Are these cars reliable daily drivers compared to a Golf 4?
The seller is asking 1.7 for it ( Negotiation has not occurred, just his initial price)

This is an awesome take.
Everyone’s use case is different. 20mbps constant is a wonderful predictable speed and it is perfect for even SME’s.

If you live in an area with 5g and you have unlimited internet, you cannot justify the purchase of Starlink.

However, if you stay in Iyana Ipaja, where your only hope for Fiber currently is Dotmac fiber to home and you need high speed internet ?. Truth be told, most people will be served by 200gb airtel unlimited and never exceed their data cap.

Everyone’s use cases are not the same like this poster said. If you are not already exceeding 300GB monthly, I doubt you can justify spending such amounts to buy the equipment.

Nigerians and their bragging. 20mbps is fine for the overwhelming majority of internet users. It will do Youtube, Netflix, Prime Videos etc fine. I know because I'm using one at home with fibre.

With fibre all over Lagos for which entry fees are less than 100k, I had asked myself why people are rushing Starlink. When the thing first launched in Nigeria, I repeatedly tried to buy, but I kept finding it difficult to justify that expense especially since I have a good fibre connection that I pay less than 20k for per month. It is also unlimited and there is no FUP. It is 20mbps for one whole month and I have pulled over 1TB data in some months.

Besides, the report I'm getting is that the 100-300mbps is not always guaranteed. I have seen people with 40mbps download. I don't see the noise about Starlink if you live in an urban area with access to high speed unlimited fibre connection. I can not justify paying extra 20k for a bandwidth I really don't need.

In my opinion, I think it is physics.
Traditionally, Satellite internet has always been slow because typically an ISP usually has like 1 space dish that covers your whole continent. The radio waves are sent from your own device to the space dish, then relayed to the ground station of the ISP which then connects you to the internet and forwards the response to you via the same loop.
Starlink changed the game by only bringing the space stations closer, this fixed the download side. However instead of 1 single dish in a fixed location, you now have thousands orbiting the sky and your own equipment is now responsible for tracking those stations in the sky.
The weak link is how the information is being sent and received via the space stations. Hence why any small rain, the internet will go crazy and often times go offline.

Abeg this one is not factual. If you know anyone who is selling their used device, it's either they are gamers and they already have access to networks with high ping or they are content creators that need access to high upload speeds.

You are comparing Starlink to the older satellite technologies, that one cannot fly.
See my speed test this morning and it is currently drizzling, a scenario that affects the speed.

even before the launch of starLink in Nigeria, I have spoken on it a couple of times - satelitte internet is only useful if you resiide in very deep interior bushes places where common GSM call struggles. In terms of speed & cost, it's the slowest and costlier. But often reliable. e get reason why it's regularly used by the Millitary.

I am pretty sure over 400% of those who rushed to buy it have either sold theirs, or are looking to dispose it.

No this is different.....this is a data capped plan with FUP. Their unlimited is actually speed capped. Their is 20mbps, 40mbps and 60mbps. Do your research. In my location it's fast, I stream Netflix, stream live matches, and watch youtube in HD

There is no Airtel Unlimited for 20k.
After finishing the 200GB, you are given 10GB daily that you cannot track the use.

Please, if you have the money go for Starlink, 100% you won't regret it. It has its own issues o, but you will not regret switching. Especially if you live in an area where current Nigerian ISP's are crappy.

Airtel unlimited is preferable......Have been using it(Airtel unlimited) since December. Speed capped but truly unlimited. 20000 for 20mbps, You can't go wrong with it.

the cost of MPPT doesn't really justify for such a small setUp. except you have plans of upgrading later.

instead, would suggest buying those fake MPPT - they are PWM but marketed as MPPT. Some despite being PWM, are kinda better than most PWM in the market.

your battery is 100AH, while your solar panel is 400w. That's more than enough for the battery already. any PWM should be enough since even the battery capacity is small.

The battery in question is 100ah, should I continue with my PWM? I was told that I could get more charging efficiency from the current 400w on the roof by switching to MPPT.

As long as the VMP is 18V for all panels, Connect them in parallel. it works.

MPPT won't offer much unless you buy it for a Planned upgrade.

I have 2 questions regarding how to wire solar panels together.

I have 2 X 200W 12v solar panels that I am using with a PWM charge controller. It is a 12v battery. The battery builder told me to switch to an MPPT CC. I am planning to get the SMS 30A MPPT.

However, I have an 80w panel that is gathering dust in my store. My first question is this, can I connect all the panels in parallel? ( 2 * 200w + 1 * 80w ) Or should I buy another 200w or use my 400w like that?

My second question is also related to the first, will my new CC be able to handle the extra 80w or 200w additional panel?

No idea o. I was not the one who assembled the battery. It was just refusing to charge.
Anyway, I took the battery back to my plug and he just changed the BMS and the battery was fine.

I had an issue with mine the very day it was purchased. 12V 1KVA Hybrid.
The BMS on my battery was bad, and I think it affected the inverter. Error 09, some MOSFETs had blown.
I later took it to their office in Alaba and the Chinese guy fixed it in about 2 hours and apologized.

The most important thing was that there was support and the warranty covered issues as they occur.

Yes. Literarily.
When speculation was rife before the ban. There were periods when you could not see USDT to buy for NGN.
There is still a high demand for USD and there are no local substitutes for some necessary demands. Economics is simple.

The amount of people that wanted to get Naira became scarce. Hence the price rose.

USDT is not scarce. The people who want Naira are scarce for obvious reasons. The outrageous increase daily? Speculation. There is speculation because the CBN is being vague about its accounts and you cannot as a Nigerian get dollars easily. Even with the supposed unified exchange rates, most bank cards cannot pay for Godaddy or Coursera.

A normal 2500va Mercury UPS should serve you fine.

I previously used an APC Back-UPS Pro, 1500VA/865W and it could carry my Starlink only for about 2-3 hours, about 30-40 mins when the battery degraded.

I am pretty sure a 1000va UPS will serve you fine.
The reason why I mentioned the stuff about the brief moment is because Ultimately, you should look to put your Starlink on some LiPo Battery and an Inverter. It will be expensive, but it is worth every penny.

That isnt what he is saying. He is saying his dish, not his router, is getting interference from nearby mast. If his claim was that his router is getting interference, that is still in line with how interference works… But saying a LTE mast is interfering with how your dish is communicating with satellites that are 550km above ground level is absurd. As a matter of fact, there are many questions like this on Reddit with users asking if nearby mast can degrade their service.

But if he insists his dish’s communincation to satellites is being interefered by nearby masts, then so be it.

would suggest getting an inverter that supports other Voltages also e.g 12v & 24v.

Also, would suggest going for an inverter anywhere from 1.5KVA and above as 1KVA is easily not enough sooner than later.

In the manual it means bus soft start failed.
