PoliticsRe: Lagos Needs $50bn To Become Megacity by babasin(m): 11:03am On Nov 06, 2007
Must it be in dollars to ascertain the cost of transforming Lagos into a megacity? Why can't it be in Naira?
Naira is not covertible.

You cant change/buy it anywhere in the world except Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Adeboye, Redeem Church Leader In N20 Billion Import Waiver Scandal by babasin(m): 11:00am On Nov 06, 2007

PoliticsRe: How Is Our Foreign Reserves Helping Us by babasin(m): 10:41am On Nov 06, 2007
ONE year after it was launched with fanfare by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Lagos-Kano rail modernisation project may have screeched to a halt
.

Fund paucity threatens Lagos-Kano rail project
That explain why Nigerians roast on the road since no rail exist a country of 150Mil people

http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/news/article03

The first phase of the project, awarded to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), involves a 1,315-kilometre double track standard gauge rail lines. It is divided into five segments and costs $8.3 billion, excluding other administrative and consultancy costs.
PoliticsRe: In Germany, Yaradua's Wife Tries To Please Oyibo? by babasin(m): 3:54pm On Nov 05, 2007
What is the use of this meeting?

German President is powerless. The real power is with 'Kanzlerin'; who is now in ASIA Tour.

Yaradua should be meeting the right people.

The embassador to Germany has not done his home work, very well.
PoliticsAfrica Needs Marshall Plan? by babasin(op): 10:51am On Nov 05, 2007
EVEN though he admits that Africa's development lies in the hands of its people, President Umaru Yar'Adua has called for a Marshall Plan for the continent's advancement.
This yaradull is no-brainer!!

with $50B reserve, does he think any nation is interested in marshall plan for Nigeria?

Nigeria has enough human, capital resource to do its marhsal plan.

The President, who spoke on the challenges of globalisation, stated that his idea of a Marshal Plan for Africa could also be along the lines of the European Recovery Programme employed by the United States (U.S.) to rebuild the nations of Europe devastated by the World War II.
Plus the WEST is not interested in 'developed' africa; too much competition for them. China, Russia, Iran is already proving too much.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Fooling Who? by babasin(m): 9:38am On Nov 05, 2007
arrant nonsence - so because Obasanjo's son bought a house for 570,000 dollars, you want EFCC to go after him?
yes.

why did he go after IBB son simply because he has shares in globalcom?
PoliticsRe: Who Is Fooling Who? by babasin(m): 10:02pm On Nov 04, 2007
you must be a meaningless goat for posting a topic that makes no meaning- stupid, idiotic and arrant nonsense.
The replies have not answered or provided better reason instead result to abusing the poster.

This shows the poster is very correct and the abusers are in denial, denial of having been deceived by EFCC.
EducationRe: Nigerians In University Of Ghana by babasin(m): 7:11pm On Nov 04, 2007
I read with total shame how Nigerians go to Ghana and seek for admission into the UNIVERSITY OF GHANA by bribing the VC of the University of Ghana.
this is what you get when OBJ did not take care of 'Unis'

with our $40B foreign reserve, Nigerians have to go to school in a country with less than $1B reserve.

grin cheesy
PoliticsRe: Okiro Summons Adedibu Over Oyo Crisis by babasin(m): 7:07pm On Nov 04, 2007
ADEDIBU is the last problem OKIRO has to deal with for now.
there you go again!

You think Okiro is like your uncles; Tafa + Ehindero

If Okiro could solve Adedibu problem; Oyo State would be free. This would be evalasting legacy instead of legacy of corruption by your uncles
PoliticsRe: Vacancy At Us Embassy In Iragi by babasin(op): 10:27am On Nov 04, 2007
Let them come and take OBJ and NUHU who knows they might fight corrupt officers(Both US & IRAQIS) in iraqi.
yes and we might sent 'yaradau'; he will make all the 'terrorist' go to SLEEP

PoliticsRe: Who Is Fooling Who? by babasin(m): 10:24am On Nov 04, 2007
only a foolish Nigeria will not know that EFCC is pure rubbish.

Abacha did better with 'Failed Bank Tribunal'; real criminals were put behind bars.

The government must give us better roads that are maintained and effectively policed (like the German autobahns). Or simply build us bigger mortuaries. Our families have no tears left.

PoliticsRe: How Is Our Foreign Reserves Helping Us by babasin(m): 6:43pm On Nov 03, 2007
Our biggest problem is that most Govt revenue(85%) comes from oil.
so use part of the reserve to diversify the economy. and reduce $ to GOLD ration of the reserve.

reserve = 70% GOLD, 30% $

Confucius: excess and in-adequate are equally at fault.

$50B is exccess for country where there is no water, power, roads, school, security, life expectancy is 50yrs.
PoliticsRe: Okiro Summons Adedibu Over Oyo Crisis by babasin(m): 4:02pm On Nov 03, 2007
Adedibu, who was flanked by former Minister of Power and Steel, Elder Wole Oyelese; former governor of the state, Chief Kolapo Ishola, and former Military Administrator of Lagos and Ogun states, Brig. Raji Rasaki, described the media report as malicious and half truth and a calculated attempt by the newspapers (Saturday Tribune not included) to tarnish his image, saying “I don’t know why they are after me. I’ve committed no offence and I don’t know what could warrant their saying that I had been invited to anywhere.”
Atleast, OKIRO has some courage.

Ehindero + Tafa; they were spineless thieves.

Ordinary summon they cant issue for Adedibu.

So bad that Adedibu had 4-voting machines in his house, your uncle Ehindero was no where to be found: what a yeye IG. good riddance.

PoliticsRe: How Is Our Foreign Reserves Helping Us by babasin(m): 3:50pm On Nov 03, 2007
We don't have 1 cedi in our foreign reserves but about $50 billion dollars. So ignore HER (or HIM depending on what takes your fancy)
This is very possible; untill we see picture of all these cash plus documentary evidence; we should not believe them. That said

Nigeria has no business keeping $50B foreign reserve.

$20B is ok and we can use rest to improve our infrastructure and economy.

It allow the international business community to have faith in us and credibility that we have monies to pay for whatever credit or trade we transact with them.
This is not true. Belgium has $13B foreign reserve, Nigeria has $50B; So why are internation business have more faith in Belgium than Nigeria??

2.It allows us something to fall back in case of emergency
um are you sure; $ is fast loosing value. Serious countries keep their reserve in GOLD

3. If we need to carry out  major project like electricity we would have money to spend
so why do we start?  When half of Nigerians are dead and we have $100B, yielding benefit to US/UK?

How in the world is our money in reserves to yield benefits for only the US and UK?
1. simple the CASH is not in Nigeria or in CBN vault! It is held by UK/US banks. They trade with it.

2. US could print more money since we help to shore-up its value.

Way forward: Nigeria should reduce reserve to $20B. Keep GOLD reserve to another $20B

They should invest heavily in infrastructue(sensible ones) roads, power, education, foods, military and strength democratic institutions.
PoliticsRe: Barn Cigeratte Smoking In Nigeria And Close The Bats Factory In Oyo! by babasin(m): 3:32pm On Nov 03, 2007
The lagos state house of assembly through its deputy speaker is a makin the move to pass such law in lagos
absolute rubbish.

This is another mis-guided project.

Rather, Lagos state should control those pollution from 'molue', 'danfoe', 'trailers' and the fxxking garbage-burning place in Ojota over-headbridge.

We are going to invite all owners of drivers' license to rectify them, because 50 percent of them are faked."
sounds good. Nigerians always talk tough but rarely do anything correctly.

lets wait and see
PoliticsRe: How Is Our Foreign Reserves Helping Us by babasin(m): 10:51pm On Nov 02, 2007
I would suggest that till we sort out corruption issues in the country,
on the face of it looks OK but then NIgerians will suffer forever, if we wait to resolve this corruption problem.

meanwhile the money is yielding benefits for US/UK economy.

and what happens if $ loose its value?

I honestly think babasin and BIGB! are the same guy under a camouflage
like uncle and nephew.

This is same way your uncle 'Enhindero paraded some innocent guys for killing 'Ige'

sorry to disappoint you; babasin and Big B1 are two different people: Seun can confirm IP address for you.

alas; I am not surpise, your uncles 'enhindero + tafa' fed Nigeria with same false info until their luck ran-out

PoliticsVacancy At Us Embassy In Iragi by babasin(op): 4:40pm On Nov 02, 2007
On Wednesday, hundreds of US diplomats expressed their anger at the decision, calling it a potential death sentence
grin cheesy

but Iragi can go through this death sentence everyday due to Bush.

The US ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, has defended the state department's decision to force diplomats to serve in the country.
So why not job-less Nigerians apply for this?

TravelRe: Horrific Crash Involving Petrol Tanker On Lagos-Ibadan Road by babasin(op): 3:05pm On Nov 02, 2007
Such accidents and disasters can be avoided all together where there is will to make things work, but unfortunately the will is not just there. and that applies to all levels of government.
exactly.

This is what Nigerians should be fighting for. But every one said well my family is not involved.

How many more will die before improvement will be made?

with $40Billion in foreign reserve, Nigeria remains its own worst problem.
PoliticsRe: Babangida And Vatsa - A Widow's Pain by babasin(m): 9:36am On Nov 02, 2007
when are you going to shows all those 'killed by robbers' becuase you uncle Tafa + Enhindero stole money meant for Nigerian Police?

when are you going to shows pictures of ODI, a village, that was wiped-out by your brother-in-law OBJ?

grin angry

The BBC's Lagos correspondent Dan Isaacs says that the Benue killings recall an
earlier massare in November 1999, when troops were sent to the Delta town of Odi
to quell unrest after the murder of a number of policemen
PoliticsRe: Social Security For Nigerians by babasin(m): 9:07am On Nov 01, 2007
This is according to the President of the Senate, David Mark.
Only a fool will trust this guy who said 'telephony is NOT for masses'

so how do we know his 'social security is for the masses'?

this is nation that cannot even maintain a road and yet want to dable into 'databases'
PoliticsRe: Efcc Condemns Attempt On Ribadu's Chief Of Staff's Life by babasin(m): 4:12pm On Oct 31, 2007
If you blame the government, you are blaming nobody. Because government workers come and go.
so you saying we have no govt in nigeria since they come and go.

now that explains it but same 'come and go govt' can put $40BILLION into foreign reserve while their people die like chicken.

last time I checked there was 'minister of transport, minister of works' and there is Mr president that appoints these fellows.

and ofcourse Nigerians elected this Mr President.
PoliticsRe: Efcc Condemns Attempt On Ribadu's Chief Of Staff's Life by babasin(m): 4:05pm On Oct 31, 2007
SO it's OBjs fault people died on the street?
YES. He wasted 300billion and yet roads still full of PORT-HOLES.

Did OBJ tell the tank Driver to be speeding?
now you lie. where is your fact? what was the speed of the truck?

what is the speed limit to determine he was over-speeding(over the limit)

what is fact: driver was avoiding pot-hole!
