cap28: these are merely symptoms of a corrupt system and do not address the CAUSE of the corruption which was created by the western imperialist system of capitalism which still dicatates your economic and political system, you need to do more research and look at where the problem originated from as opposed to the end result of that problem which you have listed up there.

until nigeria gets out from under the western hegemony of the UNITED STATES AND THE EU there is no hope for nigeria or any other african nation.

the european nations dictate your economic policies via their international financial institutions ie IMF, world bank and the Paris club

they own and control your media- everything your domestic media reports must be authorised by them first, their own media operates freely and without any restrictions in your countries and their news takes precedence over your own news

your educational system is tailored in accordance with their own educational system

you replace your own religious systems with their own - christianity and islam

IN OTHER WORDS YOU ARE A ROBOT OF WESTERN HEGEMONY - YOU HAVE NO MIND OF YOUR OWN AND YOU DO NOT OWN OR CONTROL YOUR OWN NATURAL RESOURCES HOW THEN CAN YOU BE BLAMED FOR THE COLLAPSE OF YOUR OWN SOCIEITIES?
Na wa for u oo...You're just using grammar and long stories to avoid the fact that you have a part to play in this country's situation. Learn to take responsibility for your actions. Don't try to divert the blame. The day you start taking responsiblity for your actions, you start to develop into a better person. You and the person that "Liked" your comment.

As an Architect, I can conclude that that house is Ugly, his love for golden buildings is crass and banana island is overated (The available infrastructure ain't worth it). I would have done a better resolved building complete with trees and landscaping. I'm pissed b'cos its that bad architect that got the Job. Why couldn't he create a "Zaha Hadid" inspired building?? He's got the money.

Symphony007: ;Di see the lagosians are out in full force because i'm calling that baboon face called fashola for what he is. All the alerged development in lagos is a fantasy, a mirage, so no matter how much you quote articles for me you'll never change my view of your crummy little city!! Ok..i'm waiting for the hail of fury for you guys!!
You must really think highly of yourself. Who told u they are tryin to change how you feel?? What do u have to offer?? Except criticism?? Who gives a sh*t what u think??. Symphony007: ok. Please continue educating me about why cictoria island gets flooded when it rain according to you it's because it's beneath sea level so why is'nt lower manhattan also flooded after rain?
I guess Victoria Island is the only location that gets flooded in the world. Don't you watch CNN??...Pls, stop exposing your ignorance on NL.
Politics › Re: 2012 Lagos Countdown: Biggest New Year's Eve Party In Africa by ba7man(m): 7:56am On Dec 28, 2012
Symphony007: that was quite a lovely write up but ridden with massive loopholes. You claim 70% of lagos has good roads? Why does victoria island, home to many multinationals get flooded at the slightest rain fall? I guess you've forgotten so soon the rainfall of about a year ago when lagos was almost submerged in water and due to the choas the govt. Had to declare a public holiday the following day. Also you i never said lagos did'nt have an educated work force they do. But it's low. And most of them unqualified. Your corporate tax explanation was just all over the place because i need u to explain to me why a city like abia will have the same tax rate as lagos, abuja or port harcourt. Lastly you did'nt address the tout tax collectors who are killing small buisnesses all over the city of lagos.
Dude, you don't reside in Lagos so shut up!!!...My friend i intend seeing today works at the Lagos state internal revenue service and he's a graduate. He has his masters degree in the UK and he wears suits to go visit corporations and companies to encourage them to pay their tax i.e Collect tax. The touts you talk about only exist in the NURTW and the Governor has watered down their activities, he plans on making them extinct soon. What dumb Symphony is playing in your head?? You definitely don't think like James Bond.
What is it with some folks who dont go anywhere outside Lagos and they think Lagos is Nigeria?!

Have you been to Edo State, for your information, oshiomole is working in almost major cities(if not all) at the same time. So he isnt working in Benin alone. Plus the fact that there where no roads, school buildings, and other infrastructure before he entered office. Fashola have most of these structures in place "almost before he was born!", I mean he didnt move a pin for most of them! He was brought in to "maintain" most of them and he is busy creating anti-people policies for some he actually worked on. Get your facts straight bro!
As a matter of fact, I was in Benin a couple of months back, saw the road rehabilitation and expansion works and I can say its on the same scale as the works done in Surulere alone. There is no possible way you can compare Edo-State and Lagos State....No possible way.
Politics › Re: If You Were To Be Nigeria President, What Would You Do To Make Nigeria Better? by ba7man(m): 1:29pm On Dec 27, 2012
A group of top corrupt people have to be sacrificed to pass a point to others. If i can't get trusted people in the Government to carry it out, I'll reach out to the Israeli Mossad to make them look like accidents. With them removed i can now take a tough stand on corruption. Its too much in this country.

Don't know how accurate my info is but the fact that he bought all Mo-Hit members flashy new cars after his GEJ election campaign windfall means that he had a free mind towards the whole crew. He also had the "Star Quality" that reflected off the rest. I guess it must have been bizness decisions that caused their seperation. Dbanj wanting to go international and Don Jazzy, wanting to dominate Nigeria and Africa instead.

They keep opening these threads asking for pictures...they provide them with pics and they claim they're not seeing anything. Are they blind??..

I was thinking they were on-to somthing till they started mentioning UYO as an example of a working environment. Why won't it work? When you spend 40billion on developing an area barely larger than Ketu. They're now questioning a man spending less to run one of the most populated States in the world.

If only these guys will use their time to question their own Governors and stop worrying bout Fashola, Nigeria would get better. Classic example of the black man's "Pull me down syndrome". By the time they look up Lagos and the West would have been so far gone they'll need visas to get in.
One would think the ACN apologists would show pictures of development to dispute the points by theLastPope but nay, they do what they have being taught best to do, being vulgar!

I have lived in Benin and Lagos and have being to other states where there is developments but I can categorically say Fashola is a hype!

It is not about being a PDP apologist because Oshiomole, another ACN governor, has been called a performer by everyone!
Like I said earlier, I lived in Benin for many years and also shuffling Lagos. I'm based in Lagos for some years and I'm yet to see what these guys hail Fashola for. The real projects I can commend Fashola for are mostly PPP, funded by the private sector!

Fashola has repeatedly promote anti-masses policies, from education, transportation, health care etc.

I would say Fashola is an average governor, he is not in the class of governors like Akpabio, Duke, the late Yar' Adua, Oshiomole to name a few.
Let me punch a hole in your logic. Benin is a City, Lagos is a state. Compare Benin to Ikeja as they are both Capitals. Can you see they aint in the same league. Are u all BLINDhuh Aren't you tired of seeing pictures?? @Babapupa kept posting pics on one of these smear threads and you all keep saying you're not seeing pictures. Go and google the pics up if you really keen on seein his acheivements or sit down in Benin and leave Lagos alone.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 3:15pm On Dec 26, 2012
If Lagos receives 2 more Governors like Fashola, Lagos can kiss Nigeria goodbye. Its already ahead nd the rest can only scream, moan and point fingers. I even want this country divided so we can all face our bizness.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 2:50pm On Dec 26, 2012
Ashmark: Fashola has really performed great in Lagos State but let me tell you not in anyway compared to what Akpabio has done in Akwa Ibom...I was fortunate to be their last month..But I thing that I notice is that it's only Uyo dt is dvelopd in Akwa-Ibom nd smal part of Ikot Ekpenne..Bt in terms of good road network,Akwa Ibom is d best..They're oil producin state so dnt really get surprise.
Thank you, Its like Fashola working on only Ikeja and we screamin that he's done a good job. They forget the numerous locations bigger than Uyo all joined together to make up Lagos. Victoria Island, Ikoyi, Lekki, Lagos island,Apapa, Ikeja, Oshodi etc...all as big as or bigger than Uyo and his effect is felt all over those places. Una wan kill d guy?? Even with Tinubu breathing down his neck.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 2:42pm On Dec 26, 2012
And pls stop comparing Akwa-Ibom to Lagos b'cos they aint in d same League. Ukpabio's effect is highly felt in Uyo which is barely as big as Ikeja. Mean while u forget there are no bush lined express roads in Lagos since its fully developed. Let's say d developed areas in Lagos are for example 400Km sqr, The total area of development in Akwa-Ibom can't be more than 120km sqr. And they collect N40billion while Lagos gets 30billion. Nigerians deserve the Leaders they get, instead of questioning their leaders the poke their eyes in other people's bizness.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 2:25pm On Dec 26, 2012
talktimi: . Point taken but you seem not to understand where I'm coming from. I'm not comparing the state of roads btw the two states, I said Akpabio is also a performer compared with Victor Attah the former governor who performed miserably in Akwa Ibom. So Akpabio should be on the same par with Fashola if not higher because of the humongous task he met and the fact that he had to practically build the state capital for example from scratch but you've made your point. Thank you
Akpabio transformed the state Capital of UYO....Fashola is transforming the whole state of Lagos. And i hope you're aware that you can't compare the amount of work he has to do to the work available in any state.

Politics › Re: GEJ - Nigerians Think I Am Slow Because I Avoid Taking Hasty Decisions by ba7man(m): 11:28am On Dec 26, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: My friend, stop telling LIES. I hate LIES. I am not the reason Nigeria is in a mess. I am entitled to my opinion, just like every other person, including you. That I dont agree with you does not make me the problem with Nigeria. And if you want to know the problem with Nigeria, I'll tell you. The problem with Nigeria is SYSTEMIC. We run a DYSFUNCTIONAL federation, that has been aptly described as FEEDING BOTTLE federation. All Nigeria has been doing in last 3 to 4 decades is SHARE OIL money. No productivity, no creativity, no hardwork, no innovation. The dysfunctional system was further compounded by SENSELESS acts of past govts, including forceful take over of missionary schools(responsible for fall in standard of education and upsurge in crime and criminality), seizure of privately owned refineries and creation fuel subsidy(reason why there are no functional private refineries in Nig today).
Unfortunately, the damages have taken root over the decade. Some are even irreversible. For instance the dysfunctional federation cannot be reversed by the incumbent because there will fierce opposition from legislators and governors from the north. The dysfunctional system has created a huge salary bill that depletes funds that would have been used to execute capital projects at both federal and state levels(except states that enjoy extra 13% derivation from oil) and a FERTILE GROUND for corruption. To make matters worse, nobody is creating wealth that will increase revenue. We'r all scampering and SHARING oil money. This is the PROBLEM with Nigeria. The incumbent is managing a very COMPLEX, COMPLICATED and dis-united (dis-united since independence) country. Even Obama will not fare better as the president of Nigeria. He may even be assasinated. The incumbent will do his bit and will sometime leave the stage for some others to try their hand on this same DYSFUNCTIONAL country
I have to agree with u on this one.....But you know PDP is the party that continues to promote this way of life in the Country, right?

Islam › Re: How An American Lady Converted To Islam by ba7man(m): 8:35am On Dec 26, 2012
13volts: @Omo. Once again, Islam does not promise 72 virgins, or any forms of reward whatsoever for anyone who commits suicide. It is a totally absurd lie. The virgin myth has understandably received more than its fair share of publicity due to its hilarity and "romance" At the very least, it makes for a particularly gratifying affirmation for those who would love to see Islam go down the gutters. Besides, the harsh punishment that Islam bestows upon its followers who commit murder and suicide has been spelt out very clearly in the Quran:

Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily God hath been to you Most Merciful! If any do that in rancor and injustice, soon shall We cast them into the Fire: And easy it is for God. Chapter 4 Verse 29 - 30

Narrated Jundab the Prophet said, "A man was inflicted with wounds and he committed suicide, and so Allah said: My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him." (Bukhari Volume 2, Book 23, Number 445)

Narrated Thabit bin Ad-Dahhak:"And if somebody commits suicide with anything in this world, he will be tortured with that very thing on the Day of Resurrection. (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 73, Number 73)

The condemnation Islam has towards suicide is so grave that it would be unthinkable for its followers to regard sex or VIRGINS as a reward if they were to take their lives.
Thank you, I'm a Christian but I'v always wondered where the Fanatics dug that teaching out of in the Quoran, I wonder what started it.
