PapaBrowne: Custom revenue December 2013----- 85 Billion Naira Converted to Dollars in 2013 at exchange rate of 160---- $531 million.
Custom revenue August 2016-----95 Billion Naira Converted to dollars in 2016 exchange rate of 320------ $296 million.
Why is this government so bent on deceiving the public. The inferiority complex of this government is messing things up badly. Always looking to compare itself with Jonathan's government.
Government collects its money in Naira and spends in Naira. so i don't know why you are converting to dollars...
docadams: Where does Delta state fit in? Too bad we miss out on a lot positive things. But not so when it has to do with vices. I think only God can save my state.
Oh boy, God has moved us to one corner. He has given us everything we need to succeed but we no gree move forward.
S6un: Health care system is different from health centres. Health care system is created by a country with rules, guidelines, specifications to deliver top quality healthcare to the masses. Nigeria unfortunately doesn't have a health care system. To create a health care system, requires joined up national planning. I don't have time to educate you.
You can't educate me because you are not educated. Study the Nigerian constitution and see the powers that state have. My education was expensive, so you are going to have to do better, with fact and figures....
In one of the videos of Nnamdi KANU soliciting for help from Igbos in America, a man challenged him and said, "all politics is local" Everything you have put up there is falacy and falls into the same APC excuse making theory.
1) Nothing stops any state from building world class health centres today so saying you are waiting for Biafra is a lie. 2) Different state governments can create any kind of companies they want, they can woo any investor they want, so the waiting for Biafra is a lie.
Some years back, non Abia indigenes were fired from the state civil service, even Lagos hasn't tried that, yet you believe the South East is one? Or is it the case of Anglican church vs Catholic during Enugu state election? Or the case of the appointment of a bishop in one diocese ( can't remember the name) that is causing issues?
Dude please, the Biafra thing is just an excuse for intellectually lazy people to blame their failures on something/ someone else.
tit: muguns, efcc has to prove she acquired the hotel illegally. she does not have to tell the court anything since Nigerian courts assume she is innocent till efcc convinces us otherwise.
That is the easiest thing to do. Tax certificates, pay slips et al
Erm OP the government said it was going to fund the budget with internal and external borrowing so please show us were(shouldn't be hard to find) Buhari said he wouldn't borrow from the world bank.
Thanks in advance
UPDATE: The below quote was taken from the link the OP posted
Finance Minister Kemi Adeosun told bond investors in London in June that Nigeria was close to securing around $3 billion of funding from the World Bank and African Development Bank.
This guy doesn't understand the real role of banks in an economy.
Banks leverage deposits to create money and credit , that in turn, stimulate and expand the economic activities.
The amount of deposits the banking system has is directly proportional to the amount of money and credit they create to fuel economic expansion.
Draining 4-5℅ of GDP from the banking system at once , for any reasons whatsoever, is unheard of, talkless of doing it in a monoproduct economy at a time economic contraction.
Before the implementation of TSA, did the bank lend out the money? What was the interest rate then?
This is a lazy man's explanation.
The banks got free government funds, then borrowed to the government at 15% and above... Pure day light robbery.
We are in a recession because we have a flawed economy which was driven by free oil money.
Most of the people saying good idea have no idea of economy and should please never comment on the economy again.
Aviation is a capital intensive venture in which we don't even have the expertise, we should be conserving scarce foreign exchange not spending it on unproductive ventures.
If the Governor wants to pursue a PPP enterprise in the transportation, he should call Innoson.
adconline: Common sense dictates that if u merge 3 ministries into 1, over cost of hiring PAs, SAs, aides and political advisers will reduce, but career civil servants remain, but in APC case, cost of governance went up by over 60% even though it merged or reduced ministries by 50% and at no time did federal workforce increase by 50%. Budget of N4tn in 2015 was used to pay federal workforce, but budget of N6tb in 2016 is being used to pay the same workforce even though ministries were reduced from 30something to 18? How come we are paying more without any salary increment or new hiring??
You do know most aides are taken from the civil service right? Also the whole budget is not used for salary payments, there are things such as capital projects and learn servicing in the budget.
adconline: So the primary goal of merging 3 ministries into one was to compensate party loyalists and financiers like Amechi and Fashola with plum and juicy portfolios?? You merged ministries, you personal and overhead costs went up instead of down?? So companies merge to decrease their operational cost and improve profit, APC merges ministries to increase cost of governance!
1) Companies don't have laws that state that they must have directors from all states all the Federation. 2) Civil service rules means you can't just fire workers anyhow. I you like, merger all ministries into one, you'd still have the same workers as before unless you want to retire a majority with full benefits.
Pidggin: The only evil being in the story is the father who abandoned his kids for over 30 years. This means he wasn't there when they were sick, he wasn't there when they were going through uncertainties, he wasn't there while they were teenagers, he wasn't there...
She can't take her son's corpse to his father's compound because the dad is more or less a stranger to his kids. There's no point explaining this to you as it appears you may not have the capacity to understand.
You can live in your cocoon as long as you like my dear, Stella Oduah has buried her son in her father's compound, if you are not ready to go and remove the corpse and transfer it his father's compound, I suggest you sponsor a bill against her action or you take the matter to court
How do you know the father abandoned his kids?
The story says the marriage ended over 30 years ago, yet the dead person is not even 30. There are at least 8 different versions of the story and it would be wise not to judge until you hear all versions.
adconline: Google is ur best friend! So Fashola is the minister of three ministries with the same number of aides, PAS, and workers as he would have had if all the ministries weren't merged?
1) No worker(aside from ghosts) was fired from the any of the ministries, at best the redundant ones were redeployed. 2) For each of those ministries, Fashola would have a special adviser for the various sub heads/departments/whatever they are called officially. Fashola definitely has more aides than the regular minister.
adconline: Naija didn't start existing since last year. Previous years CAPEX was above 30% when budget was about N4tn with exchange rate of less than N150. Ministries were reduced by 50% and RECEX was still increased. Presidency budget went from N6.6bn in 2015 to N39bn in 2016. Most importantly, it's pure profligacy to borrow 60% of ur budget to finance recurring expenditure.
Ministries weren't "reduced", minsters were. Those workers still correct salary. I can't remember a time CAPEX was above 30%.
adconline: Not true. You are not reading deeper, higher than last year but not all other years. Mind you they increased the budget by 50% from N4tn to N6tn and still capped capex at 30%. Also ministers and aides came out to say that they would only implement CAPEX by 15%.
50% of 1.8 T is still more than CAPEX of last year.
