Wow, what a case.

If he is telling the truth, and I hope he is, he may have a case.

Banning someone from entering the UK on the grounds that he cannot draw the logo of his bank? Is he an artist? Can the UK immigration offical draw the logo of his own organisation?
Your securing a visa does not grant automatic right of entry into the country. This is reserved for citizens or others who have right of abode in that country.

That guy is not educated enough. You cannot film on private property. I’m assuming that what he did from the evidence on the clip.

The woman is quite smart and witty from her responses.

On a lighter note I think she actually fancies the guy from the look in her eyes. And maybe she was only trying to chat him up. They say men are Mars women are from Venus.

People of colour who carry this race thing in heads are no better than the ‘racists’ they see in their heads.

Politics / Re: Recalled Envoy, Diplomat Arrive Today, Indonesia Defends Assault by Babanah: 2:29pm On Aug 12, 2021
olatade:
Nigerian diplomat, the aggressor, elbowed immigration official – Ambassador
THE Nigerian High Commissioner to Indonesia, Usman Ogar and a diplomat, Abdulrrahman Ibrahim, who was assaulted by immigration officers in the South East Asian country, will arrive in the country today.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this to The PUNCH on Wednesday as the Indonesian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr Usra Harahap, told the Minister of Foreign affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, in Abuja that the Nigerian diplomat was the aggressor during his (Ibrahim) encounter with some immigration officers.

The PUNCH had on Wednesday reported that Ibrahim was assaulted in a car by some Indonesian immigration officials in Jakarta.

The August 7 incident had sparked a diplomatic row between Nigeria and the Indonesian authorities with the Federal Government recalling Ogar for consultation, while threatening a review of the bilateral relations between the two nations.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Esther Sunsuwa, in an interview with The PUNCH on Wednesday, said, “The Federal Government will make its position known after consulting with the recalled Nigerian envoy expected to arrive in the country along with Ibrahim on Thursday (today).”

Recall that the minister had on Monday summoned Harahap over the assault of the Nigerian diplomat in Jakarta.

Our correspondent on Wednesday obtained a copy of the Indonesian envoy’s presentation to Onyeama during the Monday meeting.

Giving an account of the incident, the envoy disclosed that the immigration officers from South Jakarta Immigration Office were carrying out surveillance on foreigners when they asked Ibrahim for identification but the diplomat allegedly refused to identify himself or tender his passport.

He stated “By that time, they met with Mr Ibrahim, and politely requested him to show his travel document. He answered that his passport was in his room.

“Then the officer asked again, ‘Can we see your travel document to check the residence permit and if there are no problems with the document, so you may continue your activities

“Mr Ibrahim was not willing to show his passport and said to the officer, ‘you will know who really I am and be careful on that.

“Instead of showing his identity card, Mr Ibrahim was angry and said, ‘Just arrest me and you will regret to know who really I am.’

“The officer said, ‘We will not detain you further sir, if you can show us your identity card.’ Then Mr Ibrahim said, ‘Where is your car, I’ll come to your office.’

“On the way to the immigration office in South Jakarta, several incidents happened. Mr Ibrahim elbowed the immigration officer, Mr Laode Hauzan Baidi, who was sitting next to him until Mr Laode’s lip was bleeding.

There is some similarities between politics in China and Nigeria. The real politics takes place within the political party or parties.

We all know China is a one party state, so it’s citizens have little or no say in the affairs of state.

But for naija which is supposed to be a multi party democracy, e be like say the followership na mumu but am not too sure.

From what I learned, while China has the third most powerful military in the world, it military are not battle hardened as the rest of it’s contemporaries. So it is hard to know how Chinese forces would react to an initial set back on the battlefield.

My only grouse is the train should not have been allowed to depart given the treacherous conditions ahead.

Politics / Re: Nnamdi Kanu To Lose His British Citizenship - Kemi Olunloyo by Babanah: 6:52pm On Jul 09, 2021
Kanu is a Nigerian citizen by birth and origin his parents also being Nigerian citizens.
He later acquired British citizenship granted by the UK government.
His citizenship can therefore be revoked by the
UK government.
Under international law a state can revoke an individual’s citizenship provided the person has citizenship of another country. (Dual nationality). But no country has the right to render an individual stateless.
Recently a British citizen born and bred in the UK had her citizenship revoked by the UK government because she left the UK voluntarily to join the Islamic state fighters. She was later captured by rebels when the Islamic state fell.
The government held that since her parents are of Bangladeshi origin she also has rights to Bangladeshi citizenship.
This was upheld by the UK Supreme Court. As far as I know Kanu was born and bred in Nigeria.

Coldshisha:
They can't revoke his citizenship since he never commited any crime on UK soil.... If it had been in the UK he did all his nonsense with ESN, then his citizenship might get revoked after jailing him

I'm trying to make sense of your last sentence. Is presenting a forged document not the same as forging?

Section 465 of the Criminal Code Act, forgery is defined thus:

“A person who makes a false document or writing knowing it to be false, and with intent that it may in any way be used or acted upon as genuine, whether in the State or elsewhere, to the prejudice of any person, or with intent that any person may, in the belief that it is genuine, be induced to do or refrain from doing any act, whether in the State or elsewhere, is said to forge the document or writing”.

These guys and the judge are not getting it. The real issue is not whether the position she occupied required NYSC certificate or not. The question is- DID SHE FORGE THE CERTIFICATE OR NOT?

Do these people think they can play on everybody's intelligence?

In law, they say ‘you cannot build something on nothing’ so it may be difficult to convict her.

She has a responsibility to go through the normal channel to obtain an exemption certificate but she didn’t . Even if she chose used a proxy , she had a responsibility to confirm the authenticity of the document . She is as guilty as the forger for presenting the document .

That is left for the courts to decide.

But did she forge NYSC certificate or not?

She is not alleged to have forged her NYSC certificate.

She is said to have Presented a certificate which appeared to have been forged.

Forging and presenting a forged document are two different things.

She is British by birth and lived in the UK until she was 34. She is entitled to Nigerian citizenship in accordance with the 1999 constitution because her parents are Nigerians.

People can choose to return to Nigeria to do their NYSC, it depends on the individual’s personal circumstances. Not as a matter of law.

Some might be Nigerians who simply studied abroad and the thought of returning back home remains in their minds.

As she was new in the country, someone offered to obtain the “exemption certificate” (which she did not need in the first place) in order for her to gain employment in the country.
My submission is, she was a victim of an unscrupulous person who took advantage of kemi’s naivety to defraud her.
