acidtalk: Poverty Na BAD thing.
Even when people stare directly at what can possibly kill them, hunger won't just permit them to reason correctly.
I don't think this is poverty. These guys are able bodied. If it bursts into flames they'll start blaming the Govt.

I'm sure the meat allocated to the animals have been diverted into someone else's pot...or the feeding money allocation into someones pocket. Sad.

Frankly, these threads might have catchy titles but I'm tired of all this negative energy. I'm surprised how some people can keep up at it for this long....its almost like they're feeding of it.

Noiseless2: I very much appreciate the correction for the wrong spelling of "role", though you might not be "alive" or born by then, however whether or not born by then but go ahead to refuse to condemn the evil by attacking and mocking the victims or their relatives, what then does it tell about you?
In the thread about Gowon defending himself, I wrote that he should have appologized instead of defending the actions. I'm aware that the Igbos have always been angry. You can't loose 3million people and allow the information to be swept under the carpet. The leaders are in a better position to apologize for the effect of their actions....to calm the tension and soothe nerves.

Noiseless2: Yet not as hateful as Yorubas like you who are rejoicing for their roll in murdering over 3million Igbos/Biafrans. By the way what are the so called Yoruba pastors & evangelists preaching to you lots? Perhaps not very different from their imams & sheikh counterparts.
Firstly, its "Role" and *News flash* i had no role in the murder of over 3million Igbo/Biafrans.....I wasn't even alive then.

Noiseless2: Get a life if at all you have one, do you want us to getting down that part, ridiculous,so you think there not Yorubas asking and receiving "favours" from me and other Igbos? Well I have learned something from your stupiid comment "mr. wise man"
Wow, you're so full of bitterness and hate, you need the peace of the lord.....Anyways, don't spoil my blues with you akpala, I'm in service, TTYL.

Abi you wan use Gestapo tactics?
So you're advicing me to reject all Igbos that require a favour from me and yoruba people i knowhuh When you start experiencing "HATE" you'll start opening threads to complain.

A young igbo guy just came over to work with my partner and due to all this online squabbles i interrogated him(without his suspicion). If i had gotten signs some people display online he wouldn't have gotten the deal. I asked him how he felt bout Yorubas and he replied "I stay in Lagos and i love it,why not its people??". I also tried discussing the civil war to see his stand but he replied "That's old school,I never witnessed it,I just want to make my money". I'm right in saying there are a lot of good Igbo folks out there. I just don't understand what's goin on on Nairaland.
Politics › Re: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by ba7man(m): 8:41pm On Oct 20, 2012
Pls, to the Igbos, these threads aren't necessary since you claim to be better than the other tribes now. I can't hop out of my car to start telling a roadside hawker how rich i am.....Since you're better, enjoy it and don't buzz the peace online.

shymexx: To be honest, the war between Yoruba people and Igbo people is closer than ever...

'The cloud is heavy' and it's going to be bloody - I'll like to see the aftermath of that...

I don't think anyone can stop that from happening, it's just about when it's going to happen...
There's no war comming between the two tribes. The Igbo, even if they finally get Biafra will still remain wherever they are and won't return home xecept christmas.
Politics › Re: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by ba7man(m): 5:09pm On Oct 20, 2012
I'm sure the Igbo people complaining on this forum are the ones with the reverse mentality. I know a lot of nice Igbo folks that aren't like any of these ones complaining here. I don't normally insult people but some of them sound like they're "boys" in a shop in either Alaba,Ladipo or computer village. These are not the Igbo progressives, these are probably their helps.

cristog120: can anyone imagine how many years it took the igbos to recover from the ravages of the civil war which the yorubas and hausas didnt witness? just a few years.but today they are way ahead of the rest economically, educationally and otherwise.compare biafra and other war torn african counties and relate it with the thoughts of achebe.what an igbo man is suffering from today is envy emanating from our co associates in this fake enclave called nigeria.they all know it. go to any major market around this coutry, major schools around the world, all countries of the world, from east to west, north to south, you will tell the tales yourself.
Since the Igbos feel this is the case, why do u guys keep bombarding us with all this "They hate us" talkhuh What better payback is there than to surpass your enemies??
Since you're better we shuld b the ones complaining.
Politics › Re: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by ba7man(m): 3:59pm On Oct 20, 2012
Let me simplify it this way...
Someone comes to start living in your house and everything is fine....soon enuff, u walk out of d bathroom and there he is in front of you saying "You hate me". You tell him "I don't hate you,why shuld I?? 1 let you stay in my house". He knocks on your door at night and tells u d same thing and he keeps it up 4 d next 1month.
Sooner or later you're bound to hate dat dude and you'll end up throwing him out.
Politics › Re: Chinua Achebe: Why Nigerians Hate Igbo by ba7man(m): 3:06pm On Oct 20, 2012
Pls, its time for the Igbo race to leave all this bickering and focus on unifying the eastern region politically and economically. Seriously, I'm sure the whole of Nairaland and Nigeria is tired of this whinning.

Car Talk › Re: Elite Cars Repopulate Nigerian Streets As Economy Booms by ba7man(m): 11:09am On Oct 20, 2012
I see these cars and i see opportunity. Yes. Imagine someone with sufficient funds notices this trend of cars, gathers a bunch of jobless youths, flies in an expert in service and repairs of these cars to train them, imports equipments and sets up a high tech garage that caters to these cars....what do we have?? More employment and it aids the economy.
You my friend don't get the point. People are saying you don't use car import to justify a booming economy. Spain's economy is crashing but some guys over there are getting richer, some people are also buying cars and building houses.
If the OP had said elite cars on Nigerian streets, nobody would have said a word.
I get your point sir,u r right, "Booming Economy" is the wrong choice of word in this situation, "Improved Economy" would have been better. I just belive an increase in these cars means more people now have a higer purchasing power b'cos more money is in circulation as a result of an improved economy.

ImpactWorld: @ba7man, am so impressed with ur comments.
You know the problem with Nigeria is nigerians. We are so negative, uninformed, destructively-critical & take every issue personal or judge issues with our personal, negatively-biased opinions.
A former foreign ambassador to Nigeria recently said & I quote "Nigeria is a great country of good people with bad leaders. But that is an irony because the people make up the leaders" Think about it.
It is my belief that ' the greatest poverty is that of the mind and not of material resources'
Nigeria is the way it is because of nigerians. "The people get the leaders they deserve"
Thank you my bro. I used to think like them too. I don't know how you can see all the signs of an improving economy around u nd still not belive. Old buildings are being torn down for new ones, big buildings are appearing once again, hotels, clubs, bars, new cars on the roads.....is it only frauds, Government officials and Criminals that patronize these placeshuh So every sucessful man i see must be a criminal?? I see why a lot of people will remain average or poor.....its their mentality that holds them down.
Politics › Re: I’ll Ever Be Grateful To Supporters Of One Nigeria – Gowon by ba7man(m): 9:14am On Oct 20, 2012
Gowon just missed an opportunity to apologize for the results of his actions to the Igbo to calm frayed nerves in the country.

When I was younger the school of thot was "GO TO SCHOOL,GET GOOD GRADES AND GET A GOOD JOB". But the youths of nowadays don't wait for all that, they start legit biz in school and nuture it. These are the people that end up driving flashy cars early......not only fraudulent ones.

A bricklayer that works for me owns his own home. My elctrician and carpenter also do. It might be located in Ikorodu outskirts and Ibafo but its theirs. They aren't well educated. They don't have to drive Bentleys but its a sign of an improvement in the economy, more people are building.
Car Talk › Re: Elite Cars Repopulate Nigerian Streets As Economy Booms by ba7man(m): 8:10am On Oct 20, 2012
A lot of people expect things to be handed down to them.A lot remain poor because they lack knowledge. I used to think "There are no jobs in this country" but now when i have a project to execute I pay men far older than me. If i had sat back like those that complain, waiting for Govt to provide i wouldn't b in that position. And I'm filled with hope that if i bump into enuff wealthy clients that pay generously.....I might just be able to afford one of these cars.

The moment you belive u can't make it in Nigeria......You can't make it in Nigeria.
That's why the self employed rich individual is a rare breed....... but your boss will understand. You can also hardly get this type of wealth if you employed too. Fact.
Car Talk › Re: Elite Cars Repopulate Nigerian Streets As Economy Booms by ba7man(m): 6:45am On Oct 20, 2012
I'v worked with lots of young self employed people who want to build or refurbish their own property,a large percentage of them are self made who belived in thenselves and their country.. Not every rich person you see is a Thief,Govt workr, oil bunkerer or fraud. A lot are honest hardworking individuals too. If you have that mentality, sorry but u can't get rich in this country.....well, that's why the rich are always few, they think differently.
