You can argue, you can deny it but this is how it is.....Bomb-blast/terrorism.(These Northern boys have started again). Oil bunkering/millitancy(These Niger-Delta boys again). Armed robbery/Thuggery limited to the west.(These Agberos(Jobless yoruba boys have started again). Kidnapping.(These Igbo boys have come again). This is the way it is and if you have anything to add, feel free.

Pls, I'm sure we all know the problems with our various regions. Boko haram in the North, Kidnapping in the S.E, Oil Bunkering in the S.S and armed robbery in the west. Yeah, the west is still the most peaceful though( even if u argue it, u know its true in d depths of your heart). We should be talkin bout stoppin these problems and not childish arguement and accusations.
Politics › Re: Kidnappers Scare Igbo From Xmas Trip. by ba7man(m): 3:09pm On Dec 25, 2012
We are all aware that Kidnapping is a menace in the S.E so no use acting like it doesn't exist or insult one another. We should be discussing ways of ending it or possible kidnappers in your areas or else we'll just keep insulting one another on Nairaland and Kidnappers continue with bizness. We don't always have to wait 4 the Government.
Nairaland General › Re: Is Somebody Remembering The Less Privileged This Season? by ba7man(m): 2:55pm On Dec 25, 2012
Just drove out to distribute packed rice nd chicken to beggers in Ketu and that move alone has made my day. The look on their faces made me happy.there's truely joy in giving.
Politics › Re: Kidnappers Scare Igbo From Xmas Trip. by ba7man(m): 10:39am On Dec 25, 2012
Something drastic has to be done about these kidnappers. Like a public torture to the ones caught till death shown live on TV to pass a message to upcoming ones. I know its babaric but sometimes, some Nigerians make me feel u can't b civil in dealing with them. And continuous re-broadcasting to reinforce the consequences of that action....followed by the evening news.
Politics › Re: Igbo Presidency: Why Not? by ba7man(m): 9:52am On Dec 25, 2012
An educated de-tribalized Igbo will be a blessing to this Country if allowed to rule. I just hope his kins-men will let him rule effectively and not distract him with traditional requests because..."He's our son".

Eko Ile: We still dey wait for the list of the so called infrastructures o.

Talk about invisible and 419 infrastructures,
Truely, Akpabio is doing well but we also have to put certain things into consideration. Land area, population and allocation. If I collect 20million to refurbish a house while you collect the same amount to do the same to a room....whose effort will look better in a short term?. #FACT# If you pump the same amount used to acheive all this into Lagos, you can't effect a change in Apapa, let alone the whole Lagos state. What are their populations and how much do they both collect?? Do the maths and provide d answer to yourselves. Beautiful pics too i gotta admit.
Politics › Re: Okonjo-Iweala's Mother's Kidnapper Arrested In Bank by ba7man(m): 7:59am On Dec 25, 2012
confusion247: I think federal government should dialogue with kidnappers as they are doing with boko haram. I still prefer a kidnapper to visit me than for a boko haram to visit me. Too bad, criminals will have the opportunity to visit abuja via alabaraka airline without paying a dime.
What kind of statement is this?? Pls, don't say it again.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 10:28pm On Dec 24, 2012
Sincere 9gerian: Kudos dear. You single handedly dismantled the ACN and Fashola propaganda machine on NL. Suddenly the achievements of Fashola, the 'performer' are NO WHERE to be found. Even though I think the ACN governors in some states have are doing better than their PDP predecessors,eg Ekiti, Ogun,Edo,etc, I have my doubts about Fashola. There is GROSS mis-match between whatever is on ground and N30billion monthly revenue.
I thank the Op for opening this thread after thorough research. This thread has laid it bare for all to see. The absence of new Fashola for president thread in the last few days is not unconnected to this thread.
Both of u get a room and go Fu*k yourselves. I don't care if u'v got a wife and kids...., just do it!! Lol

thelastPope: Guy, please, can ya'll please have a meeting amongst yourselves, make up your minds and stick to it? Haba!
.
One of you posted it as Fashola's achievements. Now after I have exposed it as a failed project, you are coming to tell us it is Marwa's project. Please make up your minds!
.
For your information, Marwa estate is not in agege but Alausa and is still as lovely as ever. And it is more than 60 flats, ok?
.
Just to add that, why is it that when I call you guys out to defend your governor, you start talking about GEJ. What has GEJ got to do with the failure of your governor. It shows you guys can't defend your governor so you have to try and use an attack on GEJ to distract and derail the topic abi? It won't work. If you want to talk about GEJ, visit a GEJ thread and there are many of them on NL, believe me! This thread is about Fashola.
Let me simplify it to you since it seems you lack understanding. Fashola built estates in different locations around Lagos, Marwa built some estates too but the particular one he(Marwa) built in Isolo has buildings collapsing. So i hope u get it now.
Politics › Re: Fashola Switches On The Lagos Festival Of Lights. PICS. Eko O Ni Baje O.... by ba7man(m):
We're talkin bout innovation in Lagos, one F**k head is talkin bout Queens NY. I'm sure people that do those types of comparisms don't contribute anything to d US or Naija but jus stare at their environment. Of course, who doesn't know U.S is better?? A sensible reply would have been "Hmmm, its nice Lagosians are making an effort to improving their environment this season, I hope it gets better".....not "the ones in Queens NY is better". Elementary minded like he's supposed to be using Crayola.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 9:11am On Dec 24, 2012
Just read it in Punch 25 Nov edition. The buildings that collapsed were build during the 90's by the Buba Marwa administration. The headline of that paper was "N 5Trillion stolen under Jonathan's administration". Go check it out.

thelastPope: Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Dude, calm down. Those roads were existing pot-hole filled death traps but the tar was scraped off, relaid, sidewalks and road divides constructed and the road markers painted on it. That story of collapsing LSDPC buildings in Agege is a lie, it must be the old ones you're talkin about . And the buildings may cost 10million but it also has a payment plan that an average employed citizen with a good paying job can afford. The hospitals are large and real (I'v been in one). I'v lived in Lagos all my life and this is the first time I'm seein this amount of change at once. Point to another time(except Jakande) that a Governor has been this active.

Crayola1: If you are going to brag as though what you are doing is on the level of the second coming of Christ then expect to be critiqued as such.

And you yourself even made a comment that Zenith's decorations were allegedly world class, so what were you comparing it to? Papua New Guinea decorations? Negro bye cheesy

See how first rate dummies reason grin
dude, you're d one comparing. Frankly, its dumb doin that. Who gives a sh*t where you live?? I know pips like u....all they do is criticize without being good at anything. What makes you so sure that their efforts can't grow to become World's best?? You need to recognize and encourage effort whenever you see it....not some childish comparisms, you might as well start comparing Nollywood to Hollywood. Dumbo.
Politics › Re: Fashola Switches On The Lagos Festival Of Lights. PICS. Eko O Ni Baje O.... by ba7man(m): 9:52pm On Dec 23, 2012
Crayola1: Hate on what? I live in the US so why would I be hating on a developing city in a developing nation kiss The lights are average the decorations are average, they tried but its not even half of what you are making it out to be. I have neighbors next door that are average people yet have better decoration sense. Not every thing in Lagos is gold standard grin

There is a place in Queens, NY that people literally every year schedule time to drive through the neighborhood at night because the decorations are insane, so why would I leave what I'm doing here to go admire 2nd rate attempt.
Its obvious you don't get the point. How dumb can it be to compare Nigeria with U.Shuh....to even think of it. Of course everyone know d U.S is better but we're talkin bout people seein improvements around them in a country usually void of this. You're reasoning like a 3rd class citizen over there. I'm sure you're one.

[@ Crayola1]

I'm sure you've never driven past it and only feel its what's in a pix. Take a drive at night thru this location and I'm sure u'll definitely stare and admire.......except the hate has eaten so deep into u, it blinds you.
Politics › Re: Fashola Switches On The Lagos Festival Of Lights. PICS. Eko O Ni Baje O.... by ba7man(m): 1:57pm On Dec 23, 2012
naptu2: No, it certainly wasn't done by the catholic church there (I'm guessing you mean the Catholic Church of Assumption, Falomo).

The Lagos State Government partnered with private companies and got them to adopt an open space and beautify it. The companies were given a minimum standard. In exchange the companies get goodwill and advertisement space. Falomo Roundabout was adopted by Fidelity Bank, Ajose Adeogun Roundabout was adopted by Zenith Bank, part of Marina was adopted by UBA, etc.

This ensures that we have a cleaner, neater and greener environment without putting too much pressure on the state treasury.

(It also helps to get rid of the terrible images of Lagos that we had [and that were shown on tv] in the '70s, '80s and '90s when Lagos was labelled the dirtiest city in the world).
Very innovative, cost effective way of solving a problem. Its a Win-win situation. The Government get to beautify the environment and the companies get to advertize free on areas beautified by them. Who says Fashola aint thinking. Won't be a bad idea me beautifying a small public area with my money and advertizing on it.

ypzilanti: Na wah for you tribal e-warriors. Is it bad parenting or low IQ that is you peoples problem? How does pictures of Xmas lights descend into a tribal fight? You all need to be ashamed of yourselves.

I am Igbo, I live in Lagos. Nice xmas lights to lighten up the season. Next!
Very intelligent comment.

A sensible Nigerian's comment.

babapupa: Some people are too shallow with serious low self esteem that it doesn't matter how good and beautiful what they do in their country is, they'll still swim in kolomentality and foolishly claim that what they do in other countries is better than their own country.

This is the dark and sorry side effect of tribalism and and bad bele....
I agree with this. Nigeria can't get there overnight so every little step has to be encouraged but some just keep comparing to established countries that they didn't contribute anything to its development. Countries they have no idea what they went through to get to where they are.....and its not as if these Countries are crazy about their presence or in some cases even aware.

The ones usually put along zenith bank rd can b classified as world-class(Yes,Crayola, I'v seen the ones u put up and it can comfortably beat some) and I'm very sure whoever took the photograph of the light festival didn't do it justice. They say a distance of a kilometer is lit with christmas lights and that's all he has to show. I'm sure there's more nd i'll go check it out.
Hahahaha bunch of clowns... BTW, what is festival of lights? How is this going to put food at your table? How is it going to reduce the sheer number of agberos, carpenters are rusted metal dealers from yorrobber?

Most importantly, how is this going to stop yorrober people from shiiitting in Nylon bagshuh
@ Desola; You are very silly for your comment. @ Ricky Ross; The people importing the lightings make huge sales on this, the port authorities get paid from this import. The transporter gets paid, the wholesaler, retailer all get paid, the contractor gets paid,he employs decorators who also get paid and people who drive-by and see it get their spirits lifted. The festival attracts a crowd and goods are sold while they are present. I hope this explain how lights can affect an economy to u.

Just the simple act of putting sign posts showing the names of all the streets in Lagos is something a lot of states neglect to do....in this 21st century but that simple act by Fashola went a long way. Makes a lot more sense than parking your car to start asking for locations.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 4:26am On Dec 23, 2012
ACN , Fashola aren't perfect but if all the states in Nigeria can replicate these projects show already (And this is still a small fraction), Nigeria will be better for it.
Politics › Re: The Truth About Fashola's Success by ba7man(m): 4:19am On Dec 23, 2012
Yes, and @Op. Before you say "Lagos collects 30billion blah, blah, remember the population its to service. Also b4 u say Alimosho and co are underdeveloped, remember that Lagos is fully developed and occupied, not towns and villages seperated by bush lined highways so it takes up more time and you have a lot more work to do. You can't solve all the problems in Lagos in 8yrs. Not even Superman can. And as for those "Draconian laws", sorry but if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the Kitchen.
