@nimshi slippery or sturdy slope, na you sabi. I was not implying that SV is porn. I have only asked a question as an example. You have assumed that the judgement was passed on S. Rushdie without the concerned authorities actually reading the publication. Can you actually prove this? We find it so easy to pass judgements on other authority once it's not the US of A, or Britain. Note that I do not know the details but since you are so vehement about how wrong the sentence was, can you say for sure that it was passed with no knowledge of what Satanic Verses contained? |
DavidDylan:David, See I always wonder what you'd do without America. It seems it's the ALL in your eyes! Nnkan ile aye ni, we will not leave this world with it, ok. |
And of what use is his reading of the book? If you reindeer and nimshi wish to read it, go ahead, it's your life, why do you insist that he has to read it to know that it is bad. porn movies are bad for you spiritually. Do you have to watch one to know they are truly bad? |
@nimshi All you have explained is very clear. You have refused to answer, not evaded the question. And if you take time to read my post, I have answered your questions. Again, a question is not the same thing as a smear, stop trying to play victim here. Hopefully, people who wrongly refer to you as a muslim read your post! |
@bastage As old as time is, humans, though say they worship God, have more to gain from it than God. There will be people who will worship God for the sake of Him alone; there are those that will worship so they can gain entrance into aljannah; there will be those that will do it so they do not enter the blazing fire. These are all valid reasons. yoruba people say, "man worhips himself, says he worships God" |
@nimshi I will not be inserting your quotes here. Thank you for your lenghty response. You will not surprise me, that will be really hard. I asked if you are a muslim, you give me lenghty paragraphs; and say "this is a smear, and against all decency" my dear, it is a question; while you are free to not answer it, I am also free to draw attention to the fact that you have consistently evaded the question. I state that I do not say you or anyone is afraid, if they do not declare that they are muslims, I spoke for myself, you still have an issue with that, great too Your contributions have mostly been non meaningful to the topic at hand as far as I am concerned. You ask who am I to make this statement? It is not clear, I ask you, you dribble around the question. Still not a meaningful contribution. I found a number of "who are you?s" in your post. It is not personal. You never take permission before you twist what other people post so why are you insisting on knowing who I am? What I have posted are my frank observations about you from your posts; nothing you have posted since then has changed my view. You are justifying your acts which is fine, you are free and so am I. What responses are you waiting for from me? If you say you are a muslim, I would believe that you need more education (I do too) and would tell you so. If you are not a muslim, I will let the likes of David and co know so that they do not continue to tout you as one. If you consider the question about being a muslim (which still remains unanswered) a smear, sorry I cannot help you there. I am not asking anymore but I will refer to it as one that remains unanswered. |
@nimshi you can set the ball rolling, it is indeed an interesting topic and I have been running after my first 6 figure job, so yeah, that's why I haven't posted in a while. @javalove. This is very true indeed i.e the fact that we muslims are the ones encouraging the use of these terms. To start with Islam encourages moderation in all that you do as a muslim. Now this has nothing to do with compromise. Compromise in the sense of if Allah says, do not drink alcohol, you cannot drink it simply because everyone at the party was drinking it and anyway, you only took a sip. Nope, that's not what moderation means. So first we need dto recognise what compromise (disobedience to Allah) is versus practising moderation in all we do. Non muslims "love" the "liberal" muslims and maybe "moderate " muslims too. My dear, if you are a muslim and non muslims describe you as "liberal" and prefer you, pause and reassess. Are you practising Islam OR just claiming to? to be continued |
@nimshi Since I did not address it the first time, which/what smears are you refering to? I have not implied that people who do not declare their religion are afraid, what concerns me about your posts is that instead of making meaningful contributions to what any one posts as a muslim, you try to interprete it in a way that is contrary to the intended message. This is how it appears to many readers, what your intention is, is what I ask. Again, on not imitating women, I say it refers to copying feminine traits and has nothing to do with acts of piety that are gender neutral. Why do you insist on a different "unspoken, yet well understood, thought"? Nimshi:With hope that you understood me before you posted, I have not advocated not obtaining "western education". I have only cautioned against getting yourself brainwashed. And tell me, what is "news" to Allah, Oh nimshi. Please, continue to engage xtians and Buddhists etc, the question is, what value do you add in your engagement? to your life? to theirs? Or is it just an exercise to show who's smarter? |
@Nimshi You are not very different from Davidylan. The fact is you have not at any point declared that you are a muslim. If you say what you are, your posts can be viewed from that angle. Not just for my benefit, but for every viewer's. See, I am a muslim, so I am biased. If something is stated in the Quran, I will never post against it, even if I do not understand it yet. So I am not afraid for anyone to know that I am a muslim and they can read my posts with that at the back of their minds. You are also very insultive, from the very first post that I saw from you responding to someone on the Islamic boards, if one disagrees with you, you regard the person's thinking as quite inferior to yours. Nimshi:Well oh smart and mighty nimshi, contrary to your thought, I think very well before posting. Nimshi:No point in the post presented women as second class citizens, how did "do not imitate women" suddenly transform women to 2nd class citizens? When it is said that "women should not imitate men, does it make men 2nd class citizens too?" Please do not try to introduce things that are unIslamic into Islam, Not that you'll be the first, just that there is no gain in it. Nimshi:My prayer is to Allah the Lord of the worlds. Gain western education BUT save your brain from all the suds and cleansing agents. There is nothing happening in the world today that is news to Allah. Oh Allah, I seek refuge against knowledge that is of noo benefit to me, AMIN |
@reindeer Nimshi is your voice of reason, heh? @nimshi I've asked before what exactly you aim for on these Islamic threads. Some non muslims keepp refering to you as a muslim. I am yet to find ONE post where you said. "I am a MUSLIM" Yes, I see you have posted the definition of imitate, In this case of describing what a true muslim man should be/not be, it means copying feminine xtics. Islam is simple, but you are free to twist it whichever way you like. You would not be the first. Ask for the tafsir of "men imitating women" and see if acts of piety are included in what you should not copy. But, I'm sure you know the answer already. Again, Oh Allah, I seek refuge against knowledge which is of no benefit to me, AMIN |
I went to Christian schools too and I need not list the things that transpired there. I believe it is a risk that is really not worth it if you have the choice to send your child to an Islamic school. Not only are you promoting Islam, you are helping Islamic business. How many people have turned away from Islam because they do not see the relationship between it and western education? Countless. Overall, we parents have the duty to make the good choices within our limits and leave the rest to Allah. |
"should not imitate women. The simple word imitate is used here, NOT "emulate". Mimicking such as voice, hairdo,dressing,etc, as opposed to emulating piety in a woman Oh Allah, I seek refuge against knowledge which is of no benefit to me. Amin |
@mybad ayinba1 is married I wonder what I said that made u think otherwise but definitely not an expert on marital affairs. ![]() @babs Thanks for your post |
@zayhal This is how it should be but most of our brothers and sisters today choose the dating route and when the problems arise, they wonder why. May Allah guide us aright, amin |
ok! |
@mybad Are u a true muslim man? And how old are you? I have a few muslim sisters; I promise you nothing more than you would be doing what is pleasing to Allah if you choose a mate from among the ummah, you have to know that none is perfect. And what are the major hindrances to our brothers and sisters getting married? |
So you spend lots of naira/dollars/pounds etc to put your daughter through a sound western education. She graduates from law school, medical school, or whatever profession she has chosen. And everyone's happy! She comes home the following week dressed up in hijab; head covering, modest gown, no make up etc, Fathers; what says you? what thinks you? Do you rejoice in Allah and pray Allah makes her path easy OR do you fume inwardly/outwardly and worry how she's gonna get any job at all, husband, another story? If we failed at first to groom them and prepare them, and they now choose to groom themselves the right way, what kind of support are we giving to our children? |
@queen do you think it's ok to talk about olabowale's wife like this? @david you tolerate the above?? no, I'm not threatening the karma babe, just reminding her of her name and how true what goes around comes around! but do you think all these posts about ola's wife are just? |
@olabowale Leave karma alone. Her name is sure bound to get her! She's small |
@KARMAMOD last post to you, you don't get any of my messages. but then abiiko, akoogba, ode ni won ti nkogbon wale, you, calling olabowale names?!! Reach where he's reached first, then you have earned the right to talk. as for me being older than you, not sure, but david said I'm older than him, and I accept that. |
Na so so English we speak so tay, the ruling class in Nigeria remains the way they are. The key is communication, my dear. And no, I retired from picking at anyone's (including yours) grammatical errors back in high school! |

I no be ya mate boy! ![]() |
@DAVID later, you have become quite boring! |
@Karmamod And why would Mukina know why Ayinba1 served veal at her celebration? God, some of you guys make me cringe! |
@KARMAMOD Production of and eating veal Friday, 12 January 2007Sheikh Muhammad al-Manî`î, Question: If we know that veal is produced by exceptionally cruel means, is it wrong to eat it? It seems inconsistent that Islam, which affords animals so many rights, could sanction this. In some countries, young calves are kept in what are called veal crates, which are tiny stalls which do not allow the calf to turn around, lie down, or even extend its limbs. The calves suffer physically and mentally. They get leg and joint disorders since they cannot use their muscles. Their bones break, and they get sores from where their bodies rub against the edge of the crate. They develop neurotic behaviour including: head tossing and head shaking. They start chewing the air through distraction. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Allah has decreed proficiency in everything. If you kill, then kill or slaughter something, then do so in a good manner. He should sharpen his blade and make it easy for the animal.” [Sahîh Muslim] Muslims are categorically prohibited from abusing animals. The Prophet (peace be upon him) informs us of how a woman earned Allah’s wrath for her mistreatment of a cat. She entered the Hellfire on account of a cat that she imprisoned, neither feeding it nor letting it hunt for food. [Sahîh al-Bukhârî] Islamic Law requires from us to be good and kind in our treatment of everything. This is especially true for those mute animals who are unable to protest or defend themselves against abuse. Even when it comes to our lawfully slaughtering an animal for food, Islam takes the animal’s interests into consideration. We must make sure the blade is sharp, so as not to prolong the pain of slaughter by using a dull knife. We are not supposed to allow the animal to see the blade beforehand. How much worse is it for one who raises a newborn calf in a state of abuse and misery, so that it suffers from the ailments and trauma described in your question? If the animal dies on account of such mistreatment, it is possible that the ones responsible for the calf will be punished in Hell on account of it, just like the lady who abused the cat was punished. As for eating the veal itself, this is permissible as long as it does not cause any harm to the health of those who eat it. The meat of the calf is lawful, provided it is properly slaughtered. If eating the meat poses a health risk, then it will be unlawful to do so, since the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “There shall be neither harm nor the causing of harm.” [Sunan Ibn Mâjah, Mustadrak al-Hâkim, and others] And Allah knows best. Source: Islamtoday.com By their words, you shall know them. Another lost one! You seem to know a lot about Islam. Pls post your testimony too. shio! hisses |
@david You ask who Allah is, I tell you using His own Words, you bring another palaver! Well, it's your life, but of course, what do I expexct when to you, 1+1+1= 1 Please start a new thread, we are going off topic |
@David Allah is The Creator of the Heavens and The Earth. Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): "He is Allah, (the) One. Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him. (Quran 112 - Surat Al-Ikhlas or At-Tauhid) Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists. Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth. Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter. And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. (Quran 2:255) Allah is He Who raised the heavens without any pillars that you can see. Then, He Istawa (rose above) the Throne (really in a manner that suits His Majesty). He has subjected the sun and the moon (to continue going round)! Each running (its course) for a term appointed. He regulates all affairs, explaining the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, that you may believe with certainty in the meeting with your Lord. And it is He Who spread out the earth, and placed therein firm mountains and rivers and of every kind of fruits He made Zawjain Ithnain (two in pairs - may mean two kinds or it may mean: of two sorts, e.g. black and white, sweet and sour, small and big, etc.) He brings the night as a cover over the day. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.) for people who reflect. And in the earth are neighbouring tracts, and gardens of vines, and green crops (fields etc.), and date-palms, growing out two or three from a single stem root, or otherwise (one stem root for every palm ), watered with the same water, yet some of them We make more excellent than others to eat. Verily, in these things, there are Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs) for the people who understand. (Quran 13:2-4) |
@oLAADEGBU You are sick! |
@DAVID So jesus created you, we don hear! but we know that Allah created ALL! You call me "old", Alhamdulillah, Pray that you live to be my age; at least ![]() |
@ola Sometimes, I'm amazed at the things that David posts! It almost seems like there are 2 people in there; one very intelligent, the other quite deluded. |
@david you tell me! |
