PoliticsRe: Nigeria May Double VAT Due To Falling Oil Prices by babadee1(m): 9:13am On Jan 22, 2015
If they should vomit all the public funds that they have stolen there will be no need to increase VAT or any other taxes. They rob us blind through corruption and now they are getting ready to rob us blind through taxation. No way! It's time for change.

megacity:
GEJ's academic qualification is not in dispute. To be president, one needs to have a reasonable academic background, don't you think? The president needs to understand advanced issues in economics like how exchange rates are determined, inter-play between variables like level of employment, rate of inflation, money supply, etc. An illiterate or semi-literate president will not do, for the simple reason that he wouldn't have a good understanding of how these things work
Buhari has a better grasp of those issues than GEJ does. Jonathan is not a creative thinker and there is no evidence that he understands basic economics in any way, shape or form. Buhari as a former petroleum minister and chairman of PTF has probably had to deal with numbers far more than Jonathan has ever had to do.

I know that GMB's publicised school cert is yet unverified, but even if it is, F9 in maths is really poor for someone that wants to be the president of country with highly educated people like Nigeria. It is even worse if that someone has not added any additional qualification or done any academic work since 1961!
Gov. Fashola also had an F9 in maths. It didn't stop him from becoming a good and effective leader. A president is a leader of men not a technician. Buhari doesn't need maths to be a good president. He needs common sense and guts.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Spells His Own Name Wrong On His Results by babadee1(m): 1:19am On Jan 22, 2015
Ikengawo:
Bro we haven't seen Muhammedu Buhari's results. They are even saying he got results from a student named Mohamed Buhari but either HE spelled is OWN name wrong, or this is a different (but still illiterate) person. Of course you're going to pretend that in a country trying to be the one of the top 20 in 5 more years that this is acceptable because you have to defend the argument you're stuck making.

i'm just curious to see how you justify the fact that

A. Buhari spelled his own name wrong
or
B. This is a different person
The statement of results was written by the current principal and released directly by the school not by Buhari. If you're so jobless, why not find another issue to whine about? I heard Buhari might not even be a citizen of Nigeria since his dad was from Niger Republic.

BackDatAssUp:
And when you were sitting for your WAEC you sat for all the subjects Abi?

Ask yourself why English recorded 100% sittings and other subjects never recorded the same.

The word selected is used to describe the action to which students chose subjects.

Note that the table showed the percentile registration and sitting.

The curriculum back then had only 13 subjects to select from other than English which was compulsory.

Your argument is as rickety as a hang man's chair.
No. The statement "13 selected subjects" refers to the number of subjects selected by the author to include in the paper. Out of all the subjects available the author chose only those 13 to include in his analysis. It's actually very simple English.
The %TNC figure means the percentage of total number of candidates and refers to the percentage of candidates who entered for that subject out of the total number of candidates for that year.
This argument appears to be more emotional than logical from your point of view otherwise it should be very obvious to you by now.

major trends in curriculum development in nigeria - University ..
Google search it
I found the original paper and reading through it there was no mention of any inclusion criteria which is not surprising since the paper was written so long ago. However, I noticed that the point of the paper was to discuss the trends and changes in secondary school curricula from the missionary days to about the mid 70s. This was how it described the table you copied:

Table 3 shows the direction of enrolment of Nigerian candidates in 13 selected subjects, for 1961 and 1974.

Meaning they only selected 13 subjects out of all the subjects offered by WAEC in the reported years. A more current paper would have had to explain why they selected those 13 subjects and left out the others, but we can only speculate.
The bottom line is there were other courses offered in 1961 which were not included in that table.

Wait which Nigeria tribe first embrace western education?

If they could put yoruba I guess there is no more time to type Igbo and hausa

We no dey stone age... We can't be deceived ANYHOW
Look you ignoramus, this is an academic paper. The first principle of analyzing data for papers like this is sufficient numbers. If not enough people took Hausa language in the exam, the researchers will not include it in their paper because that will affect their analysis.
PoliticsRe: Waec Statistics In 1961 and 1967 by babadee1(m): 10:09pm On Jan 21, 2015
God please give these people brain, too much time on their hands but no sense. That is a journal article, the paper does not contain a comprehensive list of all the courses taken for WASC in 1961. They only list courses that they consider relevant.
Why don't you write to WAEC and ask them if they offered Hausa language as an exam option in 1961?

PLEASE SAY AMEN.

IF YOU CAN NOT SAY AMEN, BUHARI IS NOT THE CHANGE WE NEED.
What nonsense is this one saying? What does WAEC result have to do with political change? Being president is not an academic post and requires no technical skills. Some of us backing Buhari for president have multiple advanced degrees and we know that has nothing to do with leadership. Evidence in point, they say Jonathan has a PhD but is he an effective president? Capital NO!

It's still on their website, they haven't removed it. The picture doesn't have to be posted on every single story that has to do with the certificate. If they doubt the authenticity they would have posted a retraction explaining their doubts.

Now that the certificate is out let us all work together to make change in our country a reality. GMB 2015.

PoliticsRe: Nigerians Demand To See The President's Assets Declaration Form! by babadee1(m): 9:11pm On Jan 21, 2015
It is past time for President Jonathan to produce his assets declaration form. When asked, this same man refused to declare his assets publicly in 2007 and again in 2011. Now Nigerians must not allow him to get away with the same tricks in 2015. It is time for us to hold our leaders accountable to us.

Premium Times has been hoaxed.

Buhari scored an A1 in Igbo language and could not utter an Igbo word in his rallies in Aba, Owerri, Awka but goes ahead to score a C5 in his own Hausa language?

You're the one hoaxing yourself. Where you're seeing A1 is actually a vertical dash meaning he didn't take those subjects. He only took eight subjects and the explanation of the grades is written in the far right column.

HOW can he be looking for ORDINARY LEVEL certs.
WHEN other Candidates are presenting L.LB, PH.D, M.B,B.S..

And it appears to be a Bad pill/ a difficult exam for the GEN. to contain...

HOW long will it take BUHARI to present this...?
U, know its really ABSURD, especially for someone aspiring for the highest seat
You are not very smart if you have to ask that question. The constitutional requirement to run for president is a school leaving certificate or its equivalent. He is not applying to be a lawyer, a professor or a doctor. By the way, many of us who are qualified professionals support him because we see his leadership qualities and integrity. That is more than any certificate or academic qualification in this world.

A 2015 printout is now Buhari's 1961 certificate? coupled with a computer printout that was now been signed and stamped in 2015? This is the worst excuse for a certificate, Buhari should write to WAEC and collect a Certified True Copy if he is ready to defend his so called integrity
Don't be silly. Cambridge University sent a print out to confirm the results, that is what the statement of results was based on. They were the ones conducting O-level exams for Nigeria in those days.

This same economy that has enlarged and become the biggest in Africa. Why do some people believe in lies and propaganda??.

All the new towns developed across the country in every city are signs of the enlarging economy. If your personal economy is bad try working harder.
Car manufacturing and assembly have come to this economy, agriculture, entertainment, etc.

People should stop believing lies and propaganda from APC and open their eyes to see around the transformation going on around us.

APC wouldn't do half of what PDP and GEJ have done to develop Nigeria.
Lies and propaganda are what you typed up in your post my friend. Are you saying that the economy became the biggest in Africa under Jonathan? You don't seem to understand what the rebasing exercise was. Nothing changed except for how the GDP of Nigeria is calculated on paper. Largest economy on paper is meaningless if there are not enough jobs that pay well, if the naira is being devalued every day, if the income inequality gap is widening and the level of poverty continues to increase. Those are the things that matter to ordinary Nigerians.

The government cannot claim credit for the work of the private sector. Jonathan is not responsible for everything good you see in the economy. I'll say this much, of the three major issues in this election he has done best on the economy. On national security and the fight against corruption he has been completely asleep at the wheel.

It goes to show largely that the majority of Buhari followers up North are following him because he is a muslim.

Now let me ask you a question, if Buhari comes out to say he has converted to Christianity would he still have all those followers from the north??
You must be joking! Jonathan is the one playing the religion card in this election. If he converted to Islam do you think he would still stand a chance to win? That's the question you should be asking.

The problem of Nigeria is not just corruption. What about asking if Buhari is capable of running the economy?? Or is it by stabilizing World Oil Market price?
Jonathan is not an option but Buhari should not have even been thought about by APC in the first place.
Jonathan has been a disaster for the economy. But he's not the one running the economy Okonjo-Iweala is. If both Jonathan and Buhari are two evils then Buhari is the lesser evil.
