@poster your decison to consider (seriously) marrying a non muslim is more related to your level of deen, if i may put it that way. What is your definition of a succesful marriage? A good respectful loving wife wonderful smart children, a stable home? Is there muslim or Islamic in your definition? If yes, then make the foundation so and that starts with you. There are homes that have one muslim parent and one christian parent with christian children and they all seem happy, and vice versa. There are homes that started out as 2 muslim parents, one became non muslim, children followed or not; so really, the answer is primarily going to be defined by what you cinsider a successful marriage. I wish you well. |
@davidylan David is either unwilling to or incapable of thinking. I am not sorry for you at all because you'be had countless opportunities to know that Allah is the Lord and Creator of heavens and the earth (pls read Qursiyu-shebi you sabi Quran), yet you persist in your kaffir ways. Allah is watching, don't for one second think otherwise, and He is swift and just in punishment. He is also The Most Merciful and the choice is pretty much yours to make. You sympathised? with Darfur but rejoice at the destruction of Palestinians, what sick logic is that? probably, you forget or do not realise that a lot of the victims of Darfur are muslims; oh no! it's not that, you spoke against Darfur because the perpetuators were muslims too, now that makes some sense. tell us about your nightmares where you are being chased through the streets by the Quran; or by muslims. no amount of "blood of jesus" will eliminate those. ![]() |
Salam brother, Thank you for your response. We as muslims have a lot to do. I read your entire response and understand it. First, the question" where are the muslims?" need to be answered. Dawah is where Prophet Mohammed (SAW) started from so we need to go back to the basics. When we have gained knowledge and understanding, we will be able to establish an Islamic nation as is pleasing to Allah. Right now, I see no role models so we have work. And thank you for ignoring the majority of david and his gang. If you start reciting a surah now, they will pee in their pants even while "speaking in tongues" So scared they are even though they have all these worldly things |
@Frizy I don't know if the original post is your creation but I do pick an issue with the word "slave" in describing Obama. It smacks of a racist tone so I am thinking it originated from one our Arab brothers. Are muslims going to be a minority sometimes? Yes! So your proposal that we should not vote at all is something I'd like you to explain Islamically. I want us to be very cautious with the way we analyse things. It is completely shameful and appalling that obama has remained pretty much "mum" concerning Palestine (astaghfirulah if he did)but then he never said he was a muslim nor promised that he would fight Israel over Palestine. Yeah though, religion and politics are closely intertwined, we need to still recognise political moves when we see them. so Frizy, before I crucify obama, tell me what has the Saudi government/leadership done aout the Palestinian situation, or even about the sudan embarassment? and while they share the same bed with the US leaderhip. I ask these questions with the hope to get an insight from you as to what the Prophet of Allah(SAW) would do. I have been where you are right now and I have, alhamduliillah, participated in islamic political discussions in nigeria,(not much in the US). May Allah continue to expand our horizons and increase our Iman (Amin) And tell me, why are the "muslim nations" unable? or unwilling? to aid the weaker Islamic societies? surely, Allah has given us all the tools. we must be doing something(s) wrong. tonite, I watched nbc news and the palestinian news that heaed the broadcast means things are way worse in palestine than being reported and the news was bad enough. Let us not forget to pray for our muslim brothers and sisters, and let us try to do what Allah has prescribed, for then will we be truly victorious |
@Frizy, What do you propose that we do? In a society where muslims are being targeted with Privacy Act, unauthorised wiretaps etc, one candidate says "I will continue with this practice", the other said " I will put an end to this". Is the solution really for us to remain aloof from making an impact in what will affect our lives(religion) in a society we dwell in? My question is what exactly do you propose? McCain is not smart enough about Middle East affairs and he would have committed a blunder if he had wanted to make any statement about Palestine/Israeli conflict. Are you even bothered at all that he wanted to "bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" |
Salam brother Babs, my visits here are really far and in between now but I mostly read and i'm learning a lot from your posts ass well as Jarus' especially response to earthmama's questions. She might nit know it but she is helping a number of us muslims to learnmore about our deen |
salam my dear brothers, Obama was the lesser of the two evils. McCain would have sent troops into Palestine by now to aid their Issraeli allies. Sadly, America is Israel's prostitute, even Obama will find it hard to change that. |
I agree with Babs, you know even some followers of Jesus do not celebrate this Dec 25th once they understand the pagan origins of the date. |
@arramyjay It' not that easy for some people to think. I mean read some of the guy's (bastage) posts! @Bastage What the Quran says matters a great deal to muslims |

Everyone is screaming blood, blood, kill, kill,, I fear for the future of Nigeria |
Shame! blood! blood everywhere! Even the "educated" nlders are bloodthirsty! Blame it on any and everything! Everyone wants blood are there no sane people on this forums anymore? |
@Redchic It's an advice. if you fall into a trap, wouldn't you want to protect your sister from doing the same? ![]() |
@dominique Actually, she was not an Alhaja nor was she a muslim. She told stories of how she joined the yearly hajj pilgrims (for business) and how she would pretend to do ablution and lie that she prayed. She did pretty good in terms of amassing wealth. On a given issue, some people were sent to appeal to her, she said "even if my mother comes from the grave to beg me, I will not budge" Please what kind of human says this? Another one witnessed by me. A couple (her tenants) came to plea with her for whatever, and I heard her say " awa, a ki n forgive, ever" (meaning, we never forgive people, ever) The above are not what she did to me, that is one heck of a long story. Sometimes, you got the impression with her that she thought she would never die. @Babs i hear you and I know that saying too but I only pray for Allah's protection and victory. why should I question Allah if He decides that death is the next thing for a person. I mean people are actually breathing better and "congratulating ' me and who knows how many other people on this news. I am not throwing a party but I am thankful for my life. |
long story my dear but suffice to say, she was a woman feared by many and I'm not sure she believed in Allah/God. Dealt in a lot of fetish stuff. etc,, etc,, again long story |
ow11:Good point ow11:This is really surprising but are you really sure about the statement? ow11:Now where is the humanity in that? |
Muslims give thanks at least 5x daily during salat. Everyday is a day for giving thanks to Allah. ![]() |
@reindeer Your born againism don diminish so fast. I knew once the opium wore off, your true colors will show again. Anyways, keep coming to our board, you will find the truth and it will surely set you free. @blisswhat yours is the most unfair/partial/untruthful assesment that I have read on NL is a while. |
Sister, I pray that you find a true muslim guy that will treat you better than the other guy. Do not have sex with the Xtian (or the muslim for that matter), you will find out at the end that it's not worth it simply because it is a sin. Pray to Allah for strenght. If you are true and sincere, Allah will send you your soul mate. Please, safeguard your Islam, the xtian guy is not right for you. I wish you well |
Assalam alaikum, Other than the death of Sani Abacha, I have never had this much mixed feelings about someone's death. She was a pharaohess not only to me, but to her neighbours. I prayed that Allah should give me victory over her, never specifically asking for her death, but you see; she died. Now, I am definitely not sad, but I cannot help feeling guilty about not throwing a party or something close maybe thankful prayer gathering. I feel that I am not showing enough gratitude to Allah. You can judge me but you cannot understand if you've never had a modern day pharaoh (ess) in your life. She refused to let my people go, and I think her offsprings are planning to continue this way but how long d'you think they can do that for? |
Gay rights do not equal civil rights. You choose your sexuality. Society permits it, you show it. Society frowns at it, you are in the closet. This cannot be equated to being black, asian or hispanic and I think blacks who think otherwise need to be asked where they place a black gay person? I don't see straight people going around fighting for "straight" rights, or "i'm being discriminated at because I'm straight" yet it happens, |
nuzo:. Refering to the "not so honorable" things that Ribadu did. I only knew a lot of the good stuff, I mean I've heard bits here and there but trying to elevate him when the topic is about someone else will bring out more negatives about Ribadu. |
@nuzo then you should not have said Ribadu is better/(or even comparable ) to Idiagbon. See how you opened a can of worms now? Some of these BAAD things he did, I was not even aware of! |
@bawomolo Unfortunately, for the Orkar group, as more details emerged, a lot of people were actually glad it failed. But thanks for explaining. |
Tell me of one instance in Nigeria where a coup met with resistance. I'm trying to follow your point. It's always either a failed or succesful coup. I'm assuming that you mean resistance from the populace. |
He was a good leader, You Nigerians complained about stern face, you got smiling IBB, the rest is history! Wake up ppl, he was not perfect but I cannot point to any leader (or deputy) that could hold a candle to him. |
donjon:Which religion? |
@pilgrim try to surprise me one of these days. @David you too,, sooooo predictable! ![]() |
@pilgrim even David, (whom we all know ) found sense in Tasma's post. But you still find a bone to pick from it. Girl, chill, you've got issues!@olabowale pls, don't start discussions with this babe here, you know what she's gonna turn it into. Let us not derail the topic. Kunle is asking a question and |
olaadegbu sets us back a million years, he should be banned! ![]() |
