babaearly: i think akwa ibom is just a state masking itself. otondos need to be wise here mostly with women. The bolded shows how fresh an otondo you are. Abeg no loss oooo |
Guys I have lived through this our 13 yrs of democracy and has seen what the so called local content thing has done in many states in Nigeria especially roads. Any serious governor that wants to build good infrastructure pls give it to the experts.think of other ways of empowering ppl. If not they will dissapoint you. Period |
Abagworo: The reason is not far fetched. Julius Berger is getting all the juicy contracts at over-inflated cost and only employ indigenes as laborers. Most of their real staffs are living in Port Harcourt, Lagos and Abuja and travel there weekends to spend Akwa-Ibom money. Even when not in Lagos, you'll spot them in Calabar spending frivolously. Julius Berger sub-contracts are awarded from Abuja instead of Uyo to Northerners who in turn sublet them to Igbos mostly in Aba that will execute the job and pay Northerners their percentage. So at the end of the day nothing is left for the indigenes.Would you stop telling lies. Who told you that jb staff spends money at ph, Lagos and abuja. For your information, the regional headquaters for jb's SE and SS operations is uyo akwa ibom state. Stop fooling yourself. There is nothing like subletting contracts to any igbo or northerner anywhere. I know 7 good coys owned by akwa ibomites that supply jb all sorts of things they need. As we speak jb is expanding their life camp at uyo to accomodate more staff and you here lying to uourself that they spend their money at wherever. Jb has been the best thing thing to akwa ibom roads and infrastructure so please dont come tell be about those hit and run local contractors who have turned ph into a pot hole infested confused place. |
Guys run for your life SCAM!!!!!!!!!! |
Guys run for your life SCAM!!!!!!!!! |
When I see such write up I just shake my head in disbelief because it shows some people are either still dinosaurs or they are just outright brainless. Poverty ko poverty ni, what is the fool talking about. Establish cottage industries? To be run by who, who takes home the profit? How many do we have to travel this road for us to learn? Govt is a very bad business man so don't expect such industries to grow in any form. How many govt run companies in Nigeria are working? Name them is it the refineries, fertiliser plants, nepa, nitel, alscon, peacock paints, quality ceramics, qua steel, my brother the list is just ENDLESS! What akwa ibom needs which the govt has abundantly provided are infrastructure and the enabling environment for Private businesses to thrive. There are millions of businesses that have sprang up in the state since Akpabio came on board. Businesses are run by ideas so mr usen should go and use his thinking cap and stop being a lazy fool. Even in US and the UK, govt does not build cottage industries. Mr Usen talked about contracts not being given to indigenes. Its sad he is still suffering from memory loss. During Attah's time contracts were given to locals, what did they do? They all absconded with all the money to abuja and lagos, married new wives, sent their kids abroad without doing even 1% of the contract. Mr Usen should bury his lazy head in shame because here came a man that in 6 yrs have changed the fortune of akwa ibom state. Today Akwa ibom has the best road network apart from lagos and abuja. He has constructed the kind of infrastructure attah only dreamed of. Business in akwa ibom is booming like hell. Land today in akwa ibom is hot cake and indication of high demand and some lazy fool is talking about poverty and hunger.Development in akwa ibom is statewide contrary to what some ppl are trying to mislead the public that its all about uyo, ikot ekpene and essien udim. By the way development had left uyo and has engulfed all the nearby LGAs long ago. Itu, Ibiono Ibom, abak, ibesikpo, uruan, nsit ubium, okobo (where the airport is located) have all part of uyo metropolis today. Roads have massively been constructed in other towns like eket, oron, ikot abasi, the seaport is happening in mbo. The whole state has been transformed so big fools like mr usen who have raped the state dry in past administrations without establishing a sustainable business venture should look for better things to do than writing frivolous "memos" and seeking relevance. As for the OP who posted this I know your intentions and end game and I will not engaged you this time around or fall for it. Have a nice day! |
Omo_Tier1: Honestly I am very much worried by your level of intelligence! If anything, how many pilgrims fly through Akwa-Ibom? It is so glaring to anyone that the numbers will never add up. Any airport that can boast of over 400,000 passengers yearly will be a guest to at least four or five airliners daily, and this is not the case with Akwa Ibom airport.Proff of mathematics you sit in your corner and perform your elementary mathematics and you think you can convince anybody you are correct. The manager s of the airport have given their numbers PERIOD. Nobody needs your useless additions and subtractions. It comes to nothing. You better check your sanity because it seems the small arithmetic you are performing is sending you crazy. |
EEspeed: The maths is simple...it can NEVER have 500,000 passengers in a year...Akwa Ibom airport has only four fights daily...2 to abuja and two to lagos....except all the flights are with an airbus A380 and full...i wonder how they will arrive at that figure...I think the correct figure should be in the region of 250-300,000 passengers last year..and that on its own is quite an achievement. Are you forgetting that this same airport is responsible for pilgrims movement. |
CFCfan: @Eko Ile: Below is a youtube link documenting the achievements of Governor Akpabio:Guy pls dont waste your time showing eko ile anything. All eko ile knows is his minigod fashola. He will not appreciate anything you show him as far as its not done by his overhyped minigod fashola. You can show others but leave eko ile out of it. He is a bloody hypocrite! |
Eko ile is here again, this guy can't just hold his love for development of akwa ibom thats why he can't stop snooping around akwa ibom threads hahaha. Abeg eko ile you want to make this a fashola your paymaster thread abi? No way......its about akwa ibom and akwa ibom alone. Leave us immediately! Hahahaha |
goldenbrown: young man I'm ashamed of you becos u will be shot or barnish just like the visionless Minister of Niger Delta Affairs who is a fraudster. I can see your statement was culled from the statement he made yesterday. Clap your hand cos u are a sharp guy. I don't think u know where PH is relocated on the map of Nigeria. What has Akpabio done if not for roads. His people are crying for employment and you are here praising him. Have u been to Akwa before. What has he done to reform the education sector. All villages and hamlets in Rivers state has a modern sch with facilities and teachers. Modern second schs which are bigger and equiped than many of the universities in Nigeria. Over 300 students are sent to the best universities in the world under Amaechi's govt. More local manufacturing industries developed and foreign investors trouping into the state for establishment. And here u are comparing Akpabio with Amaechi who has a better plan for his people and had pleaded to take over the construction of East West Rd which is a major challenge in the region. Is that not enough for accoutability. What has the minister of ND affairs done with the huge ammount of money allocated to him ever since he assumed office. Godday Oruebebe is a failure and I reckon you are one of his couterparts who has better share of not being a winner.Who is talking about oruebebe here. I am comparing amaechi and akpabio. Wetin bring oruebebe for the matter now. Abeg if you are so clueless and lack what to write get to the nearest transformer and hug it. For your information I am a full fledged akwa ibomite. I have lived both in akwa ibom and rivers state. Don't you ever compare what akpabio has done for akwa ibom and what amaechi is doing for rivers. The whole world knows and acknowlwdges how akwa ibom today has been transformed and you are here mentioning a failure Amaechi. Ph today is a slum despite all the oil companies there. Akwa ibom today is receiving massive investment that is making the state a destination of choice. The quality of infrastructure in akwa ibom that will drive the economy in the near future can only be in the dreams of you and your paymaster amaechi. Nonsense |
goldenbrown: U guys are making music out of the name "Akpabio". What has he done in the area of youth empowerment? In the educational sector what can u say of him?. Health, Power, job opportunities, how far? He only focused on road construction in his sparsely populated state capital. How far his rural areas? The rural areas in Akwa Ibom is not worth writing about compare to the lousy name of the Govt who over the years has been sustaining on 80 Oil wells looted from Rivers state. If not for the crazy Amaechi who has been destined to win every court case. Thank God he has shifted his oil well looting to his Cross River brothers thereby improverishing them. Yet His people are crying "Akpabio Give Us Work! No be road we want shop" I reckon all those lauding the appraisal of Akpabio are not Akwa Ibomites. They are those who see things through the eyes of another and also hear through the ears of another. If Akpabio has done well, he shouldn't be scared to stay in his Govt House. Y has he been running. Incase you don't know, Akpabio is one of the major element misleading Jonathan since ND Governors are gradually deserting him cos of his Snail AdministrationAre you high on some cheap weed or something? Abeg if you no get wetin to write waka comot for here! |
abagoro: You are taking things personal instead of being objective. I wrote clearly that Akpabio only achieved roads and to me it is nothing compared with the amount given to him. Amaechi achieved Health,re-orientation, education/schools, agriculture and resuscitation of some industries like PABOD and Rivers feeds. Amaechi equally achieved roads but not up to Akpabio. I also wrote that Amaechi wasted funds on monorail. My friend I am not taking things personal here. I try as much to be factual as possible. You say akpabio only achieved roads. What about the airport, seaport, the e-library, the new specialist hospital, the infrastructure at uniuyo and its teaching hospital both federal institutions, the akwa ibom state university, the recreational parks, the free education programme, the stadium, the tropicana, the renovation of both primary and secondary schools, the list is long. Akpabio is building a lot with the money he has. Amaechi has money too but apart from those primary schools I seem to wonder what he is doing with his money. He started out well but seemed to loose focus later thats why he doesn't compare with akpabio |
Abagworo: All those praising Akpabio for mere construction and painting of roads in 6 years of monthly 16billion Naira are rather myopic. When Queen visited Nigeria in the 80s or so, she called Nigeria a developed country because Nigeria invested its oil boom revenue on roads and visible infrastructure without laying good foundation for education, health, agriculture and technology. Today all those roads that were painted by Julius berger are now death traps. The only major achievement I'll see in Akwa-Ibom is the Ibaka port scheme if it materializes. Amaechi has done well in Rivers by focusing on health, youth re-orientation, agriculture and education. The roads being constructed in Rivers are necessary because there are vehicles and people to ply them quite unlike Akwa-Ibom that is for decoration. Amaechi is also constructing monorail for decoration.Mr man please can you stop talking trash, how much is rivers state collecting plus its igr.how dare you compare akpabio with with that failure called amaechi. PH used to be a garden city but today its a complete slum no thanks to amaechi. Anyone travelling from ph to aks will immediately see the difference. Amaechi is a failure my dear. Rivers state should be currently thinking of replacing him fast. |
Abeg fashola should stop opening his mouth anyhow to talk trash, everywhere in Nigeria will survive without oil. He should remember that if oil goes today the lagos igr some people here are making noise about will drop significantly because all the oil and gas idustry workers will no long boost his igr with PAYE as they will all leave. Every state in Nigeria will survive very well. They say necessity is the mother of invention so when that happen will all go back to agriculture. |
Mr Eko there is no need to answer you because what you just typed here shows how Ignorant your about the affairs of Akwa Abasi Ibom State. I am talking about real completed federal projects with pictures to back up and not some infinite project in some ministers file in abuja. I challenge you mr eko and your paymaster to commence the construction of the fourth mainland bridge if you people have the balls to do so. Please kindly inform nigerians the additional flyover lagos state government constructed to ease traffic in lagos. Lagos should be very grateful to the FG for building the immense infrastructure in Lagos. Eko bridge, carter bridge, third mainland bridge all constructed by IBB. The lekki ikoyi bridge is being sponsored by lagosians through a 500naira tolling structure. Eko Ile hide ur ugly face in shame. I am not going to include the wonderful skyscrappers at marina that served as former FG agency headquarters and bank headquarters. The embassies that served nigerians where priviledged to be dotted around ikoyi and VI where also built by LASG. All this Infrastructure came with human beings who lived, bought land, built bussiness, homes etc that made lagos what it is. Abi na airport, two seaports, both serving as headquaters, abeg I dont need to continue. Shame on you eko ile, you cannot deceive nigerians with ur propaganda machinery. We all know how lagos came to be so you don't need to tell us how developed lagos is. Its by the sweat and toil of all Nigerians not by some mafia run govt headed by Tinubu. |
Abagworo: This thread has turned into a rivalry which I believe is good as it will make the Governors involved work harder if it were so in reality. Anyone saying Akpabio has not done a lot is only lying to himself but the issue here is that the work so far is in no way commensurate with the huge amount spent. 2ndly it is wrong to view him as a messiah because nobody can have access to such huge fund and won't do anything at all. Imagine if he was receiving only 2.6billion like most other States, will he be able to engage in any capital project?Mr man why are still spining crap? I also ask you what would your fashola and amaechi have done if they received the same amount. Fasola today is benefitting from the fact that lagos was former capital of Nigeria. Fashola should be very grateful to the FG for helping him setup lagos with oil money. If not ekiti for better pass am. Amaechi today also benefited from the fact that the federal govt had invested a lot of infrastructure the there viz a refinery, a petrochemical plant, two sea ports, port harcourt and onne, a fertilezer plant, two airports-one international and one millitary. Can you name the infrastructure Nigeria I mean FG built in akwa ibom apart from ALSCON? Here now comes a man who is building akwa ibom infrastructure from scratch with state funds-an airport, seaport, motorable expressways, international standard hotels, schools, hospitals, technology, stadia, housing etc and you dare open you stinking mouth to ask what he could have done with 2.6 million after your paymasters have ridden on the sweat of all Nigerians and come out here to boast of mediocrity. Its not about the money but its about trying to solve your peoples peculiar problem, Lagos problem is how to manage the available infrastrature to cope with the already existing large population it has as a result of it being a former capital of nigera. Akwa ibom problem on otherhand was a total ABSENCE of infratructure. So you see trying to prove the point that lagos is more developed than akwa ibom is an excercise in futility. The crux of the matter is who is doing a better job in solving his peoples problem. I think Akpabio is doing a damn good job. By the way with 2.6.billion a lot can be done.Donald Duke did it in cross river and heavens did not fall so its no excuse. Some governors today are also doing it today so if your governor if lazy, 2015 dey vote him out. |
rhymz: Eko Ile na wa for you sha. . .how is Delta State richer than Lagos na. Delta collects 16billion monthly and Lagos collects 10billion monthly plus the huge 23billion they get from IGR. Even with aids agency for the Niger deltan states like NDDC and co, Delta state does not get up to 15billion with all that combined besides the monthly allocation. I know you are passionate about your points and views but please stop making random statements and quotations you can't prove with facts and real figures. Lagos today still remains the richest Nigerian state, oil derivation or not. You call these other states richer because they get way higher amount through their derivations not neccessarily because they are rich per se, no need to exaggerate and make suggestive statements that do not have facts. Whatever accusations you have for AKS government should also be extended to Fashola's government, period. Enough of the Lagos propaganda machine. You keep talking about how Lagos has 20million people, do you realy believe that crap? You are so eager to quote 4-5million population given by the Nigerian census board for AKS but fail to do thesame for Lagos whose population figure they put at around 10million. Stop with the eaxggerations abeg. Lagos do not have up to 20million people, the small Land area of Lagos state seems to give the wrong impression that its population is that much, it is common sense my guy, with its small landmass, and high population figure, high population densities will be recorded in most of its area, does not neccessarily mean people are as much as exaggerated. Take that same population figure of Lagos and spread it across AKS that is like more than twice the Land area of Lagos state and you will get an entirely different impression of the actual population. So stop hinging your argument on population like Lagos is some shanghai, Mumbai or California city with both large mass and population. Again, I am going to say it, there is just as much corruption in Fashola's government as there is in Godswill Akpabio's. They have both done their bit but their is not totally the best we can get. I will rate chime higher than the both of them, seriously. Until there is a commensurate evidence of development with the huge sums the both get then tell your tales to the pope he prolly will believe all that sugar-coated propaganda.Gbam you hit it right there. Correct guy. |
Abagworo: Let us use common sense and stop all these "I better pass you" arguments. Anambra State for example has more problems than Akwa-Ibom be it infrastructure, population or urbanization. Both Anambra and Akwa-Ibom got 2.7billion as statutory allocation and Anambra is expected to pay the workforce, take care of 3 major cities and higher population. Same is expected of Akwa-Ibom but there is another 11.2billion which is 5 times the income of Anambra State which comes as jara from oil. In assessing the performance of the Governors, I don't see Akpabio as doing well. He has only succeeded in road construction and painting after getting extra 11.2billion monthly for 6years. I believe he is presently Africa's richest man.Do people think befor they type at all? So because your anambra has self inflicted problems it should receive more money while akwa ibom should receive less abi? Silly real silly . You are saying also that akwa ibom oil money is awuf money abi?, thunder fire ur eye there. For ur information it is just 13 percent who is spending the other 87 percent. God punish you! Leave akwa ibom alone enuf of all these jealousy. Akwa ibom is on the right track.there is no neede for the comparison. Every state should deal with its problems. |
emiye: Akwa Ibom collects at least 4 times what Lagos state earns in Federal allocation (oil revenue + VAT).I think people should be careful when comparing Lagos with other states in Nigeria, lagos was capital of Nigeria for God's sake. I hear ppl say hear that akpabio is developing only uyo. What a big lie! Development has touched both the cities and villages in akwa ibom state. The so called development in lagos is mainly driven by the private sector. All the tax they say they generate ends up in tinubus pocket. The only road built in the whole of the lekki axis is being tolled by greedy tinubu. They forget that if not for the fact that lagos was capital of Nigeria, infrastructure like the third mainland bridge would have NEVER and I repeat NEVER been built.all the whole of victoria island and marina would have never happened. People should spare me all this silly talk of fashola is working. |
Goshen360: The oil usage and/or anointing is ONLY scriptural when used within the scriptural context. Dedicating a "special service" to oil wherein church people are asked to bring bottle of oil is nothing than a ritual and herbalistic practice in the body of Christ. It is not different from going to herbalist and get something to use. Now, I know you know the scripture but let's stay in context here.God bless you joor... People want to practice christianity as if they are practicing juju... E no go work! |
I think the topic should rather read "how some churches and members abuse the use of anointing oil", the use of anointing oil is scriptural but the abuse today by some churches and their members is what I don't understand. You see, I have a friend, when she was sick, we all prayed, the pastor was invited and we all prayed together and anointed her with anointing oil as prescribed in James. I expected her to take a rest and allow God to his thing but NO immediately she started feeling the symptoms of the illness she grabbed her own olive oil and started rubbing it all over her body with serious prayers pleading of the blood of Jesus. It was as if nobody had ever prayed for her before. To me it showed me she believed in the "powers" of anointing oil than the power of the spoken word of God. |
Default01: Akwa ibom only has uyo bt in delta state u need to duplicate projects bcus we hav more developing cities dan any state in dis country,if u do somtin 4 asaba my guy u hav 2 do sam 4 warri, and even oghara maselfHelloooooo.......are you for real? Did u think b4 writing this down, haven't you heard of ikot ekpene, eket, abak, oron and ikot abasi? These are cities on their own in akwa ibom. By the way the uyo you talk about has developed into all nearby LGAs e.g. Uruan, ibiono ibom, ibesikpo, etinan and itu. Other cities are being planned as we speak like ibaka in mbo. So guy akwa ibom no end for uyo oooooo. Try and travel. |
Zab: HAHAHAHA. LOL. OGA MARK YOUR THOUGHT IS A GOOD ONE BUT I FEEL IT WORKS IN AN ENLIGHTENED/FORWARD THINKING STATE.ETHNICITY HAS EATEN DEEP INTO OUR SOCIAL FABRIC.Who is this fool to mention akwa ibom state as a state with low cut off marks, did you take jamb at all?please go check your brochure if you ever bought a jamb form. Silly |
Please............I don't believe this story, at govt occasions are seats not reserves for most dignitaries and I know governors are not ppl to forget. Hw can they say they reserved a seat for obi and not rochas-a governor. Whoever started this knows his intention. |
pheesayor: I was at a conference in Uyo in July, the deputy gov came to deliver a speech and he bragged about the fact that you can drive through uyo without encountering potholes, I Said to a friend, 'bring the vehicular population of Lagos here and watch potholes invade'. Oyo and Kano don't have as much Cars, they don't have as much generators that cause air pollution. Kano is not even as populated as Lagos, 4get what the census saidHmm, you miss the point. According to you more cars more potholes, new york and other world big cities suppose don collapse by now. Development is meant to be dynamic. I would rather expect more vehicular traffic better construction designs. I expect lagos to have better designs for their roads because of the high traffic but no, I still see poorly designed road around me. |
pheesayor: some or most of these roads are meant to be fixed by the local governments and most of them are answerable to Tinubu. also the lcda structure is affecting the state. they share the allocation meant for one lga, they need to become full lgas. with the resources at his disposal, fashola is trying, road projects are being completed, other sectors too are working. The population of Lagos is the real problem, take the population of Lagos to akwa Ibom and watch the state collapse, Fashola is trying AgbegbePlease keep akwa ibom out of your discussion, what do you mean by take the population of lagos to akwa ibom and the state will collapse, does oyo state not have population, has the state collapsed, does kano state not have population, has it collapsed. did the population appear overnight, is the state not supposed to grow with the population. Its all about responsible leadership my friend, don't use population as an excuse it should rather be used as an advantage. |
@dollarman I stand by you because there is nothing the FG has to show in akwa ibom, akwa ibom is not part of nigeria immediately it comes to FG project. Akwa ibom will be last state to visit(if they even come oo) because by then people must have all forgotten about the tour. |
aribisala0: I know Ak well. Akpabio has spent a lot of money in Uyo besides that little else. I have been to Ibeno and it is diappointing crucially he has done little to diversify the revenue base and there is one crucial point which you must know if you know AK . Poverty in this state is one of the highest in Nigeria which is why I laff when they say Boko Haram is due to poverty. AK is destitute in the rural areas where often there is no electricity add that to a strong belief in withch craft and you understand poverty. AK needs and education strategy, employment strategy and a revenue diversity strategy because of all the oil producing states it benefits MOST from OFFSHORE oil which Abokis are fighting to reverse. Not correct brother, akwa ibom before now was nothing to write home about I mean absolutely nothing, also before now lagos has been the capital of nigeria meaning it enjoyed the luxury of hosting the high and mighty in nigeria, investments you can name it(with oil money by the way). My point is there are so many private interests today in lagos because of this history. Now going back to akwa ibom you said development is only in uyo, I disagree with you totally. There has been massive development in other towns like eket, ikot ekpene, abak, oron, ikot abasi just to mention a few. There has also been a lot of inter local government roads covering hundreds of kiometers. The ibeno you mention hosts exxonmobil and the road linking eket and ibeno was awarded by nddc but when the govt observed that nddc were messing up they had to intervene and started getting the whole road dualized.Ibeno today has a general hospital, and other amenities the FG could not provide for all the years of oil exploitation. Akwa ibom I mean the whole state not uyo alone has the bests roads in nigeria today apart from abuja. It has an airport, the first state owned functional airport in nigeria, the seaport is coming up, tourism and entertainment centers are under construction, hospitals, schools, agriculture,SMEs etc. akwa ibom is competing and has even beat a lot of older states in terms of development and does not need a rural/agricultural development strategy but rather a complete mix that integrates both the urban and rural dwellers together. Akwa ibom has made a quantum leap and is setting the stage for the development of what you call plan B and you know it so let's appreciate that first.I am ok with it but more work needs to be done. by the way talking about poverty, it is nationwide, the level of poverty in akwa ibom villages is far better than the slums we see everyday in lagos, these are places I cannot survive for 10 mins. Many akwa ibom communities have electricity and live in better healthier environments |
rman: Which one is a political road again?I really laff what nonsense r talking about, apart from the political(tolled to enrich Tinubu and co) can you tell me any other road in the whole area being constructed by the LSG. Comparing akpabio with fashola hmm big joke, until you visit aks don't say anything, your jaws will drop! I assure you |
No no no, I will not vote fashola, I would rather vote akpabio,I see nothing but commercialization of government in lagos state. the population of ppl suffering in lagos is unimaginable, its only the super rich that don't work live in lagos, others are dying in lagos, we need to see more government roads, water, education etc not political roads like the lekki epe expressway. |
I think the govt of lagos have gone gaga crazy on this one. I am trying to tie development of a society to the ability to speak the language of a superpower. This will not add value to us. French language that is more important because of our african neighbours has not made much progress since it was made compulsory in our schools at least up to jss. Instead of making subjects that will bring out the entreprenaurship spirit in our youth so that they can develop within their environment they are talking about chineese language, I wonder why most of other asian countries have not "adopted" chineese. this is total waste of time and resources. Tell the lawmakers to fling the stupid idea into the dustbin. We have soooo many issues to deal with not one silly chineese language. |
