Crimes happen everywhere. There's hardly any society that's completely rid of crime. But see how in this case the criminals were brought to justice. Speedy investigation, arrest of offenders, and prosecution which will take between 4 to 5 weeks. The offenders will be brought to justice.
That's the difference between Nigeria and those countries you mentioned. They have very strong institutions.

The issue is the school didn't make provision for on-site first aid/Cpr. Rushing her to medical facility is no first aid. For an open event like an inter-house sport, provision should have been made for first aid. Red cross offers that service for a pittance.

Last week I had an interview for a data analyst teaching job, after series of interview process which includes.
Analyzing data with Excel and BI
Extracting and cleaning data with Python &SQL
Modeling, analyzing and visualization with R.
Though my Python prowess wasn't that good but I was told that what they needed is a data analyst who can handle R very well and I really impressed in that aspect.

I showed my data analysis projects on the above software excluding Python. Then we went to oral interview which led to the salary part. I was asked to name my price.
I told them to give me a breakdown on how many days I will be coming to work because I learnt it will be part time teaching job, the interviewer agreed to mail me my schedule.

I was hoping it will be weekend (like Friday evening, Saturday & Sunday) only for me to realized it will be Mon-Thur (that's not part time, I told the manager or so).
The worst part is that they are willing to pay me 10k/week for the job and I will be paid each week I come to work which means it's only the weeks the students avail themselves that I will teach and be paid.

Those tech pay such ridiculous amount or am just unlucky?
What am I expected to do with 10k weekly?
Transport?
Data?
Food?
Electricity?
What exactly?

While we are trying to write ielts and do credential évaluation for Express entry or study visa, the Somalians are simply crossing US farmlands into Canada on a daily basis in large Numbers. I believe the opposite ... that one gets more religious when abroad. If one was a church goer in Nigeria ... when he goes abroad he will attend church because it is a must for him on Sundays ... a sin if he doesn't. When he gets to the church abroad ... he will see a huge difference... the biggest being collecting money is not a priority... they usually collect once or maybe twice if there is a special offering. If you give or don't give ... give much or give little doesn't matter at all... if you give $100 000 dollars you wouldn't be praised or be given special attention. The preaching will be to lift you spiritually ... help keep you away from worldly vices ... not about squeezing more money out of you. It is then your eyes will open and you realize all the while you were being scammed back home. Exactly. Here, you will understand true christanity. People seek God here just to be intimate with Him, nothing more. The sermons do not speak of the preacher's accomplishments. The focus is on the Bible. Even the prayer is not rhetoric. They pray like they are conversing with God.

No mention of tithe or offering. The donations box is at the back of the church hall. If you want to give, you go there and give as you are led. No compulsion. Canada can be very lonely. Steps to avoid loneliness:
1. Come with your partner or get married after landing. Marriage must be in your plans
2. Join oyinbo church and be active there. Join the choir and stay back after church for small talks.
3. Live in Nigerian dominated areas if you like to make naija friends. You will be invited to all their owambes
4. Encourage your siblings, cousins, nephews, friends to come either by way of study or PR.
I know people here who have so surrounded themselves with immediate and extended families that they conduct wedding for their children without needing to go to naija for the cérémony. I was really impressed. Colourful Aso-ebi and gele, amala-on-spot at the wedding. All within this Canada.

You have to décide to make Canada your home.

Very true. I felt very unsafe while studying in SA that I left immediately I finished my exams. Someone threw a very big stone through my window while studying. It shattered the glass and I would have been seriously injured if I was sitting. You dare not walk the suburbs of Capetown after 7pm. Students had to be bussed from hostel to the campus at night. That's why everyone drives at night.

Op stop disturbing yourself unnecessarily. Many Women have come here to study and filed for their husband and kids to join them shortly after. That happens more often and it is not reported in the media. Only the very few négative stories seep into the média.

Congratulations on your wife's admission and visa. Start getting ready to join her soon. Spend this time researching into the certifications necessary in your field and start planning on how to get them done to increase your prospects of a good job at landing.

Since his wife is a nurse in the UK, that means he could work in the UK. He should continue his practice here in Nigeria, write the UK bar exams and get licensed to practice in the UK as well. So He practices in both countries. I know a SAN who practices both in Nigeria and Canada.

which Kasala? Canada is not south Africa or some Arab country. Majority of Nigerians are here as PR. When you come in as PR, you get citizenship in 3 years. Even as PR, you have as many benefits as a citizens except the right to vote and join military. All that will change once you get citizenship.

And Canadians are generally very polite, kind and nice.

And what you don't know is that the Nigerians I know here are bringing in their family members into Canada in droves and oftentimes through school. Do you know how much it costs to spend a minimum of 2 semesters in a school in Canada? That's the reason they don't send anything home, they are investing in the future of family. Why give a man a fish when you can teach him to fish?

You understand the situation well. Nigerians in Canada are doing everything to bring their siblings, nephews and cousins into Canada whether through study or provincial nomination.
Most of them won't tell you.

Don't listen to anyone discouraging you from coming to Canada if you have the opportunity except your financial situation in Nigeria is really good like being able to afford international fees for your kids for their degree, medical trips abroad if situation demands, ransome money if kidnapped (God forbid).
