The Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, on Monday appealed to Lagos residents to protect road drains and other infrastructure from all forms of abuse and damage. Fashola made the appeal during an inspection tour of the ongoing Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki Expressway reconstruction project in Lagos. He said Nigerians should take ownership of the Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki Expressway and other projects, and put a stop to all forms of road abuse. The minister decried dumping of refuse in drains of the ongoing project and others across the state, soliciting the support of residents on proper refuse disposal. Fashola said the federal government was including beautification to the Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki road construction project, as part of measures towards protection of Lagos bridges. He said people carried out various forms of businesses and activities under the bridges that caused fire and various other degrees of damage to the infrastructure because they saw unmanned areas and occupied them. Fashola said beautification was included in the Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki Expressway project to both provide aesthetics and protection for the road, bridges and the environment. While inspecting the beautification under the Liverpool Bridge in Apapa, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos Mr Olukayode Popoola, briefed the minister on progress of work towards construction of a recreation/relaxation facility under the bridge. Popoola, alongside a consultant, explained how the design accommodated concrete stalls for a fish market where people come straight from the jetty.NAN reports that the Liverpool Round About/bridge is the beginning of the Apapa-Oshodi-Ojota-Oworonshoki Expressway reconstruction project. https://newsroundtheclock.com/fashola-blasts-nigerians-over-infrastructure-abuse/

After several criticism and talks, President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday, February 26 assented to the 2022 electoral Act. It can be said that first hurdle of having a credible elction in Nigeria has been crossed. Nigeria have a society with over 70 percent youths that never believ in the elctroal system. BViut with the latest development, it is belived that it will renew the hope of the electorates whpo all want their votes to count. Meanwhile, after President Buhari signed the law at exactly 12:55pm on Friday, there are some observation noted by him, calling on th House of Assembly to make some amendment in the law. Thus, it can be said the law will only be effective once the National Assembly accede to the request. This is for the senior lawyers to debate on as Nigerians need further education. But from a layman’s angle, if a President signed a bill, it becomes law immediately it is assented to. Thus, the responsibility now behoves on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to implement the latest law ahead of the Ekiti and Osun State Gubernatorial election. The elections in these states are expected to be a test run of the electronic transmission of the result. From there, further loopholes or the challnges that will come with the process will also be identified. ‘It is time to go get your PVC’ Now that the call of many Nigerians have been heard, it now behoves on those without the Permanent Voters Card (PVC) to go get theirs as the process of making their vote count has been kickstarted. Also, Nigerians will need more education on the latest amendment as soon as the bill is available for public scrutiny. https://newsroundtheclock.com/electoral-act-2022-whats-next-after-president-buhari-signs/

Social media has created a platform where people of various age groups can be innovative and comprehensive in promoting themselves, their businesses and other artistic ventures. Despite the opportunities created by social media; most women have preferred to use the platform to promote promiscuity and undermining content. Let us discuss women in their 30’s and the use of social media. At the age of 30; it pointless for a grown woman to still to be dancing half-naked on Tik Tok and posting raunchy photos on social media for male validation and people’s approval. It is needless. You are not a teenager going through puberty stage anymore; you’re a grown adult who should not only be in charge of your hormones and emotions; but also serve as a role model and an influencer to the emerging coterie of women. You don’t have to be married neither should you be a mum at 30; but endeavour to develop a form of self-respect and stop competing with teenage girls and women in their 20s for relevance. Your aim and objective with life should be much broader and meaningful. No amount of comments; likes and thirsty validations from onlookers can bring that inner essence that you seek. You are not 18 anymore, you were sleezeballed in your 20s; in your 30s, you should see how you can aid the economy of the state; you should be indulging yourself with more realistic programs and events that are definite. Dancing here and there on Tik Tok with only handkerchief on your chest would give you the 15-minutes of fame that you desire, albeit that’s all you’ll ever be, ‘a flash in the pan’. https://newsroundtheclock.com/social-media-and-women-in-their-30s/

Former Governor of Kano State, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has revealed that the appalling state of the economy, wrought by years of maladministration by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) led to the formation of The National Movement. Kwankwaso made this disclosure on Thursday during a live interview on Arise TV ‘The Morning Show’ monitored by Ripples Nigeria. Other politicians behind the formation of the new political group include former Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Solomon Dalung, and a member of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s campaign organization in the 2019 presidential election, Buba Galadima. In his address during the launch of the TNM at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Tuesday, the former governor declared that the new political group would seize power from the APC in 2023. He stressed that the TNM was set to battle for the soul of Nigeria from the hands of APC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Speaking further on Thursday, his Kwankwaso bemoaned the poor performances of both parties which led to some concerned stakeholders brainstorming on the way out of the situation. “I was with the PDP under whose platform I governed Kano State in two tenures and the problem with the party then led some of us to join the APC to wrestle power from the PDP which we did. “Unfortunately, the change we sought was not in the interest of the people which led to the formation of this movement. “I defected to the PDP and we tried to convince the party to do the right thing by ensuring good management; even advising the APC on good governance to no avail. “This led many of our colleagues to brainstorm on the way forward bringing something new to the table in order to harness the development of the country. “Check the performances of the PDP and the APC and we came to the conclusion that things have to change which led to the formation of the National Movement. We are working not for our individual selves but for our country too. “The current situation has led to voters’ apathy due to the disinterest by the populace due to what is happening.” https://newsroundtheclock.com/kwankwaso-gives-reasons-for-formation-of-third-force/

President Muhammadu Buhari says his administration has embarked on prioritising the construction of projects to ameliorate hardship across the country. The President said this on Tuesday at the State House when he hosted a delegation from Kaduna State led by the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Ahmed Bamalli, and Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe. Buhari said that the intervention on the Lagos-Ibadan route with completion of road and rail lines had improved the traffic significantly. “My objective was very clear, despite the dwindling resources, I wanted to deal with infrastructure across the country. “We should look at advancement in terms of infrastructure. No country can advance without infrastructure. There used to be railways, especially people from Southern Kaduna will remember this. “Which country can really advance without road, rail and power that’s why I wanted to sort out infrastructure. “I know that Nigerians are competitive by nature and they will face their businesses when there is road, rail and power,’’ Buhari said. Buhari said the challenge of commuting in the South West had been improved with the rehabilitation of the transport infrastructure. “The people from South West can tell better because between Lagos and Ibadan by now, if we hadn’t done what we did, people would have been trekking. “This is because the road was not there, the rail was not there and there was so much insecurity. “But we thank the international community. We thank China and Chinese investors who came along to support the Lagos-Ibadan transport projects,’’ he said. Buhari assured that the construction and rehabilitation of infrastructure which include the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano express road, being handled by Julius Berger would be sustained. The president commended Gov. Nasir el-Rufai of Kaduna State, for the transformation of the state, with growing infrastructure and socio-economic projects. “Please extend my gratitude to the governor for doing so well. I have been living in Kaduna for many years before I came here.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed says it plans to inaugurate a national sensitisation campaign against ritual murders soon. Lai Mohammed said this on Monday in Abuja when he paid official visit to the headquarters of Daily Trust Newspaper. According to him, the government is concerned over the rising cases of ritual murders by unscrupulous people, most of them very young, who are seeking to get rich at all cost. “For those who may still be in doubt, ritual killings have assumed a worrisome dimension in recent years. According to an NGO, Foundation for Partnership Initiatives in the Niger Delta (PIND), 150 women and girls have been killed for ritual purposes between Jan. 2018 and Dec. 2021. “Recently, in Ogun State, four young men, one of whom is 18 years old, murdered their 20-year-old female friend for money rituals. “One of them said they learnt about using human parts for money rituals from social media. “Of course, you are also aware of a case involving a female student of the University of Jos who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend for ritual purposes,’’ he said. In raising national awareness on the scourge, Lai said the National Orientation Agency (NOA), was already partnering with religious and traditional organisations as well as Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs). He said the body would forge behavioural change, especially among the youth, some of whom were afflicted by the get-rich-quick syndrome. The minister noted that some had blamed Nollywood for the scourge for featuring money rituals in some of its movies which negatively influenced the vulnerable youth. To mitigate this, Lai said he had directed the National Film and Video Censors Board to take the issue into consideration while performing its role of censoring and classifying films and videos. https://newsroundtheclock.com/lai-information-minister-reveals-fgs-plan-to-curb-ritual-killings/

The Minister of Interior Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has reacted to the outcome of the Osun state primary election of the All Progressives Congress. The incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola emerged winner. Aregbesola also lost his ward in the poll to Governor Gboyega Oyetola. It was gathered that the former Osun governor was absent at his Ifofin Ward 8, Ilesa East Local Government for the exercise on Saturday. Oyetola won in Aregbesola’s ward with 309 votes against 146 recorded for Moshood Adeoti, the candidate anointed by the Minister. Aregbesola via a statement by his media’s aide, Sola Fasure, claimed results of the governorship primary were “farcically counted in favour of the Governor.” “On behalf of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, I will like to thank you most sincerely for heeding the call earlier this morning to participate in our party’s governorship primary and conduct yourselves most peacefully. You adopted a non-violent posture, even in the face of sore provocation. “You have demonstrated your loyalty to the party and democratic ideals. You have comported yourselves as Omoluabi in the true essence. “We have received and continue to receive the reports of the shenanigans of the officials who conducted the sham of an election. “We have been inundated with reports state-wide of how your names were expunged from the party’s voters register, which was not made available until this morning, contrary to the convention of making the list available to the candidates before the election. We have heard of how party registration cards were being hawked this morning to the supporters of the state Governor.”We have also received reports of how accreditation was not done at all in many wards and how people without the party identification just participated and queued behind the governor in many polling units. “We have received the report from our members and independent observers, how government officials and notable supporters of the governor officiated in the election, how votes were farcically counted in favour of the governor and how the votes recorded for him were more than the number of voters accredited ab initio in many units. “We have heard of the absence of result sheets and other vital documents for recording results and vital data. We note also the absence of INEC officials in most wards, casting serious doubt on the credibility of the election. “We note with shame and much regret the consternation of local and international observers on what they regard as a travesty of an election.”: While urging the party members to maintain peace and be calm, he said they shouldn’t downcast or agitated. https://newsroundtheclock.com/osun-primary-results-were-counted-in-favour-of-oyetola-aregbesola/

On Saturday, February 19, Nigerians on the microblogging site, Twitter joined the #Breakfaststories trend. Specifically, the #Breakfaststories trend was established to aid individuals who are currently going through a tumultuous phase in their respective relationships to share their burden with others. Several of the tweets are relatable while some were written to make netizens laugh (or they were just fabricated for clout). Equally, the term ‘breakfast’ is a pseudonym for heartbreak or disappointment in a relationship. It became prevalent on social media after a scene from a movie where veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan popularly known as Ogogo was talking another character. The veteran actor stated that ‘breakfast’ can be served in the morning and various forms, including heartbreak. Speaking in his native Yoruba language, Ogogo had this to say; “We will all eat breakfast. It is the timeframe that we will consume it that differs.” Since the meme went viral on social media, netizens have affiliated the term ‘heartbreak’ with breakfast. On Saturday night, social media users spoke about how they were hurt by someone whom they loved intensely. Further, a couple of netizens expressed what they cannot condone in relationships and the ideal ways to end a relationship. https://newsroundtheclock.com/breakfaststories-nigerians-narrate-experiences-with-heartbreak-on-twitter/

Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau of the G-7 APC faction, has accused the national headquarters of the party of being unfair, unjust and irrational. Shekarau made this accusation in an interview on Friday, after the party issued the returning certificate to the Governor Ganduje factional APC Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, few minutes after the Court of Appeal nullified their earlier Federal High Court’s victory. According to him, the act was ufair with the party issuing a certificate of return to the Governor Abdullahi Ganduje-led faction immediately after the Appeal Court judgement despite the faction having two court rulings for over two months without the party recognizing their court order. The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Thursday, dismissed the judgment of a lower court, which upheld the parallel congresses of APC conducted by the G-7 faction of the party led by Shekarau. Leader of the G7, Shekarau, while reacting to the Appeal Court’s ruling in Kano, lamented that despite his faction always expressing readiness for true reconciliation and respect to the party national hierarchy, they were unjustly treated by issuing the Ganduje-led factional Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas certificate recognising him as authentic leader of the party executives in the state. https://newsroundtheclock.com/shekarau-accuses-apc-leadership-of-injustice-after-losing-appeal-case-to-ganduje/

During his Instagram live session on Thursday February 17, Seun Kuti mentioned that the Nigerian movie industry, otherwise known as Nollywood is responsible for propagating the notion that people can make money by using other people for sacrifice. Seun Kuti wrote; “99 percent of the wealth in the country is earned by sacrificing the lives and destinies of millions of Nigerians; that is the real money ritual!! You think say na ordinary eye dey make Dangote trailer no get brake? Then smash children to death? Abi na ordinary eye building dey take collapse crush children to death for school? Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has accused a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Raymond Dokpesi of sabotaging the party’s chances ahead of the 2023 elections. Wike made this allegation on Thursday during a meeting with stakeholders in Port Harcourt, noting that some PDP Governors have been inundated with calls following a text message being peddled by Chief Dokpesi that some governors had embarked on a weeklong trip to Europe to determine those who will be the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the party in 2023. “I have always said to people in PDP, nobody should cause a division among the governors. We are trying as much as we can to build the party back and see that in 2023 PDP takes over governance. But, I have some suspicion that people like Raymond Dokpesi are not really sincere to the Peoples Democratic Party and I think , I’m convinced that Raymond Dokpesi appears to be working for APC. “I don’t understand where Raymond Dokpesi gets this information, this rumour that governors travelled to Europe to decide who will be the presidential candidate and vice presidential candidate of PDP. I wonder why governors will travel to Europe to take such a decision,” Wike said. The governor said while he and his colleagues don’t have anything against Chief Raymond Dokpesi campaigning for the 2019 PDP presidential candidate and former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, he should be circumspect and desist from causing mayhem in the party. “I’ve told Raymond Dokpesi that there is nothing wrong with you preaching for the candidature of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Waziri of Adamawa , a very experienced man, an intelligent man, a strategist. But don’t destroy other people because of this. Because when you destroy them it will be difficult for PDP to win election in 2023.” Wike implored Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who he described as a well known political strategist to rein in Chief Dokpesi from spreading dangerous rumours capable to polarising stakeholders in the party. Governor Wike noted that in 2019, PDP governors, without the prompting of Dokpesi rallied round Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and will do so again if he picks the party’s presidential ticket. https://newsroundtheclock.com/wike-accuses-dokpesi-of-sabotaging-pdps-chances-ahead-of-2023-election/

Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has opined that abortion is a sin. According to Reno Omokri, abortion is worse than murder. He made this known on his Instagram platform on Thursday. The social media commentator and former presidential aide had this to say; ”Abortion is a sin, according to Scripture. It is the taking of human life. Exodus 21:22-23 plainly describes an unborn foetus as a human life and that any man who causes a pregnant woman to lose her foetus is guilty of murder. Ordinarily I would not want to comment on this, but I have been bombarded by people whose faiths are being undermined. The only time I ever publicly disagree with a pastor is when people’s faith are undermined. Abortion is not compatible with Christ following. That is why I teach against premarital and extramarital sex. But if you have done it and get pregnant, don’t turn one weakness into two wickedness’s!” He continued; “Abortion is even worse than murder. Because most murderers murder someone who they feel has wronged them. While that is not exculpatory, we can see how that can be a human weakness. But why kill an unborn foetus that has not offended you or anyone? Premarital and extramarital sex are sinful and wrong. However, if you want to have premarital sex, or even marital sex, without getting pregnant, using protection is better than abortion later. But that protection must not be for the purpose of avoiding your responsibility-Genesis 38:9-10.” His concluding paragraph reads; https://newsroundtheclock.com/reno-omokri-says-abortion-is-a-sin/

The House of Reps on Wednesday, February 16, commenced an investigation into the activities of the Interior Ministry headed by Rauf Aregbesola. This probe was spearheaded by the Speaker of Reps, Femi Gbajabiamila who presided over the plenary on Wednesday where it was decided that Mr Aregbesola and prisons chief Haliru Nababa should be probed for mismanaging up to N165 billion in funds earmarked for prisons development across the country. The resolution followed a motion of urgent public importance by Ndudi Elumelu, the minority leader of the House of Reps on the floor of the House on Wednesday in Abuja. In his argument, Mr Elumelu criticised the welfare of the workforce. “The House of Reps is disturbed that despite this Act and increase in budgetary allocations to the Nigerian Correctional Service to drive its renewed mandate, the tempo and quality of the Service have remained the same if not retrogressing,” Mr Elumelu said. “The House is worried that the working conditions of Staff and inmates’ welfare have deteriorated notwithstanding the over N165 billion budget allocations to the Service in the last two years.” The Reps resolved to have its committee on Reformatory Institutions investigate the allegations and report to the House within 12 weeks for further legislative action. The move comes as Aregbesola and Tinubu are slugging it out publicly over the power tussle in Osun state. Mr Aregbesola was at a political rally where Mr Tinubu was severely derided, including being mocked over the viral video that many said amounted to public urination on his body. https://newsroundtheclock.com/reps-launch-investigation-into-gbajabiamilas-ministry-over-corruption-claims/

Popular Nollywood actress, Sharon Ooja has explained on her social media platform why she will never publicly flaunt her partner. The actress stated that she will never publish her partner in public due to the messy break up drama between American celebrity couple, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. According to her, she’d not publicise her man because she believed there was no need to seek validation from the world. Ooja continued, “I’ve never been a fan of social media PDA (public display of affection). I’ve always believed that if you are that happy, you don’t need to prove a point to the world. “Do you in peace and be happy genuinely because the same people who hail you for doing the most will be the first to throw stones once it crashes. Sharon Ooja wrote further; “What people don’t know, they can’t hate on. And this Kim and Kanye saga just proved all of this! So damn messy. “Social media is just the actual worst. If not for my work, I know for a fact I’d have been one of the people who won’t be on social media…respectfully. https://newsroundtheclock.com/sharon-ooja-nigerian-actress-says-she-will-never-flaunt-her-man-on-social-media/

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has warned that the current fuel scarcity might last for another two weeks. This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the IPMAN Public Relations Officer, Chief Chinedu Ukadike who said the Federal Government was yet to improve supply. According to him, no inland depot has received clean petrol that would boost supply to filling stations. Ukadike said the challenges facing the downstream sector were enormously urging the government to begin the process of compensating marketers who have lost a lot of money during the period. He explained: “Nothing much has changed in the last few days, the issue is that up till now we have not seen the intervention of the NNPC based on evacuating these products (bad fuel) from some of our stations. Some marketers are trying to see if they can get new products and blend it to see if they can move. “Marketers capitals have been tied down and the bad product is also occupying their storage tank; and that is why you are seeing some skeletal services. Some also have their tanks quarantined, so it is not easy. “We have been expecting products in the inland depots like the Port Harcourt Refinery depot; but up till now, no product has been received. These things happen. Once there is a break in the supply chain it will take some time to fix. Forget what people are saying it will take one-two to three weeks to fill in the gaps. It is talking about evacuating and replacing, it is not just about the shortage, it is also about evacuating and replacing”. The IPMAN spokesman noted that while Port Harcourt where his based has not witnessed the acute shortage being experienced in many parts of the country; he said most of the marketers who have placed orders have not received the supply. https://newsroundtheclock.com/ipman-warns-fuel-scarcity-may-last-another-two-weeks/

The Federal Government has stated that it is not aware of the strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), calling it unwarranted as no notice of strike was received from the leadership of the Union either verbally or in writing to that effect. This was contained in a statement issued on Monday, February 14, by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu, while reacting to the development. Adamu said he was not informed by the ASUU that they were going on strike in the statement issued through the Director, Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mr Ben. Bem Goong. The Minister said the Federal Government has been implementing the agreements reached with the Union. But the National Association of Nigerian Students has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack the Miniter of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu and Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige for failing to resolve the impasse between the ASUU and Federal Government to allow for industrial peace in public universities. The lecturers declared a one-month nationwide warning strike on Monday over the failure of the Federal Government to implement agreements reached with ASUU. President of ASUU, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke announced the strike action at a news conference in Lagos. https://newsroundtheclock.com/ASUU-strike-not-to-our-knowledge-fg-claims/

Modern feminists and liberals has effectively demonised huge age-gaps in romantic relationships with buzzwords such as predator and prey, manipulation, gaslighting and all other modern nonsense. Here’s why I don’t appreciate the noise. I want to know TWO things before I’ll endorse relationships. Two things and two things only. One. Are you both adults? Two. Do you both consent to the relationship? That’s it. That’s all I need to know. Any and all other considerations are yours and yours alone to work out between you. I’ve taken a stand that’s broadly in line with my ‘none of my business’ approach; I don’t care what people do in their own time as long as it doesn’t interfere with my life. I would prefer people to have excellent and balanced relationships based on respect and trust, but I can’t mandate it — and so I won’t. Nonetheless, most of the demonisation of men in relationships makes you think either think adult women are not adults, or you think they’re delicate little creatures that need protecting from the vicissitudes of life. You can’t have it both ways. The reason you can’t have it both ways, because we’re either in the process of empowering women or disempowering them. We can’t empower people to get things right and then disempower them when they Bleep up. You get one or the other, binary choice. People make shit decisions all the time especially in relationships. I have a list of shit decisions made across my life. Some of those things happened because of my inexperience in making said choices plus a total lack of foresight. Some of those choices involved other people and some of those choices involved the machinations and nefarious actions of other people. At the end of each messy situation, there should be a moment of recognition of your own part to play in what unfolded. If you conclude at all times you’re the victim of everything and everyone, you haven’t done a full enough analysis of what transpired. Let me be clear… If you’re an adult looking back at an unhappy time in your life because of a previous relationship with an older partner, you’re absolutely allowed to regret the said relationship. You can absolutely look back and say…. ‘Bleep, that was a bad thing we did’ — but the emphasis must be on the words ‘we did’. Why? Because you are an empowered human and one half of a poor decision-making team. The narrative that has you solely as the victim does you no favours at all. You might’ve been the inexperienced member of the team, the minor partner, you could’ve been swept away by the sheer excitement of it all and not heeded the warnings given to you by others… Provided you consented and you were an adult, getting into the relationship was one thing and one thing only. A shit choice. https://newsroundtheclock.com/enough-of-criticisms-on-huge-age-gap-in-relationships/

Valentine’s Day is a day set aside to celebrate lovers and their admirers across the globe. On Monday, February 14, another Valentine’s Day event is coming up and there is going to be another moment of excitement, and sadness all encompassing on this day. Some noble men of valor will be aiming to propose to their partners. Specifically, I admire men who often go down on their knees to propose to women in public places. You’ll see men propose to women in Shoprite, cinema hall, at the beach, on the Street, etc. Some men go all in. They don’t care, “if I perish, I perish” “If I win, I win, It’s now or never,” they say to themselves. I am not going to lie, the thing about love is that, it can be flaky. One minute you’re like yo I’m about to seal the deal with this beau… I’m about to take this to a whole new level. Like a movie superhero, I’ll be on top of the world if she agrees to marry. And if she says ‘NO’, homeboy you’re about to be ridiculed on Twitter, a story on Instablog. These are some of the pros and cons of proposing to a partner or lover in public… A generation of stoics, you don’t really know what to expect. After you’ve planned and strategized for two months, you now hear ‘NO’. These things happen. Indeed, It’s a dangerous business proposing in public. Reminiscing on a particular Valentine’s Day heartbreak from a couple of years ago, I was at a mall with a friend to grab a cup of ice cream. We were having a cup of ice cream when a well dressed young man decided to pop the question to his soft-looking beau. He wanted to settle his affairs before the year 2020 became hectic. I don’t know how long they’ve been dating as it’s none of my business, but I know I saw them smiling sheepishly. Apparently, something was going on between them. Suddenly, the man went down on his knees to ask for his babes hand in marriage. As expected, everyone started screaming ‘SAY YES’, ‘AWWWN’, ‘OH MY GOD!’ The atmosphere was oozing romance. The babe now started crying and shaking her head for several minutes, at this time the noise in the room has reduced… Something must be wrong somewhere. Is It the ring that is making the girl cry? Or because she’s about to shatter the heart of my homeboy…? https://newsroundtheclock.com/valentines-day-its-a-dangerous-business-proposing-in-public/
