They should just free these people and let them go. Let them go and take their destiny into their own hands.
Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Unity - How Possible? by ba7man(m): 6:31pm On Oct 30, 2012
When I first joined Nairaland i was surprised at what was goin on and later I jumped in....but in the end i questioned the relevance of all these arguements and fights. This is the reason why this nation and any region isn't moving ahead like it should...its due to all this distrust and hate. There are Igbos and Yorubas that ignore all this and go to threads that are productive to them, not the ones that incite hate in them over what was done over 40yrs ago.
Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Unity - How Possible? by ba7man(m): 6:25pm On Oct 30, 2012
lagcity: There is no allure but igbos still did it despite Awo's' warnings. Nobody wants war but it is always good to prepare and also know your enemy. Igbos and Yorubas simply do not have common interests, no fault of either group.
I really don't know what to say about that but it wouldn't b wise for me to see an Igbo man as an enemy (mayb with the exception of the one that sold me bad spare parts). I know our leaders both Igbo and Yoruba are united in the sharing of the National cake while we're fightin ourselves down here....and all I keep hearing is names of dead men and old dudes that commited atrocities over 40yrs ago. Can't we all just simplify things.
Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Unity - How Possible? by ba7man(m): 6:09pm On Oct 30, 2012
lagcity: Don't be carried away. They are only doing business together. During war, they will be in opposite trenches as they should be
I don't think there will be a war. These people know that people die in large numbers during wars and its also bad for business....except for gun runners. We keep saying war as if we've not seen enough of war torn countries on TV and we want to join them at all cost. What's the allure??
Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Unity - How Possible? by ba7man(m): 5:56pm On Oct 30, 2012
While some are saying Igbo and Yoruba can never be united, I have many examples around me that are united doin business together, making money and are happy together. Keep on living in your worlds of Paranoia and delusions.

omosexy1: Now that makes it a fantastic story. To get you hooked. Op is a good writer. I can visualize a movie but our nollywood directors can mess things up. And if this is going to be shot, it can be expensive too. Change of location and the rest. You know sey executive producers for naija like cheap story-lines for village so that they can count their profit well
I feel u but if they can shoot a movie in which Osuofia travels to UK, this will be a piece of cake.
Literature › Re: Memoirs Of A Drug Lord (Episode 1, 2 & 3) by ba7man(m): 3:18pm On Oct 30, 2012
THE STORY IS JUST TOO FABRICATED, AND ITS NOT REAL...

A DRUG LORD WILL NOT USE A NEW FACE OR UNRELIABLE PERSON TO KILL HIS FORMER COURIER. I THOUGHT IT WAS TRUE STORY, NOW I KNOW ITS NOT...
You're wrong about that. One of the most famous Drug lords(Griselda Blanco (Godmother)) was able to recruit her best hitman this exact way. He mistakenly screwd up an intended hit that happened to be her former courier that took off with her money and to avoid being killed he was ordered to carry out the hit himself. He was sucessful and the rest is history. Go watch "Cocaine Cowboys".

mallorca: just my thoguht too,d story no make sense anymore
Its a normal way of roping people into crime. He wants the link to him to be as far as possible + He's got dirt on him already for carrying drugs 4 him. Reminds me of how the "Godmother" who died recently roped her top hitman. (Cocaine Cowboys documentary on Maiami drug trade in d 70's) @Poster, nice story, these are the type of story telling that will make world-class scripts in Nollywood....
Politics › Re: The Biafran Genocide: Igbo Youths Drag Gowon To ICC by ba7man(m): 12:49pm On Oct 30, 2012
At least this is a better step to take than posting threads all over Nairaland. Action is finally being taken so talk-time is over.
Politics › Re: Igbo And Yoruba Unity - How Possible? by ba7man(m): 12:05pm On Oct 30, 2012
But oil and water is currently mixing in Lagos and other environs. What? Do you think its only Igbos that patronize igbo traders and vice versa?? I suspect its only in your head that they don't mix. As for me, I look for the spirit in you not your tribe and i get to see that through what you say. I'm yoruba and I love my Igbo friends.
Politics › Re: Ajimobi’s Wife Arrested In The UK For Money Laundering by ba7man(m): 11:20am On Oct 30, 2012
This problem is not the ACN,Its Nigerians. Regardless the party they belong in they'll still act the same. I'll reserve comments till the news further proven but i know there's no party of saints in Nigeria. Even those that condemn the loudest here might end up doin worse if they are in that position.

Once this news is confirmed, it should be put on the front page. We need to keep exposing these dubious characters.....I'm Yoruba by the way.

America needs medical experts that can take a bullet if the need arises....who else would be better than Africans struggling to get into their country,Africa will provide a steady source of soldiers for them to fight their future wars since there's a shortage of their citizens signing up.
Remember the Buffalo Soldiers?? That's right, not a lot of people remember them.

OMG!!!...The American Government drafts the bottom 10percent of its Youths, citizens and immigrants to go risk their lives and nuture their army and some people are actually proud of being included?? What a shame.
Of course, why do you think its the army that requires them...

So what's the lesson to be learnt from this thread?? There's no information here that can improve lives so I better move on to educative stuffs.

Its quite sad a lot of people will avoid this thread. If it was about ethnic bashing, it would have gotten up to 20 pages by now. Thumbs up to everyone that at least opened it to read or dropped a point here.
Politics › Re: What Are You Doing To Improve Nigeria? by ba7man(m): 3:34pm On Oct 29, 2012
They say there's a lot of opportunities in Africa b'cos there's a lot of problems. Just pick one problem and provide a solution and you are made. Its not as easy as it seems though but that shouldn't stop you from trying.
Politics › Re: What Are You Doing To Improve Nigeria? by ba7man(m): 2:54pm On Oct 29, 2012
shizzle11: Call me a pessimist or whatever, but the question of improving Nigeria is much more than nurturing a plan in mind or writing it down on a sheet of paper. I bet most of us want an improved Nigeria but from my experiences as a Nigerian living in Nigeria, you'll agree with me that as long as we have more dubious and questionable people in positions of authority and political leadership than credible persons, then I'm afraid improving this country this country will continue to seem an impossible task.

As a law abiding citizen, paying my tax, advocate of anti-people policies etc, I'm doing my bit at improving Nigeria. I'm not lending credence to any political party. As far as I'm concerned they're are all thesame. In fact those who are seeking to control power at the national level will even be worse than the ruling party.

@ogugua, people do not say this country is doomed for nothing or as some refer to it as a pithole, it is because of what they have seen or heard and/or felt. It is okay to have ambitions or dream big, unfortunately Nigeria isn't a country that encourages positive dream rather it will scuttle your dream as soon as you conceive them, that's why not a few people have giving up on the country. Too many things are wrong with this country I tell you.

Waiting for the tantrums!
Dude you're a pessimist. I have young friends that run sucessful biznesses nd what i've learnt from them is (1) They never gave up regardless of what their environment threw at them (2) They belived in what they were doing. I'm sure it wouldn't have happend for them if they thought like you.
Pls, don't be discouraged by people, who cares about the Bad Government and dishonest people?? All I care about is my target market, 160million people. If I can capture just 1 percent of that with a 10naira product......think big.

advocate666: I repeat. This is the fault of the federal repubublic of one nigeria.
Biafra would never have become like this.
This is what they wanted.
This is their agenda.
Igbos, open your eyes!
Say no to Nigeria. Fight for the Actualisation of Biafia.
Work towards the disintegration of nigeria. It is not benefitting us.
The moment you blame someone else for your problems you can never overcome those problems. Its called taking responsibility of your life.

I'm currently designing buildings that the average Nigerian can afford. Since Dangote refuses to reduce the cost of cememt, I and my partner are researching alternate materials and construction methods that can force down construction time and cost.

Don't be bothered. They'll soon start saying other tribes hate them.
Politics › Re: Achebe Wrote Out Of Ignorance - Gowon by ba7man(m): 3:38pm On Oct 28, 2012
The problem is the people that are supposed to facillitate the realization of Biafra don't care b'cos they are busy sharing "Ghana must go bags" as someone pointed out earlier. The ones leading the recent clamour will be silenced again with more "bags".
This proves that our leaders are the problem not other tribes.
Politics › Re: Achebe Wrote Out Of Ignorance - Gowon by ba7man(m): 3:07pm On Oct 28, 2012
At this rate, I belive the Igbos should be given Biafra. That will never be acheived by these arguements on Nairaland so they should do what Gowon says and just take him to ICJ for justice to prevail. But i doubt if any of that is goin to happen.

Agiliti: if you read my comment you just quoted very well, you would realize we're saying the same thing..if that kid was presented with "facts" that only told him he was dumb, he would not have the desire or hope to do anything meaningful with his life. Psquare has inspired many people to become musicians, same way bode george has inspired many people to become thieving politicians.
it doesnt have to be a conspiracy, it could be anything from cultural bias or sample bias, to flat out racism, i dont know, but the fact still remains, if you believe you are dumb, then you are dumb
I get your point. I belive I'm a smart person but "I see dumb people" a lot around me. I work on site and a lot of our skilled workers are just hopeless. They frustrate u with their "Intelligence".
Politics › Re: The Average IQ Of Nigeria Is 69 by ba7man(m): 8:53pm On Oct 27, 2012
Agiliti: a dog came from a wolf, but a dog would kill a wolf at the snap of its masters fingers
a dog would do all the work killing an animal, then let it's master eat and be happy when it gets the bones..now who is more intelligence?

in your book, is intelligence the ability to learn and obey 100 commands mindlessly, or is it the ability to understand that those commands are all bullfaeces?
Dunno bout that but, I do not claim to know more than anyone else but as long as their society is as advanced as that i'll conclude that there's somthing they are doin that we aint and its making us look unintelligent.
