i used to be a strong critic of feminism and women empowerment because i felt men have better critical reasoning and better judgement,also other great countries have been largely rule by men eg the usa,but lately i have come to observe that there seems to be an anomaly in africa,could that be the reason africa has been historically taken advantage of , cheated ,enslaved and is poor?? what i observed is that African men are not critical in their reasoning,we are also largely very gullible,cowardly,emotional and unserious,we so much pride ourselves in doing negative things,we are so submissive to other races of men,yet we are callous to ourselves and our women,African women have observed,reason more critically,are less emotional,are generally serious and braver than we African men.I think we men need to ponder on these things.In general i think African men are weak,we pride ourselves with being physically strong but it hasnt help us in any way even in warfare,has we have historically lost more wars with other races of men,African men seem to be less intelligent than their women and other races men,i am a full African man,so this is not to castigate,but to state what exist,I think we African men need to withdraw ponder,to change things,especially we the younger generation.

What you have observed is a correlation ( relationship btw two variables which are sports viewing and illogical reasoning ) but correlation doesn't mean causation

Correlation doesn't mean causation can be simply explained as two variables occurring at the same time doesn't mean one occurred as a result of the other

For example,
Young men could have lost their logical reasoning as a result of other variables like lack of economic opportunities or lack of relationship opportunities not the viewing of sports.

In fact, sport viewing might be a way of dealing with the lack of economic opportunities and the problem young Nigerian men face in itself

These aforementioned arguments seems to be logical because there are other continents with a larger appetite for sports, but it hasn't affected their brain

In addition, Nigerians didn't just start sport betting or viewing sports and it didn't affect our logical reasoning then, why now ?

i get u,but what am just getting at is the way sport viewing consumes the minds of young guys,were we concern ourselves with nothing else other than football,most young guys discuss mostly about football and other relevant things, we hardly ever discuss any other issues,especially intellectual issues,this make guys less intellectual or logical and more emotional due to that emotional connection with their clubs,while girls discuss more intellectual issues or business ideas,which makes them increasingly intellectual,also football viewing on the scale it is now is far higher and intensive than yesteryears due to the higher availability of satellite tv and viewing centres which didnt exist in our parents time.it has made foreign football viewing more widespread than ever before,also i doubt other countries have this intensive followership and emotional connection to football teams outside

Well, football is a widely enjoyed sport in most European and south American countries today and the sport didn't originate from either Europe or south america

Most American sports are also imitations of global sports i.e. American football imitates rugby, basketball imitates netball. baseball imitates cricket and so on

Mind you, Africans have their own local sports. Ever heard of the local wrestling competition in Senegal

Our parents and senior ones where attached to local football clubs and leagues during their days and it didn't stop from doing rational things

Americans have about four major sports i.e. basket, hockey, American football and baseball which they could get attached too, but that doesn't stop them from making rational decisions

Europeans are more attached to their leagues than most Africans, but that hasn't stop them from achieving greater things
