justwise: Any reasonable person currently looking for accommodation in the UK at the moment would obviously understand the urgency, a lot of people have posted issues about getting accomodation. UK currently has a surge in obtaining accomodation and you are here telling people about conditions that exist 10 years ago. A student lands in the UK and spends two months in an Air BnB looking for suitable accomodation, meanwhile spending cash paying for alternate accomodation, but you are here saying people should offer lower than the advertised price, you think I want to pay more, like are you joking or something . If accomodation was easy then why are people complaining about it. Jack of all trades and master of none, no human has knowlegede on everything, we learn everyday and people grow by accepting their deficiencies. I have posted an agency page asking for offers and you are still here arguing about what I dont know. The only reason I posted it is to help people with large families obtain accomodation faster, imagine a family of five paying for hotel accomodation for two months, imagine what they can do with that money instead.I met a family in Newcastle , they have been staying at an Airbnb for 5 weeks, the man was depressed. No one expects you justwise to have knowledge on everything, and when you encounter issues that you have less knowledge about, then try and learn from it, and not just start arguing blindly because you dont want to feel limited . A lot of people here are looking up to you for guidance , ego tripping is not helpful to anyone. There is a current accomodation crisis in the UK and getting accomodation is hard at the moment, if you dont know then ask. People are struggling to get accomodation, people are bidding to get accomodation, do you think I have money to throw away by making an offer? I really dont undertand what you going on about. The whole point of this place is to get direction on how to navigate current issues that effects schooling in the Uk,I know at least 4 people that made the same move as I did, and they are setteled now, after spending weeks in hotels looking for accomodation. The United Kingdom opened up PSW and they have more applications this year than they ever had, there is three times more applications than they had last year, three times more people looking for accomodation, and obviously it has affected the real estate industry. Oga ,its not rocket science. sometimes I struggle to understand you. 13 Likes 1 Share |

justwise: I am guessing you dont understand how making an offer works when trying to rent a place. I have attached a screen shot below , the agency name is https://secure.rentmyhome.co.uk/offers/5403 ,when you see a property you are interested in, you make an offer through them directly to the landlord and wait for a response. In this case the let was £875 and we made an offer of £950 and then you wait for a response.Several other people would also make offers at same time. Thats exactly what I said, hope you get it now.

fificole: Exactly, they seem to prefer a higher bid than bulk payment. In fact a particular agency put it up for bid on their website. You make an offer directly to the landlord through a bidding portal on their site. |

justwise: I just gave hint on how to secure accomodation faster than the desired, i wasn't assuming or guessing. Most of what I have listed here is exactly how I got my accommodation for a family of 5 in Newcastle. I offered additional £70 to what was advertised and we got it almost immediately after two moths search,by the way we had been offering to pay 6moths upfront and could not get any. So when you say this is not true, that is not accurate . 5 Likes |

timojerry: Some tips on how to secure accomodation. 1.You need a UK phone number when registering on sites like zoopla, onthemarket etc. You can register with your Nigerian number though, but they wont take your request too seriously. They would usually call to follow up an application and once its an International number ,your chances of them calling you is very slim 2. Most of them would request you to view the property, a viewing request means you have to be in the Uk or have someone that can view on your behalf.Viewing also shows serious intent . 3. When they advertise a property for rent and place a £500 rent on it, just an example. When communicating with the agent, make an additional offer of like £550 instead, you are more likely to get a response from the agency. They dont tell you but most rentals are up for bids, and they like a higher bid because the agent gets more. 4. Download your right to rent status, and attach it to your application. It would eliminate any ambiguity the agency might have about your immigration status . You can get your right to rent status from this link attached here https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-rent 5.It would help a great deal if you have a current job, sounds like impossible because you are a student but it Is what it is. During the pandemic, the government mandated that waivers should be extended to people who cant pay rent hence a lot of landlords were short changed. Most landlords now basically want to rent property to only people with jobs, who can pay the rent There is a current surge in rental properties at the moment, and its a contest getting accomodation. Once a property goes up for rental, they get multiple applications and the agencies are mostly interested in tenants who can pay rent, and your student status is apparently a disadvantage. The link below can also help in understanding some pointers https://www.ukcisa.org.uk/Information--Advice/Preparation-and-Arrival/Planning-your-housing#layer-3094 Finally keep trying, something would eventually turn up 17 Likes 7 Shares |

vvansalam: I think you should initiate an AR, since its dependant application and no issue with missing classes because of delayed outcome. Looks like an obvious error and a resolution can be reached after review. From past reviews, when the error is clear and obvious, you might be able to get a response in good time. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1015181/Administrative_review.pdf |

ariyike23: This issue is a bit straight forward when following the UK government guidelines but the issue of ambiguity arises because of misinterpretation from boarder control both in Nigeria and in the UK. The British government mandates children between 5 and 17 not resident in UK should take a pre departure test as well as day 2 and 8 test. ,while children ages between 5-10 who are resident in the UK dont need a predeparture test . It looks straight forward but when I traveled I asked a lot of questions on both sides Nigeria/UK and some are aware of the rules while some aint aware at all. Some would tell you your kids need it while some would say they dont. The confusion stems from the residency , because the rules are different for children resident in Uk and Children not resident in UK. Your best bet is to follow the government guidelines, you never know which set of border control you would face.According to the guidelines, your kids need a predeparture test.

Punkydude: Your Sister is a wise woman, this is exactly where immigration history profile gets its roots from. Once the lie starts, it never ends until you run into trouble. No hard and fast rule, some would get away with it, while most might not.For any application you make with ukvi ,that question will keep popping up and one day you would be inconsistent because you lied, if you lied about it initially. 2 Likes |

obaxlove: I am afraid I dont have an answer to your question, UKVI can ask for whatever document they think would help their decision and every single application is not the same because the ECO's are not the same. To avoid any situation that would raise your blood pressure, just follow the laid down rules 3 Likes |
Travel / Re: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 6 by Babababy(m): 7:09pm On Sep 01, 2021 |
obaxlove: I am not sure I follow your deductions. Let me put it in another simpler context, all figures used are examples below and not accurate. Lets assume the family of four needs 19million to apply together, so if they submitted their application together they would need proof of funds of N19million. But they dont have 19 million to apply together , they only have N15million,which is enough for 3 people. So the wife applies first and gets her visa, then the other dependants applied after the wife with the same funds the wife used , duplication of funds. So now, UKVI wants to know if all the funds are available and POF wasn't duplicated. 8 Likes 1 Share |
