jaxxy: The truth is that they can not get fat money by legal means and u know it. It's definitely tied to favors taken to twist justice since it's not drug money. If it's legal money or their fathers inheritance they shud explain the business dey did and the withdrawals from where they were paid in their accounts/legal papers for it or they now do their large legal business by move large sums of cash about? Any good lawyer will convict these criminals I tell u. Well Burantai has properties in Dubai and we know his salary couldn't have paid for that. I'm not saying the judges are not corrupt but if you want to base your judgement on the amount of money found in their homes, then Burantai has a very big bulls eye on his back. |

Wadeoye: I can only use this medium to appeal to Tinubu and his supporters to take it easy... Nigeria is for all of us and no one should force himself as landlord on others.
In inner South West, people don't like hearing that name "Tinubu" because they see him as someone who wants to enslave them and take all that belong to them for himself and his boys.
He should take it easy and avoid being relegated to a regional political warlord. He can easily, with APC at national level, become a statesman supporting leaders at local, state and federal levels with ideas and ensuring they work to better the lots of the people who voted for them.
Unfortunately, people see Tinubu as someone who always wants to corner as much as possible for himself and the errant boys who are loyal to him. Only people who don't know Tinubu or those who know him but dislike him believe he is a dictator. |

Too many clueless people on this thread.
The charges against Saraki were dropped to stop the Saraki - Tinubu alliance and get Saraki on the PMB side.
Saraki has presidential ambitions and there's no way he is going to get the ticket in APC in 2019, his choices are either with the PDP or with a new party. |

Scholes007: On monetary term yes but on fiscal term no. But the question is 1. Are we taking the appropriate monetary policies? To me is a yes on short and medium terms. 2.how? The bank have offered some incentives to manufacturers and to agriculture. 3. What is holding the positive result? No fiscal policy to back it up 4. How? There is no clear cut policies to aid these businesses to remain viable. Fiscal policy can be summed up to: Cut taxes or Massive spend on infrastructure 1) Can't cut taxes because revenue is already low 2) Massive spend: The budget suggests this is want they plan to do, but then were is money? Borrow heavily or Sell assets? (This is where we are right now) |
Politics › Re: Recession: Resign Within The Next 21 Days, Northern Youths Tells Emefiele by AZeD1(m): 12:06am On Oct 06, 2016 |
Scholes007: I will like to avoid the reason the group made for his resignations, because it is clear they want to be saling dollar as they used to... Let's be realistic, the CBN cannot afford any other option apart from withholding and controlling the amount of foreign currency especially the dollar to at least save the naira, mitigate inflation and regulate the depiction of our foreign reserve (which we can give them pass mark on). It is no longer news that Nigeria is in deep recession, with little source of foreign exchange, the economic activties has slowed down and local companies are struggling. The economic term of the presidency should bring out packages that will aid in boosting economic activties, spend more money and borrow if need be. You see this is what will aid the CBN to take more actions. The ball is in the court of the minister and his team to bring out packages that will be compatible with reality on ground. Don't get me wrong, the group are a bunch of political jobbers and I don't care about them. My own is if Buhari is impeding the work of Emefile, he should resign. It's the same advice I'd give to Kemi and I expected Kachikwu to have resigned since. My quoting you was just too point out that the CBN plays a role in the economy (a big one at that)and I believe the CBN governor should be more powerful than the minister of finance. |

Rivers State was a more humiliating loss for the APC so if they were going to punish any state in the South South, it would be Rivers. Bayelsa in my opinion lost out because there's really no strong politician from there in the APC(Sylvia doesn't count). The law is not concerned with what party the accused belong to but whether the accused it guilty or not. That other thieves have not been caught would not help the accused in the courts either. When it comes to corruption/crime your party doesn't matter so you cannot be witch hunted in a corruption/crime case. |

Buhari if you have plans to come back in 2019 or want to install a successor, you better extend the hand of friendship to Tinubu.
As at today, the presidential candidate for the two major parties in 2019 would be northerners, so the votes would be split in that region. SS and SE would vote against APC, The battle ground is the SW and Tinubu is worth 2 million votes here. |

markpenk: Is stealing, lying, breaking community/societal rules and dictates subjective to the society? Is broad daylight embezzlement/financial misappropriation the order of the day and an acceptable activity in any society regardless of its cultures?
So, when serial killers murder other people, it is acceptable because they feel it is right? So, when people are deprived of their fair wages, it is normal -and I don't mean in the "what can we do" way. I mean in the "that's okay, it's acceptable" way?
Point to one society where this applies.
Since morals are relative, it means that if I deprive you of fair wages after you've done a good job, because feel I'm right, that would be acceptable? If I come into your home and rape your wife/your sister in front of you because I can and have no compunctions about it, you would talk about moral relativity and try to understand my perspective?
If I come to your place of business, hire your services or pick up a few items and walk away because I feel I'm justified, that's alright? Where in the world is this common practice? Please educate me.
When many people talk about morally relative practices, their arguments and examples typically come from a sexual standpoint -please don't bring this up as I'm familiar with sexual practices in parts of Polynesia. It's not relevant to this discourse (we're not talking about sexual defilement/affairs and its relative acceptance or the lack of it in some societies).
I maintain that there are universal principles of fairness, justice, and equity; all of which are tied to morality. These are non-debatable. So, when someone brings up the argument of morally abominable acts not being wrong, I just call bullshyte . Stealing is against the law, so is rape, has nothing to do with morals. You need to understand the difference between morality and legality. - Is it fair/morally right that Senators earn millions while the minimum wage is 18k? - Is the HND/Bsc discrimination fair or morally right - Is it fair/morally right/ justice that the Niger Delta suffers all the consequence of Oil exploration alone but share the money with the whole country? - Are tax laws fair the poor? - Is it fair that a poor man would suffer more than a rich man for the same crime because the rich man can afford the best of lawyers while the poor man can't? |
