RomanceRe: How Long Should I Keep Sticking Around? by babadee1(m): 3:41pm On Jul 10, 2022
wheelzcoded:
I've been in love with my friend's sister for a year now, the whole family are cool with me. I and the girl has been so close , we fight, settle, she apologizes immediately when she's wrong, I do too , when we're together there's no boring moments as she keeps creating funny jokes and discussions even if I'm out of words.

So many times I try to understand and dictate signs she loves me , even situations where there are guys with cars whenever we're walking and they stop to talk to her , the reactions from her shows to them she's my girlfriend. Even though we both know we're not dating.

Many times people tend to ask her the state of the relationship or who am I to her , sometimes she says her boyfriend, sometimes her manager because we're in a business together.

My question here is despite she being supportive and understanding, can a lady go into a biz with a guy who she doesn't see the future with? Like she does more of the commitment than I do sef, whenever I talk about the future she doesn't laugh she only says if it's God's plan no one can stop it but she always tells me "I'm not ready for a relationship now, you're not my boyfriend, I just need to focus on my growth"

This is one girl that understands my kinda person and I do understand her too
We fight and settle just immediately.. so many times I lockup and don't want to talk to her she does the checkups and communication. I'm not pushy, the stuff is just balanced .

Even encourages more and sacrifice for me like a wife even some girlfriend's wouldn't do for their boyfriend's...

Few days to my birthday she wrote on her status
"My love's birthday is loading"". Soon I viewed it she deleted it .

How long can I keep accepting this you're not my boyfriend words and I'm your girlfriend attitudes....
Honestly you sound so confused. Did you ask her out plainly and she said no or what? Are you still holding back from expressing your feelings to her or what? This your write up is not clear at all.
EducationRe: Do I Quit My Job Or Keep Getting Distracted In Medical School? Help Me by babadee1(m): 9:10pm On Jul 06, 2022

Hello everyone,
I am in dire need of your honest advice. I am a fan of Nairaland but created this because of identity.
I am a medical student studying medicine in one of the public universities in Nigeria. When the ASUU strike newly started, I started looking for things to do and clients to work for. Fortunately, I got two clients who pay me about 200K per month since April. It varies; last month, I earned 199K, this month will be 220K+ if I work harder.
I have saved most of the money to write professional exams.
However, my school still conducts lectures through Zoom and we have not had rest since the strike started. We do have classes from 8am till 5pm except on some days. I am about three months back and our test is coming up soon.
Please do you advise I quite my 200k/per month and focus on my studies seeing that i have lots of materials to read and prepare for my test?
P.S: I have tried balancing but the freelance work is highly demanding. What do i do please?
Take a break from the freelance jobs and focus on your upcoming exams. If you fail out of medical school freelance jobs won't help you then.

Minimum wage in Nigeria is 30k. This is a minimum wage job so that's how much he should be paid. No salaried person in Nigeria should be earning less than 30k per month by law.

Why on earth would UK government sign such agreement with Nigerian government? Buhari is killing nigerians everyday through bad economic policies, bandits, iswap, fulani herdsme, Boko Haram and unknown gunmen are killing people daily. Those that have succeeded to travel out are being deported. For what? Are you bringing them back to be killed?
If they refuse to follow the laws over there then they are the ones bringing themselves back. Nobody will tolerate a guest who comes into their house to become a nuisance to others.

How will a poor family have '6' childrens
While an average rich families has '2' children respectively.

I dont know.
Is poverty linked to fertility in women or its high sex drive in men..

What do you think about this nairalanders..

"why do poor parents have more children than rich parents".
The ability to get rich and staying rich requires serious planning. Everything is planned including having children. To be poor and staying poor requires no planning at all. Nothing is planned including having children.

What you have is called aphthous ulcer or canker sore. It is caused by vitamin deficiencies leading to minor wounds in the mouth which don't heal quickly. Get some vitamin supplements and use Bonjela on the sores. If it doesn't heal after a week or two please go to the hospital.
PoliticsRe: Everything You Need To Know About Tinubu’s Certificate Controversy by babadee1(m): 9:15pm On Jun 26, 2022
seunmsg:
University degree is enough qualification to contest for president. What the law requires is a minimum of first school leaving certificate and a university degree is more than that.
The electoral law requires a secondary school leaving certificate to run for president. I don't even know how a person can say he has a university degree but doesn't have a secondary school leaving certificate or high school diploma. It's simply not possible. He must have at least done GED or something before getting university admission in the US. This man is totally rotten.
PoliticsRe: Everything You Need To Know About Tinubu’s Certificate Controversy by babadee1(m): 8:35pm On Jun 26, 2022
seunmsg:
Tinubu certificate brouhaha ~ Woye :

You will recall that there was a petition dated Aug 12.1999 about the educational background and age of Asiwaju Tinubu written by Alhaji Jammed Seriki & Dr. Waliu Balogun - smith.

They accused him of lying about his age in his nominating form to INEC.

2: Gani Fawenhinmi went to court to seek for prosecution of Tinubu up to Supreme Court. Supreme Court ruled that Tinubu CANNOT be Prosecuted by the police for alleged certificate forgery. That only Lagos State House of Assembly can investigate him.

3: Then, June 4, 2013 one Dr. Dominic Adegbola asked Federal High Court Justice Saliu Saidu to re - open the suit filed by Gani Fawehinmi in 1999. The suit was to compel IG of Police to commence investigation into alleged forgery. The court dismissed the case . The court said that the applicant went to sleep since 2007 when the “toga of immunity “ could no longer shield Tinubu and suddenly woke up when the matter is statute barred . So as at today , court has exonerated Tinubu of any forgery even after leaving office . So what is the issue now as a result of Supreme Court decision, Lagos State House of Assembly under Speaker Mamora (present Minister of State) opened the probe via a motion moved by Hon. Tajudeen Agoro & a 5 man ad - hoc committee was set up with Hon Omowoare as chairman .

4. The committee sent out letter of invitation to the 2 gentlemen that wrote the petition. Those guys REFUSED to substantiate their petition. The committee even went to the addresses those guys provided and they could not find them . However , Tinubu was invited to answer

5: Tinubu came with Femi Falana who wasn’t Anthony bus stop SAN then . Tinubu admitted to the needless errors being pointed out by the petitioners and that it was Senator Tokunbo Akifuyomi that did the documentation. Then he submitted a copy of SDP Senatorial candidate form dated June 1, 1992 in which he used to contest the 1992 Senatorial election and he won as a Senator representing Lagos West. That form he personally filled . Tinubu attached the certificate of Richard Daley College and Chicago State University.

6: Qualification was B.Sc Accounting. Now, INEC in 1999 committed an error in INEC form CF01 that bore a wrong date of 28th Dec 1999 instead of 28th December, 1998. Commissioner of Oath detected the error.

7: Tinubu could not complete his secondary school because of poverty. He decided to leave for USA to find food. He did a lot of menial jobs & suffered like every young man without a rich parents or uncle or RICH TWITTER boys and girls. After 5 years,he enrolled at Richard Daley college in Chicago. Note, Tinubu did not complete his education in secondary school, therefore the college offered him basic , remedial and academic classes like IJMB in local Nigeria. He passed his remedial courses and he was offered admission to Chicago State University. He obtained Bachelor of Science in Business & Administration and his major was in Accounting. He had no scholarship like me that I enjoyed in my undergraduate and post graduate too . He was in Chicago State University from August 1977 to June 1979 . He worked with Deloitte Haskins

8. Tinubu was an employee of Mobil oil of Nigeria between Dec 1,1983 when Buhari, Babaginda, Dasuki,David Mark were preparing to overthrow Shehu Shagari & he used to pass though Dodan Barracks not knowing that fate would link him with Buhari later. He was there till May 17, 1992

9: Senator Afinkuyomi appeared with Prof Itse Sagay SAN too that he was heading the unit of Gov ‘s campaign responsible for processing of form & because of the rush & tense circumstances in Alliance for Democracy as per Guber primaries caused the confusion.

10: Chief Gani Fawenhimi also appeared to give testimony. That the committee should determine if the law has been breached. Then Femi Falana appeared on behalf of Tinubu that no evidence has been led to show that Tinubu presented forged certificate to INEC. Chicago University

11: Chicago state University has confirmed that Tinubu was a student of their University and he secured admission through Richard Daley College . The committee later sought legal advice from Chief Fred Agbaje a honest lawyer, Olisa Agbakoba, Deacon Dele Adeshina NBA chair, ikeja, finally the committee finding on the allegation of forgery was that “WE HAVE NO EVIDENCE that any forged document was presented to INEC” the only certificate presented to INEC was a transcript of CHICAGO STATE UNIVERSITY.
If Tinubu does not have a secondary school leaving certificate then he is automatically disqualified from running for the presidency. If he has done the GCE in Nigeria or the GED in the US then he should present those results for certification. No need for too much long story abeg.

In that case it's even more straightforward, unless they're saying the consent letter was fake like the passport supposedly is.

CareerRe: Is ICAN As It Is Now Overrated by babadee1(m): 3:01pm On Jun 25, 2022
Covenant97:
Good day fellas!!

Early this morning I log into my LinkedIn account and on my newsfeed I saw series of congratulatory messages and inspiring quotes from peeps on the ICAN results that just got released...

Although, I was happy for them, at least it’s time to enjoy the reward of their handwork and investment paid off...but while on this, my mind was troubled not for bad reasons though, but in that the number of graduating chartered accountant are way high in there numbers and some student still in school are veering to get chartered as well...with this in mind I began to question myself if ICAN as it is today is still worth it or just overrated given the basic law of demand and supply...more chartered accountant plunging into the system with few but highly competitive job around..what does the future hold for this peeps......

Conversely, began to notice that most people who became chartered and those who are one day looking forward to be one are doing for The grams, to feel among, to impress friends and family that they are smart as most saw that only a genius can pass the exam according to them....

The craze to feel counted and ego boosted( not all though) has made the profession too saturated leading most accountant unemployed or underpaid( the ones who saw it as their career life goals)....

With this in mind is the ICAN journey a worthy to embark on( for who who are yet to, myself inclusive) or is it just overrated...

Ps on the level of difficulty attach to the exam how true is it.. for those who has written... I have seen and come across peeps who brag about its difficulty in a bid to make themselves special and downplay the efforts of others who had failed in the exam... this is particularly common among the current crop of ACA...

It there a secret or special kind of strategy and approach one need to know or failed to know that makes the ICAN look as if it’s only surmountable by the genius alone....

I come in peace......
Are you an accountant? If you are not then you can never understand. By the way only a percentage of accounting graduates will eventually pass ICAN. Passing the exam has always been and will remain a great accomplishment.

I saw this comment on the thread announcing results and it truly represented what I was thinking.

How Did Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi Get More delegate Votes Than Prof Yemi Osinbajo?

1. Bola Ahmed Tinubu Scored 1271 Votes
2. Rotimi Amaechi. Scored 316 Votes
3. Yemi Osinbajo. Scored 235 Votes

E shock me die...

I think we've been led to overestimate the true reach and impact of Osinbajo. No wonder prior to the convention there was this clamour for Buhari to endorse a candidate to fly the APC flag, and Osinbajo was loudly touted to be the president's favourite.

Like many I was led to believe Osinbajo might walk away as APC's candidate I already wrote off any possibility of Amaechi clinching the ticket.

But you can imagine my shock when I saw Tinubu ahed with over 400 votes and guess who came in second, not Yemi or Lawan

AMAECHI!

we have underestimated this man until now.

I want to see a Tinubu/Amaechi combo in 2023.

So for those whose preference was Osinbajo how does it feel knowing he isn't even the 'SECOND CHOICE'.

Presently, he's thinking of enrolling in a cyber security training and ethical hacking tracking with his savings.

Should he get an apartment first before he gets a job or he waits until he gets a job before he rents an apartment? For now, he's squatting with some people and not really comfortable.

What do you suggest please?
How is he going to pay for an apartment without a job? Lagos is very expensive.

A presidential candidate must win 25% of votes in 2/3 of the number of (36) states in Nigeria, apart from winning the highest number of votes, before the candidate can be proclaimed winner of Nigeria's presidential election.
It's very easy for a northerner to win 25% of votes in the 19 northern states, then scout for 5 southerner states to win 25%; but not easy for a southerner to win 25% of votes in 24 states.

Put on your thinking cap to observe that it's very easy for a cow from Northern Nigeria to win even a professor of Law or Politics from the south of Nigeria if the northern politicians support a northern presidential candidate.
My guy think about every single presidential election in Nigeria since 1999. In all the elections so far the two major candidates have aiways met this 25% threshold requirement. So that one cannot be the problem. Talk another thing biko.
Your last sentence is actually where the real truth lies. Northern politicians and voters find it easy to rally around a northern presidential candidate but southern politicians and voters find it difficult to rally around a southern candidate in the same manner. Please tell me why.

If you are not part of the Indomie generation that does not understand that Nigeria was formed by 3 regions in 1960, but sees Nigeria as a country formed by 36 states and Abuja, why can't you understand that it's fraudulent to latter create 20 new federating units in the northern region but allow only 17 federating units in the old two southern regions?

How can't you understand that creation of 20 new federating units (19 states and Abuja) for one northern region gave absolute political powers to the politicians in the north, but reduced political prowess from the politicians in the southern regions?
This guy think am well na. States don't vote in elections. Federating units don't vote in elections. People vote. Since the beginning of the Nigerian experiment the north always vote as one bloc. The south always split their votes. Imagine if all the federating units in the south west, east and niger delta all come together and decide to support one southerner against the north. But will that ever happen? No. Instead it's easier to believe there's a rigged political structure when the answer is very simple and so obvious in front of our eyes.

Explain for you? You can't understand.
You read where I wrote that some southern Nigerians need to be taken under a tree in Sokoto or Kano to be tutored in how the rigged political structure of Nigeria created by northern military dictators made Arewa politicians become lords of Nigeria's political process.
There is no special advantage to the north or any rigged political structure. The south is divided and the north is united. That is their only advantage. Period.

The north have 19 states plus FCT against 17 states in the south

Now tell me in democracy do 17 stand any chance against 19?

I followed that news when the southern governors made that announcement that the president must come from the SOUTH..The northerners became jittery and started looking for a loophole, which is were in the south will the president come from,I tell you brethren a knockout punch was to present a SOUTH EASTERNER but then greed came in.

To the North if the EAST can't be presented that means we are ALSO eligible.

HOPE YOU GUYS GOT THE POINT
First of all states don't vote, people vote and no amount of political restructuring can change that. Secondly nobody said the east cannot be presented. PDP is the major opposition party and Peter Obi was a PDP member until recently. He has a lot of support behind him but his own fellow south east governors have refused to support him. None of them will even agree to see him when he went to campaign in the south east.
So now tell me. If the eastern political structure cannot agree to support probably the most popular eastern candidate whose fault is that?

Goodluck Jonathan won in 2011 through incumbency powers, but in 2015, incumbency powers could not help him, as Arewa once again used the lopsided political structure to stop him.

Ok, merge more southern states together to result in lesser number of reprentative constituencies in the south; but let north have its 19 states political structure with its present number of representative constituencies; thereafter, see how the unity you crave for south can make a southern presidential candidate win a northern presidential candidate.

Some southerners need to be taken under a tree in Sokoto or Kano to let Almijirins teach them lessons on how the political structure of Nigeria determines who wins Nigeria's presidential election.
What political structure are you specifically talking about? Are you suggesting that restructuring is what will make a southern president emerge? Did restructuring produce Obasanjo and GEJ?

Nothing much to learn other than insist on political restructuring of Nigeria away from the present lopsided political structure created by northern military dictators to favour northern politicians.

Political overrepresentation of Arewa through the too many states and political constituencies created in Arewa by its military dictators in the old Northern region, is reason why southern politicians are helpless before Arewa politicians.
Unity is the key and we don't have it. Without unity you can restructure the government even to the level of family compounds and nothing will still work.
