The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC ) will on November 19,
2018 press charges against a disgraced former lecturer of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-
Ife, Richard Akindele, at the Federal High Court, Osogbo, who reportedly demanded sex from one his post
graduate students, Monica Osagie, for enhanced mark.
The Professor of Accounting andManagement will be confronted by the ICPC with three-count charge of abuse of public office, breach of trust and exploitation in his capacity as a lecturer in order to be appeased with sex and offer of higher marks in a course that the student is supoised to have failed in 2007.

The offence, according to ICPC , is punishable under Sections 8 (1) (a) (ii), and 18 (d) of the Corrupt
Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.
One of the counts reads, “That you, professor Akindele, on or about the 16th day of September, 2017 at
Ile-Ife did corruptly ask for sexual benefits for yourself from Ms. Monica Osagie on account of favour to
be afterwards shown to her by you in the discharge of your official duties as a lecturer in the Department
of Management and Accounting,
Obafemi Awolowo University, to wit; altering her academic grades in the course with code MBA 632-
Research Method from fail to pass; and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under
Section 8(1)(a)(ii) of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.”
The 57-year-old professor is reported to have begged through his lawyer, Omotayo Alade-Fawole, for
plea-bargain having admitted guilt and also cited ill-health as a factor that might hinder him from
withstanding the rigours of prison life.

President Muhammadu Buhari’ s son , Yusuf , has started his mandatory National Youth Service Corps at the
NYSC Orientation camp in the Kubwa area of the Federal Capital Territory , Abuja .
This is coming about 11 months after the President ’s son had a bike injury in the Gwarinpa area of the FCT
which got him admitted to a private medical facility in Abuja for a few weeks .
Yusuf had on Tuesday ,December 26 , 2017 ,sustained a head injury froma bike crash, breaking one ofhis limbs in the process . He was thereafter rushed to the Cedar Crest Hospital, Gudu District , for treatment .“ He has undergone a surgery at a clinic in Abuja . He is in a stable condition , ” the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu , had said.
The young man was later flown out of the country and returned hale and hearty on March 1, 2018 .
Yusuf’ s sister , Zahra Indimi, confirmed that the President ’s son had started the mandatory NYSC .
She shared the information on her Insta -story on Instagram, showing Yusuf’ s photograph in the NYSC kit .
The NYSC secretariat could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.

ago.Sola was burnt- no,I think cremated is the best word to use- to ashes for an alleged theft.Till now,no
one has been pointed to as the instigator or perpetrator of this teary tale.No matter how grave the offence,no
man is permitted to take another's life.Sadly,the crimes that we(Nigerians) commit against our kind are of a
dimension that brings memories of historic wrongs back to reality.The mass-killers should secretly ask
themselves,what if Sola had a son,when the child grew up,how happy would he feel to be associated with a
society where his father was killed without a coffin or a grave? Very sad.May God save us from us!

For me the percentage of rejected ballots also played a significant role in this election. we still have a very long way to go as per voters education ahead of 2019. To me politician should focus more on voters education to enhance their chances rather than waisting money on the electorates that still end up cast their vote wrongly
