Kayjay23: My people, I am still waiting oh for a response from you guys! Favoured gal, Babababy, Uchetobi and others where are you guys? Help a sisterHmm, hi!! I ain't too sure about that quote of your " why do you want to give birth in the US when you have very good hospitals and facilities in Nigeria" do we really have good hospitals in Nigeria? Nigeria has one of the highest maternal mortality rate in the world, considering our population as well. And that's the main reason women give to them at the embassy . |
momc2bee: @babababy,I'm 14 weeks now and planning to apply for my visa next month,by then I'll be 20weeks,I don't really have any previous travel experience, only been to ghana.what are my chances?I can afford the hospital bill.will be travelling alone.Hi,I believe @ favored gal and @omotee4u answered your question. Their is no rule that says no visa for first time travelers, just make sure you do the needful, and fill the forms honestly and religiously. And if you have time, go through this thread from page one, you will surely gain valid info. Take care Thank you @favored gal |
AkuaA: Hello Everyone,Hi, I would advice you wait a bit before reapplying in order to properly access your chances, other wise you will be denied again. Am sure you were giving a standard paper which said you can reapply if your present situation changes? Now let's analysis that option. The main component of a US visa application is that DS 156 form that you usually spend hours to fill out. Some people take the form seriously, others just believe its a routine form. I can guaranty you, that form ain't just routine , it actually determines if you get a visa or not. Usually they do a background check on the answers you have giving and if their is any ambiguity , the person conducting the interview will ask you a question about one of your answers on the form, and if you fail that you are in trouble. Number two, did your cousin immigrate legally? Is your cousin working in Amercica legally? Did you answer the questions on the form about your cousin correctly ? And I would also advice that when you reapply, you apply on a tourist level ,which means you will be staying at a hotel. They love to see people ready to spend money on the economy. Number 3 ,if you apply immediately , you may look desperate . You recently applied to go and visit your cousin, and few weeks later ,you are applying to go give birth,it shows a lot of inconsistency. Number 4, when next you apply don't deviate too much from you last reason for travel, but you can add tourism as part of your reason for traveling, and if you have funds at your disposal make a trip to another country before applying again. Those are my thoughts, hope it helps you . |
Hello people, today we collected our letter from wyckoff ,stating we paid all bill in cash and are not owing the hospital. The account director, told my wife she got contact for two separate individuals planning on using their facility, with referrals from me. So I believe it should be from this medium. Anyways , they are pretty much a descent bunch at wyckoff and we are very much satisfied with the service we got. Our daughter also got the initial hepatitis B as part of the bill. So let me break it down again, total bill was $6500 , we paid $5000 at registration and balanced $1500 after birth. Payment included all the pregnancy test, 2 pregnancy scans, baby birth with 2 nights stay at hospital in a private ward. She had 6 prenatal visits and we paid $50 per visit.,antenatal drugs are not included in the package. I got a lot of info from this forum,Mao I try and give back as much as I can to help the next mother . Please let me know if any more info is needed. |
classichique: Big congrats daddys. Pls wanna seek the opinion of the house. I got my visa last month and will be travelling by Gods grace this month. My husband intends 2go 4his interview later dis mnth or in december. Pls what is best 4him 2say he's going 4? Vacation or 2witness the birth of his baby? Any oda tips 4him dat mait help?No easy answer to this particular question, since you were given a visa after declaring you are pregnant, I should believe your husband can also tell them he is going to witness the birth of his baby. But then again I don't believe their is any visa category that covers that directly , I would suggest he adds vacation as part of his plans. My opinion |
peace offering: @babababy congratulations once again,Oluwa a wo,Oluwa a dasi.amen.pls I want to know if u hv paid the balance of 1500$ that u sed wil be paid today.the reason is because I would like to know if that's d only amount u paid,I mean hope they didn't bring out any hidden charges eventually as I am beginning to consider this hospital as well and would like to be rest assured dt dts evrything they will ask for,I mean 6500$.tnxThe bill still stood at $6500, and we have paid the balance. |
@MsOyin, no we didn't book any appointment. Wyckoff is as 350 bed teaching hospital, and it is quite big. They have a pool of doctors, and you will be advised to not really make a choice of doctor for delivery, simply because the specific doctor might not be on duty when you go in labor,so any one of their doctors will make the delivery. You also have the option of mid wives if you want them to do it. @baby2014, like I mentioned in the baby delivery post, we signed a contract of $6500, and I also stated the other extra cost of prenatal $50 per day payment, please click on my I.D and just go through all post. I have also posted the full address of the contact lady you will talk to. Apparently they have not been getting any self pay patients, so we were close to being their first kind. They don't need any advance payment, and registration is on arrival. |
Harjeehbaday: @ Babababy & AdeevaThank you and we will surely celebrate with you as well soon. |
Adeeva: @babababy nice one and congratsOh I see, congrats. I was wondering what happened to you. Anyways good to know all went well and at that price for CS ,I must say your guys are lucky . Congrats again |
wunmi38: Congratulatons my brother dis is a woderful news and really impressed with ur message and its giving me more hope about my own family, additional info that I feel could benefit dis house is the issue ofThank you. 1. Contract signing was done by me when we went to inspect the hospital ,it's just the regular contract that stated the terms of the agreement, which includes the option of CS and increase bill if any complications. 2. I paid cash after signing and the balance will be paid by card . 3.the hospital required we produce our marriage certificate , and my wife filled out all the forms for birth certificate and social security number already. So we wait to receive the birth certificate before we can start the passport application. |
Good morning beautiful people, some good news from my end. My wife put to bed on Thursday 0605 eastern,it's a girl !! Mother and daughter are doing great (natural birth). They were discharged yesterday Saturday, after two nights at the hospital. The hospital is the same one wckykoff heights medical center , we signed a contract during registration and deposited $5000 ,we were giving a total bill of $6500. The package included, all the pregnancy test ,two scans, delivery and two days hospital stay.she had a total of 6 antenatal visits, and we paid $50 per visit cash. So technically we have a balance of $1500 to pay, but we were told the account woman wasn't on duty Saturday,so we a expect a bill Monday. My wife was pretty much happy with the medical attention she got. Let me know if any more details is needed from me. As for me,I will join the mid November, work is just unforgiving at the moment, and I have to hold all my excitement down. |
uchetobi: You are on your own o! Madam..if you buy the ticket and they dont allow you fly....what will you do?The sending of passengers upstairs is for passenger without a doctors permit. Their is an old woman who will examine you and determine if you can fly. She is a regular nurse. |
classichique: Hi, I called united airlines in a bid to book my ticket and I asked them for the policy for pregnant women. They said they won't carry a pregnant woman that is more than 32weeks and at 32weeks she must also present a fit to fly lettter frm d doctor. and I intend 2travel at 34weeks. Pls what do I do?Yea,like the ladies have rightly stated ,fly delta. But if indeed it's a must you fly United , you can have your doctor examine you and give you a fit to fly paper for 32 weeks. Just make sure you don't pop before landing in Houston ,cause they will then sue you for misinformation. |
uchetobi: @omofred...praiiise the lord...that is indeed divine favor! Have a safe delivery dearieJust to add some info to this, if indeed anyone decides to carry above 10k , your passport would have been stamped before any CBP officer questions you about what you intend to use the cash for. It's same procedure as declaring food . And please note, it is not illegal if you decide to carry above 10k. The big difference is, about 30 mins delay . |
Interesting times at Houston I believe, Good luck to everyone entering through Houston. Always remember to learn from people's experience and remember we are all unique and different in our own little way, what applies to Mr A, might not apply to Mr b. safe travels and God speed. |
Hello, this is not laziness ,am just asking a question and if you have the answer or the link .you can just direct me and no need to insult or use foul language because this forum is about helping each other regarding informations sharing .thank you [/quot Hello , please do try and calm down , I don't believe I can see any insulting or abusive words on the quote. A lot has been said about birthing in New York , including from me as well. Take time out and read through the thread was the advice giving , an that's in order . |
Harjeehbaday: @ classichique,Hmm,curious case this one. In my understanding about how it works, their is almost nothing the embassy can do for you now. You have been issued a visa ,and that's about how far they can go. They purpose of the issued visa still remains valid, and unless your current status expires, they can't amend anything on the visa. You best option might be ,to make sure you have everything in order. Get a hospital in place, do you registration and get an appointment. Travel with lots of cash,if you can so that you have to declare it, and they know you have cash. It's a good thing you going with your husband, let him do all the talking and don't lie about your intentions. It's not illegal to seek medical attention as long as you have the right visa. And since you were not pregnant when the visa was issued, you don't stand any risk of being turned back because you lied at the embassy. So your task will be to convince the CBP officer that you are more than capable of paying all bills, goodluck |
classichique: Hello House, kudos 4d enlighteningment on dis topic. I have been studying this thread since I decided 2have my baby in america and I have a testimony 2share :-)Happy you got the visa, printing a statement of account for the embassy is not about having a huge sum of money in it, you can be refused visa even if you have 100 million . I can guaranty you, the officer saw you balance of N20k. It's the inflow and outflow of cash they are interested in, that is why they usually ask for six month statement in order to determine if you have a steady flow income in the last six months. All the best to you,and I hope all your funds will be in order when you are traveling? |
godello: Hmmm so much money involved. Na wa ooo, all in millions. Pls can somebody outline the benefits of giving birth in the state.I am a little curious,is this a genuine question or just sarcasm in play? |
@tteam,I felt really sad reading about your experience, keep calm and look on the positive, most things in life are usually for a reason. I have to commend your courage in sharing your story, and you still manage to give advise, well done and God bless. @nikkygal, the British immigration officers are even more over zealous than the Yanky ones, even though you are transiting, those low lives will happily send back pregnant women, and most times it is the Indians, and all those other migrant British people that feel the urge to be nasty. If you can put your house in order from the word go, and follow this lovely forum from page one, traveling direct is still the best option for pregnant women. |
motorola77: Thks vivian, hv sent u a mail pls. @ hardeymijuh, congrats we anxiously await ur reply pls. I also hv question for the house pls. My visa is b1/b2 but d officer dt stamped me in last yr put just b1 n he never put my duration. Alth i went for a conference at dt time. Just needs to know if dt wont affect my next trip if i claim im in d state for hols. Also my girl passport was not stamped at all n her visa reads just b2. Abeg make una pls help me on ma issue ooo.The stamp on passport only came into effect this year may,if you entered Yanky last year, you would have received the I-94 card ,which in turn would have carried the entry and exit stamp, your passport would just carry the class of entry. B1/B2 visa are always issued together at the embassy, mans when you get to port of entry, depending on what you tell the officer? If you tell him business,he would stamp you in on b1 and if you tell him holiday he would stamp you in on b2. and it won't affect you entry the next time, if you tell the officer you are coming for holidays, you would be stamped in on b2. I don't really understand the ambiguity with your girls passport? If you can clarify better what you mean. |
ringofGod: Hmmmm, thanks babababy, I didn't notice till I left the airport in Atlanta, I'm now in California, a good four hours away.Yes o,it's not so much of a big deal with the new system of passport stamping , as long as you leave Yanky within six month your exit date would be recorded automatically through the Airlines, unlike the old system where you have to drop the I-94 on departure. And the link provided by @bamakoe can also sort you out . |
ringofGod: Thanks babababy, uchetobi and baby spice but there's no other date oh. See a picture of it attached.Hi, technically you should have approached a CBP officer to sort this issue out immediately, but it's never too late. Most times, when their is no exit date on the stamp, it is usually for students and workers ,and the stamp should have carried a D/S on it, which means you should stay till your duration of status ,which might be for 2 years if you have a 2 year visa. However, I have heard of a case where the CBP officer forgot to write the date you should leave. Under United States law, you can assume you have been granted a six months stay, and can stay for six months. Six months if the usual stay granted b1/b2 visa holders. But if you choose to play it safe, which I would advice, you should contact the US custom and border protection agency to sort it out. |
ringofGod: Hey everyone, just to let u know I got into America today, no hassles at POE though they seized my indomie and kilishiHi, good to know you got in easily. You mentioned "we" in your post? Means you had company right? If yes, do they also have the same stamp you have on your passport? Your passport should have a entry date stamp, and a hand written exit date . |
tobiojo2002: Hello Everyone,http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/baggage/before-your-trip/excess.html |
nkkystel: Pls house, I need clarifications on dis.Dear @nkkystel, in my opinion the info that has been shared on this platform from page one until page 26 is first class info. Even someone with no travel experience what so ever, can get all the information they require from this medium. Do yourself a favor dear, go to page one and start the tread from scratch. It might look too long and tedious, but if you are serious about your travel intentions you will find time to do so. Everything concerning giving birth in the US has been answered at one point or the other. Cheers |
Adeeva: @babababyGreat, you could inform her it's gonna be a long day, if she has her medical history she should take it along, although they will still make her do all the test over again, and also a 3d scan and see a doctor as well. You could send me your wife's phone number through email, maybe they can keep themselves company. I am back in Lagos myself now. Cheers |
MsOyin: @babababy thanks i already contacted them @ wyckoff and this is the mail I got from Christine the admitting director.Exactly,Christine is in charge of the admission, you are on track. |
MsOyin: @babababy that's a good deal, have you made payments already . I wud b coming over in December wouldn't mind opting for them . Please how do I contact the Gloria lady you mentioned in your previous post.Yea we made a deposit already. Pretty nice people in the hospital, and its quite big too. Go to page 21 of this forum and you will find Gloria's full contact address . |
