PoliticsRe: Would You Re-elect Your Current Governor? by BabaTony: 10:19am On Jul 19, 2013
Akwa ibom

I will not for the ff reasons:

1. This is his 2nd tenure.

2. We have seen his very good and purposeful effort in infrastructure especially roads, airport, tropicana, e-library, stadium etc and to some extent education now we need someone else that leverage on this to develop other sectors bbecause I don't see him capable of doing that.

3. His cousin prince akpabio and other politicians are very very greedy. So we need a change in status quo. They loot like complete idiots.

4. Eket senatorial zone needs a shot at the governorship position.

5. No condition is permanent. CHANGE IS CONSTANT.

Business To BusinessRe: NDDC Contract For Sale by BabaTony: 5:44am On Jul 11, 2013
esedadon: Pls stop disturbing my thread, you are accusing me of been a fraud and 419, yet we haven't met or have any dealings. Well, I'm not afraid because I'm legit. I always smile when different people call to say they have verified the contract and its authentic and they are ready to deal, the best of all is, buyers don't pay till they have power of attorney to the contract. If I have scamed anybody, you would have seen different post with detailed prove about how I fraudulently duped any company or anybody. Destiny can only be delayed, not denied. I leave my faith to God, judgement day, U will answer to this wrong accusation. I rest my case
You better leave God out of this matter before thunder will strike you dead. You are a fraud and you will soon be smiling inside the EFCC net. You know this.

seunfly: I think Calabar is the latest place that is attracting investment beside Lagos and Ogun state, i wonder why they are ignoring Akwa ibom despite the all the infrastructural developments.
Not correct, there is no ignoring of any state. The investor is doing what any investor will do. Site the factory near raw material and market. In this case its limestone and its found in abundance in akamkpa near calabar. Dangote did the same. At least we have reduced tremendously the importation of cement.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan to launch "FACINATING NIGERIA" Today by BabaTony: 8:29pm On Jul 05, 2013
I watched that rubbish yesterday. Poor organisation, too much about nollywood, they nearly fought over who was introduced and who weren't culminating in the forceful introduction of clarus of new masquerade by some women. Very poor conceptualization. Potrayed a very empty Nigeria. Very limited scope. I was very ashamed watching it. Absolutely nothing to entice any tourist. Mods FP please.

PoliticsRe: GEJ Opens The 600meter Bridge At Ibeno (PICTURE) by BabaTony: 9:13pm On Jun 29, 2013
For those of you who say this bridge doesn't exist and claim to be from ibeno it is either you are a bloody liar or you never reach house for long time or you just like typing rubbish on nairaland without doing a proper cross check on things or you no sabi any for your own local government.

Read below:

As most   communities in the country continue to enjoy the provision of democracy dividends, 30 communities in Akwa Ibom State are  now grateful for having direct contact with their kith and kin for the first time since their existence as a people due to the construction of an almost one kilometre bridge in the mangrove terrain of Ibeno. Correspondent ANOLU VINCENThighlights  the benefits of democracy dividends as the Federal Government gets set to commission  the  project.A very passionate mood expressed by both the old and young comprising men, women, jumping, dancing, singing and praising God for giving them a new lease of life was occasioned by the construction of the all important Ibeno bridge located in Iwuoachang-Ibeno Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. This, indeed, informs a visitor to the area that they were overwhelmed with joy because they could now interact with their kith and kin in their neighbouring communities which had eluded them since creation. One of the community leaders in the area, Ibrewong Andrew, recalled how difficult it was for the communities to access neighbouring communities because, according to him, they were separated by the river which connects to the Atlantic Ocean. In the words of Ibrewong, “now we can easily cross the river through the bridge and go anywhere in the world we wish.”He recalled with disrelish, that the many deaths being recorded in the communities by boat accident (which occurred regularly) and the difficulty which the people had encountered by sending their sick people and pregnant women to access better medical facilities elsewhere, had joyfully come to an end.“We say thank you God for making us see this new day. We did not know that a local contractor could do this kind of quality project, which other foreign firms had rejected because of the bad terrain of our area. We recommend that the federal government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in their usual magnanimity should extend the contract to the remaining communities of Ntafere, Ntabirikang, and Opolom,” Andrew stated. The 6.5 kilometre road/bridge project which is called Iko-Atab-Rikang-Akata-Opolom- Ikot-Ewang-Okoroutip-Iwuochang road was awarded by the NDDC to a local contractor – Viche Resources Nigeria Limited. The decision to award this particular project was as a result of second-thought syndrome after having tried other foreign firms which could not succeed due to the swampy terrain of the area. However, the project did not take off immediately due to certain challenges bordering on design, community skepticism, and so on.Despite the numerous challenges encountered by the contractor, it had one option, which was to ensure the job was delivered to Nigerians at least to prove that indigenous contractors could execute major and challenging construction projects no matter the terrain of the area involved, even in the country. To this end, Viche Resources Nigeria Limited delved into action and deployed all the best local engineers available to be able to give to Nigeria, what one could refer to as an engineering marvel.
BusinessRe: Work Begins On Onitsha Shoprite. by BabaTony: 8:02pm On Jun 29, 2013
EASTSIDAZ: Conversely those state should come and borrow ANIDS development plan in Anambra. Development is beyond road painting and planting grass. AK citizens with all the oil money are still my cook and gateman, so much poverty in the face of huge allocation. As for Enugu state the state is about 15percent urban and 85percent rural. The gov has succeeded in working on only 15percent of the state for 6yrs.

Obi is an all rounder working on the 177 communities and three major cities of Awka , Onitsha and Nnewi at the same time. Its a feat worthy of emulation.

EDUCATIONALLY LESS DEVELOPED STATES (ELDS)Certain states are considered educationally less developed or disadvantaged. The following states are considered Educationally Less Developed or Disadvantaged States (ELDS): Adamawa, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno, Cross River, Ebonyi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Kastina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe, and Zamfara.

My point? Akwa ibom is not on that list

ogb5: Once a scientist always a scientist.
Gej should remember that his home state of beyelsa is still listed a an educationally disadvantaged state.

Only beyelsa and akwa ibom is on that list in the South and akwa ibom is fast leaving bayelsa behind.

He should do all to promote Education in his home state.

Governments don't bring industries to a place. Whats does is good infrastructure (which the government has provided), market viability (160 million ppl no be small market, capital (I know the government and some relations are ready to provide but some ppl rather just buy cars and droive around with it and ask for more and finally your brain (this one God give every akwa ibom person but some have totally refused to use it). By the way must industries always come in? Why can't you start one no matter how small. Use your brain brother and encourage others to do same, industries go plenty, have a nice day!

olawalemanog: This bridge reminds me of those empty tarred roads i used to see at Kolo creek. Shell was made to construct them and it happened that only shell was using them because no one else did.
Hello. ... have you been to this bridge before? I'm sure not. That bridge will serve its purpose which is linking communities on the island with the mainland. The fact that it wasn't constructed in your village does not make it not to be used. If you think those communities are only good to produce oil from then you better have a rethink.

Pedagogue: .@ Okija Ojuju aka Mr. Constructive critic, I read your posts and I find your posts very irreconcilable !!!

In 1 bit u said the bridge is"waste of Ibadan's scarcely available money" and that they should build for the future and not today- AFTER SAYING THAT IBADAN (Oyo State) does not have money, don't you think the bridge is the best the govt can construct with its "scarcely available money " ?

In another bit,u said the state will witness population explosion if a govt with good economic policies come to the fore..and this will render the bridge useless because of traffic nightmare- MY BRODA, HAVE U EVER BEEN TO IBADAN? DO U EVEN KNOW WHY D BRIDGE WAS CONSTRUCTED IN D FIRST PLACE? I think many Niaralanders just post without knowing what they are talking about!!!

@ the pictures of Akwa Ibom, those bridges and roads are superb! In fact, d picture overawes the mokola bridge in question!!! But do u think that's what the state urgently needs! Well, im glad u at least agree that the state does not need "something that BIG at d moment". I stand to be corrected on this- AKWA IBOM IS THE LARGEST EXPORTER OF HOUSEMAIDS AND SECURITY MEN IN NIGERIA! Infact, my maid and security man are from there!!! Are these people in their beautiful 'bridge and flyover constructing city' ? The answer is NO!!! They are all in the small flyover and 'rural like bridges states' like Oyo State - doing Yes Ma and Yes Sir!!!

My point is, u cannot expect Oyo State to give what it does not have!!! D state does not have d big allocation that Akwa Ibom receive...and so cannot give what it cannot afford!!! But if we are to judge Akwa Ibom State (for instance) and the present Oyo state govt based on meeting the yearnings and aspirations of the ppl on the basis of the resources of the states and needs of the people, oyo state govt wud WIN flatly !!!
Hey just hold it there.... it seems you didn't have good home training to just wake up and start insulting peoples ethnic group. Do you know who you will meet tomorrow and need assistance ? I hope that your statement about about akwa ibom ppl doesnt haunt you tmrw. I have so many abuses and curses I can rain down on your ethnic group but I will leave it for now. What does the fact that the bridges built in akwa ibom being better than your bridge have to do with calling akwa ibom people names. I think you need to get some literacy.

So eko ole the tout, this is what occupied your time throughout today. Joblessness na wa ooo. Eko ole you can foool yourself on nairaland for the rest of your life if you can. The truth stands by itself. Akpabio beats your paymaster hands down. I cannot count the number of "mai ruwa" fetching water from all sorts of places to supply people in lagos. Water supply of any form is not in your paymasters agenda. Those pictures only confirm that akpabio makes sure every community no matter how hinterland it is gets good water for use. If ma water works akwa ibom get them plenty and eko ole I will not show you, wail all you can. Where do ppl living at olodi apapa, makoko, epe get watet from if not from that stinking lagos lagoon or at best mallams. Eko ole you are an ole stealing lagosians black and blue. Abeg get a job this touting where you dey do for nairaland from morning till night no be am. You a are bloody looser. Akwa ibom ado ok!
PoliticsRe: Akpabio's Hospitals... by BabaTony: 8:32am On Jun 20, 2013
Aderostock: I don't think the poster has that hatred against Gov. Akpabio. He only posted the pictures of schools in uyo, if you think he lied, you should prove him wrong by posting standard pictures of hospitals in Akwa ibom
Certainly not me. Post pictures for who? Eko ole? That won't happen because he is already blinded by hypocrisy.
PoliticsRe: Akpabio's Hospitals... by BabaTony: 7:35am On Jun 20, 2013
Aderostock: what else do you people want from Gov. Fashola? He built Millennium schools, primary health centres, roads, jettys, and brought some many innovations in form of job creation across the state but the hatred won't allow you to see them.
The same hatred eko ole has for a performing governor in akwa ibom.

PoliticsRe: Akpabio's Hospitals... by BabaTony: 4:41am On Jun 20, 2013
Eko ole is on a very futile crusade against a man that has been giving him nightmares due to his uncommon transformation of his his state. The more eko ole tries the more he looks stupid. This man has so outclassed his gods fasola and Tinubu that if eko ole doesn't do something fast might might loose his grand status as the duo's official a55licker. Eko ole talking about hospitals and school do you know I can never send anybody to any lagos hospitals or schools. I wan make dem die? In lagos the private sector run the show. If not for them ppl for enter wahala for lagos because as for as those amenities are concerned eko ole and his masrers are FAILURES name them Schools, hospitals, roads, everything. Is it not the same lagos state government that refused to pay the few teachers on its payroll the reviewed salary scale. Is it not the same lagos doctors were sacked because they demanded for their right. Eko ole the tout shame on you. How dare you compare akwa ibom and lagos state in terms of service delivery. Akwa ibom has more government provided amenities than the the private sector this shows you that the government is working! Next time what will be the crusade topic? You started with akpabios schools, it failed now its hospital, it has failed too. Maybe the next will be akpabios sex life. Foooooooooooool
