Where do you stay? Let's talk about the polythene business. Kindly get in touch. Wodu89: |
pquaver:It appears you are conflicting indigenship with citizenship. This is not a legal opinion, expiration of passport does not invalidate your citizenship. Passport is an identification tag for international travel purposes. |
I think reading through this quoted message would provide clarification on the way forward. Good luck! MrBrownJay1: |
piyoo91:You seem to have given up. I wonder why that's the case? |
Onedayoneday:I'm sorry for what happened to you. It's easier to say that you could have done better; you reacted based on your circumstances. It's not entirely your faults. Incase you see this message, please try to send me a DM. I have something for you to pay back the loan you collected. |
Hi lazynairander1, If you can tutor me (guidance basically) on SQL, Python and how to go about having data analysis project online, you would work less number of hours and be happier. I'm good with Power Bi and I'm more than an average user of SQL; so you wouldn't be stressed tutoring me. |
Health implications? I'm not aware of any. Eight years ago, some engineers approached someone on a street where I had a piece of land. Eventually, the engineers decided they mast would be best positioned on my land. They wanted 25% of the land (the land is 1 plot) for 10 years at 1million per year. Few days later, the engineer called to say something around "settling some guys within the company". I agreed. After 3 months of back and forth, I received 7 million. They ended up not finishing the construction of the mast on the said piece of land. The lease is ending in the coming year and the land is still mine. |
Richdee1:My email is stated in the message you quoted. You're free to drop a message. |
I'm happy you are able to break free from the addiction. May God give you strength and grace to recover all that you have lost. |
Rutherford2019:Because you were suspended, it means automatically the payment of salary to you should cease (provided the suspension is not an administrative leave). However, given that monthly remittances were going into your pension account, it means someone somewhere was ensuring that the University kept on paying your salary and another person or persons were collecting the salary on your behalf. Fraud was being commited in your name. Should you go to court ? It all depends on what you intend to achieve from the court. Most likely, the fraud would be identified (and perpetrators would most likely go scot-free). Then all remittances into pension account since the day you were suspended would be withdrawn; as the court may rule that salaries were being paid in "error". Concerning damages, on what ground would you want to claim damages - on the ground of unlawful suspension or non-payment of salaries ? And by the way,why would you want to go to court when you have been recalled ? My suggestion to you would be for you to explore the possibilities of ensuring that your salaries since you were suspended are paid to you (if this is possible). You can go to court to enforce this but I do not think it would be a good idea as you are most likely a junior staff in the university. Good luck with your decision! |
immanuel86:You said you and your friends "invested almost 8 million", how come your transfer receipt is showing 9.6 milion ? The story on the street is that these guys have not paid some of their investors. Be careful out there guys. |
gifftson101:Apologies for the stress you had to go through. The streets are not smiling indeed. However, there are still people who can genuinely invest in ideas that are solution driven. This next comment is directed at you and the OP. What tangible problem are you looking at providing solution for? What's the minimum amount you can start with? How much of your personal fund are you committing (this is called responsibly involved) How can you guarantee to make profit within the next 18 months What are the conditions upon which the business may fail? Are you looking for a loan or investor? What are your possible repayment plans? Where in Nigeria do you reside (I'm biased towards people residing in the North as this is easier for me to do some due diligence) I did crowd-funding for some business early this year and I'm doing more for year 2020 in sha Allah. We rise by lifting others. |
SamuelAnyawu:Let's do WOLF over the weekend. Command is too far for now |
Houseofglam7:That's how many of you talk out of tune; talking as if they have facts. Well, I know those who are qualified for these positions would never listen to your unfounded rumour. |
SamuelAnyawu:South Sudan or Bangladesh. Louder! Stay safe and please avoid Damasak at the moment. |
Many of the people that comment on Nairaland job section are still 'minors' without career path. They are still too young to understand opportunities when they see them. Why would a Doctor complain of seeing patients? He can't because it is his job to provide medication and cure. If you are an aid worker (or you aspire to be one), what is the big deal when you see openings in Borno or Yobe? These are the places donors are currently interested in hence the job openings you see daily. Someone in the comment section said Chiccly:What ever happens to Dangote having refinery in Lagos? The positions in Yobe and Borno are because those are the places where the positions are required. Not all job openings are meant for everybody. That you are not interested should not make you discourage people who are. sexiestharam:They were in Rann. It would surprise you to know that these positions are very very competitive. centurionpapa:Yes, BH is still a problem. But not much of a threat to aid worker as the Media portrays it. There are still some places that are not safe to go and all NGOs take pre-cautionary measures. |
purem:Please get in touch with me. Send a message. Thank you. |
Donald Duke would not be a bad idea except for the fact that he is presidential candidate in his own right. Okonjo Iweala would be good. A woman with international appeal. She could help to negotiate many of Nigeria's indebtedness. She would be very sell-able. Keziehenry: |

It is saddening reading through many of the comments on the first page. The OP simply asked how much is enough for a wife's upkeep or for wife's personal allowance. Whether an African setting or not, it is not out of place placing on wife on allowance whether she is working on not. To answer the OP's question. What is enough as allowance is relative. It all depends on your income, your financial responsibilities in the house besides the allowance, your view on what your wife can ask you to routinely buy and your wife's perspective on her own finance. addictiv:Well, to each his own. I actually do not agree with the premise of your argument that feeding is primarily your mum's responsibility or should be primarily a woman's responsibility but i do agree with you that bearing the responsibility alone as a man will run you down and wear you out. By the way, monthly money is not only house wives. That is my view. |
Nwaohafia1:I bet to disagree. Salary negotiation is real in Nigeria even when you try to employ gateman, salaries are negotiated until there is a common ground or each party decides to go separate ways. patani:Thank you for stating this. |
This article was lifted from Investopia (https://www.investopedia.com/articles/investing/070915/how-does-fifa-make-money.asp ) and it is such a shame that the OP could not acknowledge the authorship. How do we grow as a people if we keep on stealing from other people? Great article by the way. It is informative. |
I was expecting a list that truly is amazing but kept secret. |
Nigerians and propensity to defraud are 5 and 6. |
Ok. When would all these blind theft end? |
macherie1:I totally disagreed with you concerning the above. Ms office is a skill and one that's worth amplifying depending on the job you are applying for. In fact, there are some organisations that would ask you to rate your proficiency in MS office. So to the job seekers, please don't believe everything your read. If you are proficient in MS office, please amplify it. My HR once disqualified a good candidate because of her lack of proficiency in MS Excel. |
Hi, it would have been preferable if everyone you mention is accompanied by the symbol. Thank you all the same. |
Well, i don't actually reply to posts such as this but today i decided to put in some response; i have got some time on my plate. I don't agree with what you said because they seem not to be true. All you said does not apply to 'salaried people' alone but they are rather assertions that cut across every one whether 'salaried' or not. It would have been better for you to title your post as "Reasons why you should consider a second stream of income". I will pick your reasons one after the other: You job can not make you rich. This is a blatant lie. You statement is the same as saying "been your own boss may never make you rich". So, why do you have to be your own boss? Take note of the auxillary verb 'may'. This is because it is a relative statement rather than a sweeping generalization. So, why are you making a sweeping statement about salaried people? Who tells you my job can't make me rich? How do you even define rich? My short answer to this question would be: uzoclinton:Your job can make you rich big time. The key is to grow the 'rich' into wealth by creating another stream of income. I am not wealthy but I am relatively comfortable. The point now is, am I satisfied? What we should preach is, don't be satisfied with your current position, strive to achieve more; sky is just the beginning. You job can blind you to life realities So can your personal business or your education or your up-bringing or parentage or anything you can think about. Linking this to being an employee only does not just make sense. it paints a picture that you are right but then you are far from the truth. Been blind to life realities is not a resultant effect of being an employee but rather a possible effects of so many situations and life factors. Learn more than how you work This is a piece of advice that applies to both employee and employer of labour. In fact, this is the only piece of advice i totally agree with in your posts. So, this is rather a piece of advice and not a reason for anything you might have asserted. You are not in control if you need salary This is another lie. I assume you probably have some online business going for you, that does not make you have control either. If there is no remittance from Ad sense (or what ever online biz you are into), do you have control? Would you not feel edgy about non-remittance. I tell you, there are many salaried people that would not fringe when their salaries are delayed. You know why? The rule to financial independence is, "some part of what you earn is yours to keep (save) and live within what remains " - Excerpts from Richest man in Babylon. The bottom line is, you are not in control if you don't have money; and being your own boss does not necessarily result into you being rich. You are responsible for your financial state Been an entrepreneur or making money for yourself does not necessarily translate into you "living beyond your job" (quote from OP) and neither does working someone. I think the key should be, does what you do make you fulfilled? Now being fulfilled is very broad and this word is used here in its entire sense. Been an entrepreneur may not even make you feel fulfilled, so what's fuzz about been your own boss? By the way, i work for someone and I'm doing what i love with every sense of fulfillment. Yes, my purchasing power has dropped considerably due to recession but then so does everyone's purchasing power in Nigeria. This is not a big deal. As i said earlier, what everyone needs is a second or third or fourth stream of income. No one should rely on one even if you are an entrepreneur. If you are struggling and your take-home pay can no longer take you home; it is high time you re-examined why you are doing what you are doing whether you are an employee or an employer. If you are always broke before your next pay (as an employee or entrepreneur), you need to change how your work or where you work. This is just my one kobo contribution. |
Happy Valentines day to Gazzuzz |
The only solution to this issue for motorist to stop paying. Get your documents rights, put vehicles in rights shape be courteous to the officers. I dare any officer that would force to give him/her money. I dont give police officers money and i am ready to withstand any 'time-wasting' officers because of that. |
Alvin007:I can't seem to find any explanation for this. |
