Bosses, I greet you all!
I have 2 questions regarding how to wire solar panels together.
I have 2 X 200W 12v solar panels that I am using with a PWM charge controller. It is a 12v battery. The battery builder told me to switch to an MPPT CC. I am planning to get the SMS 30A MPPT.
However, I have an 80w panel that is gathering dust in my store. My first question is this, can I connect all the panels in parallel? ( 2 * 200w + 1 * 80w ) Or should I buy another 200w or use my 400w like that?
My second question is also related to the first, will my new CC be able to handle the extra 80w or 200w additional panel?
Thank you for the help. |

No idea o. I was not the one who assembled the battery. It was just refusing to charge. Anyway, I took the battery back to my plug and he just changed the BMS and the battery was fine. oloet: What happened to your BMS |

I had an issue with mine the very day it was purchased. 12V 1KVA Hybrid. The BMS on my battery was bad, and I think it affected the inverter. Error 09, some MOSFETs had blown. I later took it to their office in Alaba and the Chinese guy fixed it in about 2 hours and apologized. The most important thing was that there was support and the warranty covered issues as they occur. Ogidi1991: Goodmorning everyone
Please is the sms summate inverter a strong and reliable brand I’m planning to purchase the 6.2kva hybrid inverter (MPPT 120A) |

Yes. Literarily. When speculation was rife before the ban. There were periods when you could not see USDT to buy for NGN. There is still a high demand for USD and there are no local substitutes for some necessary demands. Tinubu is kind of walking the knife's edge, there needs to be a drastic cut in government social services spending and their expenditure. The legislature needs a similar cut as well. The problem is that if you ask an average Nigerian, they'd be adamant that the government does not do anything for them in the first place. Petrol should be 1600NGN per litre, electricity should be priced by the discos independently. However, those cuts are steep and would increase social unrest. I wish him the best SenecaTheYonger: I don’t understand. Like people in the market did not want to accept Naira anymore ? |

Your comment is misleading. Economics is simple. The amount of people that wanted to get Naira became scarce. Hence the price rose. USDT is not scarce. The people who want Naira are scarce for obvious reasons. The outrageous increase daily? Speculation. There is speculation because the CBN is being vague about its accounts and you cannot as a Nigerian get dollars easily. Even with the supposed unified exchange rates, most bank cards cannot pay for Godaddy or Coursera. SenecaTheYonger: It serves you guys right. You had a little bit of control over the exchange rate so you kept increasing it by 99naira everyday just to make small profit. At the expense of 199 million Nigerians.
USDT is not scarce. I’ve never in my life heard of scarcity of USDT. So why did the price keep increasing?
You use Naira to buy USDT. You can never use dollar to buy USDT in Nigeria.
Since the clamp down on Binance, Naira has gone from 1k7 to 1k5 and it’s been hoverint about 1k5 since that time. Seriously, what were you guys doing at Binance?
Both Naira and USDT are not scarce, so why the outrageous increase everyday?

That brief moment, are you sure it is brief? A normal 2500va Mercury UPS should serve you fine. I previously used an APC Back-UPS Pro, 1500VA/865W and it could carry my Starlink only for about 2-3 hours, about 30-40 mins when the battery degraded. I am pretty sure a 1000va UPS will serve you fine. The reason why I mentioned the stuff about the brief moment is because Ultimately, you should look to put your Starlink on some LiPo Battery and an Inverter. It will be expensive, but it is worth every penny. ibawon: Abeg my people, I need help based on what UPS to get. I want to power my laptop, a 27" monitor and Starlink, just for the brief moment before I switch to Gen. Please advise which type I can get. |

I live near a network mast. I have been told the same thing by Starlink support easyyoke: That isnt what he is saying. He is saying his dish, not his router, is getting interference from nearby mast. If his claim was that his router is getting interference, that is still in line with how interference works… But saying a LTE mast is interfering with how your dish is communicating with satellites that are 550km above ground level is absurd. As a matter of fact, there are many questions like this on Reddit with users asking if nearby mast can degrade their service.
But if he insists his dish’s communincation to satellites is being interefered by nearby masts, then so be it.

Thank you boss. I have started the process of having it fixed. I still have a warranty mctfopt: This indicates a problem with the inverter's IGBT or DC-DC MOSFET, which are components that convert DC power to AC power. This could be caused by a high AC surge or PV surge that damages these sections. You'll need it to take it to a service centre for repairs. |

I understand. However, I am looking for a temporary solution. The SMS hybrid inverter I bought is showing 09 error code. I need something to fill in the gap while I get the warranty process sorted bassdow: would suggest getting an inverter that supports other Voltages also e.g 12v & 24v.
Also, would suggest going for an inverter anywhere from 1.5KVA and above as 1KVA is easily not enough sooner than later. |

I imagine you mean well. I’d like to add a few comments though. Your policies about the use of dollar will fall flat and even cause more problems. Have you tried to get a BTA/PTA recently? Then you should know how inefficient the process is. Or gone through all the hoops of Form M and Form A? Would you then say we should use only Nigerian phones ? Or only Nigerian made things? We don’t make a majority of what we consume. Short of turning our society to a police state, and even then, our outrageous corruption will prevent those policies you have mentioned about the dollarization of the economy to work. If you want to burn speculators, the government needs doings and actions. All the talk of hunting down saboteurs is hogwash as far as am concerned. I will continue to short the naira. emkz: This was my comment on this matter a few days back. The overt dollarization of the Nigerian economy is dangerous especially when we have no control over the currency. |

The Starlink Router itself is crappy. I did not split mine. Using it combined, but I have two Starlink routers in a mesh. I will eventually buy the ethernet cable. Most of my typical speed is between 40-150 Mbps I also read somewhere that when you split, you should connect faster modern devices to the 5Ghz network, apparently the slower devices will limit the speed on the channel "Also, check which other devices are on your wifi network and their signal level. Try turning off wifi on other devices that may be struggling. Wifi networks can tend to be slowed down to the speed of their poorest member." https://www.reddit.com/r/Starlink/comments/15cx1o9/comment/jtyux6g/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3noCAP: Hmm, I remember seeing it briefly when I split it. Since then, nothing. How are you using yours now abeg? Did you change anything or did you order for a replacement?

Bottleneck seems to be your device. I would bet your network is not split and you are being connected to the slower 2.4 wifi automatically. noCAP: Advanced speed test. I am planning to move the dish to a higher place, probably that's where the problem is from |

Check if you have obstructions, run the advanced speed test to see what the results are. Chances of damaging the cable during installation is high. So check your debug data. But no, that’s not the speed you should be getting. noCAP: Abeg, naso una starlink dey? |

Starlink does not usually add the full address information on the shipping label sent to DHL. I learnt this first-hand when they were sending the replacement router. I forgot to update the address with DHL and on the day they were supposed to deliver, they called me to ask where is my address is located. I waited till the next week to receive my package as they don't work on weekends. You should read the previous posts for more information, there is one guy on this thread that has always been preaching it. HIbreed: Why so? |
