National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu has sought for the support of the APC Senate Caucus towards actualising his 2023 presidential ambition. Tinubu said this when he met with the APC Senate Caucus at the Senate President’s Conference Room on Wednesday, March 16, in Abuja, adding that he was at the Senate for counsel, partnership and support. “Nigerians have come to that stage where we need a change of baton. President Muhammadu Buhari is about to serve his second term in full. “Election is coming up in February. I can’t do it by myself and I can’t do it by sitting at home expecting that many friends I have here will do it for me. “I believe jointly we can do it. You can back me successfully for the nomination of my lifetime ambition to become the president. “My ambition is not blind to the extent I will step on the toes of the President. I just want to step into his shoe and not on his toe,” Tinubu said. He said that if the counsel of wise men was anything to go by, “I’m asking for that teammanship here today to get me over the hump of the nomination process. “And from that hump, to get me to the presidency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. “Look at my capacity. I am an unusual candidate. Perhaps the only one who had been in the Senate, who had been a governor and aspiring to become president”. He said that Nigeria will remain united if he was elected president and “we will use that unity, the symbol of our party to cleanse Nigeria of unrealisable potential.” The national leader also commended the Senate for the passage of the Constitution Alteration Bill. https://newsroundtheclock.com/tinubu-courts-apc-senators-support-on-2023-presidential-ambition/

The Buhari Media Organisation on Tuesday, March 15, stated that President Muhammadu Buhari was right in describing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as a haven for mismanagement and corruption, arrogance of power and self-aggrandisement. According to the group, attempts by the former ruling party to make itself look good in the eyes of the public is only self-serving and akin to ‘campaigning after the election’. The group said in a statement signed by its Chairman Niyi Akinsiju and Secretary Cassidy Madueke, that there are enough facts on the ground to show that the President was accurate in his description of the party. “We find it funny that the new PDP leadership again attempted to rewrite history in its response to the President’s rather apt description of 16 years of the party’s catastrophic rule. “Here is a party that was so consumed with power that its leaders arrogantly told Nigerians that they would be in office forever. So President Buhari was right in admonishing members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to desist from the rambunctious behaviour that consumed PDP. “It is indeed sad that inspite of suffering two consecutive electoral losses, the former ruling party is still arrogant enough to declare that it handed over a robust economy in 2015 when all Nigerians were witnesses to the unprecedented and unfortunate situation of 27 States being unable to pay workers salaries and retirees’ pensions inspite of trillions of naira in oil revenue. https://newsroundtheclock.com/pdp-haven-of-mismanagement-corruption-pro-buhari-group/

He was born on the 14th of June 1941 in Ado-Ekiti the Ekiti State capital to Sir. Rufai Adeyemo & Princess Adebolarin Agunsoye. His ravenous thirst for knowledge led to his reversion to Islam from Catholicism. This trait imbibed a sense of fairness and justice in the late Alhaji Adeyemo. Who became a politician early in his career, joining the Western region campaign of Egbe Omo Oduduwa; founded by Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo. He was also a frontline member of the Action Group which later metamorphosed into the Unity Party of Nigeria. Political Life of Abdul Azeez Kolawole Adeyemo The late Alhaji Adeyemo played a huge role in the agitation for return to democracy in the truncated third republic; which witnessed the annulment of the June 12, 1993 elections, by former military head of state, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. In an election adjudged by international observers, to be the freest in the nation’s history and was won by the late MKO Abiola. One of the traits most managers imbibe in a cutthroat capitalist world is to say that their team is “like a family.” They’ll welcome people to the company family or say that we’re all one big happy family here. Their intentions aren’t all bad. They’re trying to foster a culture of empathy, loyalty, and trust. They want to instill a sense of belonging with their people. Yet your company’s not your family. And it’s important to remember that. When CEOs promote the family mentality, they’re trying to instill a sense of loyalty to the organization. If someone in your family’s in trouble, you don’t think twice about helping them. If this becomes the workplace culture, it pushes people to put in more time and effort whenever the company needs it. If your boss asks you to change your schedule at the last minute or work late, you need to support. After all, that’s what families do. If your company needs you to cut short your vacation, you’re doing it for your family. It’s a clear recipe for exploitation and burnout. This loyalty also tends to be one-sided. Your boss is happy to promote it as long as you’re sacrificing more for the company’s bottom line. Yet the moment he needs to let you go for the good of the company, no one’s talking about family relationships. You’re a family as long as it’s convenient for management. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. A healthy level of accountability is good. If we want to work in high-performing organizations, we need clear performance expectations and consequences. None of this means you shouldn’t care for the people you work with or go out of your way to help them. You should. Just as they would for you. We can all be kind, respectful, and empathetic with our colleagues without branding them as family members. Reed Hastings described Netflix as “at team, not a family,” in his famous presentation on the company culture. He said, “Netflix leaders hire, develop and cut smartly, so we have stars in every position.” A great team is united around a common mission. Each player understands their role and the expectations that go with it. There are shared goals, sacrifice, and belonging, all coupled with a strong sense of accountability. https://newsroundtheclock.com/on-loyalty-managers-and-the-facade-of-family/

The Federal Government (FG) has reiterated its resolve to end banditry and other crimes in the northwest geo-political zone. This was stated on Thursday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Mr Boss Mustapha, on Thursday in Kaduna during a keynote address at a two-day stakeholders’ engagement on current security challenges in the zone. The address was delivered on his behalf by Mr David Attah, Director, Special Services at the SGF office. Attah said that tackling insecurity was one of the three priority areas of the FG which had been working assiduously to reduce it to the barest minimum. “We will not rest until peace; order and public safety are fully restored in our country. “Nigeria has been grappling with a number of security challenges that have resulted in loss of valuable lives and displacement of several people as well as destruction of property worth billions of naira,’’ he said. He noted that as part of efforts to tackle the menace, the FG increased budgetary allocation to security apparatuses including the military. “Similarly, government granted approval for the recruitment of 10,000 police personnel for three consecutive years while salaries of those already in service were increased to boost morale, enhance productivity and elicit hard work,’’ he said. He noted that security situation had improved across the country. “Insurgents in the northeast have been decimated considerably. “More than 30,000 insurgents and their families have surrendered and the threats of separatists in the southeast and parts of South-South have reduced in traction. “In the maritime domain, our waters are now calm and we no longer receive reports of daily attacks by pirates,’’ Attah said. He urged traditional institutions, religious organisations, civil society, trade unions, security personnel, individuals and organisations to cooperate in the fight against insecurity. https://newsroundtheclock.com/fg-committed-to-eliminating-banditry-terrorism/

While noting that the driver of the BRT bus involved in this unfortunate incident has been arrested, the governor said Lagos Bus Service Ltd has been directed to cooperate with security agencies in their investigations, so that the full weight of the law is brought down on all involved in this ugly incident. There are ongoing arguments on social media about the role of Nollywood in promoting promiscuity in the country. In recent months, the Nigerian economy has nosedived amongst other nefarious incidents; fuel scarcity, poor power supply, underemployment, the list is endless. While the embattled Nigerian populace is blaming the government; another sect of people are blaming the Nigerian entertainment industry for failing to enlighten the populace about the ideal lessons of life. It is time we call out the Nigerian movie industry, Nollywood. We should hold them accountable for failing unravel real life lessons to their viewers. Earlier in the week, the microblogging site, Twitter was set ablaze after the video of Instagram influencer, Ada La Pinky real name Ada Ebere aired online. During the session, Ada La Pinky was speaking about why women are entitled to a man’s funds after dates. Speaking during the session, Ada La Pinky said paying a makeup artist to get her ready and also trying out different dresses, wearing an expensive wig, and then going to the venue. The social media influencer said it’s only proper that the date gives her some money to appreciate her efforts. “I always expect, ‘oh, it was nice meeting you o, just take’,” Ada La Pinky said. The host then asked if this means that women now go on dates just to make money and the other lady responded that being fine requires money. “No, it’s not about making money. Do you know the cost of being a fine girl in Lagos? It’s expensive,” the lady said. A time to call out the movie industry for promoting ‘gimme gimme’ mentality Nigerian movies should desist from interpreting love as going shopping and buying houses for the mother of a girl who an actor initiates his interest in a lady a scene prior. The extrapolating storylines of a village girl from a poor background meeting a wealthy man from Lagos State and Abuja has become stale, boring and nonsensical. There is an unwritten law in Nollywood that states should you meet a babe in scene 1; by scene 2 you are taking her shopping and showing her you’re the ‘real man’. It is time for these storylines to take a break. This ideology should be defenestrated with immediate effect. These storylines have done more harm than good; as a matter of fact, these storylines are gauntlet to the Nigerian society. First, we read stories about men who have taken their lives due to heartbreak after investing heavily in women whom they perceive as potential life partners. We have seen men get double-crossed by bringing up children who are not their own. Also, we have read about women killing sugar daddies or their sponsors out of greed. Despite buying them the world; sponsoring their Dubai trips; gifting them new vehicles and whatnot. https://newsroundtheclock.com/nollywood-how-the-nigerian-movie-industry-aided-in-promoting-sense-of-entitlement/

Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe speaks about the rumors that she got married to her new husband, Kazim Adeoti for money. According to Aigbe, she was already a well-to-do actress before she decided to walk down the aisle with Adeoti. “I am not poor to start with. I work very hard, and I wonder why people don’t see my hard work. I’m one of the most misunderstood people. I work so hard and hardly sleep. I have assets—my child is abroad and I pay school fees in dollars. I change naira to dollars, and I have been doing that before I got married. I don’t know how people got that notion that I married because of money,” she said. “It is not like he is poor, I’m also rich. I’m extremely comfortable to God’s glory. I married him because I love him, not because of money. I married him because he is my best friend. He gives me peace; he makes me happy. I didn’t marry him because of money, in fact, I’m working for him because we are business partners.” Aigbe said they complement each other and at such wouldn’t describe herself as a gold digger. “We complement each other, so I also brought something to the table—it’s not like I just walked into the relationship without any value. I’m not a gold-digger, I work hard for my money. All those influencing jobs you see me do, I charge huge sums of money—and my store is also the most followed on Instagram, so I make a lot of money from that too,” she added. “I have over 10 million followers on Instagram and have been doing business for years. I am the first set of people that made so much money from influencing before it became very common and we made a lot of money. People are always judgmental; they don’t know the true picture.” Kazim said he has been friends with Aigbe for over ten years as business partners before they started dating. Rumour has it that Aigbe ended Kazim’s already existing marriage “My family resides in the US, and I shuttle between Nigeria and the US because my business is here in Nigeria. If people say we are separated, maybe it’s because my family is not here with me in Nigeria. https://newsroundtheclock.com/i-didnt-marry-my-husband-because-of-money-mercy-aigbe-addresses-the-public/
