IslamRe: Lessons From Hadith 3 Of The Forty Ḥadīth Of An-nawawih by ayinba1(f): 4:33pm On Mar 26, 2023
Lukgaf:
This week, we will review the third hadith of the forty hadith of An-nawawih. For the past review, see here

Ḥadīth No. 3 states that Islam is built on five pillars: testifying that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the establishment of prayer, giving zakāh, making the pilgrimage to the House, and fasting Ramadhān. These pillars are considered the minimum requirements for Islam, but the religion includes obedience in everything that Allah has ordained. The first pillar, shahādah, or testimony, requires recognition and admission within oneself and bearing witness of the fact before others. Scholars differ on whether the omission of one of the remaining four pillars removes one from the ranks of Muslims. The second pillar, the establishment of prayer, involves faithful performance of the duty correctly to the best of one's ability. Zakāh, the required yearly expenditure from excess wealth, has been mentioned in conjunction with ṣalāh in the Qur’ān. Making the pilgrimage to the House and fasting during Ramadhān are also pillars of Islam.

Lessons from Hadith No. 3:

Islam is built on five pillars: testifying that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, the establishment of prayer, giving zakat, making the pilgrimage to the House, and fasting Ramadan.

These pillars are the basis of Islam, but not the entirety of it. Every Muslim will be judged based on their efforts to obey every order and avoid every prohibition in the religion.

The first pillar is shahada, which requires truthful and sincere recognition and admission within oneself that there is no deity but Allah and that Muhammad is His messenger. It is the first building block of Islam.

The second pillar is the establishment of prayer, which involves the faithful performance of the duty correctly to the best of one's ability with presence of mind and humble awareness of one's position before their Creator without neglect or postponement of the obligatory prayers.

Scholars differ over whether the omission of one of the remaining three pillars removes one from the ranks of Muslims, but outright denial of an Islamic obligation or a prohibition given by Allah in the Qur’an amounts to disbelief.

Wow! Why do you speak of what you know nothing about? Did you find out about Islam or you just repeated something you were told? Are you able to repeat this when you stand before God on the day of judgement? I assume that you believe that there is a day of judgement. What you have said about Islam is incorrect, do yourself some good by finding out what the truth is as it will set you free. And fyi Allah is God’s name.

This is highly welcomed.

The General overseer of that church has been acting politically correct since 2015.

In the buildup to the 2023 General elections, the church leaders including the G.O became a fencist.
Sitting on the fence while politics of divisiveness and exclusion was being done.

All through the 8 years of Buhari's misrule, he never came out to condemn killings of Christians across the country.

Anyone from South south or southeast that still attend that church is a fool.
And during the 8 years of Buhari rule, no Muslim was killed in the north. Unreal what some of you post here.

Seun, bar that insensitive Advert, this forum is a shadow of itself. Ethnic and tribal bigots roam free without restriction. Hate filled contents are pushed to the front page consistently! I was on a thread on Twitter some days ago, someone advised a tribal bigot to take his hatred and bigotry to places like Nairaland. It's a shame! You've legit failed to keep a leash on this forum.

During the genocide in Rwanda, some radio stations kept adding fuel to the fire by inciting the populace and providing platforms for hate speeches to rule the day.

You have successfully created a platform that encourages hate speech and tribal bigotry. You're partially complicit in the ethnic war raging currently.

I dare say you should either hire some moderators solely focused on deleting hate filled posts or just step down entirely.
What if the moderators he has now have an agenda, or he himself? It’s sickening the things that make it to the front page but this apology seems specific to an advertisement as opposed to posts.

The Northerners are not part of this conflict, yet you name them and dehumanize them! Don’t you see that you need to look inwards? I have not seen a single post here claiming to be Fulani and calling you or your tribe derogatory names, yet you just do this so easily.

You are joking, aren't you?

MC Oluomo maybe a tout but the curious silence of the so-called good Yorubas looks like a tacit approval of the activities of the social miscreants...

You might not believe it but most Nigerians now see all Yorubas as the same whether Christian or Muslim...
Your concerted efforts to divide and rule failed woefully! There is an agenda that sought to bring a toxic form of Christianity to Lagos. On this same NL, Northerners were dehumanized, then Yoruba Muslims, now all Yorubas. The moment Yorubas chose to vote Sanwo Olu in Lagos, all Yorubas transformed into “dirty, smelly touts and urchins” .

Your posts do not help Igbo people, better to just stop posting if you have nothing positive to say.

Nigerian immigrants who live abroad achieve the highest levels of success politically or economically. You don't fucking have any of their bloodline, but as a citizen, you still get to enjoy sane priorities. However, in Nigeria, the political elites have stoked the fires of ethno-religious bigotry for their own self-serving interests. And some credulous individuals have engaged in ethnic profiling. Today it is the Igbos; tomorrow it can be Edo or the Itsekiris The Yorubas intend to enslave other southern clans that are minorities, just like what the Fulanis are doing to the Hausas. And to know that they did the same thing to Goodluck Jonathan. NOW THE BIG QUESTION IS WHO’S NEXT
The attitude of some groups woke the Yorubas up. And I am sure that it woke some other groups up to be more aware and sensitive to the greedy nature of certain groups. It may be a good thing as it would reduce the chances of another pogrom occurring. Each groups should learn to live with and respect one another.

Ambode would have come 2nd or 3rd place. He was governor and Lagos declined in terms of sanitation. It was awful. Most pictures I saw of him were at clubs. People will vote him but not over SanwoOlu. Competence, people, still matters.

This is how it ought to be, take the battle to Igbo land and take over Igbo lands as you claim that they want to take over Lagos and Yoruba land, take over Igbo lands so they can withdraw cheesy
Why so eager to let go of Anambra. People will start thinking you are not proud of the state and don’t want to stay there.

The true criminals are those who resist separatist IPOB, because a group asking for a new country from an existing country is not committing a criminal offence. It can be criminalised only in a country with parasites as leaders. In Nigeria, the ruling parasites criminalise IPOB separatists because they depend on the proceeds from crude oil and gas deposits in the east of the Niger river and Delta/Edo states.

It's as stupid to tag Oduduwa Republic agitators as criminals or in a terrorist organisation.
Tell me something, Delta and Edo are part of Biafra?

PS: What is the source of this information. I checked GRV's Twitter and website and can't find anything about his first 100 days. Perhaps this is propaganda by APC or PDP and he didn't actually say this?

Unverifiable News. Mods do something!
I understand that Chinedu GRV is on NL and that he is a friend of Seun so this is an advert for Chinedu GRV to attract voters. I am quite impressed that we have NL members who understand governance and leadership and see this is a nothingburger plan, I do not want to call it childish but maybe emotional voters will believe this.

Nobody is complaining because she has not been disrespectful to the locals. This is quite easy. The GRV guy may be Yoruba but he is against the interest of Yoruba and has shown it. He participated in ENDSARS which resulted in civic disorder and a huge financial loss to the government and you don’t see a problem with this? Are these kids or just clueless folks here?

No one needs the South East in their region. If all the indigenes takeover their markets with State govt support.Easterners will have no place to stay but South East.

The State Govt need to empower the indigenes to go back to the markets again.Nyanmirins market dominations must end.As Nyanmirins keep dominating your markets, you people are left in penury."He who sells goods and services get to take from the people and becones richer while the purchaser becomes poorer everytime they buy."

Easterners bring unemployment to the indigenes by chasing your mothers and fathers out of the market place through anti-competition mechanisms.
A company called OLMAT moves into the area and every mom and pop business gets destroyed.

You want to know how and why?

OLMAT sells everything cheaper, unrealistically cheaper. The citizens flood there to buy.

OLMAT also sells everything and begins to delve into services and they do it cheaper also, citizens continue to patronize OLMAT.

OLMAT also brings jobs to the area.

Small businesses are unable to compete, they fold up and apply for jobs at OLMAT.

OLMAT, having achieved its goal, begins to raise prices. The citizens remember the neighborhood candy shop, they want to buy from there because pricing was more reasonable but the store is gone and the owner is a gateman at OLMAT.

OLMAT has done nothing wrong legally in a capitalist economy, but they are morally bankrupt.

Picture OLMAT as a group or a company and tell me if OLMAT is good for your society.

Also talked about him being here for just two years or so and he's bought a condo home, build many hostels for student in Nigeria and on his way to complete a #250Million hotel in Nigeria also.

I been here in this abroad and I can't even boast of $10k USD. It's well Sha. I just hope they're not lying with all these things they're saying.
If you are abroad, you should know better and have a more robust idea of how money works. Crunch the numbers and tell yourself how being in “abroad” for 2 years translates to such amounts.

You are definitely not Yoruba but just fortunate to have moved closely with Yoruba and that's why you don't and cannot understand Yoruba. I can tell you categorically that no Yoruba envy igbo for anything because we are wired differently from igbo and money at all cost is not part of our makeup, how dare you demean our way of life which has many advantage and gives room for an healthy robust human development, every Yoruba is indifferent towards igbo and amused at times at their get money at all cost attitude, you said we take religion to ridiculous level, and yet we have made the kind of connection to God that has made every tribe and nationality to flock to our places of worship for solution all over the world.
You said we do owanbe, do you know this is one of the secret of wealth?, It is one of the reasons that Yorubas get wealthy without as much efforts as the igbos because it is giving at a grand scale coupled with joy which draw spiritual virtue for wealth.
This grinding poverty and destitution may be on your side but definitely not a Yoruba thing, all those old things you recount being sold and expiring as they are being discarded new ones are taking their place, Yorubas still lead in tech in this nation and an example of it is this nairaland where you are busy writing lies, do you know our way of life is the reason why we have best musicians because it allows for creativity, our moral standard and traditions make you to become a well rounded human being with good self esteem because it has been imbibed in you at home that you are very important more than money or any material thing. You likened the dregs of the society which exist everywhere all over the world to all Yoruba, the area boys and criminals which abound everywhere all over the world maybe because you live among them and they are the only Yorubas you know do you think all Yorubas are like that.

Igbos money which you are harping on is mostly blood money, at least 80% blood money and I have enough experience to believe that, the ones that fear God will hardly be so flamboyant leaving a normal life.

Imagine you saying we envy igbo and we should spy on them and copy them, that's balderdash, you think everyone must be a trader to succeed, the captain of industries, manufacturers and creatives abound in Yoruba land inside office building where they don't make noise like the igbos, all those towns you cited have many of their sons and daughters abroad doing great in good jobs and many of them are even great merchants like that abound in Cotonou, Ivory coast etc, because we don't rush into wealth but takes our time and we don't loud it when it comes doesn't mean we are not wealthy, I know if there is any Yoruba envying igbo anywhere the person must be a child, no mature Yoruba person will ever envy them but thank God in our hearts that we are Yoruba and that's why they are imbibing all our culture, an igbo woman married to a Yoruba man told me she vowed when she was young she would marry a Yoruba man, I was surprised because I was like what's so special but the more you know igbo the more you thank God for who you are.
Wow! Omoluabi- I love this!
