TravelRe: My Experience At Inagbe Grand Resorts & Leisure Lagos (pictures Included) by Babateemd: 12:12am On Aug 03, 2017
Wakaholic:
I had an amazing experience with the happiest people on earth when we escaped from the hustle and bustle of the City of Lagos, to the charming Inagbe Grand Resorts & Leisure set on the serene banks of the magnificent Lagos Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean.

This beautiful resort is a hidden paradise located on Inagbe Island, which is about 15mins boat ride from Victoria Island. We set out from the Regatta Jetty on Queens Drive (now Oyinkan Abayomi Drive) in Ikoyi area of Lagos on a charter boat and had a memorable experience exploring this stunning resort which captures the essence of nature, culture and tradition.

Pros

Customer service here is top-notch. On a scale of 1 to 10, they rate an easy 9.

Cons

The rooms require attention to details and proper maintenance. We checked into a two bedroom chalet that had a terrible smell. We returned to our apartment about 10pm and discovered that the tap wasn’t running. The intercom wasn’t working so we had to walk all the way to the reception to get help. Eventually we were upgraded to the six bedroom apartment shortly before midnight. I slept like a baby; my room had the ocean view so I woke up to the calmness and peace of the environment.
Wifi was free but very poor.
More pictures can be found on my travel blog.
WITH ALL THESE CONS, YOU STILL RATED THEM EASY 9, PLEASE, AT MOST THEY SHOULD HAVE A 6. NO RESORT IN NIGERIA IS WORTH MORE THAN A 6. PROBABLY GIVE OBUDU A 7.5. PLEASE, LET'S TAKE THE OWNER TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS. THEY CAN FIX IT WITH WILL AND MORE INVESTMENT. IMO

BusinessRe: Paypal, Gtbank Naira Mastercard And Other Banks by Babateemd: 10:24pm On Mar 14, 2017
abbeynism:
I have been trying to pay for a domain to no avail for the past 3 days.
My payment method has been paypal (using my GTbank Naira Mastercard) but it has not been true. I thought the issue was with paypal or the registrar website.
I realized today that it is bank issue when I tried to pay on Vultr.com and I experience the same issue.
I do not receive any email from GTbank for ny previous notice.

I decided to pull a call through to the customer care and to my surprise I was informed that GTBank has blocked any transaction on PayPal.

I tried to use the domain registar and Vultr card processing yet no success.

GTBANK IS TRYING TO FORCE THEIR DOLLAR CARD ON NIGERIANS
Only time will tell whowill lose at the end.

SAME THING HERE. I HAVE BEEN TRY TO PAY FOR LIKE COUPLE OF DAYS NOW AND NOT SUCCESS. TRIED DIRECTLY AND IT WORKED...USE YOUR CARD DIRECTLY

Please I am asking the IM people what card has been working flawlessly on payPal or other international card processing platforms.

Please share with my working Nigerian Bank Cards.

Thanks.

this the worst autocratic dictatorship we have ever had in Nigeria. i regretted ever supporting Buharis government. He is the most inefficient president we have ever had. how can you go back to your vomit. a policy that brought us into trouble in the first place. you will see people taking dollars to overseas to open account where they can spend their money freely. I don't know the objective of this than plunging us further into depression. useless CBN.

MMM has reduced the amount of armed robbers on the street. finally people are getting some source of income and feeling happy. if only we could share the money Nigerian earns like this instead of giving 80% to the few guys to buy private jets. we will be better for it. there is always an end to everything even you Job. So if dem rob your house and take all your life savings, will you and kill yourself. So enjoy it while it last.

Car TalkRe: 7 Steps To Buy Your Car From USA And Ship To Nigeria Without Leaving Your Bed. by Babateemd: 9:24am On Oct 29, 2016
In this article, I will be taking you through the easy steps you can use to buy your car from USA and ship to Nigeria without leaving your bedroom. Virtually all car dealers in Nigeria follow these same steps to buy and import the cars they sell to you. I'll be proud to hear that you were able to import your car all by yourself after you read this post.

Steps to buy your car from USA and ship to Nigeria.

Register with a car auction website:

Online car auction is the safest and most reliable way to buy your car across the Atlantic especially when you do not have a well trusted ally over there. Don't make the mistake of sending your money to any dealership. Most importantly, never send your money to family and friends that are not well trusted as they may use your money to pay rent. Some of these auction companies offer free registration while others charge $200 (N91,000) initial registration as well as annual subscription. A few of these online car auction sites are copart.com, auctionexport.com, iaai.com etc. You will also need to submit your identification card as well as other required documents in order to increase your bidding eligibility.

Learn and understand the common terms used in car auction:

This is very important as the technical terms are tools you require to make purchase decisions. You need to know the meaning of salvage title, clean title, buy it now, pure sale, enhanced vehicle, engine start program, run and drive etc. You also need a basic idea of the location of the states in USA so your story won't be like that of a guy who bought a car in Oregon State thinking the car was in Orlando, Florida. He eventually paid additional $1,500 (N250,000) in shipping charges back in 2014. OYO is your case if you make such mistake today as you'll have to cough out N700,000.

Note that you cannot export a car that does not have a valid title. You should only proceed to bid if the car's title document is clean title, certificate of title or salvage title. You will not be able to export a car from USA if it has bill of sale or parts only certificate except the car is dismantled.

Search and select the car you want to buy:

This is the most tedious part of buying a car in Nigeria as you sometimes have to drive from Lagos to Ibadan in search of a car you may not like eventually. However, online auction gives you access to over 150,000 cars from your bedroom. Isn't that interesting?

At this point, you really need to shine your eyes. This is where most people make mistakes as they fall in love with a car that looks spotless in picture. Thereby ignoring the fact that the vehicle narration states that it has a front end accident. You may not see the front damage in the picture because the car may have been partially repaired by the insurance company before putting it up for bid. Hence, you have to pay attention to every single detail and don't just look at a car on the surface.

PoliticsRe: NBA Declares State Of Emergency, Demands Immediate Release Of Judges by Babateemd:
We are saying Gestapo style. I cry when I see victims of corruption defending corrupt politicians and judges. You are denied access to quality healthcare, good roads , good schools, good lifestyle and instead of you to defend yourself and get to the street to intimidate the corrupt people , you are worried about the Gestapo way of arresting corrupt politicians and judges. All these years that the corruption in the judiciary has been going on, what has the NBA done to curb it or rather they have aided it by working hand in hand with the selected corrupt judges. When a poor man steals 5000naira he gets a Gestapo beating but a judge collects bribe in millions and you want the constitution to work. I weep for my country and especially its youth. This is absurd. God will save Nigeria. Please don't come with rule of law nonsense again oh because we live in a country of selected justice for the few.

Car TalkRe: VIN Check: 1 Step You Must Never Skip Before You Buy A Car In Nigeria by Babateemd: 7:05pm On Jul 27, 2016
AutoJoshNG:
You may not need to do a physical inspection when you know the exact things to look out for. When in doubt, you can employ the service of a professional vehicle inspector for 90 dollars although I have used this service only once because of the year and cost of the car to be purchased.
Thanks. Which auction sites do you use and have best experience with? Do you ship to Lagos directly or through Cotonou?
Car TalkRe: VIN Check: 1 Step You Must Never Skip Before You Buy A Car In Nigeria by Babateemd: 4:41pm On Jul 27, 2016
AutoJoshNG:
The benefit of doing a VIN check in Nigeria before you purchase a car can never be overestimated. It will help save your hard earned money and most importantly your time amongst others. I have always known that some of us would do anything to sell our cars. However, the extent of this malicious act has grown from unreasonable to unfathomable.

You won’t believe what my eyes have seen as I am currently trying to get a 2007-2010 Camry for a client. The issues vary from flooded cars, rolled back mileage and extreme accidents to jalopy cars that look picture-perfect online. The car that drove me to the brink was a 2009 tokunbo Camry on OLX for N2m which looked good enough coupled with the usual hype from the seller.

Nevertheless, something seemed amiss because the price was too good. As usual, I requested for the car’s VIN to determine its history before going for a physical inspection. The disastrous history report revealed it was sold as scrap/destroyed car in USA and shipped to Nigeria 4 years ago, but the seller misrepresented this car to be a clean tokunbo, despite the fact that it has been registered and used in Nigeria for 3 years.

T[s]hese same reasons compelled me to start importing all my client’s cars from the USA and Canada in 2011, it has been cheaper and less stressful as the entire process from purchase to delivery is usually done from the comfort of my home[/b[/s]]. Fast forward to 2016, looking inward has become inevitable due to the sky-high dollar exchange rate. Therefore, clients with constrained budget have to settle for tokunbo cars while some prefer the Nigerian used cars.

Finally, when a deal seems too good to be true, then you need to be more careful e.g when the price is too fanimorous, the low mileage is not commensurate to the age of the car (e.g a 2001 model regular car will hardly have a mileage of 75,000 miles), when the seller wants you to take the car after paying 60% deposit while the balance will be spread over 3-6 months (in this case, the car is probably a Nigeria used car presented as tokunbo and it’s not worth more than your initial deposit so the balance you’ll be paying is extra profit to the seller) etc.

Let’s all make Nigeria great again.
