yes. Then wait for that doctor that will say she can't birth virginally. Okay oooo!
beyond an adéquate cervix, there are other issues that may necessitate c-section even in a pregnancy that appears normal from the outset. Childbirth is a serious issue. It's better to have a woman and her child live. If your doctor says CS and explains why, please cooperate with him. When I had my second child, a woman was brought in from a traditional birth centre. She was in coma and had laboured for a long time. The doctors had to do an emergency surgery. The baby lived but the mother died. Her bed was next to mine. Throughout that night all of us (new moms) in that ward couldnt sleep. We didnt know her but we all grieved.
Also, a difficult labour can give rise to complications which can cause brain damage for the child. This happened to a friend's child. Now, she's spending a lot of time and money on therapy.
Yes, everyone wants vaginal birth but if doctor advises C-SECTION, please dont run.

If Sanwoolu wants to leave a proper legacy, open waterways for affordable boat public transport ALL OVER Lagos. Waking up at 4-5AM for job that starts 8AM is a ticking time bomb. A city of 24 million, all lives governed by traffic. Terrible stuff.
It's the only solution and they know but they wont do it. It will affect NURTW's revenue because a lot of commuters would use the waterways thus reducing the number of buses on the road. Nurtw is an important stakeholder in Lagos politics.

It's possible she took a bank loan with very high interest rate and all the deposits for the exam were taken by the bank.

I find it hard to believe that someone who groomed a school to the point of having almost 300 students enrolling for waec would want to scam and destroy what she has built because of 5million.

Ciao
i visited the Takwa bay beach in 1992 during àn excursion trip. I was in J.ss1 then. We boarded a ship (Yes it was a ship). We went through Snake Island, Ogogoro village. There was a tour guide on the ship doing the narration. The beach was pristine. We had so much fun that i came down with a fever and couldnt go to school for the next 2 or 3days. It was organised by the social studies teacher. Each student paid N100. It was well-planned. Teachers were really committed then.

A quick one pls. I'm in the process of evaluating with Wes. Which delivery option do you advice- standard or tracking? Tracking cost an additional 80dollars. What's the implication for choosing standard?

I'm only assessing my South Africa masters. Is that Ok or should I add Nigerian first degree?

Hello All Great TEFarians grin
I'm very glad to be here and will like to express a sincere appreciation to every contributor(s) on this thread. May we all achieve our individual heart desires.
Please myself and my spouse are intending to stat the EE process soon. After evaluating our scores using the CRS tools we discovered that we fall below the 450 points which is about the average points score according to the current trends in the draw. Hence, we discovered that if we try TEF exams and passed at 7 CLB on all 4 areas, we will be well above 470 points which is more than enough to receive ITA as of now.
My spouse will be our PA because of my age, but She will start from scratch as to French language.
Questions:
1. Is 8 months reasonably possible to learn, write and pass the TEF exams with a 7 CLB?
2. I'm planning on writing the TEF too, does my own result also count? I asked because the CRS tools only requests for PA's second language.
3. Is there any learning group we can join immediately?
4. What resources (Video or Books) can you recommend for a complete beginner (Newbs/Rookie)?
5. Can I evaluate only my HND and BCS IT certificate as two or more certificate?
Thank you as you assist with your advice.

Note: We are planning to ace IELTS as well.
I'm in the same situation. I maxed out my ielts score( LWSR 8.5,7.5,8,9) and having noticed that crs draws have been on 450 for some time, I started learning french from scratch since 1st April. I got a private tutor (not cheap, but I am determined). We hold 3 classes per week (Monday 1hr, Tuesday 2hrs, Thursday 2hrs). Most times, he exceeds the hours. I do a lot of learning on my own too. I watch easy French, rfi, tv5monde, watch French in action videos, all on youtube. I also downloaded some TEF materials from this thread. I had to read this thread from the beginning and I've been following quietly for some time.

Now, I can read to an extent. Listening is still an issue, a big one. I think French people talk too fast. But I still practise listening daily even though I can only pick a few words. My teacher encourages me to listen all the same. I listen while driving, cooking and whenever I have some spare time. I've started practising speaking too. We hold 20minutes french conversation (he talks, i just listen) at the beginning of each class. He talks about world politics, the society etc. After conversation, we do grammar. Last week, he introduced role play after grammar lesson (e.g buying stuffs from shops, asking and giving directions, just simple everyday stuff).

I also joined Duolingo, a French meet up club in Lagos. We watched a movie last month (Les tontons flinguers). Another meeting is coming up this weekend and they would be discussing "les couleurs" and " Les vetements".

I am still learning and simply enjoying myself while at it. I still have a lot to learn. For books, I got Bescherrelle for French verbs, French dictionary and few novels. I downloaded Schaum's outline on French grammar. Be ready to use a lot of internet data. For now, I do not "economise" on data.

My teacher says 8months is doable depending on how well I immerse myself. I'll join Alliance Francais TEF class before taking the exam. No date in mind yet as it's such a humbling journey.

With the scholarship, you have to provide the following

1. Medicals, 41k naira x 5, biometrics, 8,200naira X 5, Health insurance might be more than 2.0million naira because you have pay for the period of your study at once bfor visa application, one visa application fee AUD 575 covers the whole family.

2. There is no minimum amount for your SOA, put as much as you can because this increases your chances of showing that your condition in Nigeria is good. it is advisable to use your hubby's, urself, mum or dad account for the SOA bc[os u will be asked to prove your relationship with whosoever account you present.

3. The chances are the ability to prove that the family is going to australia genuinely and temporarily. This can be done by showing your present job details, your husband current job and why you want them to accompany you to australia while studying. Also, showing evidence for properties could help.

I hope this info helps!!!

Thank you very much for this. Well appreciated. Will update the house as things unfold.

Please I need info on things I need to do for visa grant for me, my hubby and 3kids. I'm going with family cos that's the only way I can focus on my studies.

From discussions with my supervisor, I may likely get a tuition, living expenses scholarship. With a scholarship, education fee would be waived for my kids. I read that somewhere.

I would only proceed if there's scholarship as the fee is about 84k

I would like to know the following:
1. cost of medicals, biometrics, health insurance, visa application fee.
2.the minimum amount that should be in SO A? Which SOA would I present?mine, hubby or a relative.
3. What can enhance our visa chances?

School is UNSW. Course LL.M by research. 2 yr programme

Lol so you'll go about telling everyone who cares that your kid has American citisenship? You'll be putting your kids into danger.

Better let no one know.
when I was in secondary school in the late 90s, a girl brought her American passport and those of her sisters to show off. Our Yoruba teacher entered class and saw the passports. He summoned her immediately and explained to her how important those documents were. I'm sure her parents were not aware she took them.

Oh yes. It's actual cool if you asked me. Once people hear TEF could boost their score, they quickly run to AF to do the exam hoping they'd luckily pass. This has increased the rate of failure. Asides the fact that candidates waste their money, it'd not be good for the reputation of AF if it's said that they only collect people's cash for the sake of it. Besides, that will no do any good to our statistics when French ministry of education releases the statistics of TEF results by country. Lol.

If one is really preparing for TEF (targeting B2), being tested for B1 shouldn't be a problem. I don't think AF is saying you should have DELF B1 certificate, they are only saying your French should be at B1 level, at least, before you attempt the exam.
so how do we prove that we are on B1 level? Are we going to write a test at AF to prove this?

And one of his daughters studied medicine in UI in the early 2000s when other politicians and MILADs who had looted sent theirs abroad. She lived with us in Queens hall. We queued together for water during outages and even fetched "konga". Have you seen any former governor's children in any Nigerian varsity of recent? They are all abroad.

His housing estates were not for the rich. They were for low income earners. My mum said even pepper sellers were allocated flats in the estate.
