Kudducini:Lol. He is Nigerian alright or his parents are.....see his wiki page |
So I am a huge WWE mark since I was a child and I still follow it religiously. For a few weeks, there has been a lot of buzz about a new wrestler in NXT...WWE developmental.. Name- Apollo Crews. I was quite indifferent because WWE is not really known for pushing pure black guys to the top (Booker T was never RAW champion and the New day are self made. The rock is Samoan....just countering all arguments before it begins). Anyways, he just arrived and has become the Number one contender for the NXT champion. That made me take notice. Like ....ok...Maybe WWE has plans for the guy other than just mid card level things. So I googled the guy and I was pleased to discover the guy is a Naija boy....or as Wikipedia put it "Of Nigerian descent" Apollo Crews's real name is Sesugh Uhaa (which side be this abeg). He is apparently a huge indy star having wrestled in smaller outfits like Dragon Gate USA promotion, which also led to him making his first trip to Japan to work for Dragon Gate. Born in Sacramento, California, Uhaa was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and early on fell in love with professional wrestling, becoming a fan of performers such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock and especially Kurt Angle. He went to a military high school and began practicing various sports, including soccer, football and track and field, as both an outlet and a way to "get away from the military life".While weight training in high school, he was given the nickname "Uhaa Nation", when his coach noted that he was "as strong as a single nation". Although, he didn't win his first title match due to outside interference, he was made to look strong. That he is being pushed so soon after weeks of promos of his arrival shows that Triple H has big plans for him . I just hope it transcends to the main stage and he is pushed to the top. I mean he is a high flyer AND a power house. That's amazing. In random news.... "Sorry about your damn Luck' James Storm, Beer Money himself is now in NXT. Whoooohoooooo #yeahiwatchtnasometimestoo @lalasticlala @honeric01 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_SLQYPC6Vw

Why do you bloggers lie like this na? They were kidding around with jollof rice. What do you people gain from falsehood sef? The screen shot is not attaching. Just check the original don jazzy post on his instagram. #saynotofalseblogging #imustbelindaikejibyhookorcrook |
I really feel for you @barcanista. When he was an APC guy, He wrote an article that people called Anti APC and blacklisted him. He ported to Pop. Now he writes another articles that people consider anti-igbo and the insults flow. I am amazed. Is someone expected to have a one track mind and way of reasoning? Why is he not allowed to have dissenting opinions on matters without being termed a "betrayer". It is really unfair to put anyone in a box, insult someone whose view you have been applauding when it favour yours then get vicious when it does not support yours. But honestly. Is any of this even important or relevant? This is the least of our problems na |
@Seun this should not be on front page. It is false news. It should be taken down |
Even a 10 year old would decipher his intention. If he had added "feels" before the "like", there would have been no issue. His saying "like 10 years ago" is similar to say "been forever since I saw you"...... See wetin shorthand writing don cause. |
Videos Pictures ? This is 2015. No one recorded the mayhem? Gerrarahere |
EbirichBen:Bros no vex. I didn't know it was a "solution finding" scenario that the op was postulating . |
Amen |
emmysoftyou:Ok, my soon to be former country man , I truly pray your desire for secession does not become something you would regret someday. It is one thing to love your tribe, but lets not be blind to its faults. The east has been ruled by Igbos for the past 55 years. Is it really any different from other parts of the country ruled by other tribes. Is it not likely that bad leadership is an encompassing problem suffered in all region, which is not likely to go away, simply because you have your own country? Think about it. Are Igbos truly united as one tribe or do they suffer internal conflicts like every other tribe? Me, I don't want or need war. As an amateur war historian (Macabre, i know), no one wins in today's modern warfare. Nobody. I went to a predominately igbo school. i served in a core yoruba town. I did my Law School in the North. Every tribe brings something to the table. If we can keep aside all these pettiness, let go of the past, put our resources today.....what would America be, compared to us? Nigerians are amazingly talented people. We should be great. I expect my generation to be better and fix things. Secession won't serve anyone and i pray we don't learn that too late |
We are quick to call on our culture and religion when it suits us but we are quick to forget what our culture and religion teaches us about raining curses on people. There is a huge line between light shade yabbing and cursing one's parents or wishing death on people. Please, let's not be so quick to cuss out a virtual stranger. You don't have to raise to baits all the time. Your ability of self control is what separates man and wild animals. Let's learn to live in peace I sound like Gandhi 's long lost descendant. . Namaaste |
Ok, the Seuniers bit is hilarious. Nice list |
Nah Nah Nah You cannot obtain a Nigerian passport without the father again. I remember the hell I went through in 2014 to get my beebee's passport. they wanted his passport photograph, his passport page. A sworn letter of authority. At a point, they even spoke to him. I was so angry ehhhhhh. They were like "madam, no vex. Na the policy now o. Too many fathers have come to fight them that the woman ran away with their children. It made me mad That a man, who can also run away with the children, escape such scrutiny. The woman could have lied that he is dead sha. (probably produced a fake death certificate)...,,..,if his side of the story is true. |
But I thought he has been granted bail? Vanguard said so yesterday na |
papaejima1:Hey. I get where you are coming from. Let me try my part to address the issues you raised. Nigeria is a flawed nation. No one is disputing that. But there is no igbo agenda. The grievances you people suffer, the rest of us suffer too. No one is free from police harassment or intimidation. Sorry about your friend but a trigger happy igbo policeman can also do the same. A trigger happy hausa police will do same to a hausa man.Police of any tribe care only about the bribe you give them. they may lessen the amount if you speak their language, but that money they will collect. Extra judicial killing is a collective Nigerian problem. On the issue of Nnamdi Kanu's wealth, I don't know if what you say is true. Someone posted pictures of his house once and another picture in a very expensive Indian inspired white outfit. It didn't matter back then because I assume he works and is using his money, but if you say he is not wealthy, it could be that he is using the donations to fund a wealthy lifestyle. A kind of Ponzi scheme. I don't know how it takes to run a solo broadcast radio station. I cannot argue on that. I know nothing about the broadcasting world. I don't know if radio stations are charged a fee to air.....we know he's not paying to air... So I don't know if all donations, which really should be going to prepare the east for self governance, is going towards funding his station. I did some research on the Ezu river massacre just now. While there was accusations and counter accusations, no one could really say what truly happened. From rituals, to communal clash, to police dumping criminals, to Massob claiming genocide......... The truth remains. We will probably never know what happened but it will be unfair to just go with the option that points to igbo genocide. I gave a Mandela /Martin Luther King example, because they were referred, dignified in their resistance and are legends today. A gra gra "freedom fighter" is not what is needed. History has shown that once they (freedom fighters) gain power, they become dictators. I pray you people get Biafra peacefully.. But that cannot be achieved when you include other regions that is not in the east. That's where, for me, the major grouse keeps revolving around... At least on Nairaland. I pray for a peaceful separation. Please answer thiS. There are million of igbos all over the world. What do you think would happen if Nigeria is forcefully torn apart. A resentful Nigerian government will send every Igbo out of all regions (they are after all now illegal aliens). They may or may not diplomatically say if igbos want to leave in Nigeria, they need to acquire Biafran passports and then apply for immigration like any other African. Igbos leaving abroad would now be left with an invalid passport. Since it is now an e passport thing,a vindictive Nigerian government would cancel all igbos in diaspora' Nigerian passport leaving to mass exodus from all countries in the world. NO one would question Nigeria because as long as they are not killing igbos, no one can force them to be civil. The newly created country would be overwhelmed with million of displaced resentful igbos tromping in, leading to chaos. So, a lot of things should be put in place first.Set up the East to be a place to be envied. There are brilliant igbo people developing the world and other parts of Nigeria, but neglecting their home. Sudan was granted a referendum and what happened, the new country is already having another civil war. History should never be ignored. It keeps us from repeating the same mistakes |
papaejima1:You may be right. He may be a big fish. Outside Nairaland, i barely heard of the guy but the whole arrest thing has made him relevant. Maybe i am misjudging the guy's relevance. I don't know. The question i want to ask you, is his message the right type? Is his message the way a bloodless revolution can be achieved. I never listened to his broadcast but I have read on Nairaland that he has called on Igbo youths to arm themselves in preparation. That he has called on them to attack police stations and that he insults, not only other tribes but igbos that do not agree with him. I don't know if all of these are true or misunderstood . You can clarify that. My problem is that he doesn't have the qualities that makes a sympathetic freedom fighter. One, he is wealthy (you may say..and so?....but it kinda matters), he is not in Nigeria and he is not known for championing charity cases or using his money to develop the eastern region (if he has, please correct me) You cannot fault Nigeria for jamming the signals. It is one thing to push for independence. It is another thing to continuously denounce a country and call for a break up in the harshest of terms. No sovereign nation in the world will be ok with that. Radio stations should never be allowed to spread hate. Read on the Rwandan Genocide. It is illegal. it is wrong. It is not the way to go. Maybe I am not getting the guy's appeal but the limited people (igbos) i have spoken to, are not for him. They are all for Biafra. (Heck, if Biafra is what Igbos truly truly want and it can be achieved without blood, I am for Biafra too), but I wish there was a Martin Luther King/ Mandela figure leading the movement........ |
papaejima1:i have no problem with some level of shade. I am a Nigerian. Yabbing has been a part of our culture since childhood and i find it amusing, as long as it is kept light. I don't want this to denigrate into yet another igbo/yoruba 12 round e boxing tournament. Trying to keep a tight lid on that. I am very open to contrary opinions. Like Mr supporter of APC said something i kind of agree with. Why has the DSS not come out to strongly affirm or deny it? I still have my doubts but he made a fair point. |
kingbasil:Do we have an intelligence unit? Nigeria government never acts on time. They only react when the public outcry has reached fever pitch. Lets hope that we get some concrete news soon. Frankly, i am tired of it all. Give them a referendum already. That would save a lot of drama and unnecessary tension. |
mrjangaweed:Ok. Smart Alec. First of all, The VANGUARD newspaper didn't carry his story. It was online. You and i know how online stories are fabricated everyday...case and point...Sahara reporters. Many times on this forum, that same Vanguard ngr has been debunked for spreading falsehood. And news of this nature, EVERY paper would carry it, even the 'yoruba' newspapers. You may say they who skewer the information to favour whoever pays their paycheck but they will carry it. 2. I didn't say Kanu was a criminal. Your Vanguard paper, which you are alluding to, implied that he is. Or else why will they carry a report that he has been granted bail. You have to be charged on some kind of criminal offence to be granted bail. So if you say he is not facing criminal charges, then they will be no need to be granted bail.....and then that would mean Vanguard ngr is wrong which goes back to point one 3. I could put a bunch of links that shows DSS denying having him, but you would say the sources are not authentic and i could probably agree with you there. I take everything i read online with a 'bucket' of salt. These are some links http://www.itomienews.com/latest-news/we-dont-have-him-dss-denies-arresting-radio-biafra-director-nnamdi-kanu/ http://happenings.com.ng/we-dont-have-him-in-our-custody-dss-denies-arresting-radio-biafras-directorthe-department-of-state-services-dss-has-said-it-is-not-aware-of-the-purported-arrest-of-one-nnamdi-kanu-the-director/ (I am not vouching for these links, as no major newspaper has carried it, but this is out there anyways) But it begs the question. why would they lie? No disrespect but Nnamdi Kanu is not that big a fish in the Nigerian scene. I believe higher profile Niger Delta strong men have been arrested and the Government didnt hide it. Why him? Why no pictures? Like I said, I am not trying to convince you that this doesn't feel right. Let your instincts guide you. Till date, i tell everyone that Chibok girls is the biggest Naija scam of 2014. I follow my guts. If this turns out that i am wrong and he was truly arrested and all, i will admit that i was wrong. It is not a big deal, seriously. Stop with the oluwole certificate thing. It is disrespectful |
wheredemdey:why don't you kindly point out the jargons? I am not averse to an apology ( to whom i would be apologizing to, i am not sure....), but i will do if you can give me facts on how MY OPINION is wrong |
I cannot understand why some people can put forth a dissenting opinion without hurling insults like a petulant hormonal dysfunctional little child. If you believe i am wrong, tell me why in civil terms, stating your facts ...Isn't everyone in the forum over 18? |
I am not pro Biafra, anti Biafra or pro yoruba. Frankly, this whole e war needs to stop already. We have over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria. The rest of us are sick of always reading about it. One cannot even avoid your threads because some smartass would bring the issue into threads that has no co-relation whatsoever. You all need to cease already. That being said, I don't know Kanu personally. I never listened to his broadcasts. I don't really care but some things don't make sense. And as Judge Judy would say, if it does not make sense, it is not true. Now we hear that he was arrested at the airport or at a hotel......we don't even have a straight story as to where he was arrested....but all indications point to somewhere public. Yet no one, in this era of "social media-ness", no one, absolutely no one got a video or a photo. Really? No major news station covered it. Really? Till now, the government never released a statement that they arrested him. Only his side is saying so. Lets assume there is a huge hush up about the arrest and all. I read this evening he was granted bail. Which Federal/State court was he charged to? The guy was arrested over the weekend and then charged to court on Monday and granted bail on the same day?? in Nigeria? which Court? I am a lawyer. Even at its fastest, our legal system does not work THAT fast especially in high profile criminal cases. And if he appeared in any court , we would have all heard about it. I hate it when people assume that Nigerians are mumus and you can just give us some story and we will fall for it, hook, line and sinker. Even in America, i am certain that no one charged on treason or terrorist charges would be given bail THAT quickly (I stand to be corrected with examples) I don't know what the truth is. I really don't care, either way but this arrest does not make sense yet...and unless there are details that the public is not privy too, I am thinking that this is a huge scam or a game to get public attention and my people are eating it hook, line and sinker.....Hmmmm Disclaimer, Keep it civil with me. This is my opinion. I am entitled to it. if you decide to cuss me out, i will not respond. If you turn this into a bashing thread, i will report every post. If i missed out any facts, please let me know |
When was he charged to court that he is being granted bail? Common sense naaaa. |
Dude, weekend does not count... Three working days and there is exception when it involves a country,'s sovereignty |
Very cool |
BushidoBlue:Na the same thing I dey wonder? Every topic somehow leads to this increasingly irritating tribal e war. We have over 250 ethnic groups oooo |
Bonapart:Yet 2 comments above, you called them slaves without provocation. If they react, no one will see the instigation. #saynototribalism I love the wine carrying part. Different people calling the bride even old grandpa's. It's very cute |
Great collection but the Nagin poster is not the version that was popular in Nigeria |
To the Ghanians reading this, I apologize on behalf of my people. They can be crass at times. I apologize again Do you think Nigeria is debt free? Show some respect. We claim to have culture. Culture demands you treat your neighbours with dignity at all times |
MEN! it was not a funny thing. I grew up at 4th Avenue...my folks were home. They had to crouch down fearing stray bullet. Our B.Q tenant said he was hiding under his bed. He then remembered his shoes were outside. So he crawled to the door doing some Rambo stealth mode movement to pick them (incase they decide to go house robbing next, they won't know he is at home)....... I was told the bullets traveled far beyond the banking areas...... The irritating thing is that the huge police station is less than 10 minutes away. Okadas will never agree to drive you past their route. It's only on their head that those mungo Park looking officers have power. Nonsense. They were called and informed the caller that they were aware of this crisis. The person said 'still on your way After 30 minutes of all these shootings...are you waiting for helicopter? (I don't know if this part is actually true. Na the gist my mama give me o). |
lastpage:There is a huge difference between a dissenting opinion and outright insult... Example -I dont believe in Islam or its policies-opinion. Islam is evil and it's prophet is a pedophile - outright insult. I am sorry about your one year ban. It is too long but last I checked, 'i' didn't ban you. There are good and bad muslims. There are good and bad Christians. Let's learn to deal with people on an individual basis (we all hate it when people brand our tribe as either 'dirty', 'criminals' or 'ashawos'.....) .you don't have to agree with Islam. No one is forcing anyone to, but just leave us alone Sorry about your ban again. One year is harsh man |
ECOTERRORS:You kick me off your Christian thread and yet complain about the restrictions in commenting on ours. Christians comment all the time on our thread but don't come there to insult and disparage our religion when we don't do the same to yours. Is that really so unreasonable? It's alright. No hard feelings. Peace. |
