FamilyRe: Why Do Women Lose Interest In Sex After Marriage? by Babanah: 4:36pm On Jan 18, 2021
RisenPhoenix1:
Women use sex to buy love. Men use love to buy sex. Like any economic transaction each party is looking to find a bargain, i.e. spend the minimum amount of their currency to purchase the maximum amount of the service they need. So once women have gotten the man's commitment, they will thereafter spend as little sex as is necessary to keep him from straying to another market. Whereas, once a man has acquired the woman's sexual favours, he will spend the minimum amount of love and commitment to keep her from withholding them. The best solution is to marry more than one wife. Thereafter, they can share the sexual burden among themselves, and the man can pretend to love all of them equally and share a little of his attention among each of them; satisfying all parties involved.

I am not trying to belittle his office but Buratai and the other military chiefs can mobilize and deploy men to different locations but chief of defense can not.
The COD comes in when the is a combined operations between the services. Say if there is combined action by both the army and navy who takes command? Such action will be coordinated by the CDS but has no direct control over individual services
PoliticsRe: Chief Of Army Staff Vs Chief Of Defence by Babanah: 11:41pm On Jan 16, 2021
A brief background to the creation of the CDS position.

In 1979 the outgoing Obasanjo led military administration decided to replace the retiring COAS, Gen TY Danjuma with Gen Alani Akinrinade.

However so after the new civilian government came into office, the decided to replace Gen Akinrinade (for obvious reasons).

They therefore decided to “elevate” him to CDS and was then replaced Gen Jalo as COAS.

Gen Akinrinade then retired from the military shortly after he was appointed CDS.

The noise got too loud, but now the noise can stop"

Now that you have committed suicide. Little did you know the noise just started at the great beyond. Suicide is not an option. Stay away from suicide.

I battled depression for ten years. My mom would always tell me, “ anytime you feel like killing yourself, just know that it’s the devil talking to you “. She stood by me and encouraged me everyday.

Today I’m thankful. I have overcome through Christ Jesus.
My friend, the logic for those who are depressed and later commit suicide is - The uncertainty of what to experience in death offers a far better prospect than what they are currently experiencing while alive. Very difficult to imagine the pain, such magnitude of pain does exist to lead someone to take their own life.

To the guys, inability to have or maintain erection may be a sign of your cardiovascular condition. See your doctor for a checkup first before embarking on exercises.
A good exercise regime together with a healthy diet should reverse the condition.
This no shortcut no quick fixes.
PoliticsRe: Meet Tom Tugendhat Who Accused Gowon Of Looting Half Of Central Bank Of Nigeria by Babanah: 8:24pm On Nov 27, 2020
eagleu:
Why so much hair splitting by biased and paid internet trolls about corruption during Gowon era is a surprise, but being Nigeria, always expected the impossible.

Gowon had the opportunity to lead Nigeria, lay a lasting foundation, and carry the nation forward, but he didn't. The guy knew his administrative limitations as a young military officer, he brought in Awolowo, promised to hand over after a few years, but what did he do? He reneged.

Shame on anybody who's arguing that because he went to UK from Ethiopia, he didn't carry Nigeria's wealth with him. Even by appointing, and allowing corrupt people around him, Gowon was guilty. Whether he carried a plane load of naira notes, or he transferred it gradually over the years, the effect is the same. It shouldn't even be a point of dispute, but here it is.

A young officer who went around telling people that Nigeria's problem was not money, but how to spend it should have looked back and apologized for some of his grandiose statements, but no, he has uninformed trolls spewing thrash on his behalf.

Whether Gowon is defended by a million paid trolls or not, the result remains the same today: Nigeria did not lay a good foundation for its future - thanks to Gowon, Jack.
You must be a very young person.
Who after the war came up with the notion of "No victor no vanquished"
In 1970 the Biafrans bombed lagos. We had to switch of our lights at night in Lagos. By 1972 Nigeria hosted the all African games. All Nigerians participated including our eastern brothers. In fact Nigeria came second. Yet a few years back the brothers were at each other's neck.

Who introduced the three r's reconstruction, rehabilitation and reconciliation policy after the war?
Who established the national youth service corp to foster national unity?

Whose government started the national development plan for the country. If these plans had been followed through, Nigeria should by now be like South Korea.

Who relied on the brains of top civil servants. Oxford and Cambridge educated Nigerians. Not the federal character civil servant you have these days.
Nigeria was well respected those days. We had people from India ,Thailand ,Philippines West Indies trooping to Nigeria for a better life.
The civil war was conducted without borrowing a pound.
Gowon administration still remains the best so far by all standards.
Nigeria was not just the giant of Africa, we were the pride of the black race.

So, because he was overthrown while on a conference in Kenya?
Did it mean he had no money in the UK already?
Oh, he didn't have time to collect his Ghana must go full of naira in Lagos?
What a shallow and childish understand.

Corruption was one of the reasons Murtala Mohammed overthrew him.
I know Gen Gowon better than you think. He is a very simple and humble person. We used to meet him at the Christmas party in Dodan barracks in those day near the tennis courts. My father was not a big man in those days.

I remember we used to have the chance to peep into his official car ‘NA 1’ with three stars whenever visits for official ceremonies like festac 2nd all Africa games etc.

Most of the developments in Lagos were initiated by his administration national stadium, national theatre, eko bridge, new Carter Bridge, Lagos badagary express road, trade fair complex, tin can island port, rebuilding of ikorodu road, western avenue, agege motor road, new Ikeja airport later renamed MMA. The list goes on.
General Gowon remains the most decent and sincere of Nigeria leaders no doubt.

Nigeria was at its heights during the Gowon regime. Since then every thing has been down hill till today

Let's not be emotional about this. Yakubu Gowon was in Ethiopia attending a meeting when he was overthrown. So how did he then move half of CBN? Did he come back to Nigeria to tell the new military govt to give him half of the CBN treasury? Impossible. Bring up your own "superior" logic.
The guy said the man LEFT NIGERIA with half of CBN money. Actually, Gowon went to the UK FROM ETHIOPIA after he learned of his ouster. So it doesn't add up.

MODIFIED: For all of you quoting me misunderstanding my logic, it's the lawmaker who didn't use the right words. He said Yakubu 'left Nigeria with half of CBN' meaning the looting was after he was overthrown and was done at once. He should have said "Yakubu stole half of the CBN while he was the head of state".
Gowon was overthrown why attending the OAU summit in Kampala Uganda and not Ethiopia.

In those days member states took turns to host OAU summits.

Gowon later left for the UK to study political science at the university of Warwick. From Bsc to phd.

He was pictured queuing for food at the university cafeteria. Which drew the aire of the new government in Nigeria at that time.

So much for someone who looted the CBN.

PoliticsRe: Femi Gbajabiamila On Death Caused By His Security Convoy by Babanah: 11:34am On Nov 20, 2020
Nigeria should have an Independent Police Compliants Commission to investigate the use of firearms by the police.
This is what happens in civilised countries. Once you discharge your firearm. The policeman in question is required to log a report on circumstances, number of firearms discharged etc. It will be now left for the commission to determine if the firearm was used lawfully or not.
This happens every time shots are fired by the police.
I think this will bring about some sanity with regards to the use of firearms.

My point is most of the Nigerian elite wanted to demonstrate their newly won independence by doing away with the past.
Most Nigerian apart from catholics do not bear Christian names anymore. During the colonial era you must have a Christian (English) name if you are a Christian.
PoliticsRe: Why Are All Northern Leaders Knighted B4 Nigeria Independence In 1960 by Babanah: 2:58pm On Nov 06, 2020
I think so of them rejected the knighthood. They saw it as relics of the the colonial past. Nigeria then was about to move into a new era.
Of what use is the title Knight of the British empire to a full blooded and proud Nigerian in those days. Does anyone remember the Christian names of Chief Obafemi Awolowo or Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe? If shows that they were true nationalists.
PoliticsRe: Why Is There No Electoral College In Nigeria's Democracy? by Babanah: 8:50am On Nov 04, 2020
My understanding is, states are allocated electoral votes. Some states have more votes than other. So the aim is to target the key states with the highest electoral votes in other to reach the magic number of 270. A bit similar to the geographical spread in the Nigerian constitution.

PoliticsRe: Zamfara, CBN Enter Into N5bn Gold Deal by Babanah: 3:46pm On Oct 07, 2020
NwaNimo1:
Gov. Bello Matawalle of Zamfara says that his administration has entered into a N5 billion gold supply deal with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The governor made the disclosure on Tuesday in Gusau, at a press conference to present the 31-kilogramme Zamfara processed gold.

He said that the state government would, at an agreed time during the year, supply the gold equivalent of the amount.

“Following the global acceptance of the high quality of the gold dug from the state, the apex bank approached us with the deal, which we believe is a good business.

“At the moment, we have commenced our gold reserve with this 31 kilogramme of pure gold and I have presented the sample of the commodity to the president.

“This is the first of time, in the history of our country, that a state will discover its internal potential in gold and channel it in developing the economy of the state,” Matawalle noted. shocked

He said that the state’s gold reserve would be deposited in an undisclosed designated place, which could be utilised in times of need.

“We have to diversify our state economy, especially with the bitter economic experience we went through as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, collapse in oil prices and other economic uncertainties cutting across the globe.

“In gold however, we expect better and higher returns than in other stocks because there is higher multiplier effect in gold and it will enhance the gains of our local miners towards the attainment of the Zamfara of our dream,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the governor did not state the current market price of gold so as to know how much it would cost the state government to buy the 31 kilogramme.

He, however, referred to google for the price, which he explained, changed on an hourly basis, sometimes. (NAN)
How can Someone be talking about ‘returns’ on gold?
CrimeRe: Hakeem Odumosu To Hold Area Commanders And DPOs Accountable For Police Abuse by Babanah: 12:25pm On Oct 06, 2020
What the government should do is establish an independent police complaints commission. This commission will be charged with investigating cases brought to it by members of the public. It will composed of human rights lawyers, members of the civil society and police men and women of proven integrity.

The commission will also be saddled with the responsibility of independently investigating ALL cases of use of firearms by the police. Whatever the reason or consequences.

The current police service commission should be scrapped and replace with the IPCC.
