Seriously I do not want to get involved in the GEJ/PMB debate but there's no denying the fact that GEJ was more motivating for our sportsmen/woman than PMB. Even Mariam Usman herself confirmed this, for according to her 2012 was better, she had better training in 2012 and her result was better.

GEJ motivated them well and they won nothing or you want to remind us again what the entire Nigerian contingent won at the 2012 Olympics? The last medal this country won in the Olympics was in 2008. Agreed preparations were terrible now, but it is not like she would have won anything anyway.

You just gotta laugh at some ridiculous reasoning trying to exonerate GEJ at our present predicament as a country. A recent Vanguard report showed that out of the N95.1Trillion the country have earned since independence from oil exploration, N51 Trillion was earned doing GEJ's era only. I thought they said to whom much is giving much is expected. Do we really think GEJ took us to the promise land with the resources he had at his disposal? Can we say with certainty that our lives would be a lot better than it is now if GEJ had remain in office. Any kind of comparison between Buhari and GEJ's era is an extreme show of foolishness. Every leader we have had since independence should be assessed independently based on what they did for the country. If you do that you will find out we have had terrible leaders
throughout. We should stop playing politics with the problems of this country if we want the problems solved. Unless you are playing politics you wont be saying GEJ time was better than Buhari. They are both terrible leaders from the perspective of a serious-minded Nigerian, not the APC or PDP inclined Nigerian.

I stay in Ajegunle and I've neva heard of any street named Molade in Ajegunle.

What part of Ajegunle do you stay and how well do you know your way around Ajegunle? Molade Street used to be Swamp Street. That name 'Swamp' suggests a lot about the former state of the road. It used to be a terrible place before the rehabilitation, more like a dumpsite. Molade Street is very close to Wilmer Bus Stop along Kirikiri Road. So you can do your research.

IN This Vaux Pop carried out at Molade (Swamp) Street by Wunmi Akolade and Nuru Adediran, the joyful residents commended Bam Darley Nigeria Limited the contracting company that handled the project.

However, from their comments it was pretty obvious that they really don’t know how the project came about. We informed them that Molade Street is one of the 114 road projects in Governor Ambode’s dream for a new Lagos.

However, the fund emanated from the local government. Ambode have the credit of encouraging compulsory saving by the local governments, it was such saving that made block fund available. Such encouraged the making of the mega roads.

As at this day, there are 114 roads like Molade Street in Lagos State.

Molade Small London – IGNATIUS

I have been living here for several years. The road was so bad and people laughed at us for staying on this Molade Street. But now see how beautiful our road is, people are very happy about it.

If you come to this place at night, it is a beautiful spectacle. You will think you are in a small London, because, the Street lights are working. Although, light is on most Lagos Streets, so what we want now is water. I wish we have water too here.

Now that the road is good, the PSP for refuse collection should now come here to do what they ought to do.

This are minor things the common man expects from the government, so if we see such we will keep praying for the government.



The Press Also Tried – DAVID

The condition of Molade Street was too bad before this renovation, we thanked God for it. And you, the press have done a marvelous job. Today, we walk freely on Molade Street without any flood; it is really okay here now.

My next expectation from the government is to help some jobless youths. As at now some compounds on the street need renovation to compliment the beauty of the road.



Molade Street, a Dream Come True – JOHN OWUNAFA

I was born on this Molade Street, so I can tell you the history of this street. What I see now as new Molade is a dream I never thought will come true.

Formerly, when you talk of Swamp Street now Molade Street, people will laugh because the street was so bad, so dirty and with a rainfall you can’t pass through it. People’s compounds get flooded. I can’t believe I am alive to see what I am seeing today. I thank God for making the government to remember our street.

But they need to do more jobs in the local government area. Our present expectation from the state government is a transformer, because as we speak we are on a one-day on and one-day off electricity supply. Presently, about four streets share the same transformer which is located at Ohikere Junction. We also seriously need water.



Residents Should Maintain It – MRS. HELEN ONUMA

The condition of our street was worst that bikes, buses don’t come to our street, but now you can see bikes and traders operating freely. You have to agree with me that the difference is very clear. The government did great work here; I just prayed that those staying here will maintain the road so that it will be okay for everybody using it.

My expectation from the government is constant electricity. They have done the road, it is beautiful. I pray that God will make them continue the good work.

They Did Drainage since 2009 – MR. ADEOTI

We are grateful to God that the drainage they did since 2009 was eventually complimented with a standard road in 2016. We glorifY God that Gov. Ambode remembered our road.

What we expect now is not much; at least we now have a good road with street lights. The present electricity transformer is not adequate for four streets, they should provide us one to compliment our small London.



One Transformer for Four Streets – OLUSEGUN

He spoke in Yoruba and explained that the road was not fine in the past, but is now a beautiful place. He commended the Bam Darley Company for doing a good job. Flood was disturbing us, if we had the photo you would have understood what we suffered. The contractor tried for us, the generator powering the street lightshas been very effective.

We are suffering from lack of electricity. Molade, Ben Oyeka, Ohikere and John Okorie Streets are making use of one transformer. This is not ideal.



Everybody is Happy – BROTHER NNAMDI

I am a new tenant on this street but what I heard was the street used to be very bad. But it is now a good thing that the local government intervened. They did a lot. This place is now like London. Now Molade Street can be counted among the mega streets in Lagos State. Everybody is happy, if the local government continues with such good works, if nobody rewards them, God will reward them since everybody is happy. I can say I am one of the luckiest person to meet this fine development, because even at nights, I don’t need to worry if I have a generator or not. See the light shining on my shop, people come to buy some things here because there is light here.

So you can see that Lagos is working.



We Are Grateful to Them – IYA MARIAM

Iya Mariam who spoke in Yoruba said the area was too rough, flood everywhere once it rains. The government made us happy with the completed rehabilitation of our street. We are grateful to them.

What we now need is frequent electricity.



I Believed it is Work in Progress – LIZZY

Before now the situation of the road was so bad, especially during the rainy season. I believed it is work in progress, I also believed it will be fine, because the street is getting better already. We now have a good road with street lights.



We Will Connect the Drainages – AGBOLATIDE

I am a part of the company handling the project. The road was in a very bad shape but we came in and converted it into a mega road. As you pass through, you surely will find that the road is interlocked, the drainage covered, if you come here at nights, the place is glittering.

What is left to be done now is to connect the drainages.

AJEGUNLE; Administrative headquarters of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State, is no doubt a microcosm of Nigeria, since almost all tribes that make up the Nigerian nation are represented therein.



The Ajeromi Axis of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area has Nine recognized Communities. And each of the community has class 2 recognized Chief as Baale that is on the monthly payroll of the Local Government.



For this discourse we will have to explain that the Ajeromi axis stands on two legs; Ajegunle and Araromi, thus the name; AJEROMI. In the Ajegunle segment that belongs to the Ojora family, (except Awodi-ora) there are the following communities; Ajegunle; Onibaba; Alayabiagba; Aiyetoro; and Awodi-ora Alayabiagba is the oldest of the aforementioned communities, because, other communities were said to have came into being through Alayabiagba.



In the last interview of this media held with the immediate past Chief OJORA of Lagos, High Chief Lawal Akapo (Blessed Memory) he told this media that the first tenants they had in Ajegunle were from the Urhobo tribe, that was between 1933 and 1934.

How he puts it; “Urhobos were those that first built houses in Ajegunle what affected them was their use of Bamboos for their buildings, thus, there were frequent fire outbreaks. And people were afraid to reside with them”.

According to him, the name Ajegunle was given to the community by late Pa Adeyemo a man from Ogbomosho in present day Osun State.



Chief Alapo, then said; “In the begining Apapa Elemu was where people resided, but the coming of Naval base and the Industrialization of the area compelled them to move to Alayabiagba, Pa Adeyemo was one of those that migrated from Apapa Elemu to Alayabiagba. As a technician, Pa Adeyemo always travelled to Gambia, and on return from one of his trips, the Federal Government Press have been established in part of Alayabiagba, ironically Pa Adeyemo’s farmland was affected. Thus, the then Ojora asked him to relocate to a spot presently known as Baale Adeyemo street.

And he started farming on the spot, at a place whenever passersby asked him why he choose middle of the bush for farming? He used to tell them; “Ibi ti Aje mi gunle si re” (meaning, this is where my wealth stands) today, the trending city with about 18 Streets, namely; Orodu, Nosamu, Baale, Goriola, Abukuru, Sidi, Tesi, Rufai, Olowojheunjeje, Boundary road, Cemetry, Ojora, Iyalode, Achakpo, Uzor, Rasaki and Mission, has popularly overtaken other communities.



In the view of the Baale of Ajegunle who have been on the throne for over 30 years, Chief Sheu Salami Gbegbeleku, everywhere is Ajegunle to visitors and strangers.

His words; “The Ajegunle Community has become so popular that from the Coca-Cola bridge everywhere is Ajegunle, everywhere is Ajegunle to them. But I know my boundry. I share boundry with the Oluwas at Ayeke bridge.



I share boundary with Onibaba at Achapo. I share boundary with Alayabiagba at Mobil road. I share boundary with Aiyetoro at a spot where according to late Lawal Akapo that caused the removal of Pa Adeyemo as Baale of Ajegunle.

Explaining further, Pa Akapo said there was frequent fight between Pa Adeyemo and Pa Fakunle, over boundary line between Ajegunle and the Fakunles, so the then Ojora of Lagos planted a tree at a spot and announced it as boundary between Ajegunle and Fakunles; Pa Fakunle agreed, and said; “Aiye wa ti toro”. But, Pa Adeyemo disagreed, that provoked the then Ojora and he removed Adeyemo, and appointed Pa Omosebi, a man from Igbira in present day Kogi State, as Baale of Ajegunle. He reigned and died as Baale, and was buried in Ajegunle, I also share Boundary with Layeni Community at Okoya.



It is worthy to explain that the rascality of yesteryears attracted what may their be called notoriousity to Ajegunle, and was expected to drag the community down, was however used to leap into stardom.

It is also an accepted fact that against all odds, and their belief that Ajegunle people are “Kunors Kunors” the community smashed the music world with stars like Daddy Showkey, Daddy fresh, Baba Fryo, etc.



In the Soccer World, he Community produced too many soccer wizards. Samson Siasia, Taribo West, Henry Nwosu, Tarela Okorowanta, etc.



But Alhaji Adekunle, a record seller is of the opinion that our stars would have ruled the world. If Government was friendly to our environment.



His words; “A look at our environment, mosquitoes were produced from our stagnant canals at Okorogbo, Okoya, in short our community is surrounded with canals that are not flowing. Mosquitoes bite us and deposit Malaria parasite in us, which had killed many of our potential stars, since government treat us with contempt and make us objects of scorn”



He further stated that there is hope that the Ambode’s administration will do something for our community because, we see his prompt response to our cry of agony. Malik Joshua a Computer Engineer, said Ajegunle can get more wizkids, if the Ambode Government takes the bull by the horn through educational encouragement. To him, Ajegunle students need sincere encouragement, such as bringing secondary education closer to them



He also said.; “Student from a poverty ridden home may not be encouraged to go to school, because transport fare to schools from Ajegunle and back home in Ajegunle is N100, and those who cant afford it will have to trek many kilometers to either Awodi-ora, Araromi, or Tolu, such, to him, is not encouraging, especially to a youth who don’t even have hope of meeting lunch at home.



The Government needs to assist the common people.



Maryam Essien who claimed to be an educationist wondered why 31 secondary schools were situated inside Tolu School complex.



In her view, such encourages the frequent clashes among students of the various schools.



In the Ajegunle situation, she said; “the community that has about 6 primary schools is ideal to have one or two Secondary Schools for Students, especially for them to access Junior Secondary Education.

Kamal Ayinde Bayewu, a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB), erstwhile Executive Chairman Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government, admitted, when he said; “it’s true that there is no Secondary School in Ajegunle. The pupils in Ajegunle go to Awodi-ora, Ijora, Araromi, Apapa, or Tolu complex to access Secondary Education. This would have been corrected but because of non availability of vacant land in Ajegunle. The best that can be done which we tried was to convert one or two of the present primary 70*41*78 schools to accommodate roi e the Secondary Sc hool. For example, th Local Authority school at Ugbewankwo and the CKS at Orodu Streets can be converted to Secondary School(s) in Ajegunle Community”



Youthful Amodu Shakiru who is the Public Relations Officer of Lagos State Fire Service is of the view that the Akin Ambode’s administration is trending and if the leaders and people of Ajegunle have a sincere need for a Secondary School, they should approach His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode there is the likelihood that we will get a positive response, since he is a community oriented Administrator.

Oba Fatai Aromire, Oyegbemi II, the Ojora of Ijora Kingdom in this chat with Jim Suleman in celebration of “Ojora Day” held on Sunday August 7, 2016 submitted that his (Ojora) family is friendly but hates cheating with passion.



It was that hatred for cheating that influenced him to lead the family into a legal battle royale for the soul of Iganmu land, which the family eventually won.



Pointing out that this time the family is poise to square it up politically with the Oluwa family that had cheated them for so long in the political setting of Ajeromi Ifelodun Local Government Area.



His words; “The Ajeromi Ifelodun Council Secretariat is on OJORAs land, and the Oluwas have been in control. Firstly, when Taju Oluwa represented Ajeromi and became Chairman of the then Ojo Local Government, secondly when Ajeromi Ifelodun Council was created, Rabiu Oluwa became chairman, when then is the turn of the OJORAs?

On August 7, 2016, the celebration of Ojora Day was held, some called it “Ojude Oba” while some called it; “OJORA DAY” which one is right?



Both means same thing. If you call it “OJUDE OBA” if you call it “OJORA DAY”, it is the same thing.



What exactly is Ojora Day?



When we started the celebration some saw it as unserious festival, now they have seen the seriousness in it, so all sons and daughters of Ojora family, home and abroad now join in the celebration.



Ideally how should it be celebrated?



We make it a weeklong festival, commencing with homage to our ancestors, a day slated for Muslims to pray in their mosque; Christians are also allocated a day for prayers.



The 2nd day, family members are to pay homage to the crown head of the family. 3rd day is for indoor games, like; Ayo, Ludo, Draft, etc. the 4th day is for novelty football match. The final day is when family members led by His Royal Majesty, friends and well wishers of the family, all clubs on Ojora land will come together for social celebration.









That was what happened on August 7?



Yes that was what happened on Sunday, August 7



As the only Royal Father we have in Ajeromi Ifelodun Community, what is your take on the political situation?



I think there is much. Reasons is this; we have an agreement with Oluwa family, which I sincerely feel we have to abide with, because we don’t want to create problem among ourselves, actually, the Oluwas, have occupied the Council Chairmanship position in two occasions. Taju Oluwa represented Ajeromi as chairman of the then Ojo Local Government. Prince Rabiu Oluwa spent 6 years as Chairman of Ajeromi Ifelodun Council. Therefore, it is the turn of Ojora family to produce a candidate for the Council Chairmanship.



You have said this to us before, then, Taju Ojora was the Executive Secretary of Ajeromi Ifelodun Council; is that to say you don’t count his tenure?



Taju Ojora was appointed into that position, he was not elected. We also want elective position just like the Oluwas, because, we both own the land called Ajeromi Ifelodun.



In your opinion this is when the Ojoras should be allowed to contest for the seat?



That is the only fair way to achieve Justice, Ojoras should be allowed to use their 3 years for 2 terms.



It is now 4 years, will you still support 2 terms for the Ojoras?



Yes, it is now 4 years. My family will go to any length to defend our right, this is our time, our family will stand against any cheating from any quarters. I seriously tell you that our family will defend our rights to anywhere, we will not accept cheating.



So if they don’t allow your family, that is cheating?



They are cheating our family.



And you are noted for your doggedness?



Yes, when we talk about the land housing the Council Secretariat, it belongs to Ojora family and when you talk of votes we own the votes.



Ajegunle of 1994, and Ajegunle of today, what will you say, security wise?



Lets thank God. One of my Late Baales, Alhaji Rashidi Olatoye Alado did wonderful job in Ajegunle, because peple were in the past afraid to come to Ajegunle, not to talk of staying there. I will say that what brought the peace we enjoy today is because I splited various communities and appointed Baales for each of them. Thus, residents now have Baales closer to their domain. Look at Marine beach as an example of the then frequent communal clashes between Yoruba and Hausa, so when the government seek my advice. I advised that we should install a Baale for the community. And put a committee embracing all tribes to work with the Baale. Since then there have been peace in Marine beach. That was what happened at Ajegunle too, when the Ijaw Yoruba clash occurred we advised government to inaugurate a committee comprising heads of all tribes resident in Ajegunle; that is why there is peace in Ajegunle right now.



Some people are of the opinion that there is, or are sacrifice/s you ought to do in Ajegunle as the Royal Majesty who owns the land. How correct?



I don’t know why they say that. Because, I have Baales there, and they are capable, so it won’t be right for me to be doing their job. My doing such means I am not a good father. I do have dialogue with my Baales, so if they see anything that deserves my attention they let me know and I attend to them.



As His Royal Majesty in Ajeromi Ifelodun, what will you say about the present day Political situation that brings little or nothing to the community?



Ajeromi Ifelodun Politicians are shooting themselves on the leg, because, they lack serious leader.



What, and How do you mean?



Because, they all have different leaders. They ought to have one leader that would be respected and obeyed by all. Too many groups.



What do you think caused all?

I don’t know for them. Perhaps, it is ambition. That is why they don’t have a serious leader. This one will say this is my leader. That one will say this is my leader, that one is not my leader. And this is making them lose many things, they even lose appointments. It is only Kalejaiye who last got appointment as S.A for something rural, since then they have got nothing. If some move forward, others will go through the back to lodge petition against them. They have to come together so that the community gets some amenities from the State Government. The Council cannot do everything for them, they need to have somebody to represent them at the state level.



We should look inward, there is this claim by the Ojoras that the next elected chairman for the council should be from them the Ojoras; does the Ojoras have a capable candidate for the seat?



Of course, we have



Perhaps, you talk of Engr. Taju Ojora who just left as the Executive Secretary of the Council, if that is correct, some people say he is too old for the position of Council Chairman; what is your opinion?



Laugh.. Laugh, I don’t think he is too old for that position, if he is destined to be there, he will get there.



Alternatively, should we say the family has option B?



Leave that for our family. We have our own strategy



Agreed, you have a strategy, why was your family not talking in the past?



Because, we had agreement with Oluwa family that if they finished two terms of their tenure, it automatically becomes the turn of the Ojoras.



That is what happens in Ijora and Apapa, Ijora Oloye produced the past chairman of Council, now it is Apapa turn to produce the next chairman of Council.



And the Ijora Oloye people will not disturb the process?



Of course. The person presently in House of Assembly is from Ijora, so the Council chairman will come from Apapa. No cheating.



I appeal to political leaders of Ajeromi Ifelodun to think twice and do the needful.



As at when Rabiu Oluwa finished his tenure as Council Chairman, was the Ojora family ready to take over from him?



Yes of course. Everybody who ought to know, knew that Oluwa represented Ajeromi and became Chairman of the then Ojo Council. When Ajeromi Ifelodun was created, after Ajijola, Rabiu Oluwa became the chairman, Kamal took over from him, both from Oluwa land, we should not deceive ourselves and allow the Oluwas to overlord us in a Council whose Secretariat is on our (OJORA) land. We all know that political appointment is different from elective position.



Have you discussed this with APC Leaders?



We have sat down, and I told them the arrangement between Oluwas and Ojoras. This time no going back, we won’t take further cheating from the Oluwas.



Somebody said you really discussed it and you were advised to seek Ifelodun Council Chairmanship. How correct?



Yes, they said so but I asked if Ajegunle is not Ojoras land? Oluwas own Araromi, they can go seek for their own Local Government. They should go to Araromi and sort themselves out; and leave Ojora land.



Kabiyesi, why are you furious about this issue?



Because, they are cheating my family. I dislike cheating



That was why you fought for Iganmu land to a judicial conclusion?



Yes, I don’t know who will be the chairman, he may not be a free born of the Ojoras, it is just that I don’t like cheating so the person should come from Ojora land, not Oluwa land.



So, you are not being adamant that he or she must be from your family?



They may not like the faces of the Ojoras, that is their own problem, all I know is that it is the turn of someone from Ojora land. Oluwa land had done enough as provider of the Ajeromi Ifelodun Council Chairman.



But, the truth remains that it is left to our family to produce who we like for the Council Chairmanship.



But, in the past your people were accused of not playing serious part in politics; with that, how can your family get political opportunities?



What people didn’t know was that we respected our agreement, it was the turn of the Oluwas, so we didn’t want to get involved for fear of disturbing the arrangement. We want solidification of the arrangement so that our unborn generations will meet it like that.



We have children who would have contested against Rabiu Oluwa, and Kamal Bayewu. But we settled the issue during the reign of Late S.B. Ajasa Oluwa, Late Oba Okikiola, the then Alahun of Imore we all sat down to put the arrangement in place. So, it is not now that somebody will now say we should go to Ifelodun; if that is what they want, they should go to Araromi and establish their Local Government for the Oluwas.



Thank you very much Sir, what will His Royal Majesty expect from his subjects on the Ojora Day?



They should be peaceful and abide by the rules and regulations of the celebration.



What are the celebration rules and regulations?



We don’t want quarrel and fight.









Not too long a time we heard of security breach at Layinka street, did you step in to resolve it?



I never heard of it. The Area Commander knows me, if there was need for my attention he would have called me.



That is to say only issues above your Baales that get to you?



Yes, the Baales are to handle such issues, that is why they are there. Presently things are moving positively. Look at Aiyetoro, we have 2 Baales, nobody is complaining to me. Fakunle people don’t say Olola come to their area to disturb them; Olola too didn’t come to me to say Fakunle family is disturbing him. I thank God for that achievement.



You didn’t pass any message to your people through us since January. Never too late, what is the message for 2016?



Lets be our brothers’ keeper. Be honest with ourselves. Anything we do we should remember God, and stop cheating.



Is this strictly for Politicians?



No. The message is for all of us.

It happened between 7am and 8am this morning. I happened to witness part of the said episode, and can confirm that the woman in question is indeed the kidnapper as alleged. Here is her modus operandi and some vital information eventually gotten from her.

She disguises as a mad woman, but after she was beaten, she became 'sane' and fear of lynching made her start divulging information. She claimed that they were twenty-seven (27) women in all that came as a group of the syndicate from Benin Republic. Each woman was given 4 or 5 phones to contact their buyers once the target; little children, is acquired. The phone is to be thrown away after transactions to avoid detection. If she uses diabolic means, it could not be ascertained. The kidnapping is for outright sale, not for a ransome

The missing child-count in Okokomaiko and its environs since the past two months is at seven children. At Okokomaiko some days back, another female kidnapper was apprehended after she successfully kidnapped one and was back for a second child before she was noticed. Unfortunately, she could not produce the first child before she was whisked away by the police.

If i so wish i go to school in my boxers self. Every religion has rules which include an acceptable mode of dressing. But every religious rule must be subject to the rule of the state. In this case the constitution says Nigeria is a secular state meaning that when you come to the public domain as a Nigerian, you have to drop all your religious and cultural baggages. Deeper Life has an eternal mode of dressing just like other Christain denominations but when they come to the public they put away whatever dress code in respect to the secularity of the state and the biblical injunction of obedience to constituted authority. Its only Muslims who would never want to compromise. The judge certainly err in his judgement because common sense dictates that while people have rights, you cannot always insist on your right. There are times when in the interest of peace that you have to wave off your right. In this case now everyone is insisting on their right to dress as they wish to school and see the insane and senseless situation we have on our hands. This shit can't happen in Lagos. All the people in Osun State government who sponsored the judgement(because this is definitely a sponsored judgement) should just bow there head in shame. Osun state is better now without a government.
