A paper that was written in the 1980s is now being misinterpreted and peddled around as disproving Buhari. These PDP propaganda agents have been very busy but by the grace of God all their efforts will be in vain on February 14.

Yes he sat for the WASC in 1961 but out of eight courses he only passed six. I'm not saying his results were good, in fact they were quite bad which is why I respect him all the more for daring to release his results considering how bad they were. Don't believe any one who tells you that the certificate is forged, they're just trying to deceive you.
Regarding the book by Gbulie, we already know that for a long time northerners enjoyed a quota in the military and in federal schools. I don't blame Buhari for that even if he was a beneficiary of the system. It was a form of affirmative action which has been scaled back and will soon be phased out.
I sense that you are a honest young man and I feel sad that Nigerian politics of tribal bitterness is infecting your generation as well. Please don't fall for it. Buhari is not an enemy just because he is from the north and a muslim. We are all Nigerians.

Lol. I'm really starting to enjoy this. So I went to look at the Cambridge results master list again to see what you were talking about. It turns out that there was an asterisk before that statement. There are eighteen names on that list and the candidate being referred to by that statement was not Muhammadu Buhari it was somebody else.
Even if it was him however (and it's not), it only means that he repeated the exam in 1961 after taking it previously in 1960 and there is nothing legally wrong with that.

Lol. I have already read that story. I didn't even bother to comment cos it's obviously a joke and FFK is a clown. The man is just enjoying himself at GEJ's expense. If Jonathan loses this elections FFK will come running back to the APC crying for forgiveness. He has no character, no principles and no sense of shame. FFK is a practiced liar and is not someone that any Nigerian should trust. In fact when Jonathan employed him I knew that the president of Nigeria is truly clueless and has no problem surrounding himself with frauds.

PDP has lawyers yet they can't go to court. What exactly are they waiting for? Please tell me. I am not bothered at all. I have already convinced my family members and several of my friends to vote for Buhari. If you can convince me that he actually caused a fake WASC certificate to be released to the public then I will reverse my support. Nobody has shown me any real proof that the certificate was forged. If I wanted to forge a secondary school certificate I would not give myself those results.

He doesn't have to convince you. He only has to convince INEC and they are convinced already. Support whoever you prefer, that is your right. End of this discussion.

Remember the contents of the oath he swore? No word like 'lost' was there. Meaning he lied on oath? More questions than answers.

An affidavit does not have to contain the full story. It only has to assert at least one main point. The purpose of that affidavit was to let INEC know that his qualifications were in existence and could be verified from the military, nothing more.

P.S. This issue seems to be above your head, I suggest you give it a rest.

Go back and read the news. He explained that it was carted away by soldiers who ransacked his house after he was overthrown by IBB. That information is in several threads here on Nairaland. What the military supposedly had were the copies not originals.

Ok good. Since you're so concerned about this issue, why don't you contact Government College Katsina or better still Cambridge University for more clarification about it? As for me I am satisfied with the authenticity of the documents released.

You're mistaken, it was a computer print out sheet. The statement of results is what you are calling the master list.

This is the kind of people Jonathan appoints to work for him. The main job of a president is to appoint good people to work in the interests of the Nigerian people.
Based on his appointment of FFK there is absolutely no doubt that Jonathan is a person with poor judgment and a terrible judge of character. He will continue to appoint misfits to rule over Nigeria should he somehow return as president.

That is the issue, he didn't say it was lost, because then, it would mean he had obtained it, then lost it.
The case here is different.

1. He never said the original was with the military only copies.
2. He has always maintained all along that it was lost after soldiers ransacked his house and carted away his private documents when he was overthrown in 1985.
3. He never said it was with his school principal. He applied for his statement of results from Government College Katsina formerly Katsina Provincial Secondary School. The principal wrote to Cambridge University to obtain the master list of all the students of the school who wrote the exam in that year. That master list was also released as further evidence.
4. PDP has been using the certificate issue to blackmail him and is continuing to do so. The online activities of posters like you are possibly a part of the plan to blackmail and frustrate his presidential aspirations.
5. The vanguard did not leak anything. Premium Times was the first to release the certificate. They also confirmed and authenticated the results with Cambridge University before releasing it.

If you or anybody else are convinced that this result is fake, then you should contact Cambridge University and expose Buhari once and for all instead of spreading disinformation online to confuse people.

The original 1961 certificate was lost. Many people who finished school decades after Buhari have lost their original certificates.
When you lose your original certificate you can apply to your school for a statement of results which will be issued on current letterhead paper according to current guidelines. The photo on the statement of results is recent because it is required by the school for a new statement of result to be issued. This statement of result was issued yesterday January 21, 2015 not in 1961.

I hope this has helped those people still confused by this recent development.

We are not talking about failing WAEC here, WAEC is a difficult exam to clear at least for a lot of people. We are talking about failing WOOD WORK! Who fails wood work? I mean wood work (lower than carpentry) is reserved for those who have difficulty in academic field. Buhari failed WOOD WORK!! Haba!

The U.S. War College came out and said he earned a diploma from there. I think they would know better about the issue than you. I never said he was a war strategist I said he studied war strategy. There is no such title as a war strategist.
Have you ever taken wood work as a course? Do you know what it entails? Who told you it's lower than carpentry or reserved for people who gave trouble in the academic field? I can see that you don't really know what you are talking about. You seem to think studying wood work as a secondary school course is similar to studying carpentry as a trade but it's not the same thing at all.
I'm done debating this Buhari certificate issue. Whether you people like it or not the matter is settled. The rest is left to the people and INEC on voting day.

We haven't seen GEJ's PhD thesis yet. But what if he has a PhD? What is the relationship between PhD in zoology and being president? I think Buhari's US War College diploma in international strategic studies is for more relevant to the post than GEJ's PhD in zoology.
Jonathan studied fishes. Buhari studied war strategy and international relations. I think that says a lot.
I don't care about who failed maths or who failed woodwork. I have several friends who failed woefully in their WAEC exams and they are great men today, doing far better than even those of us who passed all our subjects with flying colours, so WAEC result does not make a man.

You can't compare this man and Fashola ooo... Fashola has a solid academic background; even if he had F9 in maths, he improved himself by going to the university and rising to become a SAN. Same with GEJ, even if he repeated his WAEC, he improved himself by going to the university and making 2.1 in a difficult course like zoology. Even Obasanjo has written so many books and found it necessary to go NOUN to run academic programs. After Gowon was toppled, he went to university and now has a Ph.D.

Now look at this your man, he has not added any qualification since he had his F9 in 1961. After he was toppled thirty years, he neither found fit to improve himself nor has he written a single book about Nigeria. this is the height of mental laziness

Don't be deceived. Buhari might not be an academician but he's very intelligent. A person's performance in the position of president is in no way correlated with academic results or achievements. It is a fact in every country of the world that the best leaders are not necessarily the ones who go to school and have the most degrees.
Writing books about Nigeria is neither here nor there. That all the books supposedly written by Obasanjo were ghost-written by someone else is a commonly known fact.
By the way, Buhari has had some considerable post-secondary education throughout his military career including taking courses in reputable military institutions abroad where he performed creditably well. The commandant of the US War College wrote him a letter of commendation after he obtained a diploma there in 1980.
The man has good enough education to be effective as president. He is not running for office to be a professor.

The Nigerian government needs to hands off the oil sector completely. They need to issue licenses, provide regulations and collect royalties and taxes, nothing more. They should have no involvement in prospecting or refining, in importation or exportation and definitely no more subsidies of any sort. They need to sell off not only the refineries but any holdings of NNPC and scrap that parastatal completely.
The type of gradual privatization process going on in the power industry is long overdue in the petroleum industry. That is the only solution to these chronic problems.
