i nominate my bro @tbaba1234 to speak for APC |
see all these romantic stories sha. it was a slow friday at work. so i was surfing the net and playing farmville. got a buzz from someone at a chatting site. we got talking. he : i live at ...... me: i grew up there. he: really i stayed at street ... me: me too he: serious me: very he: i stay at no..... are u alhaji .... daughter? u have a sister named ...... me: yes ooooo he: then u must know the ........ me : ofcourse ( ii had no idea.... .picks phone and calls my younger sister and asked about the family in question. my sister was the darling of the street then. very cute and friendly . she gave a name ) u have a brother named ....... so thats how we gor talking. turns out we were equally doing masters at lag. me part time, he full time different departments so we find time to meet one day. i remember my first impression... damn his head is huge... so we got talking and dating. he is the most unromantic person in the world but a jolly good sport for my goofiness. after a year, he said he wanted to meet my mother. i asked for what. he said bush gel, should i not meet ur mum before marrying u. i was like bush man is dat how u ask a girl to marry u? do it properly. i want the whole bended knees. he grumbled something about indian movie corrupting me. A week later, he asked how i want to be proposed to. annoyed at this point, i told him he should not ask me directly. he should use stealth and make it romantic. he was silent. 2 days later, his friend called and said bros said he should find if i want real or fake roses, cos real roses are expensive for flowers that will soon die. never did get my dream proposal. sigh. here we are . 3 years now. we have a princess. he is unromantic but he makes an effort and dats all |
i could not even think of a befitting response to this post. |
kini big deal dats his past. I am his future. whats in a ring? |
i am a living example o. entered school at 14. graduated 19 (private school thingz. no strike). law school at 20. did my 21st birthday during NYSC. Some people r just early bloomers. P.S i trust no politician. |
wow. That was quite a read. Speechless |
wckabuoh:Which Satellite town? Guy no lie o Light only comes late at nite when one is asleel and gone when one awakens. I wouldnt call dat an improvement |
If u can list the meals u have tried, we can suggest other meals. My 10 month is a very picky eater. It took a million tries to get 6 meals she would take and no, cereal is not included, so share |
OP started this thread with the mindset of tackling the 'feminist'. this is not even a gender issue. your family history of how ur mother the third wife made the two other wives very envious doesnt paint the best picture and was irrelevant to the topic. men praising u shd read the way u address people dat r disagreeing with u. that tells a lot about a person more than one saying the 'politically correct' lines. |
madam. some women gain during breastfeeding. others lose. no hard and fast rule. pls do not do anything extreme. whatever u take in or fail to take in will affect your pikin. u will lose the weight in due time. its just 2 months. it took u 9 months togain the weight. it can take that long to lose it too. until then, dont sweat it and enjoy your pikin |
wo1F: Please don't take this the wrong way but you don't know what you're talking, okay?i read your submissions and i beg to differ. First, we are not America Second, We have always had primaries, or PDP atleast. with Obj, with YAr adua even with his overwhelming support. whatever the reason . the primaries are there for every member of the party to cast their vote. Unless what you are implying that GEJ has just been endorsed by all the members and not just a select committee. third- APC has been heavily critized and rightly so for doing similar endorsement. i find it morally wrong that it now becomes ok. bonus- come on bros.u and i know PDP is far from united. none of our parties are united. |
Amanwulu1: not same as what apc does. Dis is not one man bullying others to step down. Besides, u're talking about an incumbent president recieving d blessing of his party members. Do u hear anybody complaining as in d case of apc?Bullying is a matter of opinion. some may also say that he is using his position as incumbent to bully the other PDP hopefuls and avoid primaries. incumbency should not mean a free ride. plus it will be highly hypocritical since APC has been criticized by supporters of PDP for them to turn around and be completely ok with GEJ |
isn't this one of the major criticism of APC ? Unilaterally selecting a candidate without primaries. This sets a bad precedence. EVen if GEJ is the clear favourite of his party, i prefer they do the primaries still. |

@AbuYinka, my muslim brother. Don't do that. Don't get involved. |
@CocoCandy Saying Alfas are synonymous to babalawos is lik saying pastors are synonymous with babalawos. Every religion has fake chartalans, but also good ones. Let's not generalise. |

James Avery has died at the age of 65. The actor -- best known for playing Uncle Philip Banks on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air -- died at an L.A. hospital on Tuesday, Dec. 31. According to TMZ, Avery recently underwent a surgery for an undisclosed illness. His wife, Barbara Avery, was at the hospital at the time of his death. Avery starred in Fresh Prince with Will Smith from 1990 to 1996. Shortly after his passing, his onscreen son, Alfonso Ribeiro, addressed about the loss via Twitter. "I'm deeply saddened to say that James Avery has passed away. He was a second father to me. I will miss him greatly," the 42-year-old wrote, also sharing a picture of Avery with his wife. Avery went on to appear in several other TV series, including The Jamie Foxx Show, The Division, That '70s Show, The Closer and Grey's Anatomy. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/james-avery-dead-65-fresh-prince-bel-air-190000424-us-weekly.html

I have no problem with the OP's concern. They are family. You would always be concerned about their actions if you genuinely love them. My only grouse is the "ALLOW" bit.... Should we allow him marry her? That's not your place...... Maybe your parents but not yours. I don't see anything wrong in questioning his motive and being sure he knows what he is doing and getting into, cos at the end of the day, his life, his rules, his choices. |
aizakun: My. Wife's EDD is a week from now and the doctor said she is going thru a CS,although my wife's vagina is tight cos she was marrried as a virgin, the scan showed that my baby is 2.9kg and there is no breach, pls. Advise on what to do cos I am not concerned about the cost of the CS but the risk and my wife is fat so the tendency of her stomach going down is giving a problem, pls I need advice from the houseBoss, there are many reasons why your doctor would suggest CS beyond the baby weight and breach. He won't have suggested if the risk of normal delivery didn't outweigh the risk of CS. You can enquire on the reason from him, but even if u are not fully satisfied with his reasons, do as he says. That's why they are the doctors. Your wife's weight may play a factor in it being a CS. Her tummy will come down. Don't sweat it. Its not like it was flat before. Insist that she be awake during the operation and enjoy your little pikin. |
Its not a Nigerian fear. A lot of women all over the world don't like CS. For one, it is a major stomach surgery which involves slicing all the layers and muscles in the stomach. Watch a YouTube video. 2nd, you are open to infection, complications and the incision opening. 3rd, recovery is a b****h. I have had two. Not my finest hours. 4th, the flabby loose tummy skin that no amount of crunches or dieting can ever get rid of. 5th,there is this stereotype that only lazy women have CS (I confess I was of this mindset until I was in Labour for 3 days) HOWEVER, all the above is null and void if your health or that of your baby is at stake. It is only the living that can complain. So if the doctors say its CS, forget everything, forget every fear and do what they say. |
Supernatural. The angels have been expelled from heaven. Season 9 will be awesome British Doctor who. Series 4 and 5. 'Hello, I am the doctor' |
Its either you have a half baked lawyer or you were not just willing to pay him his fee, cos ideally, you should have already started the process. Anyways, what you should do now is to send a notice to quit as soon as possible which must be 6 MONTHS, since they are yearly tenants. I always advice my clients that are landlords to issue out quit notice 6 months before their tenant's tenancy expires, (the day on the notice should be the last day of their tenancy or the day after), not because you want the person out but on general principles to save yourself all the hassles. You should issue one on the 2nd of DEcember (with EVIDENCE that they received it ooooo. either by their signing the photocopy or sending it by post and they receiving it and you collect the evidence of that receipt, but proof MUST show that they received it on that day, cos they can always deny. Any notice sent on the 2nd will expire on the 3rd or 4th of June to be safe. You can extend over 6 months but you cannot go lower, so if you are not sure when 6 months reaches or when they will receive it, then add a few days to be safe. Immediately after that, issue them their 7 day notice of your intention to recover possession. You do everything right, you won't have a problem with court and even if they want to do Agidi, which would be hard if things are proper, remember that at the end of all the Agidi, they must pay the arrears of the time wasted and the lawyer fees and even court fee, if you include it all in your petition for their removal. Get a smart lawyer. Doesn't stop you from pursuing a peaceful resolution, but sha issue the quit notice properly while going that route. To all landlords and future landlords, no matter how wonderful your tenants are, issue your quit notice 6 months to expiration no matter what. If they ask why, just tell him, it is nothing personal, just business. You don't have to act on it, but sha guard yourself. the law no dey favour landlord, so be prepared. |
What's the big deal? This happens ALL the time in the high court. They have been simply asked to refile their case properly. Personally, I don't understand why lawyers even bother starting with originating summons when in 99.9 percent of the time, d other side would oppose even if they have a stupid defence and the judge would order a conversion. A lot of time has been wasted by us lawyers starting with O.S instead of a writ. And in a land matter again? Hahaha. Good luck to them though |
Please stop derailing. |
ifyalways: So,its 2020 and I'm at a wedding reception. The groom is Dayokanu and the bride is Coogar's cute, innocent lil' sister.Pharisees . However, the truth is as much as I hate HATE (emphasis) to admit it, it is a man's world. It sucks, but it is. Countless times I have gotten into arguments with my husband on why certain rules apply to me and not to him and he tells me point blank 'You are not a man" Sadly, women are the one that bear the consequences for any indiscretion even though there are two parties involved, whether it be her reputation or an unplanned pregnancy. Meanwhile, I got a mail yesterday from the guy. He finally got his mother to talk to him. She said that none of her children except the brother has made any attempt to settle down. That her and their father has been extremely disturbed that all the children (including the girls) are in their thirties and are still single. Finally, his brother decides to ease their worry and he comes around to ruin it. He then asked her what should he have done? She responded that 'she doesn't know, but not what he did'. The guy is confused, I am sure the mother is confused, even me I am confused. This is one of the grayest matter I have ever had to give advice on. No info on the brother's actions though. Nobody is giving him any information on what is happening at that end. |

The knee jerk reaction I also had when I got the mail is why would he do that? But we are known to make rash decision when we are angry. I put myself in his shoes and wondered if I found out after the wedding that my sister had married someone who was known as a notorious cultist who was said to have killed many people back in school, how would I react? would I mind my business and act as if I don't know? God forbid, he is the violent type and ends up killing her during a domestic dispute, is it then I would now say 'ewo! I should have said something' @ J S, yes his timing was wrong, but the guy didn't intend to make a public scene. He didn't do anything at the wedding. He didn't immediately go tell the parents. Perhaps, if he had not seen the brother that night, he might not have said anything. Again, this is his younger brother. They probably had a good relationship and he felt that he could tell him what he knew. He admitted that he didn't use the best of words, but if the brother already knew of the girl's history, he would not have punched him or said the brother ruined his life. @Tbaba, dear brother mine, your reasoning is sound, but it takes a cool head to think of this, and this would still be viewed by some as meddling. @Kanwulia, the brother probably rushed to conclusions about the girl as you have rushed to the conclusion about me already. tsk tsk @ifyalways, it is possible he met the girl. He never said he didn't. He resides in another state. Chances are high that he only met her days before the wedding. He said she looked eerily familiar but he put it down to always seeing her picture on his brother's dp. It is obvious that back in school, he knew her more by reputation than on a friendship level. As per knowing the girl's past, we all know university life is like Las Vegas. What Happens there usually remains there. He would not have punched his brother if he knew................Everyone has a past, but pasts get levels o! There are some pasts that can hunt you for life. I am not holding brief for the guy. Personally, I think He did a lot of things wrong, but on an objective level, we don't really do 'lemme mind my business' when our loved one is involved. The question is what would you do if your brother or your sister was involved? |
troy20: the brother just got wedded to a woman whom obviously he is going to live forever with.what do you think? You bring up info on a woman when half of it are rumours? What did you hope to achieve at that moment? You just ruined the dudes life.shoulda just kept quite and watch from a distance.he was already wedded for christsake.I agree with u on face value. However, there are so many dynamics in the matter. Lets assume most of the rumors are true and his brother remains childless for long without knowing the reason or gets an incurable disease, is it then that he should now speak up? You think he would ever forgive himself knowing that he could have prevented it if only he had said something earlier. I don't agree with what he did, but I understand why he did it. Is silence truly the best action in such a case? |
troy20: terrible thing to do. non of his business.very shamefull of himIs it really none of his business? It is his brother. What would you have done? |
bigtt76: Call the girl aside and let her in on all you know about her ...recording the session of course. If she nor take off on her own you ask your broda how far. If he doubts it tgen you play back the tape. If he still nor budge ...park load leave them alone. That requires planning and a rational mind. We rarely take rational decisions when we are angry. |
bigtt76: Na who send am messageWhat action would you have taken? |
