Let me poke my nose. Yes Upwork to Wise works, you need the USD account from Wise, and it costs 20$( this is not taken from your account, just for verification). It can be verified with a Payoneer card ( at least that's how I did mine, chipper did not work, neither did UBA Prepaid $ card) You can use Wise to receive funds outside of Upwork, from anyone either using your URL / email or giving out the Bank details. Advisable to keep your money in Wise? I don't know, but honestly, I don't have any confidence in the Nigerian banking system anymore. I have resolved to keep my money in Wise till further notice. The fact that I can use it to transfer to a variety of countries and persons, without needing to go to the bank If you wish to receive your funds in Naira from Wise, simply withdraw to either Geegpay or Grey or trade it on Paxful for crypto. The decision is yours, depending on your needs. Babtunz: Hi qtguru, I figured you're one of the few who use Wise here and I have a few questions I need your help with. 1. Does transfer from Upwork to Wise work? And can you use Wise to receive international funds in USD?
2. Is it advisable to keep my funds in Wise?
Thanks for your response, chief. |

Note, I don't know. There is this problem I run into when trying to advise people. How to earn legitimately and be self-sufficient, despite the fact that everything seems to be against them personally currently. Providing services online usually involves having some degree of skill and a market to sell those skills. Marketplaces to sell those skills are already saturated and to those that have more (in this case experience), more will be given. The factors you can control are probably the time you invest into upskilling and becoming a jack of several trades. However, this usually involves time-consuming unrewarded labour that may or may not pay off. How do you tell someone that they need to pick up coding when regular data is a problem and they don't even have a PC of their own? I have run into this conundrum many times this year. NB. I am sure there are several skills that are not related to code. I have a narrow vision because of my experience, so forgive me. Godswilleee: Pls I am going to beg d house, we all know this is 2023, pls if anyone knows any good legite online business that one can earn 3 - 5$ per day, they should kindly help me with it.. Yes, but direct contracts are for those you bring to the platform, if I had a client off-platform, I'd be hesitant about bringing them onto Upwork in the first place. He smells like a scammy fellow, his posts are designed to attract the curious to what must he be doing to earn that much. beautycrush24: He's obviously talking about direct contracts on Upwork. He's making it sound like a huge secret but it's actually there in the open for everyone to see. Doesn't make him an OG like he makes it seem. |

Nope. I don't have a social life. My partner and I work remote, and I am introverted by nature. I don't particularly feel pressured to change that aspect. I also think that you should not rely on substances to ease your apprehension of social interaction, it is in my opinion, that you start to feel that without the substance, you lack the courage to act. That's just my opinion though. Jackanda1: Do energy drinks make you more social? I have a problem with social interaction. |

Agriculture › Re: The Plight Of Ginger Farmers In Southern Kaduna by Ayomipoe(m): 9:39am On Dec 20, 2022 |
I don’t know much about farming, the person above that suggested unionizing naught be right. Although that might meet stiff resistance and there will always be sell outs. A possible approach will be attempting to modernize the process. Reducing the manual bits and improving the cleaning and storing process. This will allow farmers to bypass the local dealers and sell directly to foreign buyers. I am not naive to think that it will be possible without a huge capital, but if you are looking for capital and support, you need to already know how much you want and the risks. Lassbati222: I come from Kaduna State, southern Kaduna to be precise. A native of Ham chiefdom who are known to be the top Ginger producing communities and that is why Kaduna State top the five Ginger producing states in Nigeria, which includes Bauchi state, Benue State, Gombe State and Nasarawa.
Farming Ginger is not an easy job, due to the fact that everything is done manually. Starting from clearing the land, digging the soil, cutting the seed into smaller pieces, buying of cow dung and spreading on the land, farming (Which require some to be dropping the smaller pieces of the seed, while others will use hoe to cover the seeds), covering the farm land with leaves, weeding (which can be done two or three times before harvest time), fertilizer application (Applied twice or thrice), harvesting (Done by digging and picking each seed) slicing each and drying. Note that during last farming season, a basin of Ginger seed was going for N12,000 which will only cover a very small portion. Also note that fertilizer which use to cost N8,000 but last farming season, the Local government offered subsidized fertilizer at @ N21,700
Despite this stress, the local dealers are regulating the prices at will, leaving poor farmers helpless.
From October 2021 to October 2022, a bag of Ginger was sold between N30,000 to N34,000 depending on how clean your Ginger is. A bag is usually 41kg. At least it was a little consolation to farmers.
From November local dealers started bringing down the price, knowing farmers have no option, since they have needs. From 30k to 28k, to 21k to 20k to 18k to 15k and now back 20k.
Whereas I have been following the wholesale price of Ginger online. Let's take the price of Ginger as at 17th December, 2022. It was sold at $3.58 per kg. Each bag is 41kg, assuming $ is N700, it means it was going N102,746 and if we keep $ at N500, then it was going for N73,390 but as at that 17th December, local dealers were buying from famers @N18,000. HABA
HOW DO LOCAL DEALERS GET MONEY TO PURCHASE GINGER IN LARGE QUANTITY? I only know few dealers who use their personal money to buy ginger, transport to the wholesale market and sell it. But must of them have bigger dealers within and outside the country who supply them with money to purchase ginger, while trailers keep coming to pack them away to the person that gave out the money. My issue here is, most times you here that the bigger dealers pay this local dealers between 45k-60k per 41kg bag(Depending on who is providing the money) then this local dealers will inturn exploit the farmers by buying between 18-25 0r 30k-34k as the case of oct last year to oct this year. This is really unacceptable.
Please if there is anyone who have an idea on ginger market should help and anyone who have ideas on how we can get out of the grip of these local dealers should please help.
Front page please. |

I think it will still be wise to hold the USD. In my own selfish mathematics, I find that it is easier to get things done when you already have the USD. However, since we all have different lifestyles and interests, you may have sufficient enough reason why you think the Naira is better for you to hold. RelevantSolutio: They are doing this out of ignorance or fear of loosing Too Much HARD CURRENCIES To People simply because The CBN is Trying To Play A PUMP and DUMP Game for The Bank and Society.
If The Bank Allows People to withdraw all their Hard Currencies All @ Once; The Banks will be Forced To HOLD "Naira" while Having All The RESERVES of Their Hard Currencies Heavily Diminished.
Many People who have been Keeping Their Hard Currencies in The Bank since $1 was 150 to 350 Naira will Gain Mightily and The Stocks of The Banks would Shake and Diminish as They will Suffer Great Losses.
So, it is best to create another Dom account with a Bank that still allows people to withdraw their hard currencies.
You can do this within 1 week.
Then,
You can easily transfer your dollars from your present Dom account to The New One.
Act Fast before Dollar Dumps on You, King.
I'm also selling off All My Hard Currencies too. |

You are not withdrawing. You are sending someone Payoneer funds in exchange for some cryptocurrency, with Paxful as the escrow agent. Min trade is USD 50 trade time is about 5-15 mins. Note this is against Payoneer's Terms of Service. So you create a trade on Paxful, and the seller sends you an email to send the funds. Mark paid when funds are confirmed to have been received by the recipient. That's usually how it goes down. Glistinin: Please how do you withdraw from payoneer to Paxful?

I think it’s primarily your source of USD that determines which approach is best for you. Once the USD is in your local dom account, the only way to extract it will be to go through all the stress or use SWIFT or use the card on TransferWISE. I received my funds primarily from Freelance websites, so Payoneer -> USDT via Paxful has been my go to approach, otherwise when GeegPay rates are good and I don’t mind waiting for 24 hours, then I use them. Wish you the best, also don’t shy from experimenting, Grey.co, Crypto.com, there are platforms that give you access to European/ American banking info, however like I said, it depends on your source of funds. To be honest, i don’t know if you are being intentionally naive or you just want to be adamant about this point you are making and refuse to see where the problem lies. The problem is demand and supply, low supply equals high demand and prices. The idea that scarcity should not then be absurd is honestly a petty, tantrum-like notion. Humans will continually evolve and seek better arbitrage where there is one to be gained. It will be when you wish you buy power bank 10000mah and you hear the price at 20,000NGN for a used one and you say the merchant is a thief, remember lack of electricity should not be absurd sir. Have a fine day. LegacyB: So scarcity should not be absurd then . You can’t eat your cake and have it. |

Now, you'll probably have to use SWIFT or maybe get a GBP card, then use TransferWise to collect your own money. My fears about saving in a local bank don't seem far-fetched at this point. God 'safe' us. MT: I deposited pounds sterling into my domiciliary account last year. I wanted to travel and decided to withdraw part of my pounds, to my shock, at GTB they told me that there was no pounds.
So, what's the point of having dom account when I could not withdraw my own money from the bank where I keep it? |

Yes, but what happens when I want to pay for a service in USD. For example, import a Car? Since my requirements for it is not of paramount importance to the Govt, I am left to source the USD on my own. I can't buy the car in Naira, can I? zomoears: Expect more of this in the coming days.

It is idiocy for me to exchange my money at the Govt rate when I know that the value that the Govt has pegged it is absurd, worse even if I cannot buy at the supposed rate they are pegged it at, why do I then sell to them at that rate? LegacyB: Bro my opinion will be different here am not gonna join the band wagons. Tell the Bank you want to exchange at the official rate you’ll have your money . But the issue is most people want to sell to Black market and still blame the Bank for scarcity. This is Nigeria and we spend NAIRA qed....... so if dollar is scare it’s no issue. I want to hope so. I still feel very reluctant, just maybe the lack of trust in the system. I already have significant challenges in accessing USD on demand locally. I am not sure Emefiele will be there by this time next year, I will be surprised if the new administration does not fire him. Dexyity: Just the news alone will collapse all Influx on dollar into the country. We wey already have fx issue, they will now say they want to automatically change Innocent lying USD in domiciliary account.
Our economy is healthy, forget the current exchange issue. Emefiele can never try this shit. Check the influx of dollar into the country every month, now imagine if CBN tried such policy you mentioned! Those influx will stop and problem will loom for the country.
That is why CBN never even attempt such, rather, they are dealing with other loopholes that encourage frauds, black market exploiters etc. |

I fear this too. Hence my reluctance to save in my DOM account. OP, the major problem is scarcity and maybe because you don't know someone. UBA does not allow me to transfer USD with my app, so I have to physically go to the bank to withdraw (This is a nightmare, I assure you). I heard Access and GTB allow you to transfer with the app. What happens when I still used to go to the bank was that I would collect a recipient's account that used UBA as me, and then the FX guy would debit me and credit the guy. However, I noticed something weird. He would always cancel the sender name that I wrote as mine and write "self". Now, I use Geegpay and USDT. HAH: . Very soon savings in dollars will be banned, Physical Dollars cash may also be banned, Naira value is getting eroded because people now use dollars like is our local currency, when travelling abroad you will have to buy travellers cheque from your bank.
Soon all your FX in dorm account will be converted to Naira, there are over $20B dollars in dorm accounts, if this is converted to Naira dollar can be less than 200 Naira |

My fellow Big Man, the only relevant data you have posted is the "Resources - Low". Remove that CGPA from your mind. Where you need to go now depends a lot on that "Resources - Low". I will advise you to pick something in tech and give it a try, you will need a laptop ( it doesn't have to be the best, you can prioritize battery life over other specs) and a regular data subscription. A lot of things are not as we'd wish them to be, so it will be in your best interests to look within and see if you already have some skills that you are underestimating its value or you are currently doing for free, monetize and use it to invest in the skill you want to acquire. If you have relatives you can still "story", story them and get those resources you need. In whatever path you decide ultimately to try, remember that failing, is merely confirmation that the idea you tried did not work, try another. ankiboy: Hello. I am a 24 year old student.
