Please @justwise,
I have a very pressing question.
I have an aunt in UK who I didn't declare as Family in UK during my student visa application. Mind you I used her address as UK address for TB test but I chose my school address in my visa application and said No when asked if I will stay in another location in UK. Also, she was the one that paid for my IHS and visa fee with her card.
Now, I did my biometrics ( standard) on 27th July and got not straight forward mail on 6th Aug.
Please, as I prepare for an interview should I be called, how do you recommend I answer the question of " if I have a family in the UK".
NB: Aunt and Uncle was not among the options listed as close family in the visa application.

Dont think you should worry too much, just say it like it is, if asked. You have a distant aunt and you didnt think she qualified as close relative under the options you were giving. You might not be called for an interview, and if you called you might not be asked that too. Your honest answer solves the problem

Good evening everyone.... Pease I really need a clarification on dependent visa..

The main applicant has gotten her visa, and the spouse want to apply in the next 2 weeks so we can travel together in September

Please what other documents are required aside from marriage certificate, is pictures and chat history needed too??

I heard the dependent would need the main applicant's BRP for application, how true is that??

Please treat as urgent

Pictures and chat history are not part of the evidence required by case workers, you mentioned she just got her visa which means she cant have a BRPas yet. You would need her GWF application number and her CAS during your application process.I cant recall but I think you would also need her visa number .But all would be laid out while filling the application form .

If you have at least a C6 in English as part of your evidence to obtain CAS, then YES.

Its not about CAS, its about previous records with ukvi if you have applied before.

Please call Air France office to confirm that you would actually need a transit Visa. Because most European countries allow you to transit thru their airport with a UK visa as long as your transit period is below 12 hours.

In other news, for all ukvi travellers there has been a change in Green,Amber and Red list. Emirates and Qatar has been moved to Amber list....Best news so far.

Change made:
From 4am Sunday 8 August, the fully vaccinated amber rules will apply to France. At the same time, Austria, Germany, Latvia, Norway, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia will move to green list. Bahrain, India, Qatar and United Arab Emirates will move to amber list. Georgia, Mayotte, Mexico and Reunion will move to red list.

Time updated:

Are you sure? As in have you done this recently? I know of UKVI stamping visa for more than a month prior to start date but the decision at the border being that the one month rule supercedes the stamp.

The question is in the case of conflict which one prevails...the vignette or a written Rule? I'd say the written rule which is specific. It is best for people to be properly advised. I'm talking like 10yrs ago so people who recently went earlier than one month should advise or people with that query should send paid emails. I personally wouldn't do it without prior confirmation or clearance from UKBA or UKVI.

Written rule is not to arrived before the date on your vignette, its pretty much straight forward

Hmmm..except the rule has changed or they've become lenient sha...UKBA (UK Border Agency) used to be really strict about this. I advised someone against arriving before a month to start date earlier on this thread. Remember UKVI and UKBA are not the same...For example people with valid visit visas have been turned back for not giving adequate responses at the border. Don't risk deportation.
P.S.I have schooled in the UK before.

Someone who did this recently can advise.

You are right but the validation is also on the vignette, the entry permission starts from the start date on that vignette .

Goodday everyone. Please I need information. I am about buying my ticket for Aberdeen but I am just being told by a friend that it must be a return ticket so that I don’t give them the impression that am not coming back. My family is 3no and that will be soooooo expensive for me at this time. For those of you that bought already please can you confirm this?

For context, you cant get PTA for your travel if you buy a one way ticket. You and your partner can access 8000 pounds at CBN rate, that being said you also have justification to buy one way if you choose to, you program allows you work for two years after study and technically you cant get any return ticket for that duration(3 years). ponder on your options

If you are the main applicant then any family member applying with you is your dependant, even if your husband is your sponsor. Dependant visa is a visa type issue to those accompanying the main applicant.

Yes I agree, the question she asked is not about the the dependant partner in its entirety. The same question is asked in the general visitors visa.Under that question, the list of answers include people not traveling with you and elderly people you are responsible for.In the context of that question, I dont think its about the a dependant partner spouse or dependant children . Take some time to understand my point

The gurus will answer you
But to the best of my knowledge your husband is a dependents too

Check page one -five of this trend ,lots of information is there

Not precisely in the context of that question. There shouldn’t be any ambiguity actually, the question is basically about people you cater for in real life , if your spouse is unemployed and depends on you for a living then he/she should fit the bracket.

I need help FAM. Someone said I shouldn't fill my husband as a dependant but that I should only fill him as my spouse and my kids as dependants. Note that we are all travelling together

if this is in regards the ukvi application form where the question 'Does anyone rely on you for financial support? Include both those travelling with you and those who are not'', is asked? then that person is correct. There has been some ambiguity in this regard. If we relate with the general visit visa application, the same question is asked and it has nothing to do with the general dependant application, its a reality question about your current state.Your spouse is your spouse and people dependant on you are those your Carter for,its not about your dependants applying with you.

literally your travel history is on record with ukvi if it’s uk travel history you are worried about, if it’s about other destinations you can upload your history during self service upload.

They won't take your old passport from you.
No need anyway, because a) the UK student visa is points-based so travel history is not a factor (except where it is adverse of course), and b) you will fill out your travel history in the form, so there's no need for the physical passport and visas.

There is this general belief that travel history is not taken into consideration when eco’s considers an application, this ain’t entirely correct. It’s part of their brief and guideline, it is considered and more so if you have a clause on your travel history. The link below is the approved ukvi guidelines for assessing applications and i also attached a page from the same guidelines.

So in the event you apply before them, you still going to wait and travel together . Best you weigh your options, both options are viable.

Good afternoon great people of Nairaland.

Please I have a quick question and would appreciate if anyone with a similar experience can respond.

While filling my application form, one of the questions asks if you have any family in the UK and then goes on to list what this includes. I find that siblings aren't listed as one if the options (see photo). I suppose that this means that my response will be "no".

Negative, technically it means "this includes'' but not limited to. If you have a sister ,type in sister and it should autofill or brother if its a brother .

I know all the dates as it is on my passport also...

the last part of the question is asking me to input the date i left Dubai but I still live here and i never mentioned anywhere previously that I left Dubai,

Are you a legal resident in Dubai?PR?

There is a field in the application for current address, did you use the Dubai address as current adress? If yes then you dont have to input Dubai as places you have visited if its your current address.
