Mr ignoramus! The president is the head of state and it's different from that of a chancellor both have different protocols during official diplomatic visits to other countries. This is because she reports to president and the both work in hand! Yes the chancellor or the prime minister in parliamentary rule is the head of government and she forms her government and reports to the head of state which happens to be either the president or the Queen ( as in United kingdom) or whoever is the head in the country.
And need I remind you that Germany has a president too! Mr I know too much about nothing.
