Please I need advice. I had my interview with my old passport. I've been asked to bring insurance along with my passport. I know I can collect the visa on a new passport but the challenge is with the insurance. I contacted an insurance company just to find out the requirements. My passport is being renewed so I told them I'd rather wait to get my new passport but was assured that they could work with the old, that the requirement for passport was just a formality so I could send them a copy of my old one which I still had. I assumed that the details of my old passport would not be on the insurance but I was wrong because I got it today and everything is there. This means I would be submitting my new passport (with old one attached and obviously now invalid) with insurance carrying old passport's number and expiry date to the embassy. I'm skeptical about this. Would this be a problem since my visa would obviously be on the new passport with new number? Shouldn't the details on the insurance tally with the new passport instead? Experts in the house, please help!
Congrat on the arrival of the long awaiting AM. Your 2 passports need to be attached together using rubber band, with that embassy will understand. I'm sure they will not even bother themselves on whether it was old or new passport that was used for the insurance.

please has anybody that was affected from booking an appointment after canceled the first one due to inconvenience date or any reasons best known to him/her able to book new one ,because am yet to book fresh one.please help by replying.
I cancelled in Dec 28th due to issues I heard regarding appointment confirmation, but on Dec 31st I was lucky to see another better date than before. It affected my well-being anyway as I have to virtually stay awake .

But that will be more expensive now that's black market
Will it not be better to use form A or what do you think
Thanks
If your funding is not that urgent, you can fund with form A, but I don't see any significant difference as most banks now are even using black market rate to do form A. Domi account takes 2 days . Someone should verify any way. The best thing would be to get a reliable person in Germany who can do the transfer while equivalent in naira is paid into the persons account. But who will bell the cat?

Please how did you fund? Do you know anyone selling euros?
I started buying euro gradually since September last year from aboki into my domiciliary account, and then transfer from my domi account to Block account. What I normally do is that, whenever i want to buy euro,I will just go to eko hotel ask randomly till I meet someone who has the euro.I will tell the person to follow me to my bank with his euro, the banker will check the authenticity and upon confirmation of authenticity ,I will transfer the agreed equivalent in naira to him or withdraw and give him.

Good day house.

I applied to some unis last year, got 3 admissions but could not meet up due to funding challenges sad cry
This year, I want to apply again, hoping all will work out for my good this time. grin grin grin

I uploaded all my documents to uni assist, march last year.

Do i need to repeat that process again ?

Most of the unis i am going for this year have their admission window opening from April/May. That will be over a year that I have uploaded my documents in Uni assist. Does this matter or not ?

What do I do ?

Thanks
Since most of the unis for your forthcoming applications will commence from Apr/May, you would have exceeded the 1year limit that uni-assist documents are archived. It's possible that documents are automatically deleted after one year. So send a mail to Uni-assist to confirm if your documents can be retained till May.It's based on their response you will know if you need to send new set of documents.

One thing is sure that jobs can't be gotten on a platter of gold. There are procedures one must follow in every country to succeed. Be ready to take the bull by the horn! Once you get the right qualification ,German language, work experience you are good to go. Who said one must work in Germany only? With your degree from German uni, there are ample opportunities for you in other EU countries not only in Germany .

Good morning house,
Please should the motivation letter to be taken to the embassy be handwritten or typed?
Thanks.
Please let the checklist be your guide. Some questions shouldn't be asked at all because it's funny how persons going for higher degrees can't even understand the requirements. The checklist clearly stated "Handwritten motivation letter " and you come here to ask if it should be typewritten.

hello boss is it mandatory i get an experience letter for all the work experience written in my CV against embassy interview?

No sir, if you have any one add it as supporting documents but not mandatory. Nobody cares since you are not going for EU Blue card visa which deals with work contract. Simply listing them in your CV is OK.You can even use offer letter in place of the experience certificate if you desire to prove you actually work there.

Hello evribodii.
Honestly sum'thn just happened right now and I can't even lie this time...
My interview is coming and I've been thinking of what to wear...can I just go without a tie because honestly speaking I don't like wearing them...because I'm seriously angry if I have to use a tie in suit
Or I have to be dressed in the full package. Does it really count?
Thanks!

Forget about suit it's too odd .Just were a simple long sleeve,it's ok if you want to put on a tie. On the whole just look simple and smart

Hi BabaEuro, I am in my final year in school here in Nigeria.. By God's Grace I will be done with NYSC by end of 2019. With the intention of going for my M.tech immediately in Germany what's the most advisable time to begin my application?
Since you will be completing your NYSC towards the end of 2019, you can prepare ahead for summer semester starting March/April 2020.

Applications for such school normally starts from September/October/November 2019 depending on the school and will ends in January 15th 2020 as the case may be. So prepare all your documents down and apply as early as possible. You don't need to complete your NYSC before you apply as NYSC certificate is not that significant.Your B.Sc result and transcripts, SSCE, Proof of English are the most important things to consider. Others that could also be required are Recommendation letters, Motivation letters, CV.

Good day house.. Has anyone heard from RUHR or FAU.
I dont even know if they received my documents
That's why you have to use reliable courier service like DHL or Fedex or even TNT that are trackable , and not those over cheap courier that will spend 1 month which will delay the processing of your documents and may even dump your documents somewhere.

Mine is stamped and signed on all pages.....I don't just want wahala of the embassy.
Funny enough, I guess it was still on this forum that someone said the transcript isn't so necessary for the interview.
Guy you are good to go . Let them go and verify if in doubt. Since all the pages are stamped you got no wahala. so what is now the difference between official and student copy?

Hello please when asked what your plans are after your Masters degree during your Visa interview, what would be an appropriate response especially if you would like to work in Germany to gain additional work experience. Thank you

That you will work in Germany is your own personal cup of tea and should not be disclosed when interviewing for student visa else they will think you don't want to return . Tell them " I will return to my home country to use the knowledge and skills acquired to positively influence my community". The truth is that that are away many will not want to return back.

I thought one could go for visa interview with student copy of transcript, bro.... abeg clarify me on this cos my school doesn't give transcript by hand,i don't want to start running helter skelter now that interview is fast approaching.thanks

As long as each of the pages are stamped and signed by Registrar or Acting Registrar, it is good to go. Just my opinion sha, anyone that have experience on using student copy for visa application should please address this. Does each of the pages carries school stamp and signature?

Thanks.
Can someone also send Confirmation of Block Account to this email? If not please kindly furnish me with the email address to send Block Account Confirmation to.

pls I've never quoted on nairaland before but I need more info on how to go about German student visa pls I need to talk to u
Hi Carbrini, for German student visa you need to go to German visa website "http://www.nigeria.diplo.de/visa" and read about long stay visa, you will see information on student visa requirements and checklist. But before you start talking visa, you need to apply to schools and get your admission letter. Why waiting for admission letter, open your block account through Fintiba or Deutsche bank....... You will also find details of how to go about it on German visa website . Upon receiving your admission, book for visa appointment, get all your documents in accordance with checklist and go for interview. You have seen already typical questions being asked ,so practice accordingly. Also plan on how to fund your block account with about 8829 euro prior or after your interview. This forumn started from part 1 and it's already in part 4 with each part having 500 pages. You can also help yourself by starting to read from part 1/part2/part 3 till date. Best of luck!

Best Regards,

Collins
